U.S. physician Evan Reshef


Hello! I'm Dr. Evan Reshef, and I'm thrilled to join the team at ACFS Fertility and call Arizona home again! This is an exciting full-circle moment for me as I return to Arizona to practice after completing my fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Columbia University in New York City. During my four years of training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Banner University Medical Center, Phoenix was home. I am now looking forward to serving patients in an area that has brought me such joy once again.

 

Over the past few years, I have had the privilege of managing thousands of yearly IVF cycles alongside leaders in our field. I have also taken the lead on several research projects involving embryo implantation, genetic abnormalities, and male factor infertility. I hope these projects will contribute to ongoing advancements in reproductive medicine.

 

I believe that forging a personal connection with your physician can make you feel more comfortable under our care. So, here's a little more about me: I'm an adventure-seeker who loves the outdoors and travel. From hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro and rock climbing to medical volunteering that has taken me around the world — from Honduras to Uganda and Ethiopia — I've always sought ways to combine my passion for medicine and wellness with the thrill of immersing myself in different cultures. While living in Israel after college, I played for the Tel Aviv Sabres in the Israeli Football League and was a founder and head coach of Israel’s first high school football team and league.

 

But of all my greatest adventures, building a life with my wife Amanda, son Asher, and dog Oskar has been the most rewarding. My family has always been my north star, inspiring me every day to assist YOU in achieving your dream. As a family, we are personally familiar with the challenges of the fertility journey, and we are so grateful that IVF afforded us the gift of our son. Experiencing the complexity of fertility treatment as both a provider and a patient has broadened my perspective.

 

My number one priority is to provide compassionate care and enhance outcomes for you on your fertility journey.

We cannot praise Dr. Patel and his team enough. My husband and I had been seeing a doctor who moved to ACFS and then stopped working without notice. We felt abandoned and alone until the front desk arranged for us to see Dr. Patel. At first we were very hesitant because, as anyone experiencing infertility knows, it is an emotional process, and you want to know every detail about your doctor, the facility, and their procedures. But we decided to proceed. From the first appointment, we felt heard and cared for by Dr. Patel. He explained everything in detail, and whenever we did not understand something medically, he or his team made sure we did. After meeting with him, we chose to proceed with our first IVF cycle. Your emotions, body, and mind can feel like a roller coaster during this time, but you are not alone, and Dr. Patel and his team make sure you know that. Whenever I reached out or needed anything, they were always available and made sure we were cared for. We are now expecting our miracle baby, and I am so grateful to Dr. Patel. We will always be thankful to him and his entire team! If you are experiencing any type of infertility and are unsure which facility to choose, look no further. We are incredibly grateful to ACFS for the outstanding care throughout our IVF journey. From the moment we walked through the door, the entire team made us feel welcome and supported, especially our nurse, Chelsea Johnson. IVF can be a challenging and emotional process, but Nurse Chelsea made it easier with her compassionate, attentive approach. She was always happy to answer our questions, large or small, and her thorough explanations helped us understand every step of treatment. Her empathy and kindness were a constant source of comfort through the ups and downs. Dr. Patel and the entire ACFS staff showed exceptional professionalism and expertise. We felt confident in such a knowledgeable and dedicated team. Their personalized care, tailored to our specific needs, made all the difference. Chelsea went above and beyond to ensure we felt supported. Her positive attitude and genuine concern made every visit a positive experience. After struggling with secondary infertility, we went to Dr. Patel. My OB-GYN recommended him, particularly because he is very thorough and knowledgeable about male infertility. He and his team were excellent throughout the process. The patient portal became my best friend because every question or concern received a prompt, thoughtful response. After extensive testing, Dr. Patel used our data to recommend going directly to IVF rather than trying IUI first, for which we are very grateful. I am currently 10 weeks pregnant and have graduated from ACFS—a bittersweet ending because we grew to love the team.

My OB-GYN referred me to Dr. Patel. I trust her and all her recommendations because she had never steered me wrong. When we went to them, Dr. Patel made me repeat several expensive tests that I had already completed after a miscarriage in late 2022. He never explained why they had to be repeated, even though I gave them access to all the prior results from my OB-GYN's office. When every test, including the repeated ones, was completely normal except for my low AMH, Dr. Patel focused on that. He said my AMH level, obesity, and high blood pressure meant: 1. I needed an expensive diet through another doctor that would cost more than $4,000 over 6 months; 2. I would never become pregnant; and 3. an egg donor and possibly a surrogate would be my only way to have a child. He did not take time to investigate why my AMH was so low or what could be done for me. I am convinced he simply saw an overweight person and offered the most expensive, though technically "fastest," way to have a child. I am happy to say we did not continue with their services. Fortunately, we became pregnant and had our daughter without them or Dr. Patel. If you want a doctor and group who explain nothing, give inaccurate statements and information, and charge heavily for tests and incorrect items, then by all means choose them. For me, it was a waste of time and money.

