I cannot believe how this place operates. The experience was terrible. They treat you like a number, not an individual. They are quick to label cases as "unexplained infertility" or age-related infertility because that is easier for them. It was such a waste of time that I could not go back. Even getting test results took a month. I had an MRI, and no one would return my call about the results or let me schedule an office visit unless I waited a month for an opening to discuss them. What a joke. There is absolutely no urgency at this office. My husband and I were waiting for a procedure, and I was supposed to receive a call the day before with instructions. I called the office 3 times and did not hear back until 6:00 the night before. We did not even know whether it was still happening, which is disgraceful for a medical office. My husband was unsure whether he could take the day off because it was so last-minute. I could go on about their other problems. Since switching to a new clinic, however, the experience has been like night and day.

I just had an HSG at the Melville office. I was afraid to go, but the staff and Dr. Goldsammler were wonderful! They calmed me, guided me through the entire process, and completed it quickly.

My initial experience here was wonderful. I met Dr. McAvey and felt a connection. She listened to my husband and me and explained our options. Things moved fairly quickly, and we were excited to begin our RMA journey. I must say that communication about medication and treatment was poor. Because they do this routinely, I think they assume everyone should know what to do, but that is not the case. Fortunately, I work in healthcare, so I understood what I needed to do and had a director and clinical team who could help when needed. They perform an ultrasound before you begin, and I do not think mine was accurate at all. I was told everything was clear and perfect, which was not true. During treatment, a nurse saw a cyst on two ultrasounds. When I asked once or twice, the doctor said it was nothing to worry about, which was also untrue. During my retrieval, the doctor thought she saw a blocked fallopian tube or "something else." Instead of discussing it with me, they decided on their own to proceed with transfer. We know how that ended: the transfer failed, and I did not become pregnant. Only then did the doctor say I should have an HSG and evaluation. Had I known earlier, I would not have wasted 2 embryos or had false hope, and I could have had surgery to correct the issue before the transfer cycle. This place is all about money, and no one truly cares about your well-being. I am now receiving emails about embryo storage fees even though I am waiting for surgery to remove the blocked fallopian tube, which will hopefully improve my chance of pregnancy through IVF. I am also still waiting for a return call about my concerns.

I would not recommend RMA to anyone. If you are 40 or older, do not go here. I spent a great deal of money there. I had a fibroid that the doctors and nurses failed to detect. On transfer day, the doctor could not place the embryo. I was in pain and shaking and asked him to stop, but he said he could not and they continued the procedure. Two weeks after the transfer, another doctor found my fibroid. I wrote to request my money back. The woman in billing, Vitalia, told me she could not refund me. Do not go here.

I love Chris. She is the best. She drew my blood and assisted with the saline ultrasound. She was wonderful. I also want to praise Nancy at the front desk. This is my second round, and they are the best!

Clean, quick, and friendly. Shout-out to Chris! She was very kind and patiently drew my blood.

I went to another clinic and completed two IVF cycles, but my previous doctor gave up on me. I did some research and found Dr. McCarvey. As soon as I met her, she recognized that my protocol needed to change and was very confident. I completed one IVF cycle with her, and she helped me become pregnant. The staff there were wonderful. Dr. McCarvey listened to me, believed in me, and did everything she could to help me conceive. I will always be grateful to her for my beautiful angel baby.

I wasted my insurance benefits on this clinic. They only care about money. Different staff members called with conflicting information, and I had to email multiple people to get a response. My insurance did not approve pregnancy testing. As soon as the egg retrieval was over, they invented a reason that there was a semen problem and made me pay $2500 in cash out of pocket. Otherwise, they could not proceed. So of course I had to pay! My insurance company required a sample to approve pregnancy testing, and the clinic provided nothing. They told me they would submit it to insurance and I would be reimbursed. I followed up repeatedly, but the financial director never answered my emails. Months later, when I emailed again, she said she was paid per diem...so she had no time to respond since July? Now it is too late! Do not let them manipulate you and take your money. Switch clinics! You will thank me!

I have to agree with many of the reviews for RMA Long Island located in Garden City. You would think an office where most of the staff are women, there would be more compassion and empathy, especially surrounding infertility. But nope! This place is not cheap either. I have been going here for almost a year and saw Dr. MacAvey once. After that I have only seen the nurses. They are all robots. Drawing blood, doing sonos, and getting you out of that chair. This is my first time doing treatments and no one explained the side effects of the medications. I had to pay ER a visit and do my own research. The front desk staff like Nancy and the other woman always look like they had a fight before coming to work. The nurses are rude like Olga and don't give you any information other than what I can read myself on paper. I have had multiple IUIs and I am largely considering another clinic since no one really cares to provide me with more support or guidance. Also, you have to call yourself for reminders for appointments and times, since no one will do that for you.

