A very poor experience with multiple miscarriages.

Words can never fully describe how it feels to graduate from this clinic. I feel overwhelming gratitude, excitement, and disbelief that we reached this point, largely thanks to Dr. Ransom and Tasha. From the beginning, they made me feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for. Dr. Ransom never dismissed my concerns. He listened carefully, explained patiently, and always respected my thoughts and wishes. That meant more than I can express. On a journey filled with uncertainty and loss of control, having a doctor who stands beside you and truly understands is invaluable. Tasha was equally amazing. Whenever I needed her, she was there: gentle, patient, and comforting when I felt overwhelmed. Whether answering questions, encouraging me, or simply being present, she transformed my experience. This team provided more than medical care. They gave me hope, compassion, and unwavering support. Because of them, I left the clinic pregnant, a memory I will treasure for life. I will never forget everything they did for me. Forever grateful. 💙🩷

An absolutely terrible experience. If I could give zero stars, I would. I have never been treated with such disrespect by a medical professional. When I was younger, another endocrinologist diagnosed and treated me for a rare condition. I was told that if I had fertility problems, I should consider restarting treatment. Last month, I experienced a traumatic miscarriage that required an emergency D&C and a 3-day hospitalization for infection. My OB-GYN referred me to Dr. Ransom to treat my condition and prevent future miscarriage. Dr. Ransom told me the diagnosis was ‘unconvincing,’ said I needed extensive genetic testing, claimed steroid treatment was ineffective, suggested the miscarriage was probably unrelated, and gave me information that contradicted what other medical professionals had told me. There were many such examples, but it did not end there. While I sat silently trying to hold back tears, Dr. Ransom shook his head and made faces. He then said he could ‘tell from the disbelief on my face that he knew I did not believe him.’ Needless to say, I will never return. It was a complete waste of my time and energy. Having a rare disease does not mean it does not exist; presenting in an uncommon way does not mean it does not exist. I did not receive the ‘typical’ diagnosis or treatment for this condition, so it will not present in a ‘typical’ way. If you do not know what you are talking about, simply say so and stop wasting my time.

Save your time and money and choose a better fertility clinic.

Everyone in my life has known that I have had gynecologic problems since age 12 or 13: periods lasting a month and severely painful cramps. From my first doctor until April of this year, I was always told, “It's just hormones.” I had one chemical pregnancy and knew something was wrong, but advocating for myself was extremely difficult. Wherever I went and whichever doctor I saw, I was treated as though I were irrational, told my hormones were imbalanced, and prescribed birth control or another hormone pill. They would order bloodwork and stop there. I cannot express how badly the healthcare system fails women every day as we enter this stage of life. When I gave up, I felt there was no one left to turn to. I cannot express the gratitude and joy I feel about finding Dr. Ransom. From the moment I entered his office, he promised to help identify the real problem rather than dismissing it after one test and two visits. Thanks to him, tomorrow I will finally have surgery to remove the problem I have lived with for years. I may finally have normal monthly cycles and later begin trying for children because I found a doctor who cares. With my previous doctor, I do not know where I would be. My mental health declined at every visit while he wanted me to take medication monthly for 10 months until everything “worked as expected,” even though it had already failed after three months. The emotional strain reached its limit, but after tomorrow I can finally end this long journey and thank the best doctor I have met, Dr. Mark Ransom.

Infertility is not an enjoyable journey, but Dr. Ransom and his nurse Tasha were always pleasant. Tasha always helped whenever possible and answered every question. I know she probably deals with many anxious people, but she was always kind. Thank you both for making this difficult journey more positive!

I do not usually leave negative reviews, but I want to spare another couple the emotional trauma my husband and I experienced. The only reason this facility gets two stars is my nurse, Tasha, who was always kind, compassionate, and helpful. Another helpful nurse at the front desk assisted with transferring our records. In general, the front desk staff were indifferent and acted as though you were bothering them. The doctor provided almost no detail during our timed-intercourse and IUI cycles. At our IUI, as he removed his gloves, he said it probably would not work and we should consider IVF. We had just spent thousands of dollars, and I was still on the table when he said this. My husband and I were angry and hurt. The records also contained almost no useful notes. We transferred to Carolina Fertility Institute and had a wonderful experience. Please do not waste your time, money, or emotional well-being at this clinic.

My wife and I had an absolutely terrible experience at this clinic. With one exception, the staff and doctor were cold and unhelpful. At our first visit, I should have trusted my instincts and left with my wife when the “doctor” refused to shake my hand because of COVID—four years after the pandemic began. I commented that I thought we were past COVID, and from then on he was cold toward both of us. His few comments suggested contempt for people with different political views. After several timed-intercourse attempts, we paid for IUI. Before the procedure was even finished, he essentially said it probably would not work and we should consider IVF next. My wife was still on the exam table with her feet in the stirrups and nearly cried. We both decided then that we would never return. When we recovered from that awful experience and transferred to Carolina Fertility Institute, the ETSU office staff nearly refused to provide our records. On the morning of our appointment, we had to collect them in person. His notes were full of COVID comments and nonsense about matters he had never discussed with us. Never go there! For excellent treatment and a wonderful doctor, go to Carolina Fertility Institute. They are amazing.

Dr. Ransom was very cold and distant. I saw him about six times in a month, and even at the sixth visit he still had to look up my name in the chart after entering the room. They rush appointments because their schedule is overcrowded. In my early 30s and facing fertility problems, he insensitively told me my bloodwork was close to that of a postmenopausal woman. He recommended IUI, which we tried twice without success. I left with neither success nor hope and went to PREG, where I was told that, based on their medical assessment, IUI would have been ruled out. I felt this office and doctor wanted my money rather than evaluating my individual circumstances and tailoring treatment to me. The other practice is at least 1.5 hours away, but it is worth the drive!
