I received care at St. Luke’s Hospital for more than four years, including during my pregnancy. My doctor was Dr. Cagges, who was excellent, but she later left St. Luke’s. I tried Dr. Hernandez but did not like her manner. I called to ask whether I could switch doctors, but they refused and said I had to continue seeing Dr. Hernandez. Absolutely ridiculous and extremely unprofessional. It is unfortunate that the quality of this hospital has declined so much.

If you are trying to conceive, you may make an appointment with Dr. Brinkman and tell him about your MRI results, only for him to say that flushing your fallopian tubes does not seem worth trying. He recorded the entire visit and told you that another option was to remove the tubes and then proceed with IVF, although their clinic does not perform that surgery. His statement was harsh and made it sound as though he might merely try flushing the tubes. I spoke with the manager, Shirley, today, and they both denied that Dr. Brinkman mentioned removing the tubes during our conversation, even though he did recommend it and the conversation was recorded. Calling me a liar and claiming all the doctors met and agreed that flushing my tubes was not recommended is absurd. You speak about Catholicism and faith but are unwilling to help, saying he mentioned it but did not really recommend it because it was “not worth trying.” I broke down in his office, but it seems you are simply dismissed and treated like a liar because you are struggling to conceive and have pelvic congestion. You may have your own medical opinion, but the final decision rests with God. I hope you can show women the faith reflected in your institution and profession, because instead of showing compassion and trust toward women trying to conceive, you call them liars.

An excellent provider—very encouraging, informative, and full of helpful resources for every stage of life.

I was a patient here for more than five years. Now that I have finally recovered from the trauma and medical negligence I experienced, I can write about it to warn others. Do not see Dr. Hernandez for endometriosis. She seemed fine at first, and I was her patient for several years before finally deciding to treat my endometriosis. I had two surgeries and was in unbearable pain after both. After the first surgery, I could not eat for more than six weeks because the pain was a hundred times worse than my endometriosis pain before surgery. She used only ablation, which severely aggravated my endometriosis lesions, and I had to endure the consequences. For a full year, I went from doctor to doctor trying to find the cause because they thought my pain could not be from endometriosis. Eventually the pain became unbearable, and I went to the ER with my newborn and husband. I was literally shaking with fear that another doctor would tell me everything was normal and there was nothing they could do. Instead, the ER doctor was professional and compassionate and assured me the pain was from endometriosis. The morphine provided just enough relief for me to sleep intermittently. The second surgeon I had booked had a wait of more than three months. I was desperate and could not endure another three or four cycles of pain, so I returned to Dr. Hernandez. She performed a second surgery and said there were only one or two endometriosis lesions and I should not be in so much pain. After surgery, when I told her the pain was still there, she simply said, "I hope you feel better. Come back for your next follow-up." She always looked for other explanations and never admitted that she lacked the skill, training, or ability to handle such a complex case. She would say, "You are too stressed," "Let me give you an antidepressant," or "Try to relax." She made me doubt myself, and I hate that I let her. When I finally found a second doctor, he used information from Dr. Hernandez's previous surgeries and planned to relieve my pain by treating adhesions. He found that my entire lower abdominal cavity was covered with deep, complex endometriosis lesions that had been there for decades. And guess what? Their locations matched exactly where I had described the pain. She may be a nice person, but she should focus on delivering babies, recognize the limits of her competence, and refer patients promptly. I plan to file complaints with my insurance company and the medical board. The most important thing I learned is that gynecologists who deliver babies do not have the skill and experience to treat endometriosis effectively. Endometriosis is extremely complex and requires full dedication to diagnosis and excision, leaving no time for routine gynecologic care and deliveries. My second doctor was Dr. Hilgers at Methodist Hospital. He has since left Methodist, but if you have the opportunity to be his surgical patient, I recommend him 100%. Endometriosis is already a painful, isolating, and debilitating disease. We do not need healthcare professionals who dismiss us or make our condition worse.

Dr. Hernandez has been an excellent physician for me, and I will continue coming to this clinic as long as she remains my doctor. My issue is with the receptionists and nurses responsible for responding to messages sent through the app. One front desk employee in particular treated me poorly, and when I contacted a nurse through the app about a very serious concern, she told me they had no availability and could not arrange even a brief visit that day or the next. This was very upsetting because the doctors here are excellent, but the clinic needs to interview applicants more carefully before hiring them.

These people are amazing! Their dedication to their patients is incredible. Our entire family will always be grateful to the skilled and compassionate doctors at Caritas.

I have been a patient at Caritas since 2017. I initially saw Dr. Karges, and after she left, I switched to Dr. Weaver. The care at Caritas is excellent, and everyone is very kind and considerate. Ivette is the best medical assistant. Although I am a new patient of Dr. Weaver, she listens carefully to my concerns at every visit and answers them thoroughly.

Dr. Brooke Jemelka-Weaver is a very caring physician. Her staff are also friendly and helpful.
    Nov 5, 2025
Dr. Jemelka-Weaver is absolutely the best! She is knowledgeable and thoughtful and makes you feel completely at ease. The clinic staff are also wonderful—friendly and efficient, making every visit smooth from beginning to end. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone seeking exceptional medical care!