Disappointing fertility-clinic experience Our journey with this clinic was frustrating from beginning to end. Here is why we cannot recommend it: * Poor communication: After scheduling an appointment 1.5 months ahead, they went silent. We left five unanswered messages trying to ensure they had our medical records. * Last-minute demands: Two days before the appointment, they left a voicemail demanding full payment by noon that day. * Dismissive attitude: When we raised concerns about their lack of response, we were told, ‘Well, we're busy.’ That is not the empathy expected in fertility care. * Red flag: If they are too ‘busy’ to return a call about a potential $10,000+ transaction, how will they handle actual patient care? We found another clinic that scheduled us within two weeks and communicated well throughout. Bottom line: Your fertility journey is too important to entrust to a clinic that cannot manage basic communication. We strongly recommend looking elsewhere. You deserve care that values your time, understands your emotions, and respects your investment in this life-changing process.

We went there for several procedures. After we paid and completed the procedures, they stopped answering our calls. I need an itemized bill. This place is extremely unprofessional and unreliable.

I have never been seen at this clinic, but not for lack of trying. Last year, I tried to get an appointment, and no one I spoke with seemed to understand why I was there, even though my insurance, Tricare, had referred me to them. They then tried to correct me about what my insurance would cover because 'they had never heard of that insurance covering anything.' I was referred by my insurer, so I was fairly certain they intended to cover something. I had spoken with them and my gynecologist, who also accepts Tricare, and they said most costs related to the actual IVF procedure would be covered apart from a few items. Great. The first appointment and consultation took place by phone. They collected my copay and said it would be applied to testing, although my insurer and doctor's office again said I did not need to pay for that test, or any copay at all. They still insisted on taking it because the person on the phone apparently 'had none of my information in the system,' even though I had confirmed when scheduling that they did. I had even created my patient portal profile with all this information during the scheduling call. Incidentally, I never got that money back. A year later, after undergoing IVF at another clinic, I wondered whether I should try my luck here again in case things had changed. I messaged them on August 27 and heard nothing. I also tried calling several times, but they never answered or responded to my messages. It is now October 1, and I still have not received a message or call. This tells me everything I need to know: this office remains too unreliable to handle this type of care and service, and we will go elsewhere.

I would give zero stars if possible. You are put under for a polyp, only to wake up and be told it disappeared, so it must have been “just tissue”—$2,000 and time missed from my new job for that. Then you are told there is a small cyst on your ovary, but they do not treat cysts. You go to your obstetrician to remove it and wake from surgery to learn it was the size of a softball, far larger than ACFS's lazy doctor said. Here, you will only receive the lazy answer of “unexplained infertility.” After I paid thousands out of pocket, they still wanted to charge us $30 for our own records. You can keep and eat my records. It is sad that they exploit vulnerable people while making minimal, if any, effort. Reviewing the laboratory tests they ordered, they were all for STDs. I could have told you I had no STD. Why not run thyroid tests? Check for bacterial infections/overgrowth such as Ureaplasma and Mycoplasma. That does not fit your agenda and would require extra work, right? 0/10 recommended.

Never use this practice. The billing and provider care are absolutely the worst. They accepted insurance payments for claims, charged us cash, and kept both, which is illegal. They will be reported to the insurance commissioner. If I had time to stand outside their office every day warning people not to go, I would. It is that bad. You have been warned. Also, request an itemized bill. You will receive a mysterious, misaligned Excel-style spreadsheet that makes no sense and is not transparent. An absolute scam.

My experience at this clinic was awful because of its staff. Dr. Patel is wonderful, but he is not the person you primarily deal with. When scheduling a cycle, I had insurance coverage concerns. Fortunately, we had options, and I could change my insurance for better coverage. I asked financial coordinator Libby specific questions, but felt she did not listen or care enough to listen. She was very rude. I do not understand how people on a serious journey to start or grow a family are expected to speak with someone unhelpful or rude. At 2 p.m., I was also asked to pay an out-of-pocket amount that had to be collected by 3 p.m. that day to keep the appointment. Communication and the patient experience were very poor.

Although communication through reception and the front desk was challenging at the beginning of our IVF journey and required persistence, we are very grateful we stayed with ACFS because their medical team is the best in Silicon Valley. After our first transfer succeeded, we are now 28 weeks pregnant with our IVF rainbow baby and will always be grateful to Dr. Kumar, Sandy, and the team. At the time of our FET, the clinic had achieved more than 40 consecutive successful transfers. Good luck to everyone facing unexplained infertility—ACFS can help you build your family.

