If you heard how the nurses here talk about their patients and each other behind the scenes, you’d deliver your baby elsewhere. I couldn’t believe some of the things I was overhearing out of the mouths of the L&D nurses. I’m extremely disappointed.

I am writing as a happy husband and new father. My wife delivered our little one here, and I have nothing but praise for the medical staff. Everything was perfect from top to bottom! Every nurse who helped us was wonderful: Tessa, Brooke, Taylor, Lea, Lexi, Christine, Danielle, Jenn, Anne, and Morgan. Their warmth and comfort made me want to hug every one of them. Their care was heartfelt and sincere. Thank you, ladies, for everything you did. It meant so much to us. If you are expecting a baby, this is absolutely the place to go!

I doubt many people read hospital reviews, but our wonderful experience deserves to be shared. My wife and I welcomed our baby, Ellie, before 35 weeks of pregnancy, and neither of us was prepared for a premature birth. Although the process was stressful, everyone we met was incredibly genuine, kind, and considerate. I believe we would all agree that our experience at Methodist Women's Hospital was truly excellent. We feel fortunate to have been here. Thank you, everyone!

I had surgery yesterday and received wonderful care, from the receptionist and lovely nurses to the anesthesiologist and doctor. Everyone was extremely attentive. 🥰 Thank you so much; I am deeply grateful.

Since transferring from my previous doctor to Methodist Women's Hospital, I have received exceptional care. From my obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Mark Carlson, and his entire nursing team to the operating and recovery room nurses and the anesthesiologist, everyone was outstanding. This was my third surgery here within a year, and I am very grateful for a medical team that truly cares and takes our conditions seriously. I will always rate them 10/10.

Great hospital and wonderful medical team! My son has been in the NICU for almost two months, and they have taken excellent care of him. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses!

I gave birth to my son at this hospital on August 20, 2011. After he was born, the nurses repeatedly urged me to send him to the nursery. They said I should rest as much as possible because I would have no time to rest at home. I essentially replied that I would have to get used to caring for my son eventually. Like any new mother, I did not want him out of my sight. But because the nurses would not let it go, I finally agreed. The next morning, when they returned him, he was rhythmically waving both arms over and over. I told the nurse he had never done that before, but she said it might be caffeine withdrawal, even though I had no more than one caffeinated drink a day and rarely even that. More than ten years later, I learned that my son had received the hepatitis B vaccine and a vitamin K injection. No one told me beforehand or mentioned it afterward. I know I signed a treatment consent form on arrival, but they never gave me enough time to read it, and the print was tiny. It was also printed front and back, from top to bottom and edge to edge. Besides, who thinks to read a consent form while in labor? Even with a signed consent form, I had never received any treatment or vaccine without first being told. No one at that hospital mentioned the vaccine or vitamin injection. Now I understand why they were so insistent on taking my newborn son to the nursery. It had nothing to do with helping me. They wanted to give him the vaccine and vitamin K without telling me. The issue is not whether my son received them, but the hospital's extremely improper methods. I assume it is now too late to sue the hospital, but I certainly would if I could. After those injections, my son changed noticeably, and I was unable to continue breastfeeding. After returning from the nursery, he could not stay awake while feeding, meaning I had to feed him every hour for very short periods. As a single mother, this was unsustainable. Whenever I tried to pump, he woke up, so I could not do it. My milk never fully came in. Although I cannot say the feeding issue caused my low milk supply, I know I barely slept for two full weeks. I eventually had to supplement with formula because I could not tolerate the sleep deprivation, and sleep is essential for a new mother. I am furious at the people who did this to us. I feel violated and ashamed that I let them take my son. I need to share my experience so people know how this hospital operates. I do not know whether they still do this, but I would not be surprised. I pray others review their medical records carefully and speak up if the same thing happened to them. I would feel much better knowing they cannot do this anymore. Looking back at how my OB-GYN gave me a flu shot, I should have been more cautious. She gave me no chance to ask questions or decline; she simply put the needle in my arm and injected the vaccine without warning. Who treats a patient that way? What happened to informed consent laws?

The staff were wonderful, scheduled my testing quickly, and made the entire process fast. I am very pleased with this place.

I called to ask about transferring care late in pregnancy because I had signs of preterm labor and my doctor recommended follow-up. I had received care at this practice during my previous pregnancy, so I contacted them again. I understand that the practice may have policies regarding late transfers, but the receptionist rejected my request without consulting a nurse or doctor. Given my circumstances and history, I was simply hoping for guidance or at least a clinical review of my request. Most disappointing was the lack of empathy or willingness to help. As someone nearing delivery, I found their response very cold. A more considerate and supportive approach would have made a great difference.

