Mousa Shamonki, United States
Dr. Mousa Shamonki is board-certified in reproductive endocrinology and obstetrics and gynecology. He serves as a clinical associate professor at UCLA. He earned his medical degree and completed his OB/GYN residency at the University of Vermont. He completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Cornell University, regarded by many in the field as one of the country's leading programs. After fellowship, Dr. Shamonki spent a year refining his skills at Reproductive Medicine Associates of New Jersey, where he performed thousands of ultrasounds and procedures. This high-volume training gave him experience comparable to that of any clinician in the country. In 2006, Dr. Shamonki returned to his alma mater, UCLA, as director of IVF and assisted reproduction and quickly developed its IVF program into a center of excellence. He has published extensively and received several honors, including the Carbee Award for Excellence in Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Patients' Choice Award, and the America's Top Doctors Award. In his words, "I was fortunate to grow up learning about reproductive medicine through the eyes of my father, Dr. Issa Shamonki, one of the field's pioneers.