I was told, “Nature is telling you no, and you should find out why.” I also received several other less-than-polite comments during a telehealth appointment with Dr. Patel in 2022. I am glad I did not let his comments break our spirits. After that appointment, I stopped and found a naturopathic fertility doctor. I now know 3 friends whose experiences with Dr. Patel were almost identical to mine. I am not usually a sensitive person, but if you have been referred to a fertility doctor, it is common to feel discouraged about your fertility.

CCRM/ACFS and Dr. Patel were the best choice I could have made. Dr. Patel and his outstanding team—Chelsea, Maria, Gail, and Doreen—helped me conceive my miracle baby. They are not only an incredible gift to medicine, but are now also like family to me. From our first meeting, Dr. Patel set clear expectations for the future, which I deeply appreciated. He is direct, but speaks with kindness and sensitivity. His team is wonderful, responds extremely quickly, and treated me, someone who asks many questions, with grace and compassion. The billing team's responsiveness was incredible. I have read some negative reviews about them and strongly disagree. They were prompt and explained everything quickly and kindly. Every laboratory result was completed quickly. The Labcorp team was also highly professional. Even the front desk staff were always friendly when I arrived. There was not one rude person in the entire facility. There is truly nothing negative to say about this place. If you need fertility assistance, I highly recommend Dr. Patel and his team. They will become like family, and when you graduate, you will cry because you will no longer see them every week. I love them, and you will too. Make an appointment. You will not regret it.

My experience at this clinic was flawless. Every staff member, including reception, nurses, and doctors, was helpful and very kind. It was nice to see familiar faces at every visit. I visited both the Scottsdale and Gilbert locations; both were very clean and had excellent teams. I could easily contact my provider's clinical team with questions, and they always responded promptly. Dr. Kummer was very helpful throughout my care, and I highly recommend her and her team.

I felt violated and robbed!! Dr. Evan Reshef was terrible and should not be practicing. Do not see him!! I came for an HSG and left in excruciating pain and feeling humiliated. During the procedure, the doctor warned me to tell him to stop if the pain worsened or became unbearable. But when the pain hit—intense, crushing cramps that made me repeatedly cry "ow"—he stopped midway on his own before I asked, leaving me confused. This happened again, prolonging my pain until they finally decided to change the catheter. The second catheter was slightly easier, but the moment he began injecting the iodine, the pain returned—unbearable, constant pain that felt endless. The medication flowed agonizingly slowly, making the procedure feel eternal. He kept interrupting to ask whether I wanted him to stop, while I just wanted him to end the ordeal. What should have been a simple medical procedure became one of the most uncomfortable, prolonged, and unprofessional experiences of my life—nearly unbearable and still disturbing long after it ended. After the procedure, he told me that he had performed many of these procedures, but it did not work for me. My fallopian tubes might be blocked or might not be, but he could not say for certain. It was devastating.

I had a wonderful experience working with Dr. Rashef. He answered every question I asked, even those that seemed insignificant. He was very patient and provided a great deal of information throughout the process. Everyone from the front desk to his team supported me. Here, you feel like the most important person. Fertility treatment is physically and emotionally exhausting, and finding an excellent team for support makes all the difference. I would recommend Dr. Rashef and his team anytime.

I highly recommend CCRM. With Dr. Patel's help, my husband and I conceived our sweet son, due in 6/2025. He was very honest, thorough, and patient throughout the IVF process. The nurses and other staff at CCRM were wonderful and very helpful. CCRM helped us build our family, and we believe they can help others too.

I have never felt so uninformed and embarrassed. I will seek help elsewhere. Honestly, I cannot believe they have actually helped anyone or could help us. I have not yet spoken with Mr. Patel. Not recommended. I hope we can find someone who truly cares about us.

I have long wanted to review the financial team's unprofessional conduct. For months, I have requested an invoice for my out-of-pocket costs, but they have refused to provide one listing the treatments received, dates of service, and total amount paid. Their excuse is that the insurance company has not fully processed the claims, which has nothing to do with the out-of-pocket costs I prepaid. I no longer attend the clinic, and response times have become even longer. I recommend choosing a clinic that knows how to handle patient requests promptly.

