Barbara H. Osborn, MD, graduated with honors from Brown University. She completed all her medical training at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina, including medical school, an OB/GYN residency, and a 3-year fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. After fellowship, Dr. Osborn practiced at the Center for Reproductive Science in Boston for 2 years before joining Shady Grove Fertility in 2002. She is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive endocrinology.

Dr. Osborn is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She sees new and returning patients at our Washington, D.C.–Sibley location.

    My experience at SGF was excellent. Everyone on the team, especially Dr. Osborn and nurse Marylin, was professional, dedicated, and attentive. Marylin always answered my questions thoughtfully and thoroughly. I felt supported and understood throughout the process.

    Best team ever! They make you feel right at home 🤗 My veins are extremely unpredictable, but these women always make my lab work easy, and they always have smiles on their faces and play the best music.

    Do not come here unless you want to be deceived. Shady Grove has fallen extremely far. During fertility screening, my wife was exposed to latex despite her documented latex allergy. Apparently, the facility listed it in progress notes rather than in the allergy indicator. Instead of admitting the error, they denied any latex exposure despite my wife’s reaction, meaning the provider, Dr. Nicole Doyle, lied. Worse, they had the audacity to bill us. At best, this conduct is unprofessional.

    Dr. Doyle, nurse Helen, and the entire Shady Grove care team are wonderful. Helen, your kindness, attentiveness, and warmth gave me tremendous strength. Dr. Doyle, your expertise and reassuring presence gave us confidence at every step. Thank you to the entire team for your hard work and support throughout the process, which greatly reduced my stress.

    Dr. Humm, nurse Susan, and all the other staff were wonderful. We just welcomed our first baby, and we could not have reached this point without them. They provided excellent communication and support throughout IVF. We always felt fully informed, respected, and confident that our decisions and wishes were honored. I highly recommend this team!

    We are very grateful for our experience at SGF. Dr. Doyle and Helen make a dynamic team and patiently answered our questions through every challenge during treatment. During many blood draws, Ashley and Debby kept me cheerful with their professionalism and music.

    Ashley and Debbie are wonderful! I am very afraid of needles, but they always make me laugh during blood draws. I leave the Sibley office feeling happy and confident every time. The clinic has a very calm, peaceful atmosphere. I highly recommend SGF Sibley.

    She performed my transfer and was very thorough, kind, professional, and knowledgeable, explaining everything clearly. I am a nurse and was very impressed with her.

    We have been trying for over a year with no progress. Every time I provide what they request, someone from the office calls and says, 'No, now you have to do this,' causing stress for my husband and me. I would not recommend them. The system is deeply flawed.

    Do not support this practice! Dr. Barbara has been reported to the medical board. Be aware that if you are Black or Brown, you may not receive good treatment.

    My records were completely lost after the first step, an antral follicle count performed by Dr. Osborne. She never followed up. I had to call repeatedly. Eventually they told me they had lost my records and that I needed to return and repeat the step. Then they miraculously found them. I planned the next stage, egg retrieval, but they canceled it and said the FDA was closing their laboratory. This was only a week after I had spoken with her. Dr. Osborne may be paid too much to provide clear care to her patients. There was no call or anything else. I wasted 4 months with her. They lost my records and now say the lab will be closed until next year. I do not even know what a closed lab means!!! After charging me who knows how much, the doctor never called again. Do not waste your time.

    We have extensive experience with fertility clinics across the country after undergoing IVF for many years. Unfortunately, many facilities and clinics take advantage of vulnerable patients; that was not the case at Shady Grove. Dr. Osborne and her team not only met but exceeded our expectations based on other IVF clinics. They made an enormous contribution to helping us build our family. Thank you for everything! Highly recommended!!!
