I appreciated being able to communicate with them through Klara. Tina was wonderful in helping us throughout the process, and Dr. Karmon was also excellent! We had a wonderful experience at Hawaii Institute for Reproductive Medicine. Everyone was very kind, we received quick responses, and appointments were scheduled promptly. They accommodated our schedule, and the wait at every appointment was very reasonable. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

This place is very shady. They charged me for an appointment to check whether I had good swimmers because my wife and I were trying to become pregnant. I needed a referral to have it done. As soon as they received the referral, they began trying to make me pay for the entire treatment program. I kept telling them I only needed a sperm count. When they learned that my wife and I did not plan to complete the entire program with them, they became very unprofessional. I finally obtained an appointment. I should also mention that none of this was covered by insurance. I had to fly in from the Big Island the night before. When we arrived, we both commented on how cold and “clinical” the clinic felt. They said results would take 7-10 days and told us not to contact them because the results would be sent to my referring doctor's office. When the results arrived, no one at my clinic could interpret them. The report stated that I had to be a patient of the Fertility Institute of Hawaii to have the results explained. They took my money for the test but refused to tell me what the results meant unless I paid them more. This must be illegal. Perhaps calling a Hawaii news outlet would make a good story. Updated response: Thank you for confirming what I already wrote. You charged me for a test to assess my sperm viability. That is the test I needed. When the results came back, you were the only ones who could tell me or explain what they meant, but you would not do so unless I paid more. Today we will email local news organizations to explain this practice. Perhaps it is newsworthy, perhaps not, but this is certainly not how a Hawaii business should operate.

We received treatment at the clinic for several months and always felt supported and valued. It was wonderful to have questions answered quickly and appointments scheduled promptly. The entire team feels like a family supporting you throughout your journey.

The entire staff are wonderful. Every concern, question, or thought was always addressed. I always felt heard and that my opinions and thoughts mattered. Everything was explained in great detail. Everyone had a great personality and positive energy. I always looked forward to my appointments, even when the results were not what I hoped for. When we had to postpone or cancel part of a cycle and start over, I felt comforted by so many kind words and positive affirmations. I truly love the entire team here. My FET cycle was wonderful. It was initially canceled and we had to start again, but Julia and Dr. Frattarelli were very supportive and encouraging, and we were able to proceed with the transfer the second time. The transfer itself was wonderful. Every staff member we met was excited and happy for my husband and me. The atmosphere was amazing. The embryologist was wonderful, and we received many photos and videos of the actual procedure. I would recommend them 10/10 to anyone seeking infertility care.

Dr. J. Frattarelli and the IHF staff were very helpful and supportive. Addie and Julia were highly attentive coordinators who answered our questions quickly.

Throughout my life, I believed motherhood was beyond my reach; however, FIH brought a remarkable change to our lives. Dr. Karmon, Nurse Gretchen, and the entire staff showed exceptional patience, provided comprehensive information, and offered unwavering support throughout the process. The facility is not only conveniently located but also beautiful. Klara facilitated smooth communication, and I always felt supported and well cared for. My husband and I had a wonderful experience here. Dr. Goulet and her team were very professional and kind. They responded very promptly; we could text them questions directly, and they sent us all the ultrasound images. They supported us throughout treatment and early pregnancy. I was very ill in early pregnancy, and as this was my first pregnancy, having them guide us through it was a lifesaver. My only feedback, and the reason I gave four stars instead of five, is that the "dignity drape" provided for transvaginal ultrasounds was too small. It is disposable, which is understandable given laundry costs, but other OB-GYN offices I have visited have larger disposable drapes. I personally prefer a slightly larger drape and kept meaning to bring my own, which I am sure they would not mind. Otherwise, the experience was excellent. Highly recommended, but if you are modest, consider bringing your own drape.

My wife and I had an excellent experience at this clinic. Dr. Frattarelli, Julia, Abbie, Chandra, and the other team members were extremely supportive and made us feel at home. Communication was always open, the environment was clean, and our questions were answered promptly without our feeling rushed. After undergoing several fertility treatments on the island, we could not have found a better fertility provider. We are very grateful for their care.