I was very surprised by everyone's ratings, so I want to say that I am very satisfied. My doctor was Dr. Cargus, who was always wonderful. She delivered my two children in 2021 and 2023. I now see Dr. Jamelka-Weaver, who is also wonderful. She takes time to listen and reassure me, and I especially appreciate that she is also Catholic.

First, even after driving several hours for an appointment, the staff made it difficult to be seen. You arrive on time and complete the forms 20 minutes early, only to be turned away because the doctor requires arrival 30 minutes or more in advance, even though they had not arrived early themselves. I hated having my time wasted and being turned away on my first visit. Dr. D. Brickman needs to make the forms more electronic and communicate with the front desk staff so patients are treated respectfully.

Without a doubt, this was the worst patient experience I have ever had. I am giving one star only because zero is not possible. The problems at Caritas Women's Care appear to stem directly from extremely poor management and an indifferent, uncompassionate disregard for patient care and time. Unfortunately, only a few obstetrics and gynecology clinics in the Houston area use Naprotecnology. I wish women had other options. Their management team takes advantage of this and treats customers rudely. They know they can behave this way, but they have no understanding of patient care. I pray that those working at this clinic and other medical clinics understand their mission and do their jobs properly.

I wish I could give Dr. Brinkman 10 stars. I love everything about this clinic. For years, I struggled to find answers for my symptoms, but no one listened until I met Dr. Brinkman. He performed laparoscopic surgery and was outstanding from beginning to end. He truly listened and understood my concerns. He and his team communicate extremely well, and detailed information from every visit is available through their portal. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Brinkman.

I feel that if you are not pregnant or do not want to become pregnant, they simply do not care about you. Another doctor previously diagnosed me with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and my two most recent visits here were because I experienced suicidal thoughts with every menstrual period. The doctor here told me I would not feel that way if I did not take progesterone. Today I came for a gynecological examination, and they changed my appointment type without my permission and were surprised that I had not had a period. I was simply following their advice. I was visibly uncomfortable and only wanted STI testing and a breast examination, but for the first time in my life, a doctor made me cry. I felt dismissed and unheard. Do not come here unless you are pregnant.
    Jul 2, 2025
Dr. Brinkman turned our family away because we used a midwife. This is an unethical group, to say the least. How dare you endanger a child's life and punish a family seeking additional care.
    Jul 2, 2025
My doctor is Mr. Brinkman, and I am pregnant with my second child. Mr. Brinkman and the nurses are outstanding. I recommend them to many women who are pregnant in 2025!!!

I am very grateful that I was referred to Dr. Hernandez and the Caritas team. My husband and I had been struggling to conceive and had previously seen two doctors, a general OB-GYN and a fertility specialist. Both prescribed fertility medications and, after laboratory tests, ultrasounds, and a hysterosalpingogram (HSG), concluded that we had “unexplained infertility.” Both suggested or recommended intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in vitro fertilization (IVF), but we did not want either option, and they could not help us further. When we consulted Dr. Hernandez, she let us tell her about our experience and background. When we finished, she replied, “Something is definitely wrong.” I had never been so happy to hear someone tell me something was wrong! She recommended diagnostic laparoscopy and said I might have endometriosis, but that surgery was the only way to confirm it. Fast-forward to yesterday, when I had the surgery. Before the procedure, Dr. Hernandez spoke with me briefly and said that after reviewing the laboratory and ultrasound results from my previous doctors, she had confirmed that I had polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). I was completely shocked that the other doctors had entirely missed a diagnosis that had been right in front of them, documented in their own records for months!!!!! The surgery confirmed that I had PCOS along with several other issues, which she addressed during the procedure. I do not know whether I will be able to become pregnant after this surgery, but I am grateful to have answers and feel some peace. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Hernandez at Caritas for infertility care, and I will continue recommending her to others. In short: my husband and I had “unexplained infertility,” and other doctors could do nothing for us beyond recommending IUI/IVF. Dr. Hernandez diagnosed me with PCOS based on my previous doctors' laboratory and ultrasound results and performed laparoscopic surgery to address all my reproductive issues. Update: It is now summer 2025, and I have a 20-month-old daughter. I became pregnant within a few months after surgery. Thank you so much, Dr. Hernandez and team!

I received excellent care at Caritas! Before coming here, I had never encountered a group of doctors who truly listened to my concerns and were willing to find the root cause.
    Jul 11, 2025
My first appointment was with Dr. Hernandez. Her team was able to schedule me quickly. They were courteous, kind, and respectful. Dr. Hernandez is very knowledgeable and does not sugarcoat anything. She offers treatment options based on your actual situation. I highly recommend this clinic. Be prepared to wait for a while, but it is worth it.

