    My appointment was at 11:30, but the examination did not take place until around 12:30. The wait felt somewhat long, and I hope this improves. I also wrote ‘no sexual experience’ on the questionnaire, but they did not confirm this before the ultrasound and performed a transvaginal ultrasound. It was more painful than I expected and surprised me🥲 I think I would have felt more at ease if they had explained it clearly beforehand.

    Several AIH cycles, 1 egg retrieval, 2 embryo transfers, then transferred to another hospital. Egg retrieval and transfers cost about 300,000 yen in total and were covered by insurance. As other reviews say, the doctor was kind. However, I was very disappointed by the doctor's reaction to the transfer result. The embryo was graded 4AA. I had the transfer using the SEET method, but the result was negative. The doctor held his forehead, stared dejectedly at the computer, and asked, ‘Why?! It was a 4AA embryo with about a 70% success rate. Why?’ This made me even more anxious and wonder whether something was wrong with my body. The doctor may have been trying to empathize with me, but his reaction made the situation feel truly terrible. When the second implantation result was negative, I asked whether I should undergo various tests. I was told, ‘Testing will not improve the pregnancy rate, so you should think about whether you want to do it.’ I did not know what to do next. I was too inexperienced at the time, and I do not think this clinic suited me. After transferring hospitals, I also found the administrative staff's attitude very poor. The nurses could sometimes be very inflexible. When I mentioned that one bandage for my self-injections was missing, they merely said, ‘Oh, sorry,’ in a flat voice.

    Every time I went, the disinfectant at the entrance and in the restroom was empty. There was never any toilet-seat disinfectant. The nurses were arrogant.

    I graduated from the clinic. I went there for testing and also received contraceptive pills subsidized by the city. The doctor took great care of me during later consultations. Everyone was skilled at drawing blood, the hospital was clean, appointments were easy to schedule, and the relatively long opening hours were very helpful. I wish Dr. Tanaka could continue seeing me after I become pregnant. It would be wonderful if he could provide care from prenatal checkups through contraception.

    We progressed from timed intercourse to IVF and became pregnant on the first attempt. The doctors were very kind and always supported me warmly, even when I was struggling, which helped me feel more positive. The nurses, receptionists, and all other staff were also very courteous and reassuring. I appreciated being able to make appointments on weekends or relatively late on weekdays, which allowed me to attend while balancing work. I safely graduated at the end of April and am now 12 weeks pregnant. Thank you very much for your help.

    I received infertility treatment here. The doctors, nurses, receptionists, and embryologists were all very kind and politely explained anything I did not understand, allowing me to attend appointments with peace of mind. During IVF, I was very nervous about the egg retrieval, but a nurse's gentle words helped me through it. I was also nervous during the embryo transfer, but the nurse pointed to the monitor and explained everything, helping me relax. Ultimately, after a positive test, the fetal heartbeat was confirmed and I successfully graduated from the clinic. I am glad I chose this clinic and would recommend it to anyone else struggling with infertility treatment.

    I think the appointment system clearly does not work well. I am very concerned about the current situation. It takes two hours just to receive documents, let alone have a consultation or examination. Booking in advance is meaningless. Frankly, an operating system that wastes so much of patients' time is seriously flawed. Since appointments are limited, the clinic should limit the number booked rather than simply requiring appointments. Accepting more patients than capacity allows lowers the quality of service for every patient and greatly reduces overall satisfaction. I strongly request a serious review and improvements from the patient's perspective.

    I attended this clinic for about a year because it offers free fertility consultations and is close to my workplace. Considering my age, the time we had been trying to conceive, and my previous cervical cancer surgery, I underwent testing first. Although the infertility tests found no particular problems, I proceeded through fertility evaluation, timed intercourse, IUI, and IVF. I became pregnant after my second IVF cycle and successfully graduated. The doctors were always kind and carefully explained anything that concerned me or that I did not understand. The nurses also left a strong impression; they were all cheerful and friendly. Even when I felt discouraged because I could not conceive, the hospital's relaxed and pleasant atmosphere helped me. During egg retrieval, the embryologist explained the condition of the eggs in detail, which reassured me. Wait times vary depending on how busy the clinic is that day, but the waiting room is comfortable and I could work there, which was convenient. Thank you very much!

