I decided to freeze my eggs at a point in life when I was reconsidering my future. The wait is extremely long, starting at a minimum of four hours, despite the large number of staff. It is longer than at a major hospital and completely exhausting. The consultants also give medical instructions. We said that we wanted confirmation from a doctor, but the consultant confidently said it was fine. The consultants do not display healthcare licenses, so we do not even know whether they are medical professionals.

Sometimes it can even be smelled from the seating area on the first floor. Is there really no way to address secondhand and thirdhand smoke? Why should IVF patients have to remain in an environment that exposes them to risks of miscarriage, stillbirth, and fetal abnormalities?

I had surgery for a teratoma 5 years ago. Although it was not severe enough to require removal of an ovary, testing showed that my AMH level was well below average for my age. I just successfully graduated from 送子鸟 at 14 weeks, and I am truly moved! I had been reading online reviews of 送子鸟 and wanted to share my genuine experience to give mothers who need it another reference. Perhaps it can help those still working hard to find treatment. Before coming to 送子鸟, I was treated at a clinic known for immune therapy. I had three egg retrievals and two embryo transfers there, but all failed. At the time, PGS showed that only one of 16 embryos, graded 3CC, was suitable, but its transfer still did not succeed. I was already taking high doses of medication, yet the doctor wanted to use even more advanced drugs. I later decided to take my remaining embryos and try 送子鸟. For the first transfer, one low-level mosaic embryo had degenerated during thawing, while the other two high-level mosaic embryos did not continue developing. Dr. 谢 treated that cycle as an opportunity to understand how my body responded. Although it did not succeed, the results gave me great confidence that the next transfer would come very close to success. After another egg retrieval, we unexpectedly produced five 5BB embryos. Two were suitable, and the transfer of just one ultimately succeeded! We also did not need to use more advanced immune medications. I work as a bridal stylist, so I meet brides of many different ages. We often become friends and talk about fertility, which is how I learned about egg freezing. I had been considering freezing my eggs since age 35. I searched online for many fertility centers throughout Taipei, New Taipei, and even Taoyuan, and of course asked friends who had already frozen their eggs. The egg storage facility and clinic are in different locations and operate through a partnership, which made me very uneasy. 3. Starting the Green Egg Freezing Program>> June (month 6) was my final month at age 38. I chose the Green Egg Freezing Program (exclusive to 宋子鳥) and officially began treatment~ The entire process was simple, easy to understand, professional, and efficient. They also guaranteed a certain number of eggs, which gave me a strong sense of security. I believe being in a good mood also has a major effect on the body＾＾ Total visits during treatment~ First visit: I met with the doctor to discuss the appropriate treatment (NT$550 consultation fee), collected medications and injections, and paid NT$63000 upfront for medication and surgery. Everyone spoke gently and took such good care of me that I did not feel nervous or afraid at all. Then Dr. 賴 came over and told me to take a nap~ The next thing I knew, I woke up in the recovery room without any discomfort, where the nurses continued to care for me. After changing back into my clothes, I was taken to the dining area upstairs (where accompanying family members also waited). I ate the provided meal (pictured) while waiting to see the doctor, and the timing felt perfect. Right after surgery, the eggs had already been selected and I knew the retrieval results. They immediately arranged a consultation to decide on the next steps, so I did not need to schedule another day (very convenient since I live farther away). After my first retrieval, the doctor said only 4 eggs had been retrieved (one was still immature), below the guaranteed 8. I therefore had to repeat the treatment and undergo a second retrieval. (Age really does matter; if I had frozen my eggs earlier, their quality would have been better.) Most importantly, the Green Program offers an excellent guarantee. Early last year, I finally froze my eggs after wanting to do so for a long time. My only regret was not doing it sooner. I hope sharing my experience helps those who are still considering it. If cost is not a concern, I recommend doing it as early as possible, since younger eggs are generally healthier. My entire experience at Stork was comfortable. Egg freezing is quite private, but the treatment was arranged so that nothing felt awkward. Professionally, I especially recommend Stork's option of a second egg retrieval within the same cycle and Dr. Lai's expertise. My first retrieval produced fewer eggs than expected. After discussing it with the doctor and adjusting the medication, we successfully matured more eggs for a second retrieval and obtained approximately the number expected for one baby. The second retrieval saved me both money and time. Stork provided an excellent experience in every respect.

