Dr. Rene Allen, United States
Santa Barbara native René Allen, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., is dedicated to providing the highest level of personalized care and expertise across all areas of reproductive medicine. After completing medical school and residency at the University of California, Irvine, Dr. Allen completed fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
After completing his fellowship, Dr. Allen returned home in 2008 to open a private practice, aptly named Santa Barbara Fertility Center. Since then, he has brought his passion and expertise in reproductive medicine to the growing and diverse Central Coast community and beyond.
Because Santa Barbara is a highly sought-after vacation and permanent residence destination, and some countries legally restrict certain fertility practices, patients from around the world have sought specialized care and fertility services at Santa Barbara Fertility Center.
Dr. Allen has a special interest in embryo implantation and markers used to assess embryo development. He has also presented research at national conferences on preimplantation genetic testing, male factor infertility, and tubal surgery. In 2008, Dr. Allen received the Society for Male Reproduction and Urology Traveling Scholar Award for his research on hyperglycosylated hCG in semen and was recognized by the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society for his presentation, "The Predictive Value of Embryo Development Rate for PGD and Pregnancy Outcomes."
Dr. Allen's professional affiliations include the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, Pacific Coast Reproductive Society, and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He has served as chair and vice chair of the Junior Fellows and currently serves as a Junior Fellow for District IX. He is also a member of Best Doctors.
While his affiliations and awards are important, Dr. Allen's popularity as a physician ultimately comes from his personable bedside manner and his ability to make every patient and family feel comfortable, valued, and well cared for throughout an undoubtedly stressful and challenging process. Santa Barbara Fertility Center offers a calm, peaceful, and comfortable environment where advanced technology supports patients as they pursue the important work that brought them there.
