I left IRH and came here, and I am glad I did. There are not many reviews or much positive information online. Dr. Robertshaw is great, and the entire process was smooth and quick.

They never answer the phone. You always leave a voicemail and they say they will call back. I called almost two weeks ago.

We received treatment during 2020, but it was unsuccessful because of carelessness by Dr. Reynolds and Dr. Robertshaw. We were treated by Dr. Robertshaw and underwent IUI and IVF. Just 2 days before the scheduled egg retrieval, we were told Dr. Robertshaw would be unavailable because she was on leave. Giving us only 2 days' notice was ridiculous. Dr. Reynolds was the covering doctor. She performed an ultrasound the day before retrieval and said the number of oocytes was twice what Dr. Robertshaw had told us. We were reluctant to proceed and asked whether Dr. Robertshaw could change her vacation, but the clinic refused. Robertshaw did well throughout treatment except for the retrieval. The first issue was that Dr. Reynolds did not correctly identify the number of oocytes. Second issue: one hour before the hCG trigger injection, the clinic called to change the retrieval time from 11 a.m. to 7 a.m. They kept changing things at every moment. Third issue: the retrieval started almost 45 minutes late. Fourth issue: afterward, the nurse told us that 4 eggs had been retrieved from 14 follicles and only 1 was mature. This was very concerning, and when we asked why so few eggs were retrieved, their answer shocked us: ovulation may have occurred before retrieval. I do not recommend Bethesda. Dr. Robertshaw is good, but she did not complete her work. Anyone receiving treatment should not rely on them completely. Do all your due diligence before IVF and obtain written confirmation from the doctor before the procedure.

Dr. Robertshaw and her staff are wonderful. I would recommend them to anyone experiencing fertility difficulties. Dr. Robertshaw is kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Our nurse, Tiffany, gave us clear information and instructions. I called the on-call nurse after hours twice and was connected immediately both times. My husband and I felt very confident in the care provided throughout the IVF process. We will return to Bethesda Fertility Center in the future so we can continue growing our family. We look forward to working with this clinic again.