I am filled with gratitude and affection for Dr. Karmon and her entire team. Fertility treatment is expensive, difficult, and emotionally draining. FIH exceeded my expectations in every way. First, Dr. Karmon is exactly the doctor you want on your team! She is warm, knowledgeable, and highly skilled. She worked with us to develop a personalized treatment plan that helped us overcome various challenges, while remaining very encouraging and answering every question and concern. She is honest and thorough, and you can feel her passion for her work. The nurse coordinators are wonderful. They are organized, stay in contact, and provide attentive care at every step, sometimes even hands-on help. Tina was like an angel to me. Zoe made blood draws quick and painless. The surgical team was efficient and made the uncomfortable parts much more comfortable. Thank you, Camille! The front desk staff, billing staff, medical assistants, LPNs/RNs, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, embryologists, and anesthesiologists were all excellent. They were friendly, professional, and attentive. I had a positive interaction with every person I met here. Less important, but still a nice touch: the clinic itself is spacious and beautiful. The view from the waiting area is breathtaking. The operating room, laboratory, and embryo storage are all on site, making everything convenient. Ala Moana Hospital provides free parking for appointments. In terms of cost, IVF is an investment regardless, but when our insurance benefits were exhausted, they worked with us to find the best option. I hope I have not forgotten anything, but essentially, if you are considering fertility treatment, this is where you should go. Thank you, FIH, for caring for me like family!

I had an excellent experience at the fertility center. I never imagined undergoing IVF, so I felt apprehensive about the process. Feeling comfortable and supported was therefore especially important, and that is exactly how this center made me feel. Our doctor was Dr. Frattarelli. He is direct but considerate and seems to develop protocols designed to maximize the chance of success. Sylvia is an outstanding coordinator. She always answered my questions promptly and provided tremendous support throughout. All the physician assistants were very thorough during scans, and I appreciated their knowledge and skill. The clinic also offers acupuncture, which was wonderful. I received it on the day of my embryo transfer. I highly recommend this clinic. The clinic seems busy, but I could always schedule appointments that fit my needs. That was especially important because I live on another island and must travel a long distance. The clinic is very clean and organized. I am incredibly grateful to have such an excellent fertility clinic on the island. I am thrilled to be expecting my baby and sincerely thank them for helping make this possible!

Facing infertility was frightening and emotionally overwhelming. Fortunately, my husband and I were referred to Dr. Frattatelli at the Fertility Institute of Hawaii, who helped us through this difficult journey. After several failed IUIs, we decided to try IVF. There was a great deal of information to absorb, but Dr. Frattatelli was patient and kind and explained every detail and option to us. From egg retrieval through frozen embryo transfer, he kept us comfortable throughout the process. In addition to an excellent doctor, we had a wonderful IVF coordinator. Julia answered every question and was our cheerleader from the beginning of our IVF journey. She guided us step by step through medication injections and was thrilled when movement was visible on our final ultrasound. We appreciated her so much that when my husband and I decided to have a second child, we could not wait to have her as our coordinator again. We were so happy to hear that she would become pregnant! I am nearing the end of my first trimester. Although my due date is still some time away, my husband and I are very grateful to Dr. Frattatelli, Julia, and FIH for helping us reach this point. She has the sweetest personality, and we are incredibly grateful for her. Zoe is simply the best phlebotomist I have ever met, haha! I swear I did not feel the blood draw at all! She is cheerful, lively, and wonderful. I enjoyed chatting with her, even if only for a few minutes. She makes you feel very comfortable and always makes you laugh. The front desk staff were consistently warm and friendly. They recognized me immediately every time and made check-in easy. I felt like a VIP patient, haha! Whenever we had an important test, they wished us luck. The entire team is exceptional, from the medical assistants and embryologists to everyone else. They made our experience wonderful, and every interaction made us feel like more than patients. I am truly grateful to FIH. This journey was challenging but deeply meaningful, and you hold a very special place in our hearts.

