BNH Hospital Thailand was founded in 1898 by King Rama V. To meet growing demand from foreign and local patients for private international hospital care, BNH Hospital was incorporated in 1991, and the new hospital officially began operating in 1996.

The new hospital occupies two acres on Convent Road between Silom Road and Sathorn Road. Surrounded by mature trees, it is close to Bangkok's commercial, financial, entertainment, and embassy districts.

It is easily accessible by car from across the city, by BTS Skytrain to Sala Daeng station, or by MRT to Silom station.

BNH Hospital's specialists and physicians provide high-quality care throughout consultation, diagnosis, treatment planning, treatment, follow-up, and postoperative care. The concept of a ‘family doctor’ remains highly valued at BNH.

King Rama VI later funded an expansion of its medical services, and the hospital quickly gained the confidence of foreign residents in Thailand. After more than 100 years of development across the reigns of five Thai kings, BNH became Thailand's first international general hospital. Its service philosophy has been passed down through generations, alongside expertise in female infertility, pediatrics, and gynecology.     This hospital is known for its cold facial expressions. The staff are aloof, reluctant to answer questions, and always frowning. Even when contacting the insurance department, they look dismissive from the moment you arrive. They need more customer service training and should welcome patients more warmly. This cold, uncaring attitude must stop.

    I had recurring swelling under my eyes and visited the allergy center at BNH. The doctor said it was not allergies but kidney and thyroid disease and ordered blood tests. I was very alarmed, but all the results were normal. When I returned, the allergy doctor examined my nose, which had not been examined at the first visit, said it was very swollen, and prescribed only a nasal spray. I was confused and felt they were focused on profit rather than ethics. After a month, my symptoms had not improved, and I had spent nearly 20,000. I then visited a local allergy clinic, where the doctor diagnosed sinusitis and prescribed oral medication, nasal rinses, and nasal spray. After about one month, I recovered. It was much less expensive than the hospital, and the doctor was knowledgeable and ethical. This hospital was extremely careless, and I do not recommend it.

    The nurses in Ward 5A are wonderful! My child has received treatment here since infancy. The nurses take exceptional care of her and make her feel at home. The atmosphere is also excellent.     My baby was first hospitalized in Ward 5A with a viral infection at 30 months old. They took excellent care of her and made her feel at home. She recovered very well, and I was so happy!     Very good experience. The hospital is very nice and clean. Nurses and doctors are amazing, really caring, super human and nice. We didn't have the feeling to be in an hospital, it looked like to be in a hotel. They were quick with examination of my daughter and immediately gave a successful therapy.     This time, my child had a high fever, cough, and runny nose. We took him to BNH Hospital, where he was diagnosed with human metapneumovirus (HMPV) and needed to be admitted. The doctor gave us detailed, helpful advice, asked for our input, developed the treatment plan with us, and transferred him to Ward 5A. The staff there were warm, friendly, and helpful and assisted with the blood draw. They used a vein finder to locate a vein and spoke with my child beforehand so he would not be afraid. They then took him to the ward for medication and nebulizer treatment. He stayed in the hospital for 4 days and 3 nights. The doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants all provided excellent care. Thank you very much!

    I have visited this dental clinic many times. The staff are always warm and friendly and provide easy-to-understand information. Even after a long time between visits, they ask how I have been as though greeting an old friend. They also offer advice when I have other dental concerns. The clinic receptionist, Khun Dear, is wonderful, as is my regular dentist, Dr. Morakot 👍👍👍

    The doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants are all excellent and highly skilled. Dr. Jakkapong in neurology is one of the most outstanding specialists in the field. The medical staff on ward 6B are also very kind, helpful, and attentive. More precisely, they are all excellent, but several were especially outstanding. I would like to list their names in Thai: nurses Yui, Nook, Som, Pang, Mind, and Muk; assistants Wan, Achi, Eva, Ple, Add, Nam, Fon, and others. I recommend BNH Hospital again.     My wife delivered in the maternity ward, and we upgraded to a VIP room. The experience was excellent. The nurses were very attentive and helped us greatly with postpartum care, including breastfeeding, bathing the baby, and my wife's recovery. The room was spacious and provided plenty of privacy when family and friends visited. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Many thanks to all the staff and nurses at BNH Hospital for their help.

    I came for treatment at the spine department on the 7th floor. An older female nurse wearing glasses spoke very rudely. I had already reported an accident insurance claim on the 1st floor. Because it was my first visit, I assumed the 1st floor would forward that information. The nurse upstairs did not ask, so I did not mention it again. At payment, there was a problem with the claim. Finance refused to help and told me to pay myself, then called the 7th floor and made me speak directly with the nurse. This nurse sounded displeased both the first and second times I visited. She was discourteous and disrespectful. A hospital of this standard should address patients appropriately, but she called me 'younger sibling' and spoke abruptly, as though annoyed.

