Illume is a warm, welcoming, and encouraging place where I felt supported throughout my fertility journey. Dr. Richlin and nurse Maureen provided a very thorough consultation, answered all our questions, and always remained positive. I looked forward to every appointment because I knew I was one step closer to my dream of pregnancy. I am delighted to share that after my first transfer, I am now 13 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby girl! Thank you to every member of the Illume team. We will be back :)

I do not recommend donating here because they misrepresent the compensation and are difficult to communicate with. Other agencies are much more professional.

I went to the Norwalk clinic to submit simple test results and was told it would take about 5–7 days. It took 15 days because neither my doctor nor I could reach the clinic staff. When we finally did, they said, “Sorry, we forgot to fax it.” Two more days passed and it still had not been faxed. This is the most unprofessional team I have encountered.

Access to support in Portuguese was essential for me and helped me feel more comfortable and understood throughout the process.

Illume Trumbull provided excellent service from the start, so I expected the same care when I went to Illume Norwalk for egg retrieval. Unfortunately, that was not the case. After the procedure, I developed mild to severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). A Norwalk doctor called but seemed to think I was overreacting. When I needed IV fluids for severe dehydration, he said my veins were difficult and told me to drink Gatorade. I had to plead before they finally gave me fluids. A wonderful nurse administered the IV, but I felt I would have been better off going to the ER than trusting Norwalk. The two stars are entirely for that excellent nurse.

The doctors, nurses, and all staff at the Trumbull and Norwalk offices are wonderful. They are kind, caring, and responsive. I called outside regular business hours several times and always received a response within minutes. Everyone was helpful and supportive. I recommend Illume every day!

My IVF journey is just beginning, but after four recurrent pregnancy losses (RPL), finding Illume has been a blessing. From the front desk and scheduling team to my dedicated patient navigator, everyone I have encountered has been kind, patient, and helpful.
My nurse Kathy has been my anchor. She always returns calls promptly, patiently answers every question, and makes me feel genuinely cared for. And Dr. Hurwitz…words cannot express my gratitude. He is direct, knowledgeable, and honest, yet warm, considerate, and reassuring. He explains everything clearly and always makes me feel safe and supported.
Time will tell where this journey leads, but knowing I have such an excellent team beside me brings tremendous peace of mind. Thank you, Illume.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Kucherov and especially nurse Jocelyn Crespo. From the moment I met them, I felt valued, heard, and cared for—not only as a patient, but as a person navigating an unimaginably emotional and vulnerable journey.
Jocelyn is everything one could hope for in a fertility nurse and more. She is exceptional, attentive, kind, and compassionate in every interaction. She is diligent and organized, and every question is answered. She follows up promptly, ensuring you remain informed and supported at each stage. Often, she answers questions before you even contact her. Her empathy and dedication are invaluable during such a private and uncertain experience. Jocelyn truly treats you like her only patient, and that level of attention is rare.
Dr. Kucherov is equally admirable. He is brilliant, approachable, and genuinely committed to his patients. He explains everything patiently and thoroughly, never makes you feel rushed, and combines deep medical expertise with sincere care. His calm, confident, warm approach immediately puts you at ease, and you can tell he truly cares about your outcome. He is not only a doctor, but a partner throughout the journey.
As a physician who owns a large medical practice, I understand how difficult it is to balance modern medicine’s clinical demands with compassionate care. They just want your money, they don’t care about helping you figure out what’s wrong. It’s IVF or they don’t care and they’ll refer you out before your partner is even examined. They have someone who’s supposed to help you “financially plan” but they just explain your health insurance plan and then never get back to you. They didn’t even give an estimate for a procedure that had an original cost of over $1,300 but was still $858 after insurance.

So far, Illume has been a tremendous help to my partner and me. They acted quickly to address our unexplained infertility and help us pursue our goal. They are responsive, assembled a complete care team for us, and are very thorough in ensuring everything proceeds smoothly. We are very grateful. Although we only started our first cycle this week, the process began two months ago, and we feel prepared.
My only advice is to be very specific when asking questions. I initially knew little about the process, and because they explain it one step at a time, it can be confusing if you do not understand the full sequence or specific timeline. They always answer all our questions, and I am sure they work with many different kinds of patients, but someone like me needs to be proactive to ease anxiety and feel reassured.
I gave four stars because the timeline confused me. I am a teacher and work far away, so my ability to visit Harrison during the school year is very limited, and I wanted to complete as much as possible over summer break. Since I begin working in Sullivan County in late August, I worried about completing everything on time and knew that fitting multiple appointments into a short period could be difficult. Everyone responded, but some information seemed to be missing. For example, when I scheduled medication delivery, there were videos but no instructions for my own regimen. The only information I received was that I would take birth control pills for at least 7 days before starting injections. It turned out there was a 3-day gap between the pills and injections, at least in my case, though no one explained that. I also had to contact them for my protocol after arranging delivery. This extra step felt unnecessary when I was already anxious about receiving a refrigerated package and watching countless instructional videos. I wish they provided a visual timeline showing the days of each cycle, even if adjustments might be needed, so I would not repeatedly panic about falling behind.
Ultimately, everything worked out and the timing was right, so I think I simply did not understand the process. Thank you for all your help! I hope this cycle works :)

I initially heard great things about this clinic, but the front desk may need additional training. I called twice and was told I would receive available times to reschedule my initial consultation because the doctor had canceled my first appointment. More than a week has passed, and I still have not received a response. As a new patient, it is frustrating to be told twice that someone will follow up and then hear nothing.