    I had always wanted to become pregnant but had difficulty conceiving, so I came here because it was near my home and the doctor was a woman. I was anxious throughout testing and treatment, but thanks to the gentle doctor, I ultimately conceived safely. I wish I had come here sooner.     Dr. Tanaka has cared for me since my premarital examination. Later, when I developed irregular periods, he promptly provided appropriate treatment, allowing me to conceive successfully at an early stage. Even when I felt anxious and uncertain about the future, Dr. Tanaka always offered patient advice. This truly encouraged me to do my best, and I am very grateful.     An OB-GYN near my home told me I might need to advance to the next level of treatment, so I began looking for a new hospital. The doctor at the first hospital I found was very pragmatic, and we did not connect well during the initial consultation. I did not want to end up with a poor experience, so I wanted to learn about this hospital before deciding. I found its free consultation online and attended a consultation session in December 2024. Before the session, I completed a questionnaire about the medications I was taking, and the doctor even researched them specifically. He was very helpful that day. His sincere personality reassured me, so I decided to continue at this hospital despite the distance from home. Everyone, including the staff, was very kind, and examinations and consultations went smoothly. With ovulation-inducing medication and proper timing, I became pregnant soon after the transfer! Of course, this was thanks to accurate diagnosis and testing, but being able to attend the hospital without stress was also wonderful. I am now eight months pregnant and due in October.     Convenient location near Shibuya Crossing. The clinic primarily uses Japanese/Chinese and does not provide English forms. A staff member (I am unsure whether they were an interpreter) used a translation device to explain Chinese in another language, which took about 10–15 minutes. I was later told that patients who do not speak Japanese/Chinese need an interpreter or should find another clinic. 👉 Suitable for Japanese/Chinese speakers; not recommended for patients who rely on other languages.

    Although appointments are required, waits are long, and patients are often called an hour after their scheduled time. Perhaps because the director, Dr. Tanaka, is Chinese, there are many international patients.

    Thank you for helping with my infertility treatment. The clinic is open on weekends and holidays, making it convenient for my partner and me to attend together. After about six months of treatment, we successfully conceived.     The doctor was very kind and patient, which reassured me. However, he handled the consultations, egg retrieval, and implantation alone, which must have been a tremendous burden. Perhaps for that reason, waits were long and careless errors, such as submitting the wrong documents, occurred frequently. I was also surprised that medication prices not listed on the website were generally much higher than at other clinics. A 300 IU Gonal F Pen cost 25,000 yen as private treatment, about 10,000 yen above the average elsewhere. These differences add up. I wonder whether IVF treatment costs are generally higher because this is a private hospital.

    I received treatment here for infertility while trying for my first child. I was over 40 and did not expect such a quick result, but the first transfer succeeded. I sincerely appreciate your guidance and support. Because my wife was in poor health, we chose intrauterine insemination rather than IVF to minimize the strain on her. We had previously visited a clinic in Sendagaya, but its treatment and care made us anxious, leaving both my wife and me physically and emotionally exhausted.     Special thanks to Dr. Tanaka for her consistently kind treatment and care. The professionalism and comfort are among the best in Tokyo. The experienced nurses were exceptionally careful and thoughtful at every visit, easing much of my anxiety and tension. I transferred from another clinic after five unsuccessful embryo transfers, and my first transfer with Dr. Tanaka succeeded. I am truly grateful to Dr. Tanaka, and the laboratory's blastocyst culture techniques are excellent. Dr. Tanaka speaks Chinese, and some nurses also speak Chinese.     I chose this clinic for infertility treatment because the director is highly experienced, the clinic has a strong pregnancy-rate record, reviews described the director’s wonderful character, and, because the clinic had opened fairly recently, appointments were said to be easy to schedule. I became pregnant after my first IVF transfer and am now 7 months pregnant. For context, we skipped IUI and proceeded directly to IVF. The director is a wonderful female physician—very kind, warm, and almost motherly. When my husband and I attended our first appointment, I was impressed that she asked him, in essence, whether he was prepared to take an active role in raising a child. When I told her about my preexisting mental health condition and psychiatric care, she said she wanted to coordinate with my psychiatrist and did so. This allowed me to discuss my medications and gave me peace of mind. Few doctors go this far, and I found her exceptionally thorough. At every visit, she asked whether I had any other concerns, answered questions in detail, and resolved my doubts and anxiety. When I returned at 7 months pregnant to renew storage for my frozen embryos, she asked whether everything was going well and happily rubbed my belly with both hands. I was delighted. The reception staff answer questions carefully, and all the nurses are friendly and kind. The embryologist also explains everything thoroughly and, like the doctor, asks whether you have any questions. Depending on the day, a visit can take about 2 hours from arrival through payment. However, weekend and late-evening appointments are available, which was very helpful while working during infertility treatment. Appointments are easy to book through the app. Thanks to them, treatment went smoothly and I became pregnant without the stress of treatment-related anxiety. It is such a wonderful clinic that, honestly, I almost do not want to tell anyone about it, haha. Thank you to the doctor and every staff member. I expect to return when we try for a second child and look forward to your care again.