    It feels odd to say i had a wonderful time with the worst stomach bug of my life, but Dr Suthep and the team on floor 6B made it bearable. They gave me fantastic care, answered all my questions; and the facility was remarkably nice. I would not wish this kind of stomach experience on anyone, but if you find yourself reading hospital reviews maybe you already are. Highly recommended!

    I am alive today because of Professor Apichai. I was at an event when I developed unbearable chest pain. Fortunately, Professor Apichai was there. He arranged an ambulance to take me to the hospital, cared for me, and transferred me to Chulalongkorn Hospital the next day because my records and scans were there. I was in critical condition and needed immediate surgery. One year later, I am healthy and came to thank him. To me, he is like an angel. Without him that day, I do not know whether I would still be alive. My deepest thanks to Professor Apichai. I also commend his expertise and kindness as a compassionate physician.     I stayed at BNH Hospital for 2 weeks and was deeply impressed by the excellent care from SPECIALIST Dr. Anchalee Senavonge (Asthma and Allergy Center) and Dr. Sayam Thaiudom (Digestive Care). Both doctors are highly skilled, thorough, polite, gentle, compassionate, and professional. Their kindness and attention helped me through a difficult time, and I truly appreciate their dedication. I was also very impressed by the professional, warm, and friendly care from all the nurses (Khun Kwang, Ple, May, Yui, Som, Add, Mook, Ava, Wilawan, Mint, and the IV Team) in Ward 6B, as well as all the housekeepers. They cared for patients like family, with smiles and heartfelt service that made me feel safe, comfortable, and worry-free. The hospital was extremely clean and met international standards, the food was delicious, and the in-bed hair-washing service was excellent.     We visited this hospital during our trip to Thailand because of otitis externa. The entire process, from arrival and treatment to receiving medication and discharge, was very fast and smooth. Everything was completed within just half an hour, and I received comprehensive care. All the staff also spoke very good English, which made the visit easier. We have absolutely no complaints and were very satisfied with the care. At the beginning, they photograph your passport to record your information. It was not a problem that some information in the passport was covered. Everything could also be paid by card without additional fees.

    A private hospital in Sathorn, mainly serving foreigners, with prices comparable to Bangkok Hospital.\nThe interior is acceptable; although older, it has been renovated and is not run-down. Restrooms are clean. There are many restaurants in the lane outside, forming a small food court. Parking is convenient but sometimes full.\nAvoid the lane in the afternoon and evening because an international school causes severe congestion; I have been stuck without moving for 1–2 hours.

    My child developed enteritis while traveling in Bangkok, so we visited this hospital urgently.\n\nThe staff and doctor were friendly, and basic English was enough for registration. As pediatrics was open, we used the outpatient department rather than the emergency room. Korean interpretation was available remotely, but because the doctor and interpreter spoke English, I could explain the situation directly. They also prepared insurance-claim documents on request, which was convenient. Consultation, medication, and injection cost about 130,000 won.

    I walked in without an appointment and saw an excellent consultant with almost no wait, followed five minutes later by a second consultant for an additional opinion. Both performed thorough examinations, explained their findings and recommendations in clear English, prescribed medication, and scheduled a follow-up within a week. 2,000 baht. First-class healthcare comparable to Bumrungrad Hospital.

    First, I want to say that this place looks beautiful. But the staff is so lazy; they just sit at their computers doing nothing! They completely forgot I had an appointment and wasted four hours of my day. A staff member claimed she was looking for me but could not find me even though I was in the waiting room! The doctor was also very unprofessional and just joked around. If this is what they call a doctor here, I think my 5-year-old daughter could work here if it only means sitting at a desk and clowning around. A circus would suit this staff better.

    What kind of mess is this?! It looks luxurious, but the service is not. First, they took 7 hours just to prepare for surgery and 9 hours calling the staff. They even charged for my young daughter when she received no treatment. I do not recommend this place at all.

    We visited the “Dermatology and Beauty Center” near the company's main exit. We had a consultation and underwent the procedure. We signed documents for a bill of 7,000 baht, but the cashier's bill was 12,000 baht. In addition to the medications we discussed, they included 6 other medications on the bill. When asked why the doctor had not mentioned the additional medications, everyone shrugged and nervously clicked through the system to go home as quickly as possible. It was very unpleasant. We will not return, and I do not recommend this facility to any foreign visitor. They treat you like a tourist who can be charged anything and will simply pay it.

    My first few visits here were excellent, with prompt service, excellent practitioners, and good treatment. I was happy to have found what seemed like an excellent care facility. Recently, I have felt more like an opportunity for upselling than a patient. This occurred during my latest visit, and the experience was poor, so I may consider other options. Basic examinations have also become more expensive, although after checking, this appears to be happening at many hospitals.

