Dr. Traub is wonderful! He is not only a highly skilled physician but also brings compassion and respect to his work. I came to Dr. Traub with PCOS after four years of infertility. I immediately saw that he was experienced and well educated in his specialty. We discussed a realistic plan of action, which I greatly appreciated. His office is also filled with the most patient and kind staff. I am so grateful I came to Island Reproductive Services, especially to Dr. Traub, because he made our dream of becoming parents come true. I had seen other doctors before, but none provided care as good as Dr. Traub's. When we became pregnant, I actually cried because I did not want to stop being his patient. It is difficult to find a doctor you can truly trust! When I look at my beautiful baby boy, I remember he is here because of Dr. Traub, and I will always be grateful!

Dr. Knockenhauer and his staff are the best and most professional! They made my experience so easy! I recommend him to anyone seeking fertility help. Even though I conceived naturally, they helped me identify when I was ovulating. I had planned to have an IUI but became pregnant instead. I wish he could be my obstetrician!

My wife had surgery and was shocked by the lack of cleanliness in the operating room. She was not given antibiotics afterward, and they did not follow up. They also sent blood to an out-of-network laboratory that should have been covered under surprise-billing rules, but they failed to document that they had ordered the blood work. More than 10 months later, dealing with insurance and the laboratory remains a major headache. We have since transferred to another IVF clinic because this clinic never followed up, failed to document matters correctly, provided an unsanitary surgical environment, and caused an insurance problem that has lasted more than 10 months and remains unresolved. We regret ever coming here.

Honestly, I do not know where to begin in describing my husband's and my journey to pregnancy. Dr. Traub and his incredible dream team took a path that seemed impossible and filled it with hope. For a time, we began accepting that we might not be able to build a family, physically or financially. But Dr. Traub refused to let anything stand in the way of success. What makes Island Reproductive so special is that it is not just about medicine or money; it is about making dreams come true. The compassion, dedication, and personalized care we received exceeded anything we imagined. The team forms such deep relationships with patients that finally “graduating” to the next stage of pregnancy truly felt bittersweet. My husband and I will always be grateful to Dr. Traub and his team for making our dream a reality. If you are looking for a specialist who truly cares, fights for you, and makes you feel like family, I cannot recommend Dr. Traub and his incredible team highly enough. It is one of the most humble, dedicated, and compassionate practices we know.

Dr. Knochenhauer seems distracted and disengaged most of the time. He always rushes you through appointments, forgets key details of your case, and asks patients questions whose answers he should already know. He does not remember procedures he performed or medications he prescribed. It feels as though the patient is wasting time while he collects money for doing nothing.

I am extremely sad and frustrated with this place. My insurance approved IVF but denied the two medications needed to begin. The billing staff and nurses thought this was strange and said they would investigate, but no one responded. Not wanting to give up on my dream, I left a message asking to speak with Dr. Knochenhauer to see whether we could take another route, but still no one responded. So I am left to grieve alone and try to accept that my opportunity is over.

Unfortunately after 5 cycles, I did not have success here with either doctors. During initial testing prior to ivf, my bloodwork I was told to send to reception was “lost”. I should’ve known from that moment to leave. Dr Knockenhauer did get me my 1 and only euploid, however it failed to implant. After my first cycle, he asked if I was ready for donor sperm, which I thought was rushed (yes we have severe MFI). But to come to that conclusion after 1 cycle without other interventions first is concerning. Switched to Dr Traub for my 4th and 5th cycles. He asked why I transferred my 1 euploid 5 days post retrieval. Why? Because your partner allowed it and said he was confident to do it! While he got many blasts in my 4th cycle, all 7 were aneuploid. It shifted from being severe mfi to egg quality in his opinion. He does not believe in any supplements or experimental treatments to enhance fertility. He did not want to address the mfi except with picsi and did not encourage us to see a urologist. His words: “A urologist is not going to help”. Did not mention a TESE, supplements, lifestyle changes, nothing for my husband. Turns out my husband had severe dna fragmentation (another test Traub felt was useless), pointing to a severe sperm issue; NOT an egg quality issue. I used too many cycles at this clinic with NOTHING to show for it all - ZERO embryos, nothing to even transfer to a new clinic. Also, they push PGT testing. Finance is lacking in the communication department. It is hard to get a hold of somebody to answer questions. It took over 2 weeks for them to get in touch with my insurance company to tell them the last FET cycle with Island failed so that I could start a new cycle at my new clinic (mind you, the cycle at Island was in November 2024, and my new cycle was supposed to start in JULY 2025- why wasn't this done in a timely manner? 8 months!). I am STILL waiting for a $240 credit from them; they are claiming the cycle from November hasn’t been finalized so they are holding it hostage; but it was finalized on 6/25/25 (due to me calling to try to start the new cycle). I’m not sure if she’s still there, but the nurse Katie is very condescending. There are other lovely ones though. Giving 2 stars only because Dr Traub does answer emails in a timely manner and Jackie at reception is very nice. There were some other issues but I’ll spare more negativity.

