Dr. Camran Nezhat and his team are thorough, thoughtful, communicative, and professional. I initially consulted one of the best endometriosis specialists in Los Angeles, but something did not feel right, so I flew out to see Dr. Nezhat and immediately felt reassured. His team handled insurance, billing, and surgical preparation—many essential details that were omitted during my Los Angeles consultation.
At our first meeting, Dr. Nezhat identified endometriosis that no previous doctor had noted. During surgery, he ultimately excised 14 endometriosis lesions. After two miscarriages before seeing Dr. Nezhat, we are now in the second trimester with twins!
We are deeply grateful to Dr. Nezhat and his team and highly recommend them to everyone.

As a health care professional with a PhD, I recently met with Dr. Camren Nezhat expecting a thorough, informative consultation, especially after my recent endometriosis diagnosis. Despite mixed reviews, I decided to try because I urgently needed help. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start.
Upon arrival, I was asked to undress before even meeting Dr. Nezhat, which felt dehumanizing and inappropriate. When he learned I was seeking a second opinion, he appeared shocked and said, ‘I have never been anyone's second choice,’ suggesting greater concern for his ego than patient care. Despite a 7-hour drive for the appointment, the consultation was brief and uninformative.
During the ultrasound, Dr. Nezhat pointed out a cyst on my left side and wrongly implied that previous doctors had missed it. The cyst was diagnosed in 2016 and has consistently appeared on every MRI, CT, and ultrasound since. He even instructed my husband to photograph it on his phone to show my doctors, implying that they were incompetent.
The doctor confirmed that my endometriosis required surgery, an already established conclusion. When reviewing the recent MRI materials I provided, he disregarded the actual images and said he needed only the report. This approach raised serious concerns about the thoroughness of his assessment and made me feel that my concerns were dismissed. I asked this specialist for more information about my condition, but it was clear that because I did not intend to have surgery with him, he wanted us to leave quickly.
Although staff were helpful and responsive by phone and email, the in-person experience was entirely different. When I asked whether I needed to undress, the nurse walked out with a poor attitude, making the atmosphere even more uncomfortable.
Overall, the visit left me frustrated, unheard, and concerned about the quality of care. I would not recommend Dr. Camren Nezhat to anyone seeking comprehensive, thoughtful medical care.

The worst experience I have ever had with any doctor.
As a physician, I have never encountered this level of dishonesty in my field. I went to his office for a consultation, and he tried to persuade me to have an unnecessary operation, saying I could have two procedures for the price of one anesthetic. This was apparently because my procedure was very simple—only polyp removal—and not profitable enough for him. He then tried to diagnose endometriosis without any evidence, although I reported no symptoms. This is not normal behavior. He then tried to charge me more than $10,000 for an ultrasound consultation. Yes, this is not a joke; it all happened. I feel responsible for warning others. When I called the office, they said, ‘Oh, that is what we do.’ I have just learned that he has people who work for him write reviews, which makes sense. If I had known the reviews were false, I would never have seen him.

Many patients come here for a valuable second opinion or as a last resort.
Our entire family traveled from Southern California to see Dr. Nazhat and received a $10,480 bill for a 27-minute ultrasound. Yes, five figures. After researching this on Yelp—I wish I had done so sooner—I found that this happened to at least 2 other patients.
The ultrasound was billed at $8,454, although it normally costs under $300. This clinic was outside our insurance network, and we traveled a long distance in good faith to see him, but they did not appear willing to treat patients fairly. I cannot imagine what surgery at this clinic would cost.
Please take note: you have been warned.