The front desk and nurses were extremely rude, especially nurse Olga. My doctor, Dr. McKeeby, is kind, and coordinator Angie is helpful. But the nurses, particularly Olga, were extremely rude. She showed no empathy and does not know how to communicate with patients. I hope they replace her with a much better nurse. My poor rating is entirely because of her.

The staff are always quick, friendly, and highly efficient! I have had many blood draws recently, but no one does them better than Bintu! She and this clinic are amazing!

My experience at RMA was excellent from start to finish. Dr. McAvey is the best! She is compassionate and knowledgeable. She always explained everything clearly, told me what to expect, and never gave me unrealistic hope, which I appreciated throughout the process. The nurses were also wonderful. They were kind, supportive, and passionate about their work, and they always made me feel safe and cared for throughout IVF. I am now 21 weeks pregnant and incredibly grateful to RMA for giving my husband and me this opportunity. I will always appreciate the care and support we received here. Thank you ❤️

RMA truly works miracles! Dr. McAvey and her team are exceptional. After years of struggling with infertility and endometriosis, they helped me achieve my dream of becoming pregnant on my first embryo transfer. The process is long and physically and emotionally demanding, but the team guides you every step of the way. They are very professional. They handle all the testing, medications, and laboratory work, making the process as convenient as possible. Highly recommended!!

Terrible office. 0 stars. They called on the morning of my appointment saying it had to be canceled for some reason. Three or four times, the receptionist made excuses to reschedule it a month later, so I finally gave up. Negative five stars if possible.

Stay away from Beth McAvey and RMA Garden City. They use the same treatment plan for everyone and apply it mechanically. They are very casual about the timing of stimulation injections, and the laboratory results are mediocre at best. After your first meeting, you will never see Dr. Beth McAvey again. During that meeting, she talks like a salesperson promoting a product. She may then call three days after an embryo transfer fails because your medication was handled incorrectly. The nurses are uninformed, especially Olga, who should not be allowed to practice medicine.

I had a great experience freezing my eggs at RMA! Dr. McAvey is wonderful—knowledgeable, energetic, and a good listener. I trusted her completely. My coordinator Angie replied to emails promptly and answered all my questions carefully. Ulga, who performed the ultrasounds, was also wonderful and put me at ease. Chrissy was the best and was very gentle and attentive during blood draws. I gave her a big hug on my last day because she was so compassionate. Nancy at the front desk works very hard and always greets everyone entering RMA with a smile. If you have questions during injections, you can contact the on-call nurse at any time. I am glad I chose RMA. My egg retrieval was successful, and I would definitely recommend Dr. McAvey!

Thanks to Dr. McAvey, we welcomed our baby girl a week ago. We are very grateful to her and the staff at the Garden City location. She is knowledgeable, honest, and confident in her approach, which is encouraging for patients. We trusted that she knew what she was doing, and she communicated with us by email when we had questions. I would say that she does not hold your hand; interactions are mainly during appointments or by email. If you need to reach her, tell the front desk and ask for the best way to contact her. That worked for us. We highly recommend Dr. M.

This practice is only about money. IVF treatment requires personalized service and attentive doctors who adjust medications throughout the process because every person's body and response to medication differ greatly. You will not receive that care or personalized service here; you are just a number at this clinic.

Terrible office. 0 stars. They called the morning of my appointment and came up with every possible reason to cancel. After the receptionist's third or fourth poor attempt to explain why they needed to reschedule me a month later, I simply said to forget it. Negative 5 stars if I could.

Dr. McAvey is an excellent doctor and person. Her bedside manner and overall positivity make a great difference. My husband and I had our initial consultation with Dr. McAvey in January, and after the first appointment we trusted that she would help us grow our family. Although the road has not been smooth and there have been some bumps along the way, RMA is making the process as seamless as possible. Whenever I have questions, the nurses promptly return my calls, and my IVF coordinator Molly is organized, understanding, and wonderful. The office is clean, and I never wait long to be seen. The nurses and staff at RMA Garden City and Melville are very kind and caring and always greet me with a smile. When I had my egg retrieval at the Melville location, I truly felt well cared for by the entire operating room team. I expressed my anxiety, and the excellent nurses and doctors immediately helped me relax. Whether I was having blood work or an ultrasound, the nurses were knowledgeable, gentle, wonderful, and very kind. Although my husband and I still have a long journey ahead, we are glad to have started this process with Dr. McAvey and RMA. So far, our overall experience has been positive. Thank you to everyone at RMA, especially Dr. McAvey. We highly recommend Dr. McAvey for fertility care.
