My wife and I were very disappointed with our visit to this doctor. The appointment began abruptly, with almost no introduction, and she was immediately curt. Within minutes, she made sarcastic remarks and drew conclusions based on our ages and medical records without taking time to understand our individual circumstances. She presented her views very rigidly, saying that the only viable option in her opinion was surrogacy with donor sperm. While we respect established medical data, we also understand that fertility research and approaches continue to evolve. Unfortunately, she was completely unwilling to consider a broader discussion or different perspectives. I am now seeking second opinions from other fertility specialists, and this experience confirmed that I will not continue treatment with her. Her approach felt cold and outdated, and the process lacked the empathy and communication expected in such a sensitive and personal area of medicine. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this doctor. Patients deserve to feel heard, respected, and supported, especially when facing something as important as family planning. I hope this feedback leads to better patient communication and care. If good doctor-patient communication matters to you, I suggest looking elsewhere. I appreciate honesty and directness, but Dr. Luman came across as cold and unsympathetic, especially during our first visit. I would never recommend this clinic. No one should face such an uncaring attitude during such an important stage of life.

Terrible experience with both the staff and the clinic overall. They rarely answer the phone and wasted both our time and thousands of dollars. I would not recommend going there unless you’re desperate and willing to deal with poor communication, unnecessary expenses, and disrespectful treatment from the front desk staff. We switched to CNY and had much better results in a shorter amount of time and at a much lower cost. Their team was professional, respectful, and far more welcoming throughout the entire process.

Dr. Christopher Montville and his entire team are truly the most amazing people ever. After walking through this journey with us, they blessed us with the greatest gift imaginable-our sweet baby boy, Maverick arriving in September 2026. We are beyond grateful for the kindness, compassion, support, and care we have received every step of the way. Dr. Montville and his team have made us feel heard, cared for, hopeful through it all. We will never be able to thank them enough for helping make our dream come true. Forever grateful for this incredible team. -The Lawrence's

Overall, I had a good experience with this clinic. The team communicates very directly and honestly, which I personally appreciated. They focus on the medical process and the steps needed to help you reach your fertility goals. At times the clinic can feel somewhat impersonal and fast-paced, and you may feel like one of many patients, but the staff are knowledgeable and experienced. What stood out most was their honesty and guidance throughout. They clearly explained expected outcomes, offered helpful feedback, and stayed focused on developing the best treatment plan.

My OB-GYN referred me to this clinic, and they called me that same day. They said the earliest opening was in June, three months away. They told me to complete forms before the appointment so I could be added to the waitlist for an earlier date. I had not completed them by the next day because the webpage would not load and I was having a miscarriage. They called twice and emailed twice each day. I explained that I would respond as soon as possible because I was miscarrying. Four days after the first call, following nonstop calls, they called at seven a.m. Monday to say my appointment had been canceled. This is clearly a profit-driven, compassionless company focused on enrolling patients as quickly as possible. I have never encountered a company claiming to help women while calling so relentlessly. I am sorry I was not thinking about forms for an appointment three months away while grieving the loss of my baby. Many reviews here describe the clinic as cold and money-driven. They treated me this way before I even had a consultation. Find a professional clinic, not this fertility assembly line.

There is a reason why all of our specialists (endocrinologist, wife’s obgyn, wife’s PT, wife’s doula, and friends all suggest making the trip from Nashville to Tn reproductive medicine in Chattanooga, Nashville fertility or the NY Dr office if needing to stay here in Nashville (Basically all the options except for TFI). The Experience and communication from front desk all the way through to the doctor is one of the worst experiences we’ve been through. And have had to work with a specialist for all of our children. We previously worked with TRM while living in Chatt and it was phenomenal. The only thing that TFI had made abundantly clear is that the men are not their patients, and it is felt without question. Avoid if at all possible, yet we understand and got tempted by the convenience factor being only a few minutes away.

I am so grateful we found Tennessee Fertility Institute and Dr. Montville. My husband and I had been trying for another child since a miscarriage in 2023 without success. We had visited another fertility clinic but did not feel heard. My sister-in-law recommended Tennessee Fertility Institute, and it was the best decision we made. They took the time to understand our situation and find the cause of our infertility. Dr. Montville was warm and patient, explained every treatment process, and was dedicated to helping us achieve our dream of having a child. We are now 9 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby and could not be more grateful or happy. Although we have now graduated from treatment, we would definitely return to Dr. Montville for a second child. I also cannot say enough good things about everyone at Tennessee Fertility Institute, from the receptionists and phlebotomists to the ultrasound technicians and nurses. Everyone was kind and responded promptly to messages.

Dr. Montville and his team are wonderful and extremely kind and caring. We chose IVF for personal reasons, and they did everything possible to help us achieve our goal. I am now pregnant, thanks to the TFI team. They are definitely 10/10, and their work is equally outstanding.