I had an excellent care team during delivery, but my experience seeking postpartum mental health treatment shows exactly why so many women suffer in silence.

This five-star review is for one person only: Trish on the high-risk floor. Thank you so much for helping me today, February 16, 2026, around 10 a.m.! You are an excellent employee, communicate very well, and truly understood my situation. I think you are one of the best receptionists and wish you even greater success in the future. All the best!

They do not care about fathers' interests. The child's mother and I merely disagreed about the baby's name, and they removed me from the hospital. When I asked whether I could see my child, they told me the hospital does not perform any type of DNA testing. These people care only about the mother. Good luck.
    Feb 25, 2026
I would not return in a million years. Stay far away. If you are blue, you will receive great care—assuming you are willing to sacrifice your own child. If you are red, good luck. What they are doing here should be illegal.

I decided to write a review at the last minute. I highly recommend this hospital for expectant mothers or for babies who need to be transferred. The nurses and doctors take excellent care of babies, check on you regularly, make sure you are well, and keep you updated on your baby. After my third baby was born six weeks early—my second premature baby—I was frightened to hear that he would be transferred to this Omaha hospital. My doctor reassured me that it was an excellent hospital and that her own baby had also been transferred here. Now that I have seen how well my baby is being cared for, I am very pleased.

I came for testing, and the staff explained what to expect in detail and answered my questions quickly.

I never write reviews, but my experience in the Methodist Women's Hospital emergency room was exceptional. ER visits are usually stressful and unpleasant, yet every nurse and doctor treated me with genuine kindness, respect, and compassion from arrival. I felt heard at every step. Staff listened patiently, explained my condition, and ensured I understood and received proper care. Nurses were attentive and reassuring; doctors were diligent, thoughtful, and empathetic. Nobody wants an ER visit, but the Methodist team made it as positive as possible. Their professionalism, warmth, and patient-centered approach impressed me. I am very grateful and would choose this hospital again. Thank you, Methodist!

I went to this hospital because of severe pelvic pain. The nurse rushed through my medical history, I never saw a doctor, and I only saw a nurse. I did not mind waiting for test results, but they gave me almost no information afterward. I have never felt so rushed or inconvenienced at any hospital. I had hoped this "women's" clinic would provide the quality of care missing from other hospitals and clinics, but I was wrong. I might as well have stayed home in pain, since that is where I am now. They discharged me with only the most basic information, so I am still in severe pain and know only a small part of the cause. Considering what they charge, the staff could show more compassion and care. I strongly recommend seeking emergency care elsewhere.

⸻ I recently delivered at Methodist Hospital and had a wonderful experience. From admission onward, Dr. Allison Phillips and her team kept me comfortable, informed, and cared for. I never expected a vaginal birth, but her guidance, encouragement, and skill helped me deliver my first baby vaginally. Support continued through postpartum follow-up. The postpartum and lactation teams provided outstanding care, comfort, and practical help, and even meal delivery improved the experience. Every staff member worked hard to keep me comfortable and safe. I am deeply grateful and highly recommend the hospital to expectant mothers.

From the clinic and delivery team to the postoperative nurses and clinicians at Methodist Women’s Hospital, we received exceptional care. They were attentive, compassionate, patient with me as a new mother, and always available. I highly recommend Dr. Mark Carlson and his team. 🩷

I have had mammograms at Methodist Women's Hospital for at least ten years, and I have no plans to go anywhere else. They consistently keep up with the latest technology needed for women's healthcare. They take excellent care of patients, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The hospital grounds are beautiful... and for at least two years, they have ensured that a mother goose and her goslings remain comfortable and safe in a nest in the courtyard. They are committed to serving all types of women.

Terrible!!! Even if this were the last open emergency room and your life depended on it, it would tell you to drive away as quickly as possible! You are better off treating yourself. They keep deleting my reviews. I arrived facing a life-threatening situation and was assaulted while trying to leave, yet they completely ignored me. Charges have been filed and a lawsuit initiated. I have spoken with an attorney.

I had surgery here yesterday and had never visited this hospital before. Everyone was warm and friendly and seemed genuinely concerned about me. The process was quick and convenient, and all my questions were answered. I would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone seeking good care and treatment.

I arrived thinking my appendix had ruptured, but instead needed emergency surgery to remove a large ovarian cyst. Every doctor and nurse took excellent care of me. They remained calm and reassured me even at my worst. I used to fear hospitals, but they made me feel comfortable and well cared for.

