Dr. Susanna Park, United States
For the first decade of her career, Dr. Susanna Park practiced as a fertility specialist at Columbia University in New York City, a renowned IVF center of excellence in the United States. In 2012, she made a major transition to San Diego Fertility Center, where she skillfully combines her extensive experience as an infertility specialist with a personalized approach to patient care. Her unwavering commitment to providing advanced treatments supports her primary goal: improving every patient's chance of success.
Dr. Park is a highly dedicated fertility specialist who has received San Diego Magazine's prestigious “Top Fertility Doctor” honor five times. She received this distinction in 2017, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023. This respected award reflects recognition from local physicians who entrust her with the care of their patients and family members.
“The path to parenthood can be a challenging journey. I am committed to helping you achieve your dream of parenthood—walking alongside you with compassion and expertise.”
During her training, Dr. Park conducted extensive basic science and clinical research on the midcycle gonadotropin surge and neuroendocrine changes in perimenopausal women. She received her residency program's Resident Research Award for three consecutive years, the New York Obstetrical Society's Resident Research Award, and the Organon Resident Research Award for Outstanding Research in Women's Health. Dr. Park received the ACOG/Solvay Menopause Pharmaceutical Research Award and five years of funding through a Pfizer/Women's Health Research Scholar grant. Her findings were presented at research conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals. After completing her training in 2004, Dr. Park was invited to remain as an assistant professor, giving her the opportunity to translate her basic science and clinical research findings into improved patient care.
In 2007, Dr. Park became a clinical assistant professor at Columbia University. A large population of patients seeking fertility care led her to specialize in intrauterine insemination, in vitro fertilization, laparoscopic and hysteroscopic corrective surgery, oocyte donation, and gestational surrogacy. Dr. Park is active in the medical community and is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Dr. Park was born in Seoul, South Korea, and moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, at age one. After living in Argentina for six years, she and her family moved to New York City. Because of her international upbringing, Dr. Park can care for patients in English, Korean, and Spanish.
Dr. Park is passionate about combining her extensive clinical experience as an infertility specialist with personalized, compassionate care. She works closely with the LGBTQ community to help build families. Through her outstanding patient relationships and high success rates across treatments including IVF, egg donation, egg freezing, and gestational surrogacy, Dr. Park has developed a large referral practice in San Diego, across the continental United States, and internationally.
Dr. Park enjoys reading a good book, running, salsa dancing, and vegetarian cooking.