    I am usually afraid of seeing doctors, especially gynecologists, and get very nervous, but my overall experience at this hospital was excellent. Fortunately, limited Japanese was not a problem because Director Tanaka speaks excellent Chinese 👍. The examination was also very gentle 👍, and the diagnosis came quickly and was explained in detail.     I officially began treatment at Tanaka Women’s Clinic Shibuya IVF Center in January 2026 and am now 9 weeks pregnant. I am truly delighted. They understood my wishes, and these are my impressions: ① Primary care clinic Early in my fertility journey, I had been pregnant several times and spent six months trying at another IVF clinic without a satisfactory outcome. We ultimately chose Tanaka Women’s Clinic because of its advanced IVF technology and safe sex-selection interventions. ② Technical expertise The director of Tanaka Clinic is dedicated and patient, gives each patient time, creates appropriate treatment plans, and is meticulous. During blood draws, the clinicians were gentle and attentive, and they offered great encouragement before and after egg retrieval and transfer. The embryology laboratory staff were also dedicated, patient, and understanding of my anxiety. Overall impression: “The clinic is scientifically managed, respectful, and does not rush its work.” Thank you for all your help from infertility treatment through IVF and ultimately a successful pregnancy. Because this is my first pregnancy at an older age, I had many concerns. Thanks to the director’s precise, calm judgment and detailed explanations at every visit, I felt secure through the end. Treatment and medication decisions were always based on medical evidence and did not cause excessive anxiety. I was impressed by how clearly he explained what mattered at each stage. At every visit, he carefully checked embryonic development and the fetal heartbeat. This thorough follow-up was extremely important to me.     I initially visited for a premarital health screening. The results were normal, but because I wanted to become pregnant as soon as possible, we continued with timed intercourse.     Because I live overseas, I scheduled an appointment about two weeks before my visit and completed a detailed online questionnaire in advance, hoping to learn what testing or treatment might be possible during my limited stay in Japan. I clearly described my medical history, current fertility situation, and length of stay, and said I wanted to discuss any options available during that time. However, on the day of the appointment, no doctor examined me or provided an explanation. Instead, a nurse told me, “Unless you stay in Japan for at least one menstrual cycle, our clinic cannot offer you any services.” That was all. I did not even meet the doctor. Because I had explained my situation in detail beforehand, I believe the clinic should have told me before the appointment if it could not accommodate me during my stay. I was very disappointed because my time in Japan after returning from overseas was extremely limited. In a response to another customer, the clinic stated, “The doctor will personally conduct the initial consultation and explain your condition. Meeting with the doctor is considered a medical examination.” However, I did not meet the doctor at all. I therefore do not understand why I was charged an initial consultation fee. If you are traveling from far away or have limited time, it is best to confirm in advance whether the doctor can accommodate your schedule.