I previously received care at another clinic in Nashville and transferred to Tennessee Fertility Institute because of insurance. I feel very fortunate to be here. Every staff member is attentive, positive, thoughtful, knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate. Dr. Montville is highly skilled, patient, kind, and ethical. I never felt like a burden here, and I completely trust the care they provide.

Of all the fertility clinics I consulted, this was the most expensive and least compassionate. IVF treatment can cost as much as $40,000, and I expected professional medical care guided by the principle of "first, do no harm." That was not my experience. I was required to attend a "fertility consultation" that was presented as educational but was overpriced and felt coercive. After only a 90-minute session, they hastily summarized and reported my deepest trauma without any transparency. They then told me they would not recommend IVF unless I obtained a formal mental health evaluation. Being asked to revisit past trauma and then having additional barriers imposed felt harmful. People seeking IVF are often highly vulnerable, yet this process lacked compassion. As someone who has cared for my mental health for years and worked in behavioral health for 12 years, I find it difficult to accept a doctor determining such a personal decision as whether to pursue fertility treatment. This approach may work for the typical married heterosexual couple in Tennessee, but as a single woman seeking IVF, I did not feel supported or treated fairly.

I have nothing but praise for this clinic. They were a breath of fresh air and gave my husband and me tremendous relief. Other doctors had dismissed my pain and infertility, but I always felt that something was wrong. Someone told me, "You can try TFI if you really want to," so I did. In 2023, I began treatment with Dr. Colleen Miller. She welcomed me warmly and listened carefully to my concerns. After my first ultrasound, she was shocked by what other doctors had missed and strongly recommended laparoscopic surgery before any fertility intervention. Because of that surgery in November 2023, I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis. I am deeply grateful that she worked tirelessly to identify the cause. I then paused fertility treatment for a while and even considered another, less expensive clinic. Honestly, I regret wasting time at that clinic and wish I had gone directly to TFI for fertility treatment. When I was ready in early 2025, Dr. Miller developed a complete treatment plan for me. She understood that my endometriosis was severe and required prompt treatment, so I began IVF almost immediately. After every visit with her, I felt reassured and confident in the team's expertise. The nurses and doctors responded quickly to all my many questions, and the doctor called with updates. I finally felt that I had a strong team behind me, which relieved a great deal of stress for my husband and me. The entire process was extremely difficult, but such a supportive team made it much easier. Dr. Miller left TFI before my transfer cycle began, but I was not worried that her departure would affect my care. Dr. Montville immediately took over my embryo transfer cycle, and I am delighted to share that I am now 19 weeks pregnant with twins. Thank you so much, TFI team!!

Choosing to transfer to TFI was absolutely the wisest decision we made on our family-building journey! From the first consultation, Dr. Montville made us feel heard, supported, and genuinely cared for. He patiently explained every step. His empathy helped us tremendously through a process that can feel overwhelming. The TFI team was extremely helpful and patiently answered even our simplest or silliest questions without making us feel worse than the medication side effects already did! Thanks to Dr. Montville and the TFI team, we now have the hope and joy we dreamed of. I highly recommend TFI to anyone beginning or continuing their family-building journey. They are truly the best choice.

First, the doctor is kind and has nothing to do with this issue. I deleted my previous review, but after speaking with the front desk representative, I believe she is what upset me. She said I needed to call on the first day of my period or at another time because I could not be seen this month. I understand, but what happens when I call and still cannot get in? She suggested having an HSG through my OB-GYN. I came here because my son was stillborn, which was what led me to an OB-GYN in the first place. Her suggestion upset me, and she said it would be cheaper through my OB-GYN. They had no problem ensuring they received the consultation fee. So I paid for a consultation only to be sent back to my OB-GYN. Thank you for clarifying; it was a waste of money and nothing happened. Given my son's stillbirth, no one should have suggested returning to my OB-GYN. That is why we sought a place that would not be triggering. She said everyone working there had experienced pregnancy loss. If so, they should understand.

Infertility can cause great anxiety because of so many unknowns, but Dr. Montville eased our concerns by explaining our options and next steps. We now feel hopeful. I highly recommend Tennessee Fertility Institute.

If you want a caring, compassionate fertility clinic, this is the place. We initially visited another local clinic and had a terrible experience with chaotic management, blame among team members, a cold doctor, and repeated scheduling conflicts. This experience was entirely different. From meeting Dr. Humphries through graduation, every staff member cared for us. Even billing, which can be difficult, was handled by helpful, kind staff. We are very grateful that this clinic supported us through the difficult, vulnerable IVF process. We are expecting a daughter this winter ❤️. They were also honest about the process, our circumstances, and realistic outcomes. They made no guarantees, so we were delighted and grateful when treatment worked. They respected our beliefs about how to proceed with IVF, which another clinic had not. All the nurses were wonderful, especially Merrill, who is an angel. Thank you, Merrill, for taking time to care for me and going above and beyond ❤️. We hope to have the same team for our future babies. My husband and I are excited and grateful for our growing daughter and ready to meet her, but we also cannot wait to return to TFI to try for more children. Thank you, TFI, for helping our family grow.