I am so grateful I found Dr. Nezhat! He truly works miracles in endometriosis care. My husband and I struggled with fertility issues for two years. No one at the fertility clinic seemed to take my concerns about endometriosis seriously. At my initial consultation, Dr. Nezhat said that based on my symptoms alone, he was nearly certain I had the condition: miscarriage, difficulty conceiving, painful periods, bladder pain, digestive problems, and more. It is shocking that no other doctor had suggested endometriosis after all these years. He performed an ultrasound, confirmed the condition, and recommended surgery. I knew I had come to the right place. The surgery went well. I had stage IV endometriosis, and he excised all of it. It was such a relief to have a doctor finally take my concerns seriously and provide an appropriate treatment plan. He told me my chances of pregnancy were very good. I was skeptical because the fertility clinic seemed to believe IVF was my only option. Recovery after surgery was not easy, mainly because of residual gas, which was eventually relieved with activated charcoal. I was cleared to begin trying to conceive after surgery, and I am delighted to say that we are pregnant—on our first attempt after surgery! I cannot thank Dr. Nezhat enough. I believe he should be the first doctor women see when they have difficulty becoming pregnant. Fertility clinics are excellent in their own way, but they do not always look for the underlying cause.

I cannot describe how amazing Dr. Nezhat is. Before meeting him, I had given up all hope. I had stage IV endometriosis, but my previous surgery classified it as mild because a basic laparoscopy does not examine inside the organs. My condition continued to worsen, and from my symptoms and pain, I knew the endometriosis had to be in my kidney or at least my ureter. I had also experienced 3 miscarriages and an extremely painful struggle. I had to advocate strongly to be seen by Dr. Nezhat, so make your voice heard because he is the best. He was willing to examine inside my bladder and ureters. Biopsies confirmed stage IV endometriosis in my ureter, colon, and other areas. He treated me for approximately 6 hours. I remember waking up and seeing him at my bedside, telling me that I had not imagined my pain and that I was right. I recovered easily from the surgery and returned to work and exercise three weeks later. You need a surgeon who can perform excision rather than ablation, and Dr. Nezhat is unmatched. He called to check on me and was also very compassionate. I believe I can have another child someday and that I will not lose my kidney because of his meticulous work. God bless him.

After 14 years of pain and being dismissed by doctors, Dr. Nezhat validated my suffering and gave me a new chance at life. I am so glad I decided to see him. He is an amazing doctor and surgeon and is also very kind and caring. If you suspect you have endometriosis, you should definitely see him. All the staff there are wonderful as well.

Dr. Nezhat is an incredibly kind and caring doctor who performed my surgery. A few months after surgery, I became pregnant and am now the mother of a beautiful 8-month-old boy. After more than a year of severe pain, dismissal and gaslighting by doctors, hours of seminars, and my own research, I received the help I needed from Dr. Nezhat, an inventor and pioneer of modern minimally invasive and robotic surgery. He was the first doctor to tell me, “This pain is not in your head,” and he immediately earned my trust. I am not someone who complains. I delivered all my children without medication, but this pain became more persistent and harder to manage and interfered with daily life. After meeting him, I felt hopeful for the first time. I took the free Nezhat Endometriosis Risk Advisor online quiz and scored 85–90%. Dr. Nezhat confirmed that surgery was a good option because it could relieve my pain and address other health issues. I am very grateful I had surgery. Waiting longer might have caused more problems later. The pain subsided within six weeks, and I am on a healthier, happier path. If you are struggling, I strongly recommend looking into it!

