My husband and I are very grateful that after I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis, we were referred to Dr. Quaas at Shady Grove. He and his team are wonderful. From the moment we entered, we knew we would receive excellent care. Brenda, Susan, Michelle, and the rest of the team supported us throughout. They were kind, thoughtful, and compassionate. Dr. Quaas patiently explained every detail of our fertility process. Thanks to SGF Solana Beach, we have just welcomed our first baby!

Choosing a clinic based on its facilities and technology is very important, but selecting one with a trustworthy doctor who understands and cares for patients' feelings is just as essential. And Dr. Quaas is exactly that kind of person.

I cannot praise this practice enough. From beginning to end, everyone involved provided excellent care. I felt that my treatment received careful attention and priority, and every question was answered and taken seriously.

I cannot say enough good things about Shady Grove Solana Beach and everyone who works there! Moving from a high-volume clinic with little personal care to this small, warm, personable practice was refreshing. It honestly feels like a family, with employees who want to be there. I did not feel like a number, but like someone they genuinely wanted to see succeed. That applies to the entire team. Dr. Quaas is outstanding. He balances optimism and realism perfectly, and I felt safe and cared for in his hands. He explains matters thoroughly, answers questions, and discusses options. His approach is research-driven, which I appreciate, and he shares the evidence about treatment choices and protocols. He has an excellent bedside manner, rare today. His optimism always encouraged me and kept me calm. My nurses, Nicole and Michelle, were equally supportive. They stayed ahead of medication refills, responded attentively to every message—even foolish or panicked ones—and were kind, compassionate, enthusiastic members of my care team. I knew I could rely on them and did not worry that details would be missed as at my previous clinic. Their positivity and kindness at every appointment immediately eased my stress. They are angels! Medical assistant Sharon was also kind, welcoming, and capable. Tangie handled every financial matter promptly and professionally and always answered questions. Finally, Brenda at the front desk always greeted me by name with a smile, which meant a great deal during this stressful process. This practice runs like a well-oiled machine while retaining the warmth of a family. Every employee contributes to Shady Grove's success, and I truly believe they are building something special. I hope they retain these values as they expand because this is a unique place. Now that I am pregnant, graduating is bittersweet (!!!), but they will always hold a special place in my heart for helping me achieve my dream of motherhood. My only regret is not finding them earlier in my IVF journey!

A money-grabbing company. The nurses cannot draw blood, and communication is virtually nonexistent. You cannot really speak with a doctor, only with nurses who do not know how to properly resolve the problems they create. They treat you like a fool even though they do not know what they are doing. I found that they have faced multiple lawsuits, which is no surprise. I am glad we left before the mock cycle, although it took us 6 months to dispute the charges. If I could give this company negative stars instead of zero, I would. Future patients, beware. They treat you wonderfully at first, but once you are locked in, you are in for a hellish roller-coaster ride. Good luck to the next victim.

Stay away from Shady Grove! This was my second IVF cycle, and someone recommended a doctor there. Although I liked the doctor and found her knowledgeable, my experience with Shady Grove was a nightmare. They are entirely focused on money and do not care about patients, and their staff lack empathy and compassion. There were so many administrative and logistical errors that I wonder whether they contributed to the IVF failure. They did not tell me until after I completed IVF that I could not use a surrogate without the doctor's approval. Had I known, I would never have chosen them. After the IVF failed, they even charged me storage fees for embryos that did not exist, and obtaining my medical records to see another doctor takes 30 days. IVF is already difficult. Do not make it worse by going to Shady Grove Fertility Solana Beach!

I struggled with infertility for six years before Shady Grove Solana Beach helped me fulfill my dream of motherhood through its egg donor program. In less than a year, I was holding my baby! The entire process went very smoothly, and they gave me tremendous support and genuine care. I live 75 miles from the clinic, and they thoughtfully arranged for blood draws closer to my home so I did not have to travel a long distance just for laboratory work. Their online platform was also easy to use, and they always responded quickly to my messages. I had previously visited several other fertility clinics, but this one was by far the best. I highly recommend them!

On graduation day at Shady Grove Fertility, I sat in my car in tears, overwhelmed with emotion. I feel incredibly fortunate to be pregnant with my second child with the help of this amazing team! It took only one natural-cycle IVF attempt to succeed. Throughout the process, I felt supported, guided, and cared for. They worked with my body's natural rhythm rather than treating me according to a fixed schedule. I am deeply grateful to Dr. Davis and the entire SGF team. The experience was amazing, and I highly recommend them!! 🩷

My family and friends had previously frozen their eggs at two highly regarded clinics in San Diego and Los Angeles, and after hearing their firsthand experiences, I can honestly say that Shady Grove felt completely different and very special. From the beginning, I felt like a person rather than a number. The care was personal, attentive, and consistent. I saw my doctor, Dr. Quaas, at every appointment, which meant a great deal to me. Instead of rotating among different nurses as at other clinics, I received detailed, hands-on care in a smaller, more welcoming office. One of their greatest advantages is the guarantee of freezing 20 eggs, which gave me peace of mind and saved me a substantial amount of money. I have never seen or heard of another clinic in San Diego or Los Angeles offering anything similar. Dr. Quaas is truly outstanding. He is compassionate, attentive, and genuinely follows through on his promises, which is rare among the other clinics I have visited or heard about. The clinic nurse, Michelle, is an angel—kind, supportive, and present throughout the process. Something else made a strong impression on me: when my twin sister froze her eggs at another clinic several years ago, they made her feel “old.” I had just turned 40 when I began freezing my eggs, making me even older than my sister was, but Shady Grove never treated my age as a disadvantage. That respect and encouragement meant so much to me. Overall, I would give this clinic 10 out of 10. After waiting 15 years, including 3 years of IVF treatment, I finally held our baby today, and I want to express my deepest gratitude to Dr. Davis. From the beginning, Dr. Davis was incredibly attentive, kind, and thoughtful. She never rushed us, but gave us time to think, prepare, and make the decisions we felt were best. She and her wonderful team supported us through every step of this long and emotional journey. Because of endometriosis and my age, it was difficult for us to obtain a high-quality embryo. But Dr. Davis always went above and beyond to offer different options to help improve egg quality and maximize our chances of success. We ultimately decided to proceed with laparoscopic surgery, and we are very grateful for her careful guidance. Most importantly, we thank Dr. Davis for always believing in us and helping us hold on to that belief. After a long IVF journey, our treatment was finally successful, and our precious son was born.