Terrible! I am extremely disappointed. My entire experience at Tennessee Fertility Institute was awful. The indifference and treatment from staff left me frustrated and confused, caused ongoing medical issues, and increased my anxiety and stress—the opposite of what I expected during such a personal and emotional journey. I expected compassion, empathy, professionalism, support, and kindness but received poor communication, rudeness, little compassion, and poor bedside manner. I attempted three intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycles there, the last in May 2025. Across all three, I saw a doctor only once, because I specifically asked to speak with him. I felt unheard and as though I should not ask questions. Different people gave conflicting information, and staff became confrontational when I pointed this out. I repeated questions at several visits without answers. Some staff answered ‘I don't know’ and never followed up. My protocol was generic and not individualized. Although I repeatedly explained that I was single, staff asked at every visit whether and when I had timed intercourse with a partner that month. I tracked my own fertile window because they did not seem to. During my second and third cycles, they did not perform the procedure around peak ovulation because they were closed Sundays, causing me to miss that month's chance to conceive. Women cannot control ovulation timing. If someone pays significant fees, why can the facility not provide the purchased service? I also had allergic reactions to medications during all three cycles and reported them, but staff told me to continue the medication. I still have problems and side effects. No one explained my laboratory results; they were simply uploaded to the portal for me to interpret. Billing was also terrible. They did not process my insurance at the start of the year as promised. I later learned by calling that insurance covered part of IUI. I self-paid all three cycles and am still trying to obtain reimbursement or proper claim submission. I am happy for those who succeeded here, but I am writing so others may avoid a similar experience. Best wishes to everyone on this journey!

I went to TFI for an initial fertility evaluation. Within five minutes of the appointment, a nurse practitioner diagnosed me with infertility and said I would need medical help to become pregnant. I was told a doctor would follow up by that Friday. I was understandably eager for more information, but heard nothing for nearly three weeks. I called TFI several times and sent messages through the Prelude app. I was repeatedly told someone would call, but no one did. Finally, another nurse practitioner called and said the original diagnosis was actually incorrect based on my bloodwork and that the first nurse practitioner was no longer with the clinic. I lived with that diagnosis for three weeks, causing a great deal of unnecessary anxiety. I cannot believe this could happen to other patients. Then there is the financial team. They checked my insurance before treatment and confirmed coverage. They told me all diagnostic costs would be covered, but I later received a $950 bill that I am still trying to resolve. If I need fertility care again, I will not return to TFI.

Everything was organized very smoothly. Everyone I spoke with was kind and helpful. Dr. Montville was very knowledgeable and answered my questions before I even asked them! His facts and recommendations for next steps felt sincere. My husband and I feel confident in our decision to choose Tennessee Fertility Institute and look forward to the next part of our journey.

From the moment I arrived at the egg retrieval center, I felt genuine care. I was in severe pain and could barely walk, but the entire team went above and beyond to care for me and ensure I felt safe and supported. Their compassion and attentiveness made an enormous difference during a physically and emotionally exhausting time. IV placement is usually difficult for me, but the nurse succeeded on the first attempt—quickly, gently, and confidently. I was initially worried that my regular doctor, Dr. Montville, would not perform the retrieval, but Dr. Miller was wonderful. She introduced herself, explained everything clearly, and put me at ease. To my surprise, Dr. Montville even stopped by to check on me, which meant so much. This team is professional, highly skilled, and genuinely caring. I feel fortunate to have received such excellent care during a sensitive and vulnerable time. I highly recommend TFI!

I have been receiving treatment at TFI since January! The entire experience has been wonderful. I just completed my first intrauterine insemination on Friday! I love Dr. Ruman and all the staff!

I am extremely grateful to TFI and Dr. Montville for helping me through this journey. From the beginning, Dr. Montville, Kelly, and the entire team provided compassionate, personalized care that made me feel supported at every step. Their expertise, attention to detail, and willingness to listen gave me confidence and peace during such a difficult fertility journey. The joy I felt when I saw a positive pregnancy test is impossible to describe. Graduating from the clinic was bittersweet because this team had been with me for more than a year. It felt like one step forward and two steps back, but we made it! I am so grateful to Dr. Montville for helping me reach this point. This pregnancy is truly a blessing, and I will never forget the team's role in creating this life. I also cannot forget all the wonderful operating room staff, front-desk team, phlebotomists, anesthesiologists, embryologists—every one of you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
