    My experience at Illume has been excellent so far. The staff are supportive, warm, friendly, and helpful. Every visit has been punctual and well organized. Dr. Williams has been wonderful to work with throughout fertility treatment. Illume is committed to personalized care and resources that help patients feel supported at every step.     I honestly do not recommend this company, especially for women of color trying to become pregnant. They delay care, act very coldly, and fit a familiar pattern.

    I switched to Illume this May and regret not doing so sooner. I am very glad I changed; the experience has been excellent. Since I switched, they have done so much for me and provided more help than my previous clinic. Highly recommended!

    We were briefly patients at Illumine *18 months ago* and still to this day receive sporadic bills related to services from 2024. It is impossible to get in touch with the billing department. We managed it a month ago and were assured that there were no other bills. We have now received a bill from a *debt collector*. This company is an absolute disaster when it comes to billing, and resolving billing issues. Avoid at all costs. Can someone from Illume contact me as a matter of urgency.

    I don't get why their communication is so poor. I am so frustrated with them. I called and everytime I do, I get cut off or told someone will call back. Then 2 weeks later nothing. The only reason I am still continuing is because I do not wish to start all over again. When I consulted with the doctor I was reassured that the process from testing to implantation takes about 2 weeks. Here I am 4 months later running the staff down so I can get this over with. Sigh

    I can recommend the clinic; everyone is very kind. My nurse, Sarah Cannavaro, is the best. She explains every question you may have in detail. She does not speak 100% Spanish, but she tries to make you feel comfortable by explaining things in Spanish. I care for her very much. My doctor, Alexander Kucherov, is the best and always positive about any diagnosis a patient may have. Thanks 🙏🏻 to him and the entire team, I am pregnant 🤰🏻. As a Latina, I feel very comfortable with them. They are highly professional, and I would give them 10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟. Thank you to the Illume Fertility team..

    My fiancé and I were excited to begin our journey with this clinic, but unfortunately, I cannot say they felt the same. After the initial interview, the clinic essentially disappeared. I was told that a team of people would contact me, but they did not; only my nurse did. When I contacted my nurse to ask about the next step, I was completely ignored for two full weeks. I was extremely disappointed, especially because fertility problems are already an obstacle, and receiving no support from the doctor and “team” during this already difficult journey makes you feel even worse. I had to restart my search for a reproductive endocrinologist. I hope your experience is better than mine.

    Attentive care from the front desk to the clinical staff! Their encouragement through some very frightening situations made the process much easier! Although the testing I underwent was highly invasive, it was handled and explained thoughtfully, and I felt cared for by every staff member each time. We were fortunate to conceive naturally, but their care did not end with conception. Although my own OB-GYN could not and would not see me before 8 weeks, Illume started early monitoring and gave my husband and me the reassurance we had sought from Illume at our initial consultation. Illume is a group of people genuinely working to make the prospect of having children later in life less frightening, and we will always be grateful.

    Illume is awful; from beginning to end, you feel like nothing more than a check to them. On your first call, you are asked to choose “your doctor,” but be aware that you will almost never see that doctor. In about 20 in-person appointments, we saw the doctor twice, and both times she did not know who I was or what my plan was. Our “team” was extremely disorganized and did not communicate. We felt no support at all. I was constantly reaching out and following up on everything. Morning visits felt more like urgent care: often no seats, no privacy during such a sensitive time, appointments scheduled aloud in front of a full room, awkward encounters with people you know, and a cold, sad atmosphere every morning. Several times I also found urine samples on the bathroom sink with patient information and dates from days earlier at the Trumbull and Norwalk locations. Once medications begin, everyone knows the expense is substantial. We were repeatedly told we needed more and more. We did not ultimately need all of it and paid out of pocket for unnecessary medication because they would not listen. I suggested delaying the order in case it was not needed, but the nurse insisted. It is now unused in my refrigerator and must be discarded, but I cannot bring myself to throw away hundreds of dollars. Our egg-retrieval process was a nightmare. The operating-room staff behaved as though you were undergoing emergency surgery, rushing everything and making an already frightening, anxiety-filled experience worse. At one point, I believe we should have been asked whether to freeze some eggs or attempt fertilization. My husband had surgery too, and his sperm did not meet the standard. Instead, even after seeing this, they continued trying to fertilize all my eggs without calling us. No one asked whether we should preserve any or how we wanted to proceed. The doctor said he searched for sperm for hours, so there was time to call. A good doctor would focus on our goals. Unfortunately, the retrieval was unsuccessful, and different people gave conflicting stories for months—yes, sperm was frozen; no, it was not. It turned out we had frozen sperm for the past 10 months. Research your options. We chose this clinic because my OB-GYN recommended it. After the first few visits, I felt lost and frustrated by the communication. I wish we had left instead of continuing through the full process and retrieval. We have since found another clinic where the doctor explains everything and leaves us with no questions. Do not assume patients without medical backgrounds understand what you mean. We are still trying to obtain our records. Good luck reaching anyone or getting anything done. My husband is still awaiting a billing-department callback from August. It is tragic that a place like this can provide such poor care and such a bad experience. It makes you question whether to endure the process again when all you want is a child of your own. I hope this review encourages others to consider alternatives, or at least advocate for themselves and ask questions at every step. I wish I had, but I did not know what I needed to ask.

    I am dissatisfied with my experience. Dr. Williams was wonderful, and I regret that we could not continue his care because we had to move to another state. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the staff. My navigator was unavailable most of the time, and it took one or two weeks to reach her. After I asked about insurance coverage, it took nearly a month and several calls before anyone contacted me. I requested my records, but they said the first form I signed was “never received” and asked me to sign another. I am still waiting for the records to be sent. Because we have an appointment with our new office, I called repeatedly to follow up. The person on the phone hung up before allowing me to fully explain the situation. It was extremely frustrating. I hope future patients do not have to deal with unprofessional staff.

    I have worked with Illume for about a year and a half and had 2 unsuccessful IUIs. They have been very supportive, and I am still working with them and my team. No complaints. My team and the doctors are all wonderful, as are the other doctors, nurses, and front-desk staff I have encountered. Thank you, Illume! :)

    Choosing Illume was the best decision for us! We came to the clinic before we were fully ready to have children, but we knew we would need IVF regardless. We decided to create and freeze our embryos while I was still young, at 29, rather than wait several more years. We were assigned to Dr. Shaun Williams. We truly enjoyed working with him, and I was always happy when he performed my monitoring. He explained everything well, including our options and the process. I had the best nurse, Linda, who was extremely helpful and kind! I could email her many questions and receive warm answers the same day. I truly appreciated it! The same was true of my patient coordinator, Katherine. Linda was out of the office during our first cycle, but another excellent nurse, Jodi, covered for her, and I will always be grateful that she guided us through that first cycle. Moving quickly was important to us, and we appreciated that Illume could accommodate us and our busy schedule. We had our first consultation in early August and began stimulation in early September as soon as all results were available. Dr. Williams left for vacation before we started, but he prepared my protocol in advance, so everything was ready. I saw other doctors at monitoring appointments, and all were excellent and answered my questions. Because we hope to have a larger family, we decided to complete another embryo-freezing cycle. So far, everything has gone as smoothly as the first time. We adjusted my protocol slightly and hope for better results! We are very grateful to work with such an excellent team and expect to return for a transfer in two or three years. After reading for weeks, I felt stressed about the process, but Illume truly made it easy and comfortable. Thank you!