After reading discussions about egg freezing on various forums, I found that Stork had excellent reviews. After several complications, I finally began treatment at the end of 2024 and completed my first egg retrieval 2 weeks later, in early 2025. This time I chose to see Dr. Lai at Stork Fertility Center. Dr. Lai was very realistic and did not give patients false hope. Because my AMH was low, he told me in advance that retrieving 5 eggs in one cycle would be an excellent result. In the end, 7 eggs were successfully retrieved and all 7 were frozen! The cost was also lower than I had expected. At a follow-up ultrasound, Dr. Li performed the scan. My previous ultrasound experiences had been poor, so I always felt nervous, but Dr. Li was very kind and patient and put me at ease. I will choose Dr. Li's clinic for my next egg retrieval. The entire retrieval process went smoothly except for the trigger shot. Because the syringe differed from the ones we normally used, when my partner tried to replace the original cap after giving me the injection, the needle pierced through the cap and went directly into their hand. Everyone should be careful! I hope everyone working through this process has a safe and successful journey :)

I froze my eggs here, and the entire treatment took only 12 days. The service was very thoughtful, and every follow-up visit felt reassuring. The doctor was professional, and the nursing team was meticulous and caring, reminding me of every detail. The injections and medications caused no discomfort, and I was carefully looked after during the procedure, so I never felt nervous.

My husband and I had hormone blood tests and a semen analysis here in August. The decor is beautiful, but many things made us feel very uncomfortable. Overall, we strongly do not recommend this clinic and would never return. Anyone considering this clinic should read about our experience below. Every statement is true and not exaggerated. Too many things at this clinic raised questions, and we could not trust their professionalism at all. 1. The reception desk is directly inside the entrance. At check-in, the receptionist asks private questions, such as when your last menstrual period was. Other patients are within arm's reach, and there are no partitions, so there is no privacy. The privacy concerns are serious. We found it unbelievable that such a large clinic had not considered patient privacy and security. 2. After checking in, I was called for a blood draw, which was done right at the reception desk in an open area where many people walk by. To my shock, the woman drawing my blood was not wearing gloves. (My husband told me afterward because I cannot watch needles.) This was frightening. Gloves are always worn for vaccinations, so why would this clinic draw blood without them? It was extremely unprofessional. I completely lost trust in the clinic and seriously questioned how they control medical quality if even a simple blood draw is handled this way. 3. After the blood draw, a woman took us to a table and chairs near the entrance and asked private questions, such as whether we were married, whether we had tried to conceive, the date of the last ejaculation, and our family medical history. This was a completely open area, not a private room, and people nearby could hear us, just as we could hear the conversation at the next table. I cannot understand why such private questions were asked in an open area with no regard for privacy or patient feelings. Many people visit clinics like this because they have health concerns. Should the clinic not consider their privacy? Not everyone wants others to know their private information. Privacy is fundamental in any medical setting and a basic sign of respect for patients. 4. After the questions, we were taken upstairs to wait for the doctor. The waiting area was packed and felt like a market. We had an appointment, but it seemed no different from not having one because no one told us how long the wait would be. Staff said they did not know. After 30 minutes, we were called in to see Dr. Hsieh Chia-Lin. He spoke extremely quickly, as if trying to finish and move to the next group. He did not listen to my questions or address my concerns and only talked about what he wanted. He seemed impatient, rushed, and focused on seeing as many patients as possible. He spoke like a machine gun; before we could process what he had said and ask questions, we were ushered out. The blood test results were handwritten on their brochure rather than provided as a formal printed report. It felt very unprofessional and careless. The entire experience was terrible. The beautiful, upscale-looking building is only a facade; the staff, doctors, workflow, and operations are highly unprofessional. 5. My husband was later called to provide a semen sample. Staff gave no clear instructions about whether we could leave afterward, so we were left waiting there.