Dr. Eric Knochenhauer is an excellent doctor. He is honest and very intelligent. At every visit, he listened patiently, helped us, and guided us in the right direction. I highly recommend him to everyone.

Very dissatisfied with the service. They did nothing to help my wife and me resolve our situation, leaving us helpless and unsure what to do. They only care about money, not people.

Think carefully before going to Island Reproductive Services. I am sharing my experience in hopes of helping others avoid the frustration, emotional trauma, and wasted time I endured. I first saw Dr. Knockenhauer to understand why, after conceiving my first child naturally without complications, I had experienced two miscarriages. At the first consultation, he created a clear ten-step plan, beginning with blood tests and ending with IVF only as a last resort. It sounded thorough and gave me hope. However, after completing only steps 1, 2, and 3, including a hysterosalpingogram, he saw that I had GHI insurance and suddenly recommended proceeding directly to IVF. Although the cause of my miscarriages was still unknown, he assured me IVF could reduce my miscarriage risk by 10%. I trusted his advice and believed he had my best interests in mind. I underwent two egg retrievals and one IVF transfer, which failed. Only after that failure did he test me for endometritis, which had been step four of his original plan. The result showed that endometritis was likely the cause of both my miscarriages and failed IVF transfer. I endured six months of invasive procedures, emotional distress, and unnecessary treatment that might have been avoided if he had followed his original plan. It felt as though the priority shifted from proper diagnosis to profit as soon as my insurance information was known. The clinic also operates like a factory. Multiple patients are scheduled in the same time slot, so waits often exceed an hour. Nurses rushed through instructions for IVF medications, leaving no time for questions or clarification. Given the complexity and sensitivity of these medications, that is unacceptable. Ultimately, I switched clinics and became pregnant naturally with help from a doctor who truly listened and cared. That doctor even told me I never needed IVF. This was one of my worst medical experiences. I strongly advise others to seek treatment elsewhere from a provider who truly understands their case rather than simply pursuing expensive procedures.

It has been a long journey. I am deeply grateful to Dr. Traub and his team. Dr. Traub is wonderful. From the first day we met, he patiently and thoroughly explained our journey and guided us onto the right path toward realizing our dream. His care exceeded my expectations. The nurses and staff were always available to answer questions and accommodated our schedule. I highly recommend that anyone wanting to build a family contact him.

Dr. Traub is an excellent physician. He is highly skilled and knowledgeable. He takes the time to explain everything thoroughly and always prioritizes medical outcomes, which made me feel reassured and supported throughout treatment. His team is equally outstanding. Nurses Sally, Karen, and Brenda are attentive and exceptionally responsive. They reply quickly and explain everything patiently, making me feel genuinely cared for during what can be an emotional treatment process. The front desk team is welcoming and efficient, and the phlebotomists and ultrasound technicians are gentle, professional, and considerate. IVF can be extremely stressful, but the entire team made me feel supported at every step. I am very grateful for their care.

Words cannot describe how wonderful Dr. Knochenhauer and his team are. Every receptionist on the phone treated me like family. Unlike other clinics that pass you around, they immediately knew my name and what tests I needed next. Whenever they said they would call later with results, they actually did! Then there is Cynthia... she is simply the best person to draw blood. I never felt the needle and never had any bruising. Whenever she was available, I specifically requested her because she is that good. Last but certainly not least is Dr. Knoch... For someone like me with severe anxiety and multiple miscarriages, he was the perfect doctor. He never sugarcoated anything and was always direct. He showed exceptional professionalism and experience, explaining the advantages and disadvantages of several treatment options in detail. He always made time to see me promptly, and he spared me from a biopsy previously recommended by my OB-GYN that was clearly unnecessary (thank you, Dr. Knoch!). Dr. Knoch and his team followed up with me weekly, and he ultimately resolved my problem. I could not be more grateful. I cannot wait to share my experience and recommend him to friends and family who are struggling. I am extremely grateful to him and his clinic.

I have been seeing Dr. Traub for several years, and it has been a long and difficult journey. Despite the challenges, Dr. Traub has always been wonderful. He is very understanding and always available to answer all my questions. I am now pregnant with my second child thanks to him. I could not have asked for a better doctor during my infertility journey. If I could give six stars, I would, because he absolutely deserves them! Everyone at the clinic is wonderful, and I have never had any problems. Sally in particular has been a lifesaver; words cannot express how wonderful she is.