Dr. Nazhat performed my hysterectomy 11 years ago. The entire procedure was handled very carefully and skillfully, and I experienced almost no discomfort during recovery. At our most vulnerable, we look to healthcare professionals for answers about why we feel this way. My road was long. I saw every specialist but received no clear answer. Many told me I only needed “self-care.” My pain worsened, but no one would help. They asked whether I was depressed, and sometimes I doubted myself. Several gynecologists only recommended birth control and sent me away. I finally found one who listened, but she planned a hysterectomy. I knew something was wrong with my organs but could not get the help I needed. Ironically, while working at an OB/GYN office, I discussed rectal endometriosis with a doctor who bluntly said, “We would have to remove part of your bowel and give you a colostomy bag, so we only offer birth control.” I was furious and knew someone could do more. I searched for endometriosis specialists and found Dr. Nezhat. His reviews amazed me, and I knew I had to see him. When that day came, after listening for two minutes he said, “This is not in your imagination; it is clearly visible.” I received my report today and still cannot understand why every specialist missed what Dr. Nezhat found. I had stage IV endometriosis with severe, extensive adhesions. They have now been repaired. Objectively, even the day after surgery, I had less pain than before. He said recovery would take a year because the damage was severe, but I already feel different. I will always be grateful to Dr. Nezhat, his excellent team, and my nurse. Considering the extent of surgery I needed, the robotic procedure caused very little trauma. I have been pain-free for a year and essentially have a new life! Dr. Nezhat is truly a godsend! Words cannot express how grateful we are to him. I have told many people about him. He is an absolute hero in this field. My husband and I struggled to conceive for years, and an IVF doctor recommended that I see Dr. Nezhat to determine whether I had endometriosis. I was diagnosed with it. After the consultation, we scheduled surgery immediately. He successfully removed all the stage 4 endometriosis and told us we should be ready in three months, although he could not guarantee anything. We tried for exactly three months and then became pregnant—and apparently I did not need IVF at all. We now have a beautiful, healthy newborn. We cannot wait to visit Dr. Nezhat and introduce him to our miracle baby. He is exceptionally professional and even more renowned than I realized. Since then, I have met many professionals who know him, and an out-of-state friend was also referred to him and recently had successful surgery. I am extremely grateful to have found Dr. Nezhat and his outstanding team. I have stage 4 endometriosis, initially discovered after I went to the emergency room with an ovarian infection. My first surgery was performed by another doctor at another hospital, but the disease was already too advanced for them to manage.
About a year later, I found Dr. Nezhat. From the beginning, he and his team demonstrated deep expertise in treating complex endometriosis. They focused on reducing inflammation, completely excising advanced growths, and prescribing appropriate medication to limit estrogen production and future growth.