I had my AMH tested late last year at age 32 and thought I still had plenty of time. Only 8 months later, at 33, it had fallen sharply and was below average for my age, so I decided to proceed directly with egg freezing. The clinic is comfortable and the staff are pleasant. I had no unsatisfactory experiences. Self-administering stimulation injections was much easier than expected. If you live near the clinic, you can take the medication back to your original clinic for administration or collection of the remaining doses. The egg retrieval also went smoothly, and fortunately I had little discomfort afterward. Be aware that many patients are waiting, so allow extra time. If you live overseas, your time at home is valuable, so handle in advance anything that can be managed abroad, such as determining when your period will begin. If you are unsure how to schedule, ask the clinic proactively so you do not miss the opportunity.

Last year I froze my eggs at Stork's Neihu branch. I initially chose Stork because of transportation convenience. Throughout treatment, however, I found them extremely attentive and thorough. They called and messaged after every follow-up. One day after retrieval I had heavier bleeding, and they responded quickly even when I asked at midnight. Because retrieval seemed like a minor procedure, I did not closely review doctors' backgrounds and simply chose the prettiest one 🤣. At my first egg-freezing consultation, I thought Stork's environment was beautiful and the front-desk staff and consultants were very kind. 7/29 My first AMH test was 2.61. After consideration, I decided to schedule egg freezing one month later. 8/27 I checked in for the egg-freezing appointment with my mother and boyfriend. Dr. Lai patiently explained the process again and estimated how many eggs might be retrieved. The consultant carefully explained the injections and medications for the following 2 weeks. 8/31 Ultrasound showed 9 follicles in the right ovary and 3 in the left. The consultant said injections should continue until 9/4, with the trigger injection that evening. The trigger injection was quite painful 🥲. 9/6 I checked in at 8:45 a.m. Because I had bad memories of anesthesia, the nurses checked on me throughout. I fell asleep after seeing the doctor. When I woke, I was very sleepy but had no other discomfort. The nurse thoughtfully offered pain medication and let me continue resting. I then waited for the consultation and retrieval count. Stork's postoperative meal was healthy and delicious. A total of 12 eggs were retrieved, including 10 mature eggs. Stork continued checking on my recovery after discharge. The entire treatment experience at Stork was very comfortable. I highly recommend it to women who want children but are not ready to give birth now.

We began the initial consultation and treatment in 2023/08. Later, my wife was diagnosed with fibroids, underwent surgery and recovery, then had egg retrieval and testing. We completed the full set of required tests. Transfer was on 6/28. On 2024/09/05, Dr. Kim announced that we had graduated. After our first successful treatment and the safe birth of our oldest child, we decided two years later to prepare for a second baby. In early August 2023, we returned to Stork for embryo-transfer treatment. This time, however, we faced many hurdles. After transfer, high clotting markers and intermittent bleeding required repeated heparin and progesterone-in-oil injections to support the pregnancy. At one point, the physical discomfort from injections and the pressure of fearing I could not protect the baby made me break down in tears. With Dr. Lai's careful examinations and the consultants' warm support, I finally received my graduation certificate and left Stork at 14 weeks. Before I left, Dr. Lai warned that the placenta was low, so I needed to be especially careful throughout the rest of pregnancy. At 29 weeks, bleeding began again and I went to the emergency department. Every night I was afraid to sleep deeply in case bleeding started. Ultimately, high rupture of membranes and bleeding required hospital bed rest. My husband and I hoped to continue beyond 35 weeks, but a high inflammatory marker meant the doctor recommended an urgent cesarean section. Fortunately, our baby arrived safely and healthily at 33 weeks. Finally, thank you to all the medical staff who helped and cared for my baby and me from pregnancy through delivery.

