A dedicated fertility specialist, Dr. Friedman has received San Diego Magazine's prestigious “Top Fertility Doctor” recognition seven times—more than any other fertility specialist in San Diego. She received the honor in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023. This distinguished award reflects recognition from local physicians who entrust her with the care of their patients and family members. Dr. Friedman graduated with honors from Princeton University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and earned her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, graduating first in her class. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology and fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Stanford University Medical Center. At the end of her time at Stanford, Dr. Friedman received multiple teaching awards and an award for laparoscopic surgical skills.
Dr. Friedman has authored several published book chapters and articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented award-winning research at national conferences. She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society. Her scientific interests include optimizing embryo transfer techniques, recurrent pregnancy loss, diminished ovarian reserve, depression treatment, and infertility outcomes.
Outside her work as a fertility specialist, Dr. Friedman enjoys spending time at the beach, reading, and taking yoga and Pilates classes. She also speaks French.
“I am honored to be recognized by my physician colleagues in the community. I am deeply grateful for their trust in allowing me to help care for their patients. It is a privilege to care for patients as part of the outstanding SDFC team!”