I felt comfortable and heard while in the emergency room. What surprised and shocked me was reviewing the clinical notes afterward in the app. The record quoted statements I never made. I came for severe back pain, but it said abdominal pain. My husband, who was in the ER throughout, was also surprised. The notes also said a urine test was performed, but no one told me until I was nearly discharged, after I had used the restroom three hours into my stay. I drove farther because I did not trust the standard of care at CHI Lakeside's ER. After this experience, I will never visit a Methodist emergency room again. I felt humiliated and patronized. I thought a women's hospital would respect women more, but I was wrong. Despite five prior surgeries and scans documenting my condition, I was treated like a complaining woman.

I was brought here by ambulance barely hanging onto life. I was in and out of consciousness and rushed into a emergency surgery. I know without a doubt I am only here today because of the quick actions of the staff. Thank you to everyone here that had a hand in the ER that day I am only here today because of you.

My wife was in so much pain that she could not walk or sit, so we came by ambulance. They simply put her in a wheelchair and left her in the waiting room. It has now been almost an hour; we would have been better off treating her at home. We will never return!

I delivered my fourth daughter this weekend and had a wonderful experience with no unpleasant staff interactions. The food was excellent and nutritious compared with other hospitals. Thank you to everyone involved, especially labor-and-delivery nurse ALEXIS B—you were my MVP! I had never delivered naturally, and without her I could not have done it. She prepared me mentally and physically, helped us through, and explained everything so we could make informed decisions without pressure. In that vulnerable moment I entrusted her with my life and, most importantly, my baby's, which deserves special recognition. Keep being a guiding light; you will go far. Thank you for everything. See you next time—just kidding, I am done having babies.

A truly terrible medical facility! Billing refused to submit my claim without a paper authorization number. You might expect some flexibility for a disabled veteran who served in war, but I do not know whether they looked down on me more for being disabled or a veteran. When I called, they threatened collection. A VA representative contacted a supervisor for me, but they still refused to help. The VA said this was far outside normal medical practice and advised me not to return. They clearly care only about money. Care was slow and rude. Stay away!

My wife has a chronic illness. She sees her primary care doctor and other physicians, but when she needs immediate care, we go to the emergency room. It is terrible for an ER doctor to tell patients to stop using the ER as their 'primary care doctor' when their chronic illness could genuinely be life-threatening. The doctor then said, 'You can come back if it gets worse, but it would be better if the record showed that you saw your primary care doctor first.' I cannot remember ever calling a primary care doctor and getting a same-day appointment. So where should we go in an emergency? Dr. Jacobson should learn some bedside manner before continuing to treat ER patients. This is the second time we have encountered him, and he is truly rude. I will not let my wife sit there suffering because he does not want to do his job.

The emergency room and operating room staff saved my life. I cannot thank you enough. God bless you💗

I wanted my tubes tied 6 years ago and Dr Carlson completely removed them without asking. If he would of listened to what I wanted I would be able to do something to have another child.

An unexpected 21-day hospital stay: 10 days of prenatal care for my wife and 11 days in the NICU for our son. The care was attentive, and both the nurses and doctors were excellent. After returning home, we even received thoughtful handwritten notes from several nurses in the mail. We felt God's presence throughout the process, and Methodist Women's Hospital will always hold a special place in our hearts.

I cannot say enough good things about Methodist Women's Hospital! During pregnancy, I could not see my excellent OB-GYN, Dr. Kling, regularly, so they scheduled me with whichever nurse practitioner was available, and every one I saw was wonderful. During delivery, I had the best nurses. They truly turned what could have been a difficult life transition into a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this hospital for excellent care!

I want to say that I really appreciated the front desk staff and emergency department nurses. They took my concerns seriously. I have been hospitalized since childhood for kidney-related problems. I do not go to the emergency department unless something feels wrong, and I take these visits seriously because I do not want to put myself through the stress of that environment. I had nearly fainted and become pale. At home, my blood pressure dropped, my pulse was slow, the room was spinning, and I had severe chest pain. This happened both when sitting and standing, without any preceding stressful event. I was calm and well hydrated. I explained my concerns to the nurse caring for me and said I was not there without reason. I have previously been diagnosed with PTSD and a restrictive eating disorder. I have never experienced chest pain because of anxiety or standing up too quickly. I have lived through things nobody should experience and have never had a panic attack or chest pain, so believe me, the emergency room is minor by comparison. I cried for a long time before the doctor entered because I knew that once a woman became emotional, the first explanation would be anxiety. The doctor said this before we had even done additional tests to confirm anything. I have ADHD, so it is difficult to advocate for myself. I also work in health care and take every concern seriously. When I pressed further, my husband and I noticed the doctor's attitude. The doctor disclosed that three other patients that night also had anxiety. This was extremely unprofessional. You cannot discuss other patients, even without revealing HIPAA information. The doctor's remarks devastated me. I have lived in this body for 22 years and genuinely felt something was very wrong. My sister had also been hospitalized for heart inflammation a few months earlier. Doctors do incredible work and save lives, and I am grateful for everything they do. The same is true of nurses. I am not someone who goes from place to place complaining. It is sad that I knew what would happen before the doctor entered the room. I was genuinely concerned about receiving inadequate care, but nobody really asked what was bothering me. Knowing I have ADHD, he should have considered that I may have sensory issues, poor executive functioning, and difficulty maintaining a conversation. The only thing he accomplished was making me retreat and stop asking questions. He confirmed my beliefs. I appreciate the nurses performing these tests and easing my concerns. I know emergency department shifts are long. A night goes better if you avoid frustrated sighs and discussing other patients and simply treat people kindly. Even if you do not care, at least act as though you do. My chest still hurts today. I suppose I am just anxious, right? If they truly had no other answer, he would not have kept returning to anxiety.