I highly recommend this fertility center. Dr. Hsieh is very professional, and Dr. Lai is also excellent; I saw both. I strongly recommend having IVF here. They monitor you frequently, with follow-ups every 2-3 days after transfer, and take even small concerns seriously. Customer service is friendly, and the on-site service is excellent. Thank you for helping me graduate successfully. I only wish the wait at each appointment were shorter. 🥹 P.S. Dr. Hsieh takes time to warm up, but his professionalism is unquestionable—he was formerly head of gynecology at Chang Gung. He becomes more talkative over time. Prepare your questions so the visit does not feel rushed. Personally, I really like Dr. Hsieh. ☺️ I saw Dr. Lai only once, but you do not need to prepare many questions because he is exceptionally knowledgeable. Mothers with immune issues may especially want to consider him. Neither doctor has an especially warm or gentle style, but I value professionalism and success rates more than those extra feelings because everyone wants to graduate successfully as soon as possible. Because I expected to need my eggs in the future, I first attended a seminar hosted by Stork Fertility Center. After briefly reviewing information online, I found that egg-freezing costs did not vary much among fertility clinics, so I decided to freeze my eggs at Stork Fertility Center. At my first outpatient visit, I had blood drawn to test AMH. Although the value was still within a reasonable range, at a little over 3, I decided to begin treatment as soon as possible because of my age, 35 up. I scheduled the second visit for day two or three of my menstrual cycle. First, a transvaginal ultrasound is performed, and then the doctor decides how treatment will proceed. The first stage involves daily short-acting ovulation-stimulation injections. A third visit is then scheduled for a blood test to measure E2, which determines the second stage of treatment and the procedure date. The third visit was for the egg retrieval. For the two days before the procedure, I received trigger injections and fasted for eight hours. Early on the procedure day, I checked in at the clinic, changed clothes according to the nurse's instructions, and lay on the operating table for preparation. Anesthesia began after the doctor arrived, and when I woke up, I was already in the recovery room. Afterward, I met with the doctor to hear the retrieval results, received a postoperative meal, settled the bill, and collected my medication. From entering the clinic to leaving took about three hours. Cost: One egg-retrieval cycle basically costs 50,000, paid in two installments. Medication costs are additional, and the dosage varies according to each person's results. My treatment cost about 110,000 in total. Retrieval result: 25 eggs retrieved and 23 frozen. The stimulation injections were fairly easy to learn. Only the final trigger injection was slightly painful, and I tended to feel dull abdominal discomfort, but it was less severe than menstrual cramps. The procedure itself was also fine, and I had no significant pain afterward. Advantages: 1) The clinic staff are all very kind and friendly, and consultations and education are thorough. 2) The clinic environment is excellent, with a coffee machine and cookies. 3) The APP allows you to book appointments and track treatment progress and results. 4) The operating-room environment is also very good and less intimidating, and a postoperative meal is provided. 5) LGBTQ-friendly. Disadvantages: 1) Appointment waits are very long, and the queue number is only a reference; it cannot predict when you will be seen. To be safe, I recommend allowing at least three hours for each visit. 2) The clinic is in Dazhi, so transportation is less convenient, although this varies by person. Fortunately, I did not need many follow-up visits this time, so it was acceptable.