We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Patel and his team for helping us bring our wonderful son into the world through IVF. From the moment we began, we felt supported and cared for. Dr. Patel is a true expert in his field, and his knowledge, skill, and attention to detail were evident at every step. ACFS is amazing! I was a patient at this wonderful facility during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. IVF is already physically and emotionally exhausting, and undergoing it during a global lockdown was even harder, especially because my husband could not accompany me to appointments. Dr. Lipskind and his outstanding team were exceptional throughout the process. Nurse Jennifer Singleton and others answered all my unusual questions, laughed with me, held my hand when I needed it, and made me feel completely at ease. I am happy to say that, thanks to Dr. Lipskind and his team, I gave birth to a healthy, happy baby boy in January 2022. We also conceived two daughters naturally, one born in 2023 and the other in 2024. Thank you so much to Dr. Lipskind, Jennifer Singleton, and all the other wonderful ACFS staff for making my dream of motherhood come true!

I had a wonderful experience completing three IVF cycles and one successful FET with Dr. Reshef and his team at this clinic. He is trustworthy, collaborative, kind, sincere, and knowledgeable. I truly have no complaints. After less positive experiences at two Tucson clinics, I am grateful that I switched here. The long drive to Scottsdale was completely worthwhile.

Someone posted a week ago about a bad experience with financial services, and I had the same experience. I left about five voicemails in one week. They refused to respond, or when they did, they avoided the subject, did not answer the question, and even acted deliberately confused. I need a procedure that my regular OB-GYN does not perform, so I was referred here. Insurance will not cover it. I have told them four times. That is beside the point—I only need a written cost estimate. The front desk refused to provide one. Financial services promised for days that a financial counselor would call me. I finally said I did not want a call; I only wanted a written estimate. They would not provide it, and the counselor never called. I told the same person about ten times that I was not asking for an itemized bill—I wanted a written estimate for the procedure. They seemed to be deliberately avoiding it. Doctors do this because deliberate ambiguity lets them increase the bill. This is a business first, not a clinic. I recommend going elsewhere; many of us seem to have had the same experience.

I just started going to this office- I cannot report a success story (YET), but I almost didn't go to this office because of everyone saying how bad the communication is in the other reviews. It is the opposite! I have never had a better line of communication with a provider in my entire life. The portal makes it SO easy and you get same day responses, I find that I am getting lots of information and answers and things are moving along well. Looking forward to continuing to see this provider. Prior to my appointments(all out of pocket) I did get a financial estimate and was able to review it all in detail.

I came to this clinic to see Dr. Nicole Kummer on the recommendation of an OB-GYN I trust, but something felt wrong from the start. CCRM was in network with my insurance, and CCRM confirmed this. Before the appointment, CCRM could not provide a cost estimate. At the clinic, the front desk demanded advance payment for the procedure without a reasonable explanation. I was worried about my fertility and thought I could submit the receipt to insurance later, so I paid because I was unsure whether other clinics did the same. I can now say they do not, and this clinic is certainly not high quality. Dr. Evan Reshef was supposed to personally perform my HSG, but he had a student or trainee ‘assist,’ when she actually performed the entire procedure alone. I work in healthcare and understand that trainees need to learn, but the $440 I paid was for a doctor, not a trainee. She said there might be an abnormality, while the doctor disagreed, leaving me concerned. I then scheduled an SHG with Dr. Ketan Patel and paid another $440. He and his assistant or technician were excellent. The follow-up with Dr. Kummer was average, and I felt like a number on an assembly line. She seemed more interested in my vacation than the treatment I had paid her to discuss.

Our experience at this clinic was deeply disappointing from beginning to end. Over more than a year, numerous issues ultimately forced us to seek care elsewhere. Blood draws were repeatedly difficult. I have type 1 diabetes and have blood drawn every three months without previous problems, yet two phlebotomists repeatedly missed my veins, causing physical discomfort and clinical concern. Many medical assistants also gave hesitant or contradictory answers, adding frustration to an already stressful process. The overall experience felt impersonal. Fertility treatment is emotional and vulnerable, but we never felt appropriately supported or cared for. Interactions were often cold and detached. After a year, we transferred to another clinic and experienced a complete contrast. The new clinic showed us what compassionate, attentive, patient-centered fertility care should be. This was discouraging, especially as our first fertility treatment experience. I hope the clinic takes feedback seriously and makes meaningful improvements in patient care and communication.

We spent about four months at this clinic, and unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing. Communication was a major problem. Calls often went unanswered, and messages were vague and unprofessional. Pricing also lacked transparency. We repeatedly had to ask for basic financial information that should have been clear from the start. More importantly, we never received a clear treatment plan or guidance. After months of visits, we still felt as though we were finding our way in the dark. Fertility treatment is emotional and time-sensitive. We needed guidance, clarity, and care, but felt unsupported in all three. A second opinion at another clinic changed everything immediately. In one visit, we received more answers, a clear treatment plan with alternatives, full cost transparency, and a personalized schedule. It showed us how much had been missing. I rarely write reviews, but time matters in this process. If you are considering this clinic, ask detailed questions early and advocate for yourself. You deserve clear communication, an actionable treatment plan, and a team that genuinely cares about your case.

