I've been going to Chena Health for a few years and am always impressed with the care I receive. The staff are very professional, knowledgeable, and reliable. They listen to what you truly want. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs an exceptional provider!

Great office with friendly staff!

I absolutely love Delys! From the start, she provided loving, professional, and personalized care that made me feel reassured and supported at every step of my pregnancy. Her calm presence and encouragement made me feel confident, secure, and well cared for throughout my pregnancy. She always answered my questions patiently and listened to my concerns. If you are looking for a midwife who truly cares about her patients and goes above and beyond, I wholeheartedly recommend Delys!

I have been a patient at Chena Health OB-GYN for several years. Dr. DeLys Cooks always provides excellent medical care; she is warm, compassionate, and highly skilled. I love her personality and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone who needs care, whatever stage of life you are in—bringing a new life into the world, welcoming grandchildren... She is kind and funny, and I am always happy to see her. The clinic itself is efficient and comfortable, and every staff member I have encountered has been friendly. They return calls quickly when needed, wait times are short, and the location is convenient. Chena Health lives up to its name—highly recommended!

I just had my baby, and the doctors kept changing. My doctor even got my due date wrong—it was such a mess, lol. When I went into labor, they told me Dr. Whittier would perform my C-section. I had never met her and was scared because Dr. Shoemaker, or whatever her name was, was originally supposed to do it. I was nervous because she looked young, but I am so glad she did it! She did an excellent job and made me feel safe. God sent her to me, and I am very grateful 🙏 She also performed my tubal ligation. God bless her. Otherwise, the clinic itself was average. The front desk was great, but the back office was disorganized. I believe Brooke handled surgery scheduling, but she never did her job properly. I called countless times and finally gave up and left it to fate. I left voicemails and gave her my insurance information, but she never responded. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Whittier! I also met Dr. Hogan and Dr. Shoemaker, and they were very kind and made me feel comfortable.

The worst place.

For over a decade, I was told I only had polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and needed birth control pills and weight loss to cure it. After three years of trying to conceive, I finally found the amazing women at Chena Health. When I told Dr. Whittier that I strongly suspected endometriosis, she listened without hesitation. She performed exploratory surgery, which went very well and confirmed the diagnosis. She then recommended fertility treatment with the excellent Dr. Kinzea Jones, who has also helped me tremendously. Even the nurses are kind and supportive. Thanks to these wonderful women, I cannot wait to see two lines on a pregnancy test ❤️

I want to update my review now that several years have passed. Delys Cook cared for me during my first pregnancy. She was extremely attentive and eased all my anxiety. As a first-time mother, I was already nervous, so her care was very helpful and reassuring. Heidi May later delivered my baby, with Dr. Shumacher involved because I developed complications. Overall, it was a wonderful experience as a new mother, and I received excellent care. When complications arose afterward, Delys always responded promptly to my calls or messages. My healthy 7-month-old baby and I are very grateful for the entire experience.

The doctors at this clinic do not respect appointments. I scheduled surgery with Dr. Schumacher, but the date and time were changed three times! The latest change came only an hour and a half before my appointment. If possible, go elsewhere. If my appointment is changed one more time, I will definitely switch doctors.

100/10! I saw Dr. Heidi May, and she was absolutely perfect. This was my first pregnancy, and I was anxious throughout. After the first trimester, I saw her frequently for several minor concerns, but she was always so kind and made me feel valued and heard. If I needed to bring something from home or leave a message for her nurse, I received a response within an hour or two, or she called me as soon as possible. She is extremely patient and kind and beautiful inside and out. I cannot imagine having any doctor other than her. My delivery was very difficult, and she delivered my son with the same exceptional care. If I have another baby, I would even move back to Alaska just to have her as my obstetrician.

My physician is rarely in town, so scheduling with her is a nightmare. I urgently needed a prescription medication that I must take every day, but they refused to help me. I was extremely frustrated, and they treated me like a difficult patient on the phone. Ultimately, they refused to help me obtain the medication I needed simply because my doctor was on vacation. It is ironic that patients suffer because of your incompetent staff.

I have been receiving care here for more than 11 years, and every experience has been excellent. All the healthcare staff are wonderful!

I had a primary care doctor dismiss my many symptoms as anxiety. I left in tears and went to the emergency room, where I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. The ER doctor knew as soon as I described my symptoms. A week has passed, and the only person who can refer me to a specialist is my primary care doctor, but she still has not done so. I called the day I went to the ER to ask whether I needed to see her again, and they said no, the referral would go through. I have now been taking a beta blocker for a month. What happens next?! They will let you down at this office.

Over the past month, Dr. Mayer, Dr. Amundson, and nurse Charity made me feel more heard than ever before. Medical issues can be challenging and worrying, and each of them helped me cope and eased my concerns. Thank you to everyone at Chena!

Many visits to this type of office can be quite sensitive. With that in mind, the staff did an excellent job of making me feel very comfortable. They were also thoughtful about scheduling, and I am particular. Thank you, ladies!

I had a terrible experience with Heidi May in gynecology. I called to schedule my first Pap smear because of persistent uterine pain. Heidi asked standard questions about me and my sexual history, then immediately became highly judgmental. I said I had previous partners but had been with the same partner for three years. She implied that I had cheated on my husband and recently had sex with someone else because my symptoms had only just begun. I was shocked and said no. She insisted I had an STI and needed testing. I said I did not believe I had one because symptoms had only now appeared—the only STI that may remain asymptomatic for years is HIV/AIDS—but she pressured me into testing. I thought she was also performing the Pap smear I had booked, but weeks later discovered it had never been done. My STI tests were entirely negative, and she made me feel judged and ashamed of my past. I now owe $1,000 in medical bills, still have the same problem, do not know what to do, and refuse to return. This was extremely unprofessional behavior for such intimate, personal work. I also told her I had recently stopped birth control and thought it might be related. She asked whether I wanted to restart it. I said no, because I wanted to track my cycle naturally rather than take medication. She looked me in the eye and asked, ‘Are you ready to have a baby?’ Caught off guard, I said, ‘I am married. We are not necessarily trying, but we would be excited if it happened.’ While writing, she raised her eyebrows, rolled her eyes, and said okay. I would never recommend her to anyone.

This place is absolutely wonderful. I had received little medical care since an appendectomy 7–8 years ago, and deciding to schedule health appointments caused me significant anxiety. Shannon made it a wonderful experience. Everyone from the front desk to the back-office staff was pleasant. Shannon had an excellent bedside manner, guided me through everything, and was kind throughout. Thank you all very much!