Stork Fertility Center caught my attention because it is LGBTQ-friendly, holds relevant information sessions, and has experience shipping eggs abroad. The egg-freezing treatment was also within my budget, so I decided to proceed there. The environment was comfortable throughout, and the doctors, nurses, and consultants were attentive. The treatment was extremely efficient: including the egg retrieval, I only needed three follow-up visits, which was convenient for someone traveling from far away. My AMH is very low (about age 31, AMH 0.86). Over one year (2023/6–2024/6), I underwent three egg retrieval cycles at Stork Fertility Center and was fortunate to accumulate 19 eggs. I am truly grateful to Dr. Lee Jih-Sheng for his attentive care. ▶︎ Egg-freezing consultation / overseas shipment At my first egg-freezing consultation and AMH test in 2023/6 (self-pay 800), I was considering shipping the eggs overseas and purchasing donor sperm abroad for IVF. Besides the egg-freezing fees, I asked many questions about shipping costs. Stork Fertility Center's prices were transparent, and the consultant was professional. She asked whether I had selected an overseas reproductive center and even whether I planned reciprocal IVF, in case additional tests were needed before retrieval. The consultation and AMH test are done together. AMH results are available within 1 hour after the blood draw and reviewed by the doctor. After the appointment, a consultant takes you to a small private room for further explanations of treatment and costs. An egg-freezing information video is shown there, and the consultant provides an educational booklet. All information is clear and easy to understand. ▶︎ Egg-freezing costs The cost of one retrieval has several parts: A. First-visit registration fee 550 + egg-freezing treatment payment 25000 B. Injection costs during treatment (people with more eggs and higher AMH use more injections, so it costs more), oral medication (very inexpensive), and the trigger injection required before retrieval, within about 2000 C. Registration fee on retrieval day 550 + final egg-freezing treatment payment 25000 D. One year of storage paid on retrieval day (8000 per year regardless of the number of eggs, so additional retrievals do not incur another storage fee) ▪️The 50,000 egg-freezing treatment fee includes registration for interim follow-ups, all ultrasound fees, blood tests, and the egg retrieval procedure. ▪️For someone with very low AMH like me, each retrieval costs roughly 70,000 to just over 100,000; a friend with a high AMH above 5 paid a little over 120,000 in total. ▪️Retrieval counts and costs 2023/6–7: 7 eggs, about 70,000 total (excluding more than 20,000 for injections at another hospital), plus 8000 storage 2024/1: 5 eggs, about 102,000 total 2024/6: 7 eggs, about 72,000 total ▶︎ First egg retrieval At my first appointment, my AMH was tested. I was 30, but my AMH was only 0.86, which was extremely low and devastating news. Dr. Lee Jih-Sheng explained many possible reasons and advised retrieving eggs as soon as possible because the egg reserve declines irreversibly over time. I decided to pay 500 for an ultrasound to check the egg count that cycle. Because I was afraid of transvaginal ultrasound, I had only an abdominal ultrasound, which showed about 2 eggs—very, very few—so I did not immediately begin treatment. The next day, I went to another hospital for an egg retrieval consultation and another AMH test. The doctor there said a transvaginal ultrasound was necessary because abdominal ultrasound was inaccurate. I had the transvaginal scan, which fortunately was not very painful, and it found 9 follicles! That was very different from the 2 reported the day before. The doctor said that with my AMH of 0.85 (almost unchanged when retested 😂), this follicle count was quite rare and strongly recommended retrieval during that menstrual cycle. Although the hospital estimated about 140,000 in total, I decided to proceed, paid for blood tests, and received a long-acting stimulation injection costing 20,000. However, after asking more detailed questions at my second hospital visit, I learned it had no overseas shipping package and that transferring the eggs to another hospital after retrieval would be inconvenient. I asked whether Stork Fertility Center would accept a patient who had already received injections elsewhere and decided to return there for retrieval. After Stork Fertility Center took over, I continued seeing Dr. Lee Jih-Sheng. Dr. Lee arranged the injections from a cost-conscious perspective, helping a low-AMH patient like me reduce the financial burden. I highly recommend him for this 👍❤️❤️❤️ At the end of this cycle, 7 eggs were successfully retrieved—a very good number. Thank you so much, Dr. Lee! ▶︎ Doctors I have seen After three retrievals and accompanying a friend to hers, I have seen nearly every doctor. Here are their consultation styles and my personal impressions. ▪️Lee Jih-Sheng (my attending doctor for all three retrievals; performed the 1st and 3rd procedures) Characteristics: attentive and patient, helps patients save money, gives conservative retrieval estimates that can somewhat reduce confidence in the result 😂 Dr. Lee is quite attentive and patiently answered my many questions. Knowing that my low AMH might require several retrievals, he generally used mild-to-moderate stimulation and prescribed less expensive injections 👍 (for example, avoiding the expensive long-acting Elonva and mainly using Gonal-F every 2 days). Dr. Lee also does not have the largest patient load. On Thursday evenings he is the only doctor seeing patients, so follow-up waits are much shorter, though Saturday mornings take longer. Occasionally, Dr. Lee personally performs transvaginal ultrasounds. Having the doctor do it rather than an ultrasonographer feels more professional and reassuring. ▪️Hsieh Chia-Lin (attending doctor for the first half of my second retrieval cycle) Characteristics: many patients, somewhat rushed consultations Perhaps because Dr. Hsieh has so many patients, waits are long and consultations do not feel very thorough. She initially managed my second retrieval. I had 9 larger follicles, and she prescribed a more intensive stimulation protocol, mainly Pergoveris injections almost every day. At the first monitoring appointment, when Dr. Hsieh was not present, only 4 follicles had grown larger. Feeling anxious and disappointed, I quickly switched back to Dr. Lee, though retrieval was only a few days away and it was basically too late for a change. Ultimately only 6 follicles grew larger, and 5 eggs were retrieved 💔 This cycle cost much more—just over 100,000 excluding storage—but produced only 5 eggs. I do not know whether Dr. Hsieh's protocol was unsuitable for me; perhaps intensive stimulation is not appropriate for low AMH. At my first follow-up, Dr. Hsieh was at the Hsinchu branch, so at the Taipei branch I could only have blood tests and ultrasound without a consultation. I had no one to ask about my many follicles not growing and could not discuss changing medication with Dr. Hsieh 🥲 The final result was also poor. Perhaps Dr. Hsieh and I simply were not a good match. ▪️Lai Hsing-Hua (attending doctor for my friend's 2023/12 retrieval; I attended one consultation) Characteristics: hurried, rushed consultations, ultrasound-free retrieval My friend's AMH was high, above 5. Based on that result, the doctor said she could undergo an ultrasound-free retrieval protocol with no ultrasound throughout. She therefore never had an ultrasound and did not know how many eggs there were during treatment, which made her somewhat nervous. Apart from explaining the ultrasound-free retrieval, the doctor only broadly stated which injections to take on which days. There was essentially no other explanation about retrieval, and he answered briefly only when my friend asked questions. It felt as though he was in a hurry to get us out of the consultation room 😅 He prescribed a long-acting stimulation injection and daily Pergoveris. Without ultrasound, we did not know the initial follicle count. Ultimately, 18 eggs were retrieved, which was quite good. People who prefer an attentive doctor may not suit Dr. Lai. Those with high AMH who want convenience and speed may be a better fit 😂 ▪️Jin Tzu-Hsuan (performed my second retrieval because Dr. Lee was unavailable) Characteristics: patient and attentive, but the retrieval was more painful 😖 The doctor was very kind, and the routine postoperative consultation was patient and attentive. However, my second retrieval was extremely painful, and urination remained somewhat painful for more than a week afterward. Overall, it was the most uncomfortable of my three procedures and had the slowest recovery. I do not know whether this was related to the surgeon. (My first procedure was also quite painful, but not as painful as the second. Before this procedure I said the previous one had hurt, so the pain medication dose was increased, but for some reason it was still extremely painful.) ▶︎ Advantages and disadvantages of Stork Fertility Center Advantages: transparent prices, relatively affordable retrievals, well-developed arrangements for overseas shipping, and a comfortable clinic environment (cookies and juice) Disadvantages: distant location (11-minute walk from the MRT station), many patients, and very long waits (at least about 2–3 hours from arrival to departure) ▶︎ Advice If your AMH is very low like mine, I suggest paying for an ultrasound at Stork Fertility Center during each menstrual period (550 registration + 450 ultrasound) to determine the follicle count, since the visible follicle count varies randomly each cycle. Then undergo retrieval in a month with more follicles. This can effectively increase the number of eggs retrieved each time, reducing both discomfort and cost.