    I had a cold. The hotel and local friends recommended this hospital. I came on a Saturday afternoon without an appointment, and a doctor was available before 7 p.m. I first registered downstairs, then went to the fourth floor for weight and height measurements, followed by blood pressure and heart rate checks. I saw a doctor within 30 minutes, and he spoke English very well. The total cost was approximately 2,000 baht, including a 1,000-baht consultation fee. The doctor asked which medications you wanted, such as an additional nasal rinse or spray, and recommended a COVID-19 test, but you can always decline. Overall, a very good experience!

    So this is how a nationally recognized doctor cares for patients. I had prompt surgery for a cervical herniated disc with Dr. Wichanyingsakmongkol. It has now been 6 months, and my symptoms have not improved at all. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Wichan, but he did not come to see me. Although I checked in next door, Dr. Athit saw me instead. When the condition did not improve and we went back, the conversation was rushed, and no guidance was given about what the patient should do next. This was unlike before surgery, when we spoke for over an hour. This is how a nationally recognized doctor treats patients. The other services were acceptable.

    Come here for a preconception health screening. The advice and service are excellent, and the doctor explains health preparation in detail. You can register and be examined promptly without a long wait. We recommend their services. Valet parking is available at the hospital entrance, making everything convenient.

    The best hospital in Bangkok. Service is very fast and the staff are very helpful. I was treated here by a dermatologist and have seen a major improvement in my skin. My younger brother also had nasal surgery here and can finally breathe after 23 years. The doctors and nurses provided excellent care.

    This hospital has become a scam. I was charged 1,920 baht for a 10-minute doctor visit: a 1,500-baht doctor's fee and a 420-baht hospital administration fee. I only came for a follow-up and a medical certificate to refill my medication. When I asked why the doctor's fee was so much higher than last time, when it was 500 baht, they could not answer, so there is essentially no transparency. I understand there is a price range, but prices should be more consistent. The 420 administration fee is also very high. It is better to find another hospital.

    When calling an ambulance, quickly mention that insurance will cover it so they can skip the cost assessment. At the ER, the doctor arrived quickly and was polite and kind. The nurses provided good care and successfully drew blood and started an IV on the first attempt. The room was attractive and comfortable.

    Suspicious to the point of absurdity. I came in today with a sore throat. After a series of unnecessary tests, the final diagnosis was that it might be bacterial and could be treated with medication. Total bill? 6,700 baht. Ridiculous.

    October 1, 2024 I brought my wife in with vertigo, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, and vomiting. All the doctors, nurses, and staff were helpful and caring, and a room became available quickly.     Two months ago, I made an appointment with Dr. Theodphong Temphak. I told the nurse we would be traveling from Koh Phangan in Surat Thani and asked for a confirmed date. She scheduled September 24 at 6:00 p.m. On September 22, before boarding the ferry from Koh Phangan, I called to confirm. I was told I had reached the children's department. The person receiving the message did not contact that department, but checked and confirmed the appointment for Tuesday, September 24 at 6:00 p.m., saying a nurse would call again the next day. We therefore left Koh Phangan, stayed overnight in Prachuap, and reached Bangkok around 4:00 p.m. on September 23. Today, September 23, a nurse called—but to cancel because the doctor had traveled abroad. We explained how far we had come from Koh Phangan and asked why we were not informed earlier, especially after calling to confirm. Hospital staff had not contacted pediatrics. The nurse said the note did not mention Koh Phangan, Surat Thani, and that the system already showed the doctor's overseas travel, but she did not know why the appointment had been confirmed. We are disappointed by the performance of a private hospital over 100 years old, Thailand's first private hospital. Its system is managed very poorly. We traveled a long, exhausting distance hoping to see the doctor we had waited two months for and receive treatment. We now feel angry, disappointed, and deeply upset by the work of this hospital's staff.

    The hotel receptionist called to ask the cost of cleaning and dressing my surgical wound and was quoted 2500b. When I arrived, they said 5000b. I said I would leave, so they asked how much money I had. I said 2500b. The nurse said she had consulted the doctor. I waited, but felt the price for simple cleaning and dressing was excessive; I needed no medication, only a regular adhesive dressing to secure the pressure. I bought cleaning supplies and bandages at the pharmacy next door and did it myself for 700b.

    I went here after food poisoning. Pros: - The nurses are wonderful, with excellent bedside manner. They truly care for you. - The staff speak English. - Admission was quick on a Friday night. Cons: - Although I felt much better, the doctor still insisted on unnecessary tests and wanted me to stay another night for ‘observation.’ Overall, I would still recommend this place. Be cautious about recommended additional tests and services, and ask questions.