I had a consultation, but we could not use this company, which was fine—these things happen. The doctors were pleasant. The problem is that they charged my credit card twice without explanation. I called repeatedly to ask why, but no one answered. Many reviews suggest calling the listed number for the clinic director, but that is useless because they neither answer nor return calls. Then they charged me again over the weekend! This is outrageous. I have made more than a dozen calls over more than a month just to get a simple answer.

Dr. Patel is very knowledgeable and exceptionally gentle during ultrasounds. I have had two successful frozen embryo transfers, with a third coming soon. The entire care team is wonderful.

I scheduled a doctor's appointment for Monday, May 18. On May 11, I received seven different emails asking me to pay before the appointment. I paid Arizona Fertility Center $176.16. Two days later, on May 13, I was notified that I would need to change doctors. I chose not to reschedule because I had done considerable research to find this doctor, had received a friend's recommendation, and wanted time to learn about the other doctors before agreeing to a change. During that call, I was told that the $176.16 would be refunded. Knowing refunds take time, I waited a week before following up. On May 20, I called the billing department and left a message but received no response. This morning, I received another email containing a receipt for $176.16. At first, I thought it was simply documentation of my May 11 payment, but the receipt was dated today, which made me even more confused and concerned. I called the billing department again and left another message, but still received no response. The lack of communication and follow-up has made this a frustrating experience. I am still waiting for confirmation of the original refund status and an explanation of why I received another receipt for the same amount. I expected clearer communication and more timely customer service throughout this process.

He mostly told me that this would not work, that would not work, and that I had to do IVF and might even need a surrogate. I thought, doctor, slow down—this is only the first appointment. You do not even have my latest lab results, yet you are rushing to tell me I cannot have a child and how expensive it will be. I came here to learn what I needed to do to conceive naturally and make sure everything was healthy. Instead, he kept saying this would not work, that would not work, and I could not take those medications. I already knew all that because all my doctors knew and had explained it to me. After every sentence, he added, “you know.” No, I do not know, which is why I made this appointment. The whole visit felt rushed. He spoke very quickly and made me feel he must have had more important things to do. Fine. He referred me to a weight-loss clinic that does not accept insurance. He asked very few questions and did not even speak to my husband after the staff said my husband had to attend the appointment. Even my husband had no confidence in this doctor. I see a nurse practitioner at PrimeGYN, which is her own practice and specialty, but he said she was merely a general nurse practitioner who knew nothing about gynecology. He tried to undermine my confidence, but I will not let him. I now have very little trust in him. We will not return. I will find another fertility specialist—one who listens and helps, rather than dismissing your condition because they think they cannot make money from you. Do not see Dr. Patel. His medical ethics are terrible.

Everyone here is very kind. From the front desk to the nurses and doctors, everyone was friendly, helpful, and genuinely tried to make me comfortable and assist me whenever I needed help. Anna in particular was wonderful. I often had problems with my injections, and whenever my injection-day schedule changed, she would always ask the appropriate staff or connect me with a nurse as soon as possible. This impressed me most because I place a high value on good customer service. As far as I am concerned, Dr. Lipskind and his team are my fertility care team. My only criticism is the patient portal. It is somewhat complicated to use, and I wish it were more user-friendly. Otherwise, given the urgency of preserving my fertility before starting cancer treatment, I had an excellent experience and would definitely recommend this clinic.

Where do I begin? This has been a long journey for us—from vasectomy to IUI, then IVF at one clinic and a frozen embryo transfer at another. The military took us to several places, so once our embryos were safely in the care of Dr. Lipskind's office, I felt that things would go smoothly. Dr. Lipskind never merely checked items off a list. He made us feel that if we had a chance of becoming pregnant, he would work with us to make it happen. I firmly believe that if we had not come to this office, we would not have had a successful pregnancy or welcomed our child in July 2022! A heartfelt thank-you also goes to Leslie, Melinda, and Jennifer. Everyone there made the magic happen, and we are so, so, so grateful!

I am a 2x surrogate and completed first-trimester monitoring at Southwest Fertility Center in Glendale. The ultrasound technician was amazing—so patient and kind. After each appointment, she took time to ensure that both the parents and I felt comfortable. The front desk staff were always friendly and prompt, keeping visits on time and efficient. I wish I could stay here throughout the pregnancy!
