Although my husband and I ultimately did not choose them for unrelated reasons, their intake process, assisted by Cailtin, and our meeting with Dr. Kumar were extremely supportive. Their communication was prompt, effective, thoughtful, and considerate. I cannot overstate the importance of good follow-up and evaluation during a process like this. After trying for several years, my partner and I decided to pursue IVF, and Dr. Kumar was unquestionably the best person we could have found. Although the process was not always smooth, I never lost hope, largely because of Dr. Kumar’s steady guidance. He was always honest and kind and shared information at the right time. He helped me focus on the present instead of becoming overwhelmed by “what ifs” or what might happen in the future. This approach made an emotionally difficult journey feel manageable and supported. Our second IVF cycle was successful, and I am now 29 weeks pregnant. Transitioning to my obstetrician-gynecologist brought mixed emotions because it meant saying goodbye to Dr. Kumar and his exceptionally caring nursing team, who supported me throughout.

For several months, I worked closely with registered nurses Courtney and Caitlin. They were kind, responsive, and helpful, and it was a pleasure working with them. I had my embryo transfer today, and Dr. Kumar completed it before I could even ask whether he had started! He was very kind, and I felt nothing during the procedure. It was a wonderful experience. The nurses brought me a photo of the blastocyst and an ultrasound image of the transfer, memories I will always cherish. Dr. Kumar’s humor also created a relaxed atmosphere, which meant a great deal to me. The entire team was professional, compassionate, and reassuring. I am very grateful for their care and highly recommend them to anyone on the same journey. I had a wonderful experience and will continue working with them in the future.

The best! We began IVF at a local clinic but quickly realized its chaotic atmosphere was not right for us. We consulted USC and Acacio Fertility, but ultimately trusted our instincts and chose Dr. Kumar and Western Fertility. They have been a blessing to our family! After one highly successful egg retrieval—something our local clinic somehow never achieved—two successful IVF cycles, and one successful reciprocal IVF cycle, I can confidently say we made the right choice. We had a wonderful experience at WFI, and I am now 26 weeks pregnant with a boy. From the beginning, Dr. Kumar explained our options in detail and recommended the approach with the highest chance of success. Because he honestly told us that intrauterine insemination (IUI) was unlikely to work for us, we went directly to in vitro fertilization (IVF). I believe this saved us considerable money and heartache, and we are very grateful for his honesty. At this time last year, having a child was still a distant dream. Our journey to Western Fertility Institute began with a difficult reality and several devastating diagnoses. We immediately understood that building our family would require specialized medical care, so we chose a clinic carefully. We visited fertility clinics across the country—we live in Alabama—including clinics in Alabama, Georgia, Minnesota, California, and elsewhere. No doctor impressed us like Dr. Kumar. From our first consultation, Dr. Kumar was calm, direct, and confident. He clearly explained our options, detailed what would be required to achieve pregnancy, and developed a practical plan. What set him apart was not only his expertise but his conviction. When I told him how much this meant to us, he said, “It is not a question of whether I can get you pregnant, but when. I do not accept failure.” After the call, I looked at my husband and said, “He is the one. This is the clinic.” We immediately decided to work with this team, even if it meant traveling across the country. IVF is no small undertaking. The anxiety, fear, and emotional strain can be overwhelming, and you cannot anticipate how many questions you will suddenly have about your body. Western Fertility Institute stands out because of its communication. They clearly explained every step and set clear expectations. Everything felt transparent, with no concealment or confusion. I never felt like a number. I was a person. We both were. My emails were answered. Every question, even small or repeated ones, received a response. I was assigned a dedicated nurse and coordinator, Courtney, whose importance to this journey cannot be overstated. She answered questions, addressed concerns, calmed me when I was anxious, and skillfully brought Dr. Kumar into the discussion when I became overwhelmed. Communication was consistently thoughtful and caring. During a journey often filled with fear and anxiety, Western Fertility made us feel calm, secure, and supported. We initially had five good-quality, PGT-tested embryos. The first transfer failed. Dr. Kumar did not give up; he listened carefully to our concerns. He agreed to every possible test to help us find answers and gain peace of mind. That decision produced an unexpected diagnosis: adenomyosis, which had caused no symptoms and is easily missed. Dr. Kumar immediately adjusted the treatment plan, assured us we could still become pregnant, and guided us through several months of suppression with clarity and confidence. We trusted and followed the plan exactly. For the second transfer, I flew to California feeling nervous but hopeful. Five days later—earlier than I was supposed to test—I saw a faint line. Now that line is in my arms. Our daughter, Olivia Grace, entered the world healthy and perfect, everything we dreamed of. She is here because of the clinical skill, effective communication, and unwavering support of Dr. Kumar, Courtney, and the entire Western Fertility Institute team. Perhaps the best evidence of our experience is that only four days postpartum, I was already excitedly discussing our next embryo transfer with my husband. My experience at Western Fertility was wonderful. Before coming here, I went to a much larger clinic where I often felt like just a number. Since transferring to Western Fertility, everything has been completely different. I feel genuinely cared for as a person, not merely as a patient. Lens is an excellent nurse: knowledgeable, compassionate, and always supportive. Dr. Kumar also took plenty of time to understand my situation and made me feel reassured and cared for at every step. Before the embryo transfer, I felt extremely uncomfortable and even cried. Despite drinking so much water, my bladder was not completely full. He said, ‘I guess you cannot follow the rules.’ I had pushed myself, and I felt my own experience had been ruined. I was excited to help another mother have a child, but he completely took away my smile in one visit. If I could give no stars, I would. I did my best, but my own friend had to comfort and calm me before they returned to begin the transfer.

I just want to thank Western Fertility Institute. From beginning to end, everyone was wonderful and very understanding toward my husband and me. Dr. Kumar is the best, as are his clinical and administrative staff. We like being in control of our lives, and infertility takes that away. Dr. Kumar provided the perfect balance of information, compassion, and guidance. He made recommendations, offered perspective, and answered questions without making us feel rushed or like a number. We had a terrible experience at another clinic near Encino: poor service, no attention to detail, and incompetent office staff who constantly apologized while continuing to make mistakes. The difference was night and day, and we had peace of mind going through the process with an excellent team that cared about its patients.

I am so grateful to Dr. Kumar and everyone at WFI for helping us grow our family! WFI was my second opinion while dealing with secondary infertility, and after the initial consultation it was easy to decide to stay with WFI. Dr. Kumar proposed an action plan and a reasonable timeline; my nurse Jessica was always supportive and patient with my questions and concerns. My IVF journey was successful and relatively short thanks to this excellent team!

Unfortunately, I had a truly terrible experience. My transfer at this clinic was physically traumatic and caused bleeding because the procedure was careless and rough, making implantation less likely. The room looked like something from the developing world, and the so-called medical assistant was cruel, rude, rough, indifferent, and disrespectful, making the process even more painful. I later checked the laboratory and found it was not accredited, despite the clinic's heavy promotion. When the transfer failed, they requested about $7,000 for another transfer without telling me when it would begin. I also paid over $45,000 for 12 donor eggs but received only two alleged embryos. Someone needs to alert authorities to the fraud occurring at this clinic.

Dr. Kumar is the best! He cared deeply about us, and I genuinely looked forward to appointments just to see him and his lovely staff. Everyone in the office was friendly and welcoming. We are so grateful for our success, all thanks to the outstanding WFI team!