I am 45 years old and currently 30 weeks pregnant. My first IVF cycle at Stork Fertility Center succeeded! Thank you to its professional team. I already have an older child, but after trying unsuccessfully for several years to have a second, I consulted several large reproductive centers in Hong Kong. After blood tests, they all said my results were poor and my AMH was extremely low. They said a conventional protocol would produce virtually no results or progress and only suggested giving up or focusing on my older child. My husband especially liked the self-service coffee and beverage bar and the snacks. Sitting in the outdoor garden with coffee helped him pass quite a lot of time. Lunch was also delicious and generous. Based on my previous tests and data, Dr. Jin identified the issue, created a personalized plan, and clearly explained her recommendations for subsequent treatment. The day finally came to transfer our hard-won embryo. I was initially nervous, but Dr. Jin and the team's warmth put me at ease. The nurses cared for me attentively throughout. Their actions and attention to detail showed great respect for patient privacy and consideration for the person undergoing the procedure. They explained each upcoming step in detail, greatly easing my anxiety. Dr. Jin explained everything throughout. The procedure was very quick, with little physical discomfort, and she finally told me it had gone smoothly! After I returned to Hong Kong, Sharmine continued following my case. When a blood test confirmed my pregnancy, I emailed her the good news, and Dr. Jin adjusted my medication dosage as needed. On one occasion I needed emergency medication, and Sharmine followed up anxiously and continuously. Fortunately, the fetus safely made it through the bleeding episode.
