Dr. Kannappan Palaniappan, Malaysia

Dr. Kannappan Palaniappan specializes in infertility and IVF cycle treatment, male infertility and surgical sperm retrieval, minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, microsurgical tubal reversal and da Vinci robotic surgery.

Dr. Kannappan graduated from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) with a medical degree. He continued his studies and earned a master's degree in obstetrics and gynecology, then became a reproductive medicine specialist certified by the Malaysian Ministry of Health.

Before joining Sunway Medical Centre as a full-time obstetrician-gynecologist and fertility specialist, Dr. Kannappan headed the Reproductive Medicine Unit at Kuala Lumpur General Hospital from 2012 to 2014. He also headed the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Muar Government Hospital from 2001 to 2003.

Dr. Kannappan is committed to using his expertise to serve the Malaysian community. He is an advisor and fertility consultant to the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN), an agency under Malaysia's Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, and a member of the Malaysian Ministry of Health committee for subspecialty training in reproductive medicine. He has also been a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) since 2010.

He is actively involved in research in his specialty and speaks at medical conferences worldwide.
