Dr. Sandy Chuan, United States
Dr. Sandy Chuan is a dual board-certified fertility specialist with extensive experience in complex IVF cases and third-party reproduction. She is known for providing personalized care, combining the best science with compassion to optimize each patient's chance of success. During her career as a fertility specialist, Dr. Chuan has received numerous honors, including America's Top Doctors from 2017 to 2019. In 2018, she was named a “Top Doctor” by the San Diego County Medical Society (SDCMS) and San Diego Magazine.
Her areas of special interest include PCOS, diminished ovarian reserve, fertility preservation, minimal stimulation, male factor infertility, and PGT. She is also passionate about helping patients build families through egg donation and/or surrogacy. She is honored to provide advanced care to patients from the United States and around the world, with excellent outcomes.
Dr. Chuan is board-certified in both obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive endocrinology and infertility. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine (UCI), where she majored in biology and comparative literature and minored in Chinese. She earned her medical degree from the prestigious UCLA School of Medicine in 2003. During her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center, she received top awards for clinical excellence and teaching, including Outstanding Chief Resident and the Berlex Best Teaching Resident Award.
In 2007, Dr. Chuan began her career as a fertility specialist. In addition to completing a two-year clinical fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), she completed a three-year research fellowship. Her extensive research experience enables her to critically assess new data in the evolving field of assisted reproductive technology and incorporate the latest scientific knowledge into clinical care. Her publications cover topics including polycystic ovary syndrome, the role of HCG in assisted reproduction, and sperm factors in IVF.
