The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and caring. The facility is extremely clean and equipped with the latest technology. They are very patient-centered and care about the entire experience, from small touches like warm gel to an adorable ovary-shaped plush toy. They also offer simple snacks and coffee. In addition to coffee and cold water, they provide a kettle for tea. There are ample waiting areas inside and outside the rooms where you can work, and they are happy to let you stay longer if needed. It was the best experience I could imagine.

We were delighted to work with nurse Olga and the UCSF team on one of our surrogacy cases! It was a wonderful experience!

Surrogacy has three main parts: finding an egg donor, choosing a surrogacy agency, and working with an IVF clinic. We first chose the UCSF Center for Reproductive Health because we had heard it was one of the world’s best fertility clinics, and we are very glad we did. At first, the number of agencies was overwhelming. UCSF provided a carefully selected list of top agencies that immediately narrowed our options. We had faced challenges choosing donor and surrogacy agencies, but with UCSF’s recommendations, we quickly found the right ones. Communication and coordination were seamless throughout. We always knew the next step and felt supported at every stage. Dr. Mok-Lin was highly professional and knowledgeable, and the entire UCSF care team was kind, attentive, and skilled. UCSF is considered one of the world’s best clinics for a reason. From start to finish, we felt confident, well cared for, and received highly professional treatment. My husband and I are now expecting a boy, and we will return to UCSF in a few years for another child!

I had an excellent experience working with Dr. Huang and her team. I worked closely with nurse Katrina, and both provided exceptional care. From start to finish, I felt fully supported, informed, and cared for. Dr. Huang’s expertise, reassuring presence, and thoughtful approach put me at ease. At the start of this journey, I was discouraged by my slightly low AMH and follicle count for my age. Dr. Huang carefully tailored the medication dosage during stimulation, and I was very pleased with the result. Yesterday, 15 eggs were retrieved and 13 were successfully frozen. Katrina was equally outstanding. She always answered my questions promptly, kindly, and thoroughly. The entire team made a potentially stressful process feel easy and smooth. I am very grateful for their care and highly recommend them to anyone seeking a professional, compassionate, and responsive medical team. Honestly, the UCSF fertility clinic amazed me. Everyone I met—from doctors and nurses to phlebotomists, anesthesiologists, and administrative staff—was exceptional. It is no accident that this clinic ranks first in California and among the top five fertility clinics in the country; they truly deserve that reputation. My sincere thanks again.

Most important comment: do yourself a favor that will save you time and effort, and read "it starts with the egg". I was not happy with the level of communication from the team on the topic of supplements. It just seems like the people working at this clinic either are not up to date with recent studies, or they just do not care enough to educate the patients. Scheduling is also really difficult. When I show up for an appointment, I find them running so behind schedule that they keep a whiteboard that reports how late they are for the various procedures (it goes between 10 minutes, to 25 or more than 40 minutes late). Being very late is so embedded in the way they work that they even have a system for it. It just makes us patients feel like they just do not care.

Dr. Cakmak is excellent. However, at an appointment in November, he recommended that I begin medication. It is now February, and despite repeatedly calling and messaging his office, sometimes several times a week, I still have not received the prescription. They promise to call back but never do. Because I am not yet ready for an expensive procedure, I feel that my care has not been taken seriously. For context, my partner and I have completed all pretreatment testing, and the November appointment was a phone consultation to establish a treatment plan. Given how emotional and stressful this process already is, I am surprised by the administrative team's lack of consideration.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Maureen. She and her team helped my husband and me achieve a successful pregnancy through IVF after a cancer diagnosis and surgery. We are very grateful for her expertise!

I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Shapiro and her team. From the first meeting, we felt very supported, well educated about each step in the IVF process, and were impressed with the kindness and professionalism of all the staff. The IVF process was personally very emotional, at times overwhelming,- YET the UCSF staff were always incredibly responsive both in the messaging portal that I used a lot and over the phone. I ended up going through two rounds of egg retrievals and had some unexpected sad experiences with the first round. Dr. Shapiro and her team were so kind, compassionate, supportive and competent through it all. After two rounds of retrievals (at age 42) we prepared for the transfer. Dr. Shapiro moved around her schedule to be able to do the transfer herself. Our embryo implanted and now I’m writing this review with my three month old daughter sleeping in a wrap on me. We would not have the privilege of having our baby girl without the support and expertise of Dr. Shapiro’s team. In particular, Vivian and Katherine, both on Dr. Shapiro’s team, were so unbelievably patient with me and kind through the whole process. Looking back at the patient portal we exchanged over 172 messages! They went above and beyond to help answer my questions and offer support through a very difficult time. I highly recommend this clinic for IVF and in particular, Dr. Shapiro and her team. Thank you for making a miracle possible for us.

I cannot say enough good things about everyone at the center. We worked with Dr. Cakmak, who was wonderful. He listened to all our concerns, and we began the process immediately. We also worked with Dr. Huddleston and Dr. Shapiro, who were both caring and professional. We were fortunate to need only one retrieval and one transfer to have our little boy, who just turned one. Traveling almost 5 hours each way for every appointment was worth it. The professionalism and care everyone showed patients were amazing. We cannot thank everyone at the center enough!

I highly recommend Dr. Cedars. She is compassionate, thorough, and knowledgeable. She always listened patiently to my concerns and answered all my questions. I loved the clinic’s modern, clean environment. Every visit was on time, and Dr. Cedars was consistently thoughtful. I strongly recommend the UCSF Center for Reproductive Health.

After years of infertility and heartbreak, we came to the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), hoping to finally have a family of our own. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Fujimoto and the entire UCSF Center for Reproductive Health team for their care, professionalism, and support throughout this emotional journey. Every nurse, coordinator, embryologist, and staff member made us feel genuinely cared for during one of the hardest times in our lives. We are now expecting our daughter and will always be grateful to the UCSF team for helping us make this dream come true. Thank you again for everything.

I am now 9 weeks pregnant! I first saw Dr. Morin and her team a year and a half ago. They performed my fibroid removal surgery and helped me with IVF, with excellent results. Everyone here works extremely hard. Procedures start at 7 a.m., and the team works around the clock in shifts, sometimes handling emergencies on weekends. I greatly admire their work! Different teams also cover for one another when someone is away. They are all professional and compassionate. Special thanks to my nurse, Shem Lewis, who supported me throughout and made the process much easier!

I am so grateful to UCSF Center for Reproductive Health and the entire team for helping me grow my family. A special shout-out to Dr. Heather Huddleston, the NPs, nurses, MAs, and staff for their compassionate care and support throughout my journey. Thanks to their expertise, I am now pregnant with my second baby. I couldn’t be more thankful and highly recommend this amazing team! ❤️👶🏻✨

I cannot comment on Dr. Jaswa’s quality of care because the scheduling and billing systems at the UCSF Center for Reproductive Health were so poor that I could not obtain an appointment. I scheduled the earliest available date months in advance, completed all the forms—possibly 25 pages—and underwent every recommended fertility test. Then, the day before the appointment, they notified me that they had spoken with my insurer and would no longer bill me. I require a hysterectomy for medical reasons and qualify for fertility preservation coverage, but their billing department could not distinguish the procedure code from codes for other infertility treatments. The appointment was only a day away, and even after spending all day on calls with my insurer and UCSF, I could not resolve the issue before the next morning. My choices were to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket for covered services or reschedule about three months later and hope the problem was resolved. I strongly advise patients to seek care elsewhere.