We had our baby at Methodist Women's Hospital. I cannot believe what a wonderful experience it was. The nurses were amazing!
    Jul 10, 2025
I had a lump in my chest that needed evaluation. The experience was excellent! The staff were very friendly. I was worried that I would be the only man, but when I entered the women's hospital, they treated me no differently. Melissa Manzer was also an excellent doctor. She told me that all the findings were benign, looked me in the eye, and patiently answered all my questions. I was in and out with my results, an ultrasound, and a mammogram in only one hour.

There is no better place to give birth. I have had three children, two of them here, and I have no complaints at all!
    Feb 12, 2025
I called with a question about a health problem I was experiencing, but they hung up on me.
    Feb 17, 2025
There is a special place in heaven for these nurses! I delivered my newborn triplets here, and they are now 10 years old and healthy! Thank you! These nurses are beyond heroes; they are angels. I think of you every day with tears of joy! You will never know how many possibilities you created!
    Feb 20, 2025
The nurses here are wonderful, but billing is another matter. As a loyal Methodist patient for various procedures, I was still sent to collections even though I paid $100-200 toward my medical bills every month. I spoke with the billing department in Bristol and asked whether we could negotiate or meet somewhere in the middle. Billing said my doctor would not negotiate, which is why I was sent to collections. On top of that, billing constantly harasses you with phone calls. It would be different if I paid $20 or frequently missed payments, but I did not. This shows that the company truly cares only about money, because no other company has harassed me so much over medical bills. Other companies are also flexible about how much you pay monthly. I am disappointed because, as I said, the nursing care here was excellent, unlike the doctors and billing department.

My mother developed a urinary tract infection that spread to her kidneys. This hospital performed a UA and sent her home but “lost” the culture order. It could have ended very badly if she had not gone elsewhere the next day. Stay away!

**Reported to the state medical board** During an emergency, Dr. Alison M. Benson was dismissive, rude, incompetent, and lacking in compassion. She treated my young son cruelly and misdiagnosed him. The nurses were wonderful and seemed to know she was terrible. I genuinely believe this woman poses a danger to any potential patient under her care.
    Jan 14, 2025
We were waiting for my daughter to dilate, and her night nurse was extremely rude to me throughout the experience. She kept saying I was interfering with my daughter's labor. My daughter wanted me there, and the nurse became angry because I left the room for a minute to calm down. She ruined our experience.
    Jan 15, 2025
I cannot say enough bad things about my ER experience. Some people were nice. The last person I saw was rude and dismissive. I am trying to identify her because I could barely walk, and she simply left me alone. She did not tell me where the exit was or offer help. If I knew who she was, I would file a complaint. Avoid this place at all costs. I completely wasted my money there. By the way, do not respond with a template. I am very confident the email will never be addressed.
    Jan 28, 2025
I recently needed care here after losing an expected baby. I required outpatient surgery under general anesthesia. My OB-GYN belongs to a private group, so I cannot comment on the hospital's OB-GYNs. The anesthesiologist was courteous and skilled, but otherwise unremarkable. I must recognize the exceptional care I received during an extremely difficult time. My husband and I were treated with more compassion and care than I could have imagined. My preoperative nurse, Juley, was kind, friendly, and communicative while giving us private time to discuss our wishes and process the moment. She always told us when she would return, easing my anxiety while waiting. My PACU nurse, Christine, was exactly the gentle nurse I needed when I woke. She was calm, reassuring, and showed genuine care as well as excellent skill. We received grief-support resources and clear instructions about what to expect physically. Thank you to Methodist Women's Hospital for caring for our family during a very difficult time. I also delivered our second child here in 2020 and had a good natural-birth experience, again with a private midwifery team. I did have to advocate at times for my natural approach and labor/delivery preferences, but my midwives also supported them, which made things much easier. I would recommend Methodist Hospital for care. Remember that having a private-practice midwife can help you advocate for a natural approach within the hospital system.
