Unlike many other Ukrainian hospitals, Ukraine's Institute of Reproductive Medicine (IRM) has a long history. Its founder, Professor Fedor Dakhno, established Dakhno Ltd., Kyiv's first private hospital to use assisted reproductive technology.

Professor Dakhno was a pioneer in reproductive medicine in Ukraine. Under his leadership, IVF was used in the country for the first time, producing its first IVF embryo in 1984. At his initiative, the Kharkiv Center for Human Reproduction was established in 1985, followed by centers in Kyiv in 1991 and the Association of Reproductive Medicine in 1994. From the 1980s onward, he was one of Ukraine's leading gynecologists, introducing the experience and successful methods of international fertility specialists while training professionals in IVF and embryo culture.

Under Professor Dakhno's leadership, Ukraine's first successful IVF program resulted in the birth of a baby girl, Katya, in 1991.

In 1993, through the efforts of Dakhno and his colleagues, Ukraine's first baby conceived through intra-abdominal insemination was born.

In 1995, the world's first Ukrainian IVF birth from a donated egg carried by the intended mother occurred.

In 1997, intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) was performed for the first time in a Ukrainian outpatient clinic. The institute continues to improve and introduce advanced technologies so more people can receive better treatment. Professor Dakhno is active in assisted reproduction and has played an important role in implementing relevant Ukrainian law. He is deputy head of the Ukrainian Association of Reproductive Medicine, the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, and Ukraine's reproductive medicine ethics and law working group.

The medical staff are pleasant, and everything is simply of the highest standard 😊 We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Nataliia Volodymyrivna Bodnar for her outstanding professionalism, care, support, and attentiveness throughout the NSZU program 🤗 Our story began sometime back in 2015. My husband and I visited many clinics and went through a great deal, but none of our attempts were successful. For a while, we let the matter rest, then returned to it and tried again. When we found Dr. Nataliia Volodymyrivna Bodnar, we decided to trust her 100% percent. She is attentive, calm, and confident in everything she does—a true professional. Before becoming pregnant, my husband and I had a preventive checkup at the clinic and were very satisfied. After I became pregnant, we decided to go to Dakhno for the second screening. After the screening, I consulted an OB-GYN, and the result shocked me😧 The doctor did not review my blood tests or take any measurements; she only cared about when my next appointment would be. I paid 1,200 Ukrainian hryvnias...but did not receive a proper examination.

My experience at DAKHO clinic was disappointing. I initially received treatment from Dr. Yuliya Mykhailivna Brovarska, and everything seemed fine until, without warning, she transferred me to another doctor before the retrieval because of ‘family circumstances.’ At the most important stage, I lost the person I had trusted. At my first appointment with the other doctor, Sirenko, they even suggested that I purchase donor eggs. I refused because I wanted to use my own eggs. They told me, ‘What will we do if pregnancy is unsuccessful? We will have to consider adoption.’ Such pressure and indifference on such a sensitive issue are not only unprofessional but cruel. The attitude is cold, doctors are inconsistent, and the clinic values profit over patients. I do not recommend this clinic to anyone seeking humanity, stability, and support on the path to motherhood.

Dr. Serenko Vera Yuryevna apparently needs to assess the situation properly, especially considering age. Patients come for a consultation, but there was no real doctor-patient dialogue. The doctor applied inappropriate pressure and was unable to take a proper medical history or discuss the reason for the visit.

Thanks to his hard work, knowledge, and skill, I—who had lived with an infertility diagnosis for eight years before it turned out that my husband had an issue—became pregnant on our first IVF attempt. We are now the parents of the most beautiful girl, Vladyslavka. I recommend Andrii Volodymyrovych to all my friends and relatives because he is exactly the kind of doctor you can trust with your health.

Sirenko Vera Yuryevna was my doctor for an IVF cycle. It was my first IVF cycle, so I cannot give an objective assessment, but it was unsuccessful (my second cycle at another clinic went well). What pains me is that I recommended this doctor to someone I love... At this point, it seems like outright extortion. My loved one underwent three IVF cycles in succession (two back-to-back, then another after a one-month break). Other doctors were shocked when consulted about this protocol. I do not even want to discuss the outcome, but Vera Yuryevna ruined someone's health (she is now recovering from surgery because of this doctor's misconduct). This was not negligence; it was criminal. I do not believe this was an isolated case. The only reason she is not going to court is that she is physically and emotionally exhausted.

She created an atmosphere of trust, purpose, and belief in success. After 15 years of trying, we succeeded in less than a year. Parenthood is a joy worth fighting for, and Iryna Yakivna helped us complete that journey. Thank you; I sincerely recommend this physician.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank Dakhno Clinic and the wonderful Dr. Sirenko, Vera Yuryivna, for giving me the opportunity to become the mother of the best boy. Vira Yuriivna is a doctor who never leaves you alone with your problems and always offers help, as she did for me. I visited many reproductive specialists, and their final response was to give up and say that adoption was the only option. It was terrible, and I lost hope. Thank God I was referred to Vira Yuryivna. On the second attempt, the test showed the two long-awaited lines. I will thank this doctor for the rest of my life. She is an exceptional doctor and a professional in her field. I will always be grateful to Vira Yuryivna. I also thank the manager, Taisia, who always finds exactly the words a person needs. Today I called this clinic to clarify information about a fluoroscopy examination. They said everything was fine and that I could come at any time before 14:00. After arriving, I paid for the service, but when I was taken into the office, I learned that the equipment had not been working since the morning. They did not warn me by phone. I waited 15 minutes in the hope that the problem would be resolved, but nothing was fixed. All they told me was, “We do not know whether they will repair it today. You can wait or come tomorrow.” I had no more time to wait, so I decided to request a refund. The refund process was lengthy: I had to provide documents, complete forms, and wait at the cashier. This took about another 30 minutes. One other point: approximately 90% of the staff speak Russian. I personally do not care, but it may matter to some people. In total, I wasted 3 hours. I do not recommend this clinic. Even after taking payment, they could not provide proper service, and recovering your money takes considerable time.

He guided us very carefully through every stage of examinations, preparation, and the IVF cycle itself. He took my difficulties during preparation to heart, adjusted appointments, and stayed in constant contact. This is extremely important during such a demanding time, when your nerves are stretched taut and every issue, even the smallest one, can feel like the end of the world.