My experience with Dr. Traub was terrible, and I would never recommend him. I had six failed pregnancies under his care. When I needed surgery, I do not know what he did to my uterus, although he claimed to have removed endometriosis and a tumor. Less than a year later, I needed a second operation. My excellent new doctor said, and I quote, “Your uterus is in terrible condition. I don't know what happened during your last surgery, but it is a mess. Your last pregnancy loss, after an embryo transfer with Dr. Traub, had no chance of surviving.” He found endometriosis and a small tumor in my uterus. I cried for a long time because that was my only female embryo. When I went to confirm the miscarriage during the early COVID period, my bloodwork clearly showed the loss, yet he would not allow my husband inside. I waited anxiously in the room while my husband waited in the parking lot, and we saw Dr. Traub stroll back from a fried-chicken restaurant while I was waiting for him. He was unethical and often rude. I left and never returned. He contacted me only a year later because his office owed me a repeat embryo test and had to provide the result. During that conversation, he even dwelled on the loss of my only female embryo. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. Several people urged me to leave sooner, and I wish I had listened. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Every transfer ended in miscarriage, which I firmly believe was closely related to the original problem remaining untreated. My concerns were repeatedly ignored, no meaningful testing was performed, and I was encouraged to continue physically and emotionally exhausting transfer cycles. This experience cost me years of my life, my health insurance, and my physical and mental well-being. I later sought another doctor’s opinion, and an ultrasound identified the defect almost immediately. If you are in a similar situation, advocate for yourself and seek a second opinion before making any decisions.

One year ago on April 8, I entered this fertility clinic frightened, confused, and uncertain about the future. I was welcomed by the admirable Dr. Traub, and together we discussed the next steps in treatment. At the time, I felt an enormous weight on my shoulders, but we soon met his excellent team and created a treatment plan. We began with extensive testing to identify the root cause. Dr. Traub carefully reviewed all my previous medical records to ensure every detail was accurate. During treatment, nurse Sally was outstanding, showing every patient care and compassion. When I felt lost, she always guided me back to a rational perspective. Phlebotomist Kaitlyn made every early-morning blood draw worthwhile, despite the needle sticks and agonizing wait for results. There was always a friendly face at the front desk and someone helpful on the phone. Today, I am immensely grateful to this exceptional team for supporting me through my darkest days and helping me have a beautiful daughter. I would give them more stars if I could. Please visit them—I promise you will not be disappointed.

I would like to share my experience with Dr. Traub in the hope that it will help others make an informed choice. I initially underwent three intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycles under his care, but all were unsuccessful. I then moved on to in vitro fertilization (IVF). Unfortunately, my IVF experience was very disappointing. On one occasion, the doctor had me take medication to delay my period because he was unable to start the cycle at that time. This made me feel that my treatment was being scheduled entirely around his availability rather than my medical needs. Although I was under 35 and had no known risk factors that would warrant genetic testing, Dr. Traub still recommended genetic testing of my embryos. He told me that testing the embryos could improve my chances of a successful pregnancy. The first IVF cycle failed. Before starting the second cycle, I clearly stated that I did not want embryo genetic testing again. However, the doctor insisted and told me that my child could have a genetic condition if I did not have the testing. I asked whether there were other ways to screen for genetic conditions later in pregnancy, but was told there were none. Even more frustratingly, this conversation took place before my egg retrieval, causing tremendous emotional stress at a time when I was most vulnerable. I ultimately agreed to genetic testing, but the second IVF cycle also failed. When I tried to discuss the test results and next treatment steps with the doctor by phone, he refused and required me to schedule an in-person appointment. At the appointment, he simply told me it was “bad luck.” He then advised me to continue IVF or consider donor eggs, but I was neither ready nor willing to do so at the time. Overall, the experience left me physically and emotionally exhausted. I spent two years trusting this doctor and following his advice, only to end up feeling discouraged and alone. I later sought help from another doctor and became pregnant on my first insemination cycle.

I cannot say enough good things about this IVF clinic. From the beginning, I felt supported, well informed, and genuinely cared for. Dr. Knockenhauer is not only highly knowledgeable and skilled but also compassionate and patient, always taking time to answer my questions and explain every step of the treatment process. The nurses are truly wonderful. They are kind, responsive, and made what could have been an overwhelming experience feel manageable and even hopeful. The front desk staff also deserve recognition. They are organized, welcoming, and always willing to help with scheduling or insurance questions, which was extremely important to me. Thanks to this team, I now have two wonderful children, and I will always be grateful. I still stay in touch with them because they played such an important role in my life. Dr. Knochenhauer is amazing. He explained everything from our first consultation. He performed every test we needed, or might not have needed, just to rule everything out. He is very, very good and always focused on helping us have a child. Trust him and be patient, because everything takes time. He will help you. Thank God I did not have any major problems and am doing well, but without Dr. Knochenhauer I would not have known what my issue was. My son is now 14 months old and is the light of my world. It took me a long time to write this review; honestly, I forgot, haha. The staff are very helpful. Be patient with them because they handle a lot. They are very kind and very busy... 👍

What a great experience. The doctor is direct yet very compassionate. He understands how frightening this can be for women and does everything possible to minimize it. He is easy to talk to and advises you on every option and possibility. He draws diagrams or does whatever is needed to help you understand. I am very pleased with my surgery and scar. I highly recommend him.

He and his team are wonderful, and he is a caring doctor. When we could not identify the problem, he always helped me find the right doctor. I love him; he has saved my life more than once.