The care here was amazing!!!! From reception, nursing, and laboratory staff to every test and ultrasound, everything was impeccable!!! But the institute’s warm, understanding, dedicated, attentive staff deeply cared for my husband and me throughout. You may not realize how much you need a cycle coordinator; Claire became someone I never knew I needed. She met our needs, ensured we had everything, arranged prompt visits when needed, reassured me when afraid, and supported me when I needed time. I call Dr. Frattarelli “Superman” because he rescued me through this two-year journey. He communicated gently, cared for us, explained every detail without rushing, and ensured we understood. We had an amazing experience at this clinic. We worked with Dr. John Frattarelli and he was very kind, honest, patient and reassuring. From the very beginning, he answered all our questions, made us feel welcomed and provided us all the information regarding the process. Would highly recommend him to anyone! Additionally, we also had Claire as our coordinator, she was sweet, kind, patient, and does a great job communicating with us no matter what we needed. She consistently checked up on us, explained everything to us with a great attitude even though there are times when we asked her to explain it to us again. Our experience with the Fertility Institute of Hawaii was wonderful from start to finish. We initially just wanted to learn about our options, but from the moment we entered the clinic, we received a warm, friendly welcome and felt right at home. The entire team showed tremendous compassion, expertise, and attentive support throughout the process. They patiently answered our questions, clearly explained our options, and made sure we were fully informed and confident in our decisions. My experience with The Fertility Institute of Hawaii was nothing short of remarkable. From the very beginning, I felt genuinely cared for, supported, and guided through one of the most emotional and uncertain times in my life. Dr. Goulet was kind, decisive, and honest every step of the way. Even when the outlook felt grim, Dr. Goulet always made recommendations that were truly in my best interest. I never felt like “just another patient”—I felt heard and cared for as a person. My care coordinator, Anissa, was the friend I didn’t know I needed during such an uncertain season. She was compassionate during the hard moments and my biggest cheerleader when we finally had reason to celebrate. Her support meant more to me than words can express. If I could give advice to anyone beginning their fertility journey, it would be this: don’t give up, and trust your doctor. Sometimes in periods of uncertainty, you have to let go and trust the process. I am endlessly grateful to the entire team for helping us through ours.

After a long and emotional fertility journey, we are deeply grateful for the attentive care and support provided by Dr. Frattarelli, Julia, and the entire team. Before coming to this clinic, we underwent five intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycles, each ending in disappointment and uncertainty. Our treatment also encountered repeated setbacks because we needed genetic testing and consultation with a genetics specialist. Along the way, we often questioned our decisions and struggled to find answers and hope. Everything changed when we met Dr. Frattarelli. He patiently and thoroughly explained the importance of egg and sperm quality, the different treatment options, and realistic success rates, giving us the confidence and reassurance we desperately needed. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, he closely monitored how my body responded and adjusted my medication doses accordingly. We always felt that our treatment plan was tailored specifically to us. Special thanks to Julia, who is truly one of a kind. Her dedication to her patients is evident in everything she does. She is extremely approachable, patient, and knowledgeable. Her guidance on the injection process was clear and detailed, and she always made sure that we felt comfortable and reassured. What moved us most was that even while traveling, she proactively contacted us to ask about test results. She genuinely cared about our fertility journey and celebrated every milestone with us. Julia has a special gift for making the clinic feel like home, and her warmth and care helped us through our most anxious moments. We would also like to thank the entire clinic staff. Everyone treated us with kindness and respect. Fertility treatment can feel extremely stressful and overwhelming, but everyone we met made us feel welcome and well cared for. Another major advantage of this clinic is that consultations, ultrasounds, blood tests, and treatments are all provided in one location. This greatly simplified the process and significantly reduced the stress of coordinating care among multiple clinics. The fertility journey is filled with hope, setbacks, and countless emotions. Dr. Frattarelli, Julia, and the entire team provided not only medical care but also health education, personalized treatment, unwavering support, and hope when we needed it most. We are immensely grateful for everything they have done for us and wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone on a fertility journey. They truly made us feel like family.