Dr. Nezhat is a world-renowned endometriosis specialist and surgeon focused on preserving fertility. Three patients who had undergone endometriosis excision surgery with him recommended him to me and spoke very highly of him. I fully agree with their recommendations and am pleased to recommend him wholeheartedly. I felt I was being treated by a leading expert and that I was heard and cared for. Dr. Nezhat genuinely wants to help his patients, and he and his team go above and beyond to help patients understand how to work with insurance companies to obtain coverage.
I had countless ultrasounds during my fertility journey, and Dr. Nezhat was the first person to clearly identify endometriosis during my initial ultrasound at his office. Traveling long distances to see my previous surgeon was no longer practical for my family and me, so I chose Dr. Nezhat for my fourth surgery. I am incredibly grateful that I did!
Dr. Nezhat's office and staff are very kind, and their professionalism is exceptional. From start to finish, they handled all the arrangements, including records and insurance, even before my appointment to ensure there were no treatment delays. I knew from the beginning what to expect, and before my initial visit they ensured they had my detailed medical and surgical history. I also learned that they had already reviewed it, which I greatly appreciated! Dr. Nezhat is thoughtful and kind. He does not make you question your symptoms or leave you to do all the research yourself. In fact, they encourage you to learn and appreciate any questions or knowledge you have about this terrible and extremely disruptive disease. They also provide holistic health advice about feeling better while living with the disease, which I believe is very important, and many of their recommendations helped me greatly.
Dr. Nezhat personally performs the ultrasound, which I appreciated because he knows what to look for. He never dismissed my pain or anything I explained to him. Although I was older when I saw Dr. Nezhat, he fully understood my desire to preserve fertility because I truly wanted to try becoming pregnant again. He is kind and thoughtful and a genuine ally and advocate for women and our health. I had never felt this way with a female doctor.
I chose to have surgery with Dr. Nezhat in October 2024. The surgery was excellent. It was my fourth operation, so I knew what to expect. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. I knew exactly how much I would need to pay, and the doctor prescribed my medications in advance so I did not have to scramble to obtain them during recovery. Two days after surgery, I had a transvaginal ultrasound at the clinic to confirm that everything was normal and healing well. I was completely amazed: for the first time in my life, an ultrasound did not hurt, and only two days after surgery, I felt no pain at all!!!
I appreciate that they accept insurance, making surgery and endometriosis treatment accessible to so many women struggling with this debilitating condition. After seeing many doctors who knew nothing about it, it is wonderful to know there is hope. I am very grateful to every employee at Dr. Nezhat's office and surgery center. I am from Chico, California, where several OB/GYNs told me I had no hope of conceiving and recommended a hysterectomy. I was 25 and had no children. Dr. Nezhat saved my life. Over the past three years, I had two cystectomies and one excision surgery, but the pain returned within a month after each procedure. In fact, the second surgery resulted in another new cyst just four weeks later. The previous surgeries never truly relieved my pain. For the past two years, I endured unbearable chronic pain that did not improve even with pain medication. I had stage IV endometriosis covering my abdominal organs, with cysts larger than 10 cm. My quality of life was poor, and I urgently needed treatment. After meeting Dr. Nezhat, I knew he could free me from all this pain. His team made me feel safe and gave me great hope. I am now seven weeks post-op and feel amazing. I cannot remember the last time I did not need pain medication or live with constant pain. I wake up feeling nothing and go to sleep feeling nothing. I used to spend entire nights unable to sleep because of the pain, soaking in hot baths and crying until something finally helped me fall asleep. Then I would wake in pain and force myself through the day as a mother, wife, and employee. Now, I have not taken pain medication since two weeks after surgery. I can sleep, and I look forward to waking each morning without pain. My digestion and overall energy have improved tremendously. After silently enduring pain for more than a decade, I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis that had spread farther than I imagined and completely covered my appendix. Last November, Dr. Garza performed my first endometriosis excision surgery, but it was mishandled. After these unfortunate experiences, I urgently needed to find the best doctor. Dr. Nezhat is certainly gifted, but his extremely poor treatment of patients suggests he should retire. He is rude, harsh, and cold, making you feel like just one of many patients. Unfortunately, this was my second surgery with him. On several occasions, he showed his true nature, which was heartbreaking as a patient. Make sure someone accompanies you throughout. Do not let him belittle you. His greed repeatedly became apparent. Before surgery, he personally called and deliberately misled me, asking me to postpone surgery by a month so it could be performed at his clinic. Do not fall for it. On the phone, he tried to intimidate and manipulate me by saying Stanford's care was poor, that they did not care for patients, and that I would not receive the quality care I needed there. He also claimed their robotic surgery was inadequate, then said he felt more comfortable operating at his own hospital and could do a better job. While I was still recovering in bed immediately after surgery, he spoke to me so rudely that I nearly cried. As I cried, he became louder and more aggressive, honestly frightening me. I pray that every patient finds the courage to speak up and remembers that he is only human; his arrogance is excessive. I also pray that Dr. Nezhat learns tolerance.

However, be aware that you must ask to see him directly. Otherwise, staff may unfairly determine that you are “not a surgical candidate” within two minutes of answering the phone. Be prepared, and preferably use insurance.

Honestly, I was initially hesitant to see Dr. Nezhat because he had already been a leader in the field before I was born. I soon realized, however, that he remains among the very best specialists in the field, and for the first time in more than a decade, I am free of pain.
Over the past ten years, I saw several gynecologists and expressed concerns about endometriosis and infertility because my mother had severe endometriosis at my age. Every doctor dismissed me with similar statements: first, that if menstrual pain did not make me vomit, it was not severe; second, that laparoscopy was dangerous and could introduce bacteria; and third, that if I truly “believed” I had endometriosis, IVF was the best option.
I realized I would be neglecting my own care if I did not consult Dr. Nezhat before he retired. I am extremely glad I did. I think he sensed my hesitation and gave me ample time to consider surgery.
I underwent surgery in late November 2025 and still cannot believe I awoke feeling better than when I arrived. I had stage IV endometriosis, and I cannot understand why none of my gynecologists recommended laparoscopy. My pain, bloating, and gastrointestinal problems are now gone. I waited nearly a year to write this review so I could assess my long-term recovery and any possible recurrence.
After nearly a decade of severe pain, extreme fatigue, and IBS-like symptoms, I saw more than a dozen doctors, including several OB-GYNs, and underwent multiple scans. Even a tennis-ball-sized endometrioma was misdiagnosed as a simple cyst. Eventually, an OB-GYN mentioned that it might be endometriosis, prompting my primary care physician to refer me to Dr. Camran Nezhat.
I researched him beforehand. He is a legend in this field, and deservedly so. Before my first appointment, he had already carefully reviewed my medical history. He performed an ultrasound and explained everything in clear, easy-to-understand language. He was very kind and patiently answered all my questions.
Dr. Nezhat and his surgical team performed a long, complex operation to treat endometriosis, fibroids, polyps, adenomyosis, and stage IV endometriosis involving multiple organs. Despite the complexity, my recovery was remarkably smooth and even faster than expected. He developed a personalized postoperative recovery plan based on the severity of my condition. I am happy to say that I have been pain-free for nearly a year, and follow-up ultrasounds show no signs of recurrent endometriosis. His entire team was also excellent and highly responsive, whether scheduling appointments, relaying questions to the doctor, or helping with medical leave paperwork.