I would like to share feedback about my second childbirth experience. From the beginning, the prenatal meetings and checkups were better organized and more professional than what I experienced at another hospital five years ago. As I approached delivery, I was naturally anxious and placed my life, and my baby girl's, in the obstetrician's hands. My trust was repaid a million times over. The entire delivery team's attention, support, and real-time response reached a level I never expected. They must be very well trained. They know how to guide you without explicitly telling you what to do. For example, the confident way they handled the newborn helped me move beyond the “porcelain doll” mindset. That is just one example. Special thanks, of course, to Dr. Jaime Hernandez, who guided me through the entire delivery with composure and grace, breaking it into simple steps, and voilà—a bouncing 9-pound baby girl. My heartfelt thanks to St. Luke's.

Dr. Hernandez is the best! I highly recommend her because she is extremely knowledgeable; whenever I have a question, she answers it before I even ask. She delivered my 8-pound daughter, who became stuck, and my identical twin boys, with baby B breech before turning when baby A came out, and she will deliver my next daughter. She is also very reassuring when complications arise. I had bleeding, preeclampsia, and other problems, but she was always there for me. All the nurses and staff are wonderful and kind!

First, I want to say that Dr. Hernandez was an amazing doctor to me for nearly 5 years. That said, the entire practice has gone downhill. They have been unable to retain staff for the past year and a half. It now seems like a group of unfriendly, incompetent people. Dr. Hernandez supported me through infertility and performed surgery on me at one point. I trusted her deeply, and seeing her always felt as though she was not only my doctor but also my friend. She seemed like a genuinely good person. Her ultrasound technician is wonderful too. Fast-forward to Christmas 2024. I had remarried and found myself pregnant 11 years after giving birth to my only other son. As you can imagine, I was excited but also frightened because I was temporarily in California, far from my “beloved doctor,” who was honestly one of the people I most wanted to tell. During my journey with her, she had prescribed progesterone supplements. When I learned I was pregnant, my first concern was whether I should take them because low progesterone can lead to miscarriage. That is extremely important to someone who struggled to conceive. SMH. I obviously did not yet have an OB here. I called her office and spoke with the completely incompetent Joanne, who said that because I was out of town, she could not even ask Dr. Hernandez whether I should take medication Dr. Hernandez had prescribed. This was clearly very important. I am still a Texas resident, by the way. Yes, I yelled that treating me this way was unethical and disgusting. I sent Dr. Hernandez a message, but Joanne, the nurse who replaced the excellent Kaitlyn, handled it. I do not even believe she forwarded my message to Dr. Hernandez. If she did and that was truly my doctor's response, shame on you. You cannot care for patients only halfway. I plan to file a complaint with the hospital. The front-desk staff and this nurse are complete garbage. I know someone, probably Joanne, will post a foolish response, so we will wait. Think twice before choosing this practice. If you do not want to feel thrown to the wolves, go elsewhere. Houston has good healthcare.

I am very pleased with Dr. Jemelka-Weaver and her staff. I never have to wait long. She is thoughtful and truly listens to your concerns. You can tell she cares about every patient she sees. I appreciate that she supports VBAC, which is the goal for this pregnancy.

Dr. Jamie Hernandez is an outstanding OB/GYN who truly cares about her patients' health. Dr. Hernandez takes time to listen, explain everything clearly, and answer every question. She is the most caring doctor, and I am very grateful for all the help, love, kindness, and compassion. Every staff member is friendly and professional. Thank you, Dr. Hernandez and team! I highly recommend Dr. Hernandez. She is truly committed to delivering excellent patient care and experiences.

Dr. Hernandez and the Caritas staff exceeded my expectations! Kind, courteous, and professional. Because I live out of town, I was examined promptly and had two tests completed immediately. 5 stars and a Valentine! 💝

After 2.5 years of trying to conceive, being told the cause was unexplained, and being advised that I needed IVF, I began coming here last February. My research led me to charting/the Creighton Model and NaPro doctors. From the start, I felt comfortable and cared for. In May 2023, I underwent laparoscopic surgery and was diagnosed with stage 2 endometriosis, blocked fallopian tubes, and PCOS. Thank God I sought a second opinion. Although I am not yet pregnant, it gives me peace of mind to have answers and to take steps toward healing after diagnosis. Dr. H takes time to explain everything, and the nurses/front-desk staff usually understand matters well. I cannot praise Dr. H and Caritas enough! *They are faith-based*, so they do not prescribe contraception or perform IUI/IVF.

After a very painful OB/GYN experience and an unfortunately complex medical history, I have seen Dr. Karges for nearly six years. Without question, Karges is the best. She is lovely, intelligent, and funny, and most importantly, she works with and supports you without pressuring you into anything you are not ready for. Highly recommended.
    Jul 19, 2024
First, I absolutely love Dr. Hernandez. She is a lovely, direct, and highly experienced doctor. However, a middle-aged woman with dirty-blond hair at the front desk made me extremely uncomfortable. She talked down to me rather than speaking with me, which I did not appreciate. I reported her to a supervisor, but my point did not seem valid to them. This woman is biased and needs diversity training. Pregnant patients should never feel uncomfortable visiting their doctor. She had the audacity to say that people come here from all over the world, clearly referring to me. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but she has offended me twice.
    Sep 6, 2024
I have had excellent experiences at this clinic since last year. The front-desk staff are very friendly and kind, and Dr. Hernandez is wonderful. She cares and addresses all my questions and concerns!