    This was my first infertility treatment, and I proceeded directly to in vitro fertilization. Implantation succeeded on the first attempt. After the pregnancy test was positive, I was so happy to see Dr. Tanaka's excited expression when I entered the consultation room and hear him congratulate me repeatedly.     I recommend this hospital to anyone undergoing infertility treatment: stop blaming yourself. I began treatment because of low AMH. After three embryo transfers at another hospital, implantation occurred, but each ended in an early miscarriage. I transferred here and conceived on the first transfer, ultimately delivering successfully. At my previous hospital, fertilization occurred in vitro, but few embryos reached the blastocyst stage. Four retrievals produced 13 eggs, only 3 of which were suitable for transfer, and none was particularly high quality. Because my husband had no identified issues, I blamed my eggs. Here I learned that centrifuging the sperm had caused DNA damage that prevented development to the blastocyst stage. The clinic used a selection method without centrifugation, and all 3 retrieved eggs became high-quality blastocysts. The healthiest-looking embryo was transferred, implanted on the first attempt, and resulted in a healthy baby. I was not pressured into unnecessary tests, and medication was minimized, reducing the burden on my body. Because of my low AMH, other hospitals used medium to high medication doses to stimulate follicles. Under Dr. Tanaka, reducing stimulation did not reduce the number of eggs retrieved and, in my view, improved their quality. I strongly recommend this hospital to anyone being treated for low AMH. The embryologists are highly skilled. They successfully cultured my eggs and made my previous painful experiences feel like a distant memory. This hospital clearly has an expert team. The nurses were also very considerate. When I felt anxious during egg retrieval, they held my hand, which deeply moved me. The doctor is highly skilled, and egg retrieval and embryo transfer were relatively painless. I realized that even with the same fertility treatment, outcomes can differ greatly depending on the doctor's approach and how well it suits the individual. If treatment has left you distressed and discouraged, I strongly suggest visiting this hospital before blaming yourself.

    Two weeks ago, the doctor could not identify even the basic cause and only wrote a referral to a larger hospital, which was already disappointing. Worse, when I came to collect the referral today, the front desk publicly ordered my quiet 14-year-old child to wait outside. Making a minor wait alone outdoors shows no concern for safety or basic common sense. Both the medical care and service were poor, with no empathy. A terrible experience.

    The doctor was extremely kind and reassuring and encouraged me at every visit! Everyone there always treated me thoughtfully, so I felt comfortable entrusting my care to them. After three timed-intercourse cycles and three intrauterine inseminations at another clinic, I transferred here with IVF in mind. Because my AMH was low, I planned to move to IVF after two more IUIs, but I conceived on my second IUI after transferring! Before changing clinics, I thought IUI results might not differ much between clinics, but I was thrilled to achieve this result thanks to the doctor.     I spent a year at this clinic without becoming pregnant, so I transferred elsewhere. I cannot assess the new clinic's results because my own health issues, as well as embryo culture techniques, may have affected the outcome. The clinic director, Dr. Tanaka, is kind, but the receptionists and nurses—especially several nurses in their 50s—were arrogant, condescending, and unfriendly, upsetting me repeatedly. I can therefore give only two stars. *Advantages - Waits are not long, up to about an hour and a half depending on the day. - Clinic director Dr. Tanaka is very attentive and skilled at internal examinations. - The clinic mainly uses low- to moderate-stimulation protocols to minimize physical strain. - Convenient access from Shibuya Station. - Late and weekend appointments are available. *Disadvantages - Egg retrieval is performed without anesthesia, causing severe pain. - We received only a one-minute explanation, and I had to pay a consultation fee for my husband even though he received no treatment. The clinic I transferred to does not do this. - The nurses' procedures and explanations often seemed to vary by person and were frequently inadequate. Even during the excruciating egg retrieval, they offered no support and instead rushed me. I remember them all being cold.

    I am a student from Taiwan. I was very anxious about seeing a gynecologist in Japan for the first time. Reviews of nearby clinics were mixed, and I briefly considered settling for one, but I was fortunate to find Tanaka Gynecology Clinic in Shibuya!     以前通院していましたが、不信感が募り転院しました。 ​1. プライバシーへの配慮が欠けている 待合室でスタッフ同士の私語や、他の患者さんの名前が頻繁に聞こえてきます。治療中で精神的にも過敏な時期だった事もあり、自分の個人情報もこのように扱われているのかと思うと不安で、強いストレスを感じました。 ​2. 連携が取れていない 医師と看護師の間で情報共有が全くできていないようです。さっき聞いた説明が数分後に他に伝わっていなかったり、看護師さんごとに説明が違ったりすることがありました。 ​通いやすい場所だっただけに、とても残念です。今は別の病院へ転院し、安心して通院できています。