Before seeing him, I had been told I “just had cysts.” Dr. Nezhat was the first physician who truly understood what was happening in my body. He was able to identify not only how extensive my disease was, but that my ovarian cyst had already begun leaking and that the condition had spread far beyond what anyone else had recognized.

Dr. Nezhat is a surgical genius. He pioneered techniques and tools now used in advanced endometriosis surgery. I had stage IV endometriosis. He operated with extraordinary precision and care, enabling me to become pregnant.
He did more than “perform surgery.” He restored my health and life when my future felt uncertain.
He is also kind, calm, and humane. He listens, explains, and treats you as a person, not a case. In today’s fast, impersonal healthcare system, he gives medicine a good name.
He continues publishing, teaching, and advancing global understanding and treatment of endometriosis. This is vital: women’s pain has historically been dismissed, and he is changing that.

Dr. Nezhat is among the best doctors I have met. Previous doctors dismissed me, but he understood my pain and supported surgery. He found stage IV endometriosis and stage II adenomyosis, finally giving me a diagnosis and clear path. Words cannot express my gratitude to the Camran Nezhat Institute. Dr. Nezhat and his team have been lifesavers! For years, I suffered severe pain during my periods and elsewhere, went from doctor to doctor, and tried multiple forms of birth control without success, only to be told everything was ‘normal.’ I was finally referred to Dr. Nezhat. Scheduling was easy, and because I traveled from out of town, they were very flexible in accommodating me. Within five minutes of meeting me, Dr. Nezhat diagnosed endometriosis and became the first doctor to tell me, ‘Your pain is real and completely valid.’ He immediately discussed treatment options and fully respected the options I did not want to try. I am sincerely grateful to him and his team and still see him regularly for follow-up care.

After reading many positive reviews of Dr. Nezhat, I decided to see him, sincerely hoping he could help relieve my endometriosis symptoms. I expected guidance, support, and honest medical advice from a physician with his experience.
At first, I was impressed by his credentials and the books and diplomas displayed in his office. Once the consultation began, however, I felt deeply disappointed and alone. I did nearly all the talking. He never asked how I felt, which symptoms troubled me most, what concerns I had, or what I hoped to gain from the visit. There was almost no communication or empathy.
After the ultrasound, he gave me a diagnosis I already knew and simply said he ‘could perform surgery.’ What I wanted was his professional opinion and recommendation. I asked whether, based on his experience, he thought surgery would genuinely relieve my symptoms. Instead of offering guidance or discussing the options in depth, he was vague and detached. All he said was that the outcome ‘could not be guaranteed.’
I was not asking for a guarantee. I understand that no surgery can guarantee success. I wanted insight, reassurance, and sincere advice from a specialist I trusted. I wanted to know whether he personally believed my condition warranted surgery or whether he would recommend another approach. Unfortunately, I left feeling unheard and unsupported.
I understand that physicians may become desensitized after years of practice, but patients seek specialists like him at some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. I entered the office hopeful and left feeling dismissed and disappointed. From a physician with such an outstanding reputation and extensive experience, I expected better communication, a kinder manner, and more thoughtful patient care.