    I went to the dental clinic for cleaning and examination. The dentist sent me for an X-ray, performed the cleaning, and charged 5,000 baht. She also said I needed a root canal and several fillings costing over 100,000 baht. I sought a second opinion from a dentist outside the hospital. After another X-ray, I was told I needed neither a root canal nor fillings, and the new dentist gave me the images as proof. The hospital dentist did not give me my X-rays. I am glad I sought a second opinion and learned that I did not need these procedures, or the first dentist might have emptied my bank account.

    I came here for wound dressing and rabies vaccination after a dog bite while vacationing in Bangkok. The service was excellent: no emergency-room wait and professional, helpful, English-speaking staff. I received all documents needed for a later insurance claim and a course of antibiotics. I almost left without the medicine because it was unclear which counter needed my paper on the way out, but the pharmacist noticed and called me back so I could resolve it. I appreciated how easily I obtained the injections and continued my holiday without stress. The hospital is easy to reach by BTS and MRT.

    My family and I have visited this hospital for the past 10 years. Our family has had minor procedures and annual full-body checkups here. For us, it is by far the best hospital in Bangkok. Special recognition also goes to ophthalmology; the staff there are wonderful, as are the other departments. I do wish their English would improve somewhat. Keep up the good work! 👍

    I highly recommend this place! On August 12 at 3 a.m., I was rushed to the emergency department and diagnosed with anaphylactic shock. The staff acted swiftly; I was immediately taken to a bed and received prompt care. The doctor on duty spoke fluent English, and I am very grateful for his professionalism and patience. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, I truly appreciate the excellent care I received from BNH, even in the early hours of the morning. Thumbs up!

    I consulted several spine specialists in the United States and Thailand. I have excellent health insurance in the United States, while in Thailand I had to pay cash. Ultimately, I felt the greatest confidence in Dr. Wicharn at BNH Hospital, so I had the surgery there. It was a highly complex procedure—some specialists declined my case because of the complexity—that required removing old hardware, repairing a previous failed fusion, installing new hardware across additional vertebrae, performing multiple laminectomies, and more. The entire experience was outstanding, and I hope to regain mobility I have not had for years. I had never before experienced such attentive and thorough care. Highly recommended.

    A complete scam. I do not know how it compares with other hospitals in Bangkok; they may be just as bad. In my experience with doctors in Thailand, they all charge large additional hidden fees for things you do not need and that are completely unnecessary. Despite having an appointment, I spent 3 hours there while my son had an X-ray. The staff were unhelpful and unfriendly. I asked for an approximate cost before going, but they added many ridiculous extra charges. I refused to pay some of them. Surgery was recommended, but I believe it was almost certainly unnecessary and was suggested only because they would make more money from it. I will therefore pay for a remote consultation with a UK doctor. I would not trust anything they say; they will only try to extract as much money from you as possible.

    Excellent service. We went at 5 p.m. today because my husband had injured his toe on a boat and we wanted him to have an X-ray. They treated us very well and were quick. Within 1 and a half hours, we had completed the X-ray, seen the doctor, received the medication, and finished the health insurance paperwork. The orthopedic doctor treated us very well. He was very kind, and a nurse stayed with us throughout. The short hospital visit cost 8,500 baht, but thanks to our insurance we did not have to worry about anything.

    I have no complaints about the doctor I saw, only about the hospital administration. After a long but understandable wait to see the doctor well beyond my appointment time, I then had to queue for nearly an hour to pay my bill after the visit. I was paying in cash. This is completely unacceptable. It simply shows poor hospital management and a lack of respect for patients' time. I will try another hospital next time.

    I have an annual health checkup, and insurance covers almost everything. At first, I did not know whether I would need to pay for the tests and vaccines. When the nurse recommended them, we were taken for various examinations and cared for like VIPs. Whenever I asked at the counter, everyone was happy to answer.     I developed severe flu symptoms and tested positive for highly contagious influenza A. At 6 a.m. on a Saturday in July 2024, I went to the BNH emergency room. It was not busy, and I was taken straight to an examination room. A chest X-ray, oral swab test, doctor consultation, and prescription medication cost a total of $215 (7,730 baht). It was a very quick and positive experience. The staff were extremely polite and caring and escorted me wherever I needed to go. I was in and out in 1.5 hours. In the United States, I would have been there for at least 5 hours, mostly waiting for tests and the doctor—not to mention the high out-of-pocket cost with my health insurance. I estimate an ER visit there would have cost about $1,000. I highly recommend this hospital.

    We are from Taiwan 🇹🇼 and came to this large hospital because our child had an emergency. There is no need to worry about translation because Chinese interpreters are available. Even if you do not speak English, the medical staff patiently communicate through phone translation. The environment is excellent 👍 The doctors and nurses have very high standards and listen patiently. The rooms are very clean and tidy, almost like staying in a hotel. The bathrooms have clean toothbrushes, toothpaste, hand soap, body wash, and bath towels. Thank you to this hospital for its help 🙏 I highly recommend it to foreigners with emergencies 😃