I began IVF less than a year ago. My interactions with Illume have been extremely positive, especially with Dr. Kucherov and Jamie Dobos. They have been central to my wonderful experience and consistently go above and beyond. Having them on my team made an enormous difference. Through every high and low, they always listened patiently. Dr. K is highly knowledgeable while keeping things relaxed. He can deliver bad news in a very gentle, understanding way. He is sincere and helps you through difficult moments. Jamie is amazing! Every day, she makes more effort than expected and does everything possible to make you feel heard and understood. If both are on your team, you will always be grateful.

I went to Illume after trying for 5 months at age 34. Although we ultimately conceived naturally during our first month there, I still believe they deserve credit. I previously worked at a high-end longevity clinic in New York, so my metabolic health was excellent before arriving, but I was concerned that it was taking too long. Through my own interventions, I had already increased my AMH from 1.7 to 2.36. I was healthy, had done everything possible, had regular cycles, and tracked all my information. Illume performed a saline ultrasound, paused and reset my cycle with birth control, and completed routine SA, genetic testing, and other evaluations. I believe one or two of these interventions made the difference. I loved the staff and was genuinely sad when I had to transition to my regular obstetrician. I highly recommend Dr. Williams. He provides guidance during visits, speaks very calmly, and is kind to his colleagues. My husband really liked him. We wish he could deliver our baby.

I am deeply grateful to Illume Fertility for helping preserve my fertility during one of the hardest periods of my life. In 2022, I was diagnosed with cancer, and my OB/GYN referred me to Illume. They quickly admitted me and began the egg retrieval process. I never felt like a number; I felt cared for, heard, and supported throughout.
Dr. Richlin was a calm and compassionate guide, and my care team, Caroline and Chelsea, were angels—kind, knowledgeable, and always prompt in addressing questions and concerns. The whole team made a frightening experience manageable and gave my husband and me real hope for the future. We are now parents to a wonderful little boy, but Illume will always hold a special place in our hearts.

A truly compassionate, patient, supportive, and inclusive fertility clinic—the kind we never imagined before coming to Illume, our third clinic. They simplify the burdensome parts of the process, including insurance and donor paperwork, as much as possible. Everyone we encountered, from doctors and nurses to the integrative wellness team, phlebotomists, and administrators, was wonderful. Even when we felt hopeless, they never gave up. It is worth the long trip, especially for LGBTQ people!

This was absolutely our worst experience with a clinic. I am posting this only after we had our daughter. We went through our first IVF cycle with them, and all they seemed to want was blood work and tests. Nearly every visit felt like they were simply exhausting our insurance benefits. It was insulting that we asked to see their only Spanish-speaking specialist, but they provided only a nurse practitioner who did not speak Spanish. We did become pregnant, but we lost our first baby because they insisted that my wife continue medication that should have been stopped after pregnancy. When we raised this, they ignored us. I know outcomes vary, but I strongly recommend going elsewhere, such as Dr. Levi in Shelton. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.

I would never use this clinic. They seem caring at first, but they actually care only about your money! I paid $200 on December 17, 2024, for an egg-freezing consultation. I attended the consultation on January 8, 2025. The doctor was very informative and patiently answered my questions, so there was no issue there. But I still have not received a price quote for freezing my eggs!
After the consultation, I was taken to another room to speak further with a team lead. I am not sure who she was, but I thought I would receive pricing then. They said they do not provide pricing at the consultation, but the financial representative, Suzanna, would contact me to discuss it.
I found this strange because I also work in medicine, and my office would never operate this way. I assumed this was simply their business process and that someone would reach out. She never contacted me, so I emailed her. She returned my call that day and said she would email me the financial terms. She never did. I then sent two follow-up emails, and by the third email I was becoming upset. Instead of receiving a response that day, I received another bill charging me $200 again for the consultation I had already paid for on December 17, 2025.
At this point, two weeks later, I still have no financial information and have been charged twice for the consultation.
I was strongly considering this clinic for my fertility needs, but after seeing how it operates, I would never trust it during such a sensitive time in my life! At the consultation, they were quick to ask me to schedule every appointment immediately, but
they were unwilling to provide the pricing I was promised! It feels as though they take advantage of women's emotional state. This is not a clinic I would recommend to anyone in my life. I have since had two other consultations and will choose another clinic where I had a better experience and did not feel like merely a dollar sign.

Because the only movies we trust with fewer than 5 stars are Hallmark movies, I am giving Illume 5 stars—although my actual rating is four stars.
Dr. Williams earns a full 5 for his consistent persistence, attentiveness, and calm demeanor. I was surprised that after our success, I never heard from him again and instead received separate messages from others.
I would give the rest of the team and the overall process a 3. There were inconsistencies between the materials provided and the information shared, repeated lack of response from my assigned billing representative, and other minor issues that, if addressed, could elevate their service from average to excellent.
