NY Midtown OB/GYN was founded on the belief that every woman deserves the highest-quality women's health care throughout life. The practice has offices in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, and Mamaroneck in Westchester County, New York, and is led by Yuzuru Anzai, MD, FACOG; Maria Teresa Benedetto, MD, FACOG; Teresa Cheon, MD, FACOG; and Mio Sawai, MD, FACOG.

 

Every member of the NY Midtown OB/GYN team is committed to providing customized care in a warm, welcoming environment. Some of the area's finest women's health practitioners and support staff have chosen the practice as their professional home.

 

Preventive care is a key focus. The team helps women take control of their health through comprehensive well-woman examinations, birth control counseling, sexual health support, and advanced diagnostics.

    I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Maria Benedetto and her entire team. She is experienced, attentive, and genuinely focused on her patients' best interests. Her years of expertise and confidence were clear from the moment we met. I changed doctors during my third pregnancy because I wanted more personalized, compassionate care. My previous doctor often made me feel like just another patient, which was the last thing I wanted at such an important time. From the start, Dr. Benedetto exceeded my expectations.     I just learned that they charged me hundreds of dollars for genetic testing without any prior communication, and worse, they did not even test for the condition I was concerned about. This is appalling.

    I have been Dr. Anzai's patient for 25 years, and his extensive medical knowledge and calm manner always reassure me. The clinic staff are courteous and professional, appointments are easy to schedule, and the clinic is always accessible.

    I initially chose this clinic because it was close to home and highly rated, but I deeply regret receiving obstetric care here. My first prenatal appointment was scheduled with a doctor leaving the clinic one week later, and the front-desk team failed to follow up appropriately. Clinic manager Brandie Hurrell was arrogant and rude, mishandled claims, and was unreachable despite repeated attempts by me and my insurer because my submitted visits were missing from their system. Having Anthem PPO coverage in two states complicated matters, but instead of following the insurer's instructions and working with me, she mocked my understanding of deductibles. My insurer confirmed that prenatal care would be fully covered if she submitted the claim because no visit record existed in my account. Anthem tried to contact her 4 times while I was also on the line, but she never answered. I lost confidence in their ability to manage my care. I do not recommend them for time-sensitive obstetric care and hope this helps other pregnant patients, since transferring late in pregnancy is difficult. Patient education was poor, test timing was unclear, and ultrasounds were outsourced to another clinic that handled insurance much better and successfully matched my coverage. I also recommend reading the one- and two-star reviews for a clearer picture of how this clinic operates.

    I have had wonderful experiences with both Dr. Benedetto and Dr. Anzai! Dr. Benedetto was my OB-GYN during my second pregnancy, and Dr. Anzai is now guiding me through my third. After moving away from Manhattan, their Westchester office was a major advantage for me. Both provide exceptional care, are warm and thoughtful, offer flexible appointment times, and listen very well. I have never had any complaints. I highly recommend them!

    Dr. Benedetto is an outstanding gynecologist. She is meticulous, stays current with the latest research, is highly knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about her patients. She guides patients with professionalism and compassion and offers multiple treatment options and alternatives when needed.     This practice is fantastic, from the front desk staff to the nurses and doctors. Throughout my pregnancy, I saw Dr. Benedetto for all my appointments. She made me feel comfortable, and I always trusted that I was in the best hands with her. I genuinely looked forward to my visits with her and the entire team. For the actual birth, Dr. Anzai was the doctor on call. I had met him briefly once before, so I didn’t have the same rapport with him as I did with Dr. Benedetto. However, he was incredibly calm and reassuring throughout my labor. I experienced minor complications during delivery, and he was amazing at keeping me calm and ensuring a smooth and safe delivery of my baby. I’m so grateful for the care I received and highly recommend this practice!

    Dr. Benedetto is a blessing. I have been a patient since 2000. Of my 5 children, she delivered 4—she returned to Italy for the 5th—and comforted me through two miscarriages. She is absolutely worth the trip from Long Island to New York. She is knowledgeable and cares for the whole person. My husband loves her too.

    I had the best experience at Downtown Women. I came to the practice after a very stressful experience at another clinic early in my pregnancy. Dr. Benedetto truly transformed my entire pregnancy experience. From our first conversation, I knew she would listen, offer guidance, and do everything possible to ensure my baby and I received the best care at every step. Her expertise is matched by her passion for care, and I truly could not have found a better doctor. The practice overall is also very professional, responsive, and easy to work with.