Dr. Nezhat was great, I am thankful that he listened to me about my concerns with pain and fertility. I was never directed by any doctors that I might have endometriosis, but I just knew that there was something there since I've had horrible period pains for most of my life, and no one else took this as seriously, I had fertility doctors pushing me to do IVF, but it just didn't feel right at the time. I took an MRI and nothing really showed but a possible blocked fallopian tube, and 4-5 cm fibroid. That was when I knew I had to see an endometriosis specialist. I am so glad I came to this clinic, Dr. Nezhat knew immediately that I had an adenomeyoma and possible endometriosis. He scheduled me in for surgery, and the whole process was so smooth. During the surgery he found out that both my fallopian tubes were blocked from edno, and I had stage 5! I also had andenomyosis. I told him before the surgery that if both tubes were blocked, then it was okay to take them out. He called my husband in the middle of the surgery to have permission to take both out, and my husband must have sounded heartbroken when he approved, because Dr Nezhat managed to save one of the fallopian tubes and took only one out anyway. Fast forward several months later, (6 months) I feel so much better, no more excruciating menstural pains. I haven't really focused on fertility lately, I have just been focusing on healing, since it's been a stressful time for me, aside from health issues. I am so happy I chose Dr. Nezhat for my surgery. He was kind throughout and the staff was just as great. I can happily say that it worked for me, and I feel the difference in my body.

For years, I prayed for answers until my condition worsened dramatically last year... My quality of life became unbearable. I was passed from one gynecologist to another, and the doctor I was seeing at the time canceled my appointment for the fourth time! Even though I have a medical background, these doctors did not listen to me or give me the answers and guidance I needed. Friends suggested finding an endometriosis specialist! I prayed and searched desperately on my own for the best doctor to treat endometriosis. Eventually, I found Dr. Kamran Nezhat. I compared him with other doctors, but based on his extensive experience, research, credentials, and knowledge... he is a pioneer and founding figure in the field of endometriosis. Honestly, I trusted him completely before I even met him. The work of his that I saw online was outstanding and comprehensive. The reviews also gave me considerable reassurance.
The appointment and insurance verification process was very smooth! I sent an email, and his staff responded quickly. The staff were amazing! Their organization and responsiveness impressed me! I soon secured an appointment with Dr. Nezhat. His office was very welcoming and filled with photographs of women and babies whose stories were similar to mine! I was deeply moved, and those photographs gave me tremendous hope! The office also displayed letters from former patients. They truly touched me and increased my trust in Dr. Nezhat. Meeting Dr. Nezhat for the first time was wonderful! He was very warm and compassionate and listened patiently to my story. He even performed an ultrasound in the office. And you know what? Dr. Nezhat is exceptionally skilled, and I could hardly wait to have surgery! My surgery was scheduled for one month after the appointment. The staff stayed in touch with me, made sure the insurance authorization was approved, informed me of my out-of-pocket costs, and scheduled my preoperative testing.
I had surgery at O'Connor Hospital, and it was very successful! Dr. Nezhat found that my endometriosis had progressed to stage IV and removed 21 lesions as well as cysts. I cried tears of joy after surgery because I had suffered from pain for years and had also been diagnosed with Crohn's disease... I had always thought the pain was caused by Crohn's disease. But it was not. It was all endometriosis! I am so grateful that I found Dr. Nezhat! I had kept praying and finally received answers! I am so glad God arranged everything. Now I can finally regain a healthy life. This week marks seven weeks since surgery! My pain has decreased by 80-90%. I feel as though I finally have my life back. Dr. Camran Nezhat is truly an extraordinary doctor. I have never met a physician who is kinder or more compassionate. He listens patiently, believes what you are feeling, and treats you with genuine care and respect.
For years, I was told that my symptoms were simply due to polycystic ovary syndrome and normal menstrual problems. I endured severe pain for more than 12 years, believing it was something every woman had to go through. When I met Dr. Nezhat, the first thing he said to me was, “You are not imagining this. You really are in pain.” Those words meant so much because, for the first time, I felt understood.
