This my updated peice of what happened during labor, rhe nurse abused me while i was in labor for 10 hours. she refused to stay in the room because i refused to wear a covid mask while i was in active labor, she stormed out and said im going on break. this is what happened before having my son Emergency room is dirty and my nurse didnt talk to me much. got yelled at by a asian er nurse for no reason and told me to leave the emergency room. my room was also dirty used masks in my gown and used gloves and wrappers on the floor. also having a kid here and my obgyn talks about planned parenthood all the time to me and treats me like i dumb and special, overall i this hospital makes me feel uncomfortable.

My grandmother was brought in by ambulance at around 11 this morning. It is now nearly 6, and she is still in the waiting room because they say they are understaffed. Of course, they will not send her somewhere else where she could receive proper care. Instead, this "wonderful" hospital will leave her in the waiting room for who knows how long. If you want your loved one to receive actual treatment, do not go to this hospital.

My experience here was absolutely wonderful. I expected to stay only a few hours but ended up being hospitalized for six days and five nights.
I unexpectedly learned that I needed major surgery at five months pregnant for a condition unrelated to the pregnancy. It was the most frightening experience of my adult life.
I can speak only from my own experience, but every member of the medical team cared for me attentively and took my condition very seriously. I was glad to be discharged, but the care was so thoughtful that I would have willingly stayed a few more days if needed.
When I was discharged, I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I sincerely thank my surgeon, nurses, and everyone on the care team who worked so hard for the health of me and my unborn baby.
Thank you all so much. I look forward to returning to labor and delivery in a few months. If possible, I hope to see some of the ICU nurses again too!

The ridiculous repeating recording and frustrating waits of more than 1 hour across multiple attempts, without being able to schedule a colonoscopy, are extremely unprofessional. This clearly shows that UMASS cannot compete or meet patients' needs. Their bottom line is saving money with recordings instead of letting patients speak to a real person. A terrible precedent. I wish I could give zero stars.

Everyone was caring, patient with my questions, and kind. They went above and beyond, especially during my emergency surgery. I was very satisfied with the care from the nurses and doctors. Thank you to everyone at UMass Memorial Hospital.

I broke my arm in May 2025 and waited 8 hours just to be sent for an X-ray. After several more hours of examinations, getting a sling, and having X-rays taken, I was sent home shortly after midnight. The hospital was otherwise fine, but I had to deduct a few stars because of the long wait.

I cannot even reach anyone by phone to make an appointment. How could I possibly receive treatment?
“Press 5 for customer service” does not work. Even if you finally reach someone, they transfer you to an invalid number.
If it is this difficult simply to contact a competent person, that says a great deal about the poor service.

With so many negative reviews, I am not surprised. My appointment was at 9:15, and I told them at 9:04 that I would arrive on time. When I reached the clinic, I did not see a doctor, only
a nurse,
who said, “You will have to come back another time to see the doctor, or go to a small clinic.”
What is the point of having a primary care doctor?
No one here cares, including the patient advocacy office. They only want to cover up every problem.

The staff were wonderful, but most importantly, the room was beautiful—the best hotel we have ever stayed in. It was like a five-star hotel.

If I could give zero stars, I would. They were extremely rude, unprofessional, and impatient. Why work in a hospital if you do not want to help patients? These matters are critical and potentially dangerous. People are facing all kinds of difficulties, yet you hang up and put them at risk because you dislike your job. It is unbelievable. You people are disgusting.

I am deeply disappointed with the care my son received at UMass Medical Center. He was sent there directly from the emergency department because doctors suspected a skull fracture and said he needed an immediate CT scan. What should have been handled urgently became a frustrating 8-hour ordeal.
The delays were unacceptable. Staff took far too long to perform the scan, and obtaining the results took even longer. When a head injury is suspected, time matters. Prolonged waiting with almost no communication only worsened an already serious situation and increased our anxiety and fear.
Even worse was how my son was treated during his stay. He was never placed in an appropriate room and remained in the hallway. No patient, especially one being evaluated for a skull fracture, should be left in a hallway for hours without privacy, comfort, or proper care.
He was also placed beside a woman who was clearly using drugs. While every patient deserves care and compassion, the hospital failed to separate patients according to their medical circumstances or provide an appropriate care environment. My son is a polite, well-educated young Black man who came with a serious health concern. The lack of care, attention, and professionalism showed us how UMass Memorial Medical Center “cares” for patients.
A hospital should make patients feel safe when they are most vulnerable. Unfortunately, this experience felt chaotic, indifferent, and severely lacking in basic respect and urgency.

I accompanied my girlfriend to the hospital with stroke symptoms, later confirmed to be a stroke. We waited three and a half hours to see a doctor. An hour later, an intoxicated girl with a broken wrist arrived and was seen first.

Dani (Danielle) in the recovery room was wonderful—thoughtful, caring, and definitely one of the best nurses there. I had a difficult recovery, but she made everything so much easier. I am truly grateful to her! I hope she sees this and knows how much I appreciate her! I am also very grateful to most of the staff for their attentive care, especially Annie, the nurse on the third floor from 11 to 7. She was extremely attentive and thoughtful! I received the best care there and am truly grateful to everyone! As a healthcare professional, I know what high-quality care should look like, and every one of you exceeded my expectations! Thank you so much! I would also like to thank Dr. Nixon for all the help you have given me over the years! Go team! ❤️

I had two spine surgeries here with Dr. Stof. Dr. Stof and his team are highly skilled. Dr. Stof is extremely knowledgeable about the spine. The recovery room nurses were also wonderful and did an excellent job. I spent a week in the hospital, and from my first day to my last, all the nurses did everything they could for me until I was discharged home.
The one recurring issue I have with Dr. Stof's medical staff and the questionnaires he provides, which must be completed after every visit and annual follow-up, is that his visit notes and summaries do not fully reflect what the patient tells him about their condition, problems, and physical limitations! I have raised this issue with the doctor and medical staff at every visit since 1990, but he continues to document things as he sees fit! I believe doctors should accurately record what patients report, not their own assumptions!
