I scheduled a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) with Liz and greatly appreciated her kind, gentle manner. Liz explained the entire procedure in a very calming way. Afterward, she explained my imaging results thoroughly and in terms I could easily understand.

I hesitated to write this review because I do not usually like leaving negative feedback, but even after two years, my experience at this clinic still makes me deeply uncomfortable. In 2024 4, I underwent a procedure here that was excruciatingly painful. Instead of receiving compassion or reassurance, I felt judged because of my appearance. As I grimaced in pain, the doctor said, “You have tattoos. You can handle it.” I understood exactly what he meant and was shocked that my tattoos were being used to dismiss my pain. Unfortunately, I experienced similar discrimination at the Wake Forest location. This experience made me question whether some healthcare professionals are truly able to provide fair, compassionate care to patients who look different from them. Seeking fertility treatment is already an emotional and vulnerable journey. The last thing patients should feel is judged by the very people they trust to help them build a family. No one should be dismissed or disregarded because of stereotypes or assumptions based on their appearance. Because of these experiences, I will never return to this clinic.

Terrible billing practices and communication. For three years, we have repeatedly asked them to cancel charges for storage we had previously terminated. We signed and mailed the forms they requested but never received a response. They continue to charge us and do not answer the phone. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this company.

I was very satisfied with my experience at CC. My favorite nurse, Marie, has always taken excellent care of me. Dr. Johnson is highly skilled and very kind; she performed two surgeries for me. I am very grateful to this team for its support.

We saw several doctors at CC, including Dr. Johnson and Dr. Schointuch, and strongly recommend looking elsewhere. We are now at another clinic and can finally ask ourselves, “IVF clinics cannot all be like this...right?” Unfortunately, our experience at CC made my wife feel more like a transaction than a patient, with almost no compassionate care. Many interactions and decisions felt profit-driven rather than patient-centered. My most important advice is to advocate for yourself. Do not assume doctors always act in your best interests or know everything. Do your research, ask questions, and trust your instincts when something feels wrong. Our first doctor never asked about our lifestyle, goals, or even how many children we hoped to have; she immediately recommended IVF. Other doctors seemed impatient when my wife asked questions or expressed anxiety, despite the emotional sensitivity of infertility treatment. Communication was poor overall. We rarely saw the same doctor or nurse consistently and often felt passed between appointments. One of the most frustrating issues was being labeled with “unexplained infertility.” Infertility often has a cause that simply has not yet been found. It is estimated that up to 50% of infertile women have endometriosis, yet after 3 failed intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycles and 3 failed in vitro fertilization (IVF) transfers, no doctor mentioned inflammation or endometriosis. After changing clinics, my wife was diagnosed with endometriosis, which was likely a major contributor to her miscarriage and implantation failures. We were also misled about PGT-A testing. My wife was 33. When we questioned the common recommendation against PGT-A for women under 35, the doctor merely replied that it would not affect our success rate and did not schedule a call. They failed to explain that the research refers to cumulative live birth rates across multiple embryo transfers, not the live birth rate per transfer. This distinction is crucial for women hoping to reduce failed transfers, medication use, emotional trauma, and costs. Aneuploid embryos have almost no chance of resulting in a healthy live birth. After the first miscarriage, we chose to test the remaining embryos and later discovered that the next embryo they had planned to transfer was also aneuploid. During that discussion, I specifically asked about cumulative live birth rates versus live birth rates per transfer, and the doctor was visibly impatient. She did not even look at me while I spoke and kept staring at my wife. We also specifically asked about the benefits and risks of testing but were never told that thawing, testing, and refreezing embryos could reduce embryo quality. This was another misleading omission that may have ruined our remaining embryos. Another painful experience occurred after my wife’s first transfer failed because there was no heartbeat. The doctor offered expectant management or medication to induce miscarriage. To proceed with another transfer sooner, she chose medication. Hours later, she was on the floor in the worst pain of her life. We were never told how severe the pain could be, and she was not prescribed pain medication. I could say much more, but these are facts we personally experienced. After multiple failed IUIs, a miscarriage, and failed IVF transfers, they conducted no meaningful investigation into the root cause. Their only proposal was another egg retrieval and transfer—no substantive change in strategy, no deeper testing, and no real effort to understand the failures. We deeply regret trusting them so completely. Even if we had ultimately had a baby through CC, I would still write this review because of how poorly we were treated throughout the process.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My husband has already written a detailed review, but I also want to share my experience. My husband and I were diagnosed with unexplained infertility at Carolina Conceptions, where we had 3 failed intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycles and 3 failed in vitro fertilization (IVF) transfers, including a missed miscarriage. Looking back, I am very angry that so many issues were overlooked and we received so little guidance. We trusted the doctors to lead us in the right direction, but many important conversations never happened. We were never properly educated about embryo testing or told about the risks of thawing and retesting embryos. After every failed cycle, we were simply moved to another treatment instead of receiving deeper investigation. At our new clinic, we finally had Receptiva testing, which found that my BCL6 marker was positive, indicating inflammation/endometriosis. We had been labeled with “unexplained infertility” for years, and it is heartbreaking to think that no deeper testing was done before I endured so much physical and emotional stress. I will carry the emotional trauma this clinic caused for a long time. Infertility is painful enough without feeling dismissed, unheard, and emotionally unsupported throughout the process. Based on our experience, I would never recommend this clinic.

This clinic is amazing!! Every visit is pleasant and relaxed. The staff and doctors are wonderful, and the atmosphere is friendly. Michelle and Lauren E. at the front desk make check-in easy and stress-free. They warmly greet every visitor with a kind smile and do their best to answer any question or meet any need. My nurse Jessica B patiently and thoroughly explained every process and answered all my questions. Finally, phlebotomist Sophia G was outstanding! She drew my blood patiently and carefully, minimized my discomfort, and clearly told me when to squeeze and release the blood collection device. I have been to places where staff barely speak to patients while working, but Sophia and everyone here are wonderful. Thank you for such excellent and efficient service.

We had a wonderful experience with Dr. Park and her team at Carolina Conceptions!

This was the second clinic we visited in the area, and its communication and scheduling were far better than elsewhere. Thanks to Dr. Meyer’s thoughtful plan for my infertility, we conceived our first and second IVF babies in December 2023 and January 2026, through one fresh and one frozen embryo transfer. He thoughtfully minimized medication and pursued pregnancy as naturally as possible, for which we are very grateful. Dr. Johnson and Dr. Park handled our transfer days and were also excellent. I would recommend this clinic to everyone!

My second home! Our first IVF attempt succeeded, and my baby was born this year. Dr. Meyer is the best, and communication was never a problem! He responded to all my questions and emails, and I never waited more than a few hours. His confidence and expertise in this field are remarkable. If I want more children in the future, this will definitely be my first-choice medical team. I had the pleasure of speaking with all the doctors, and they were all wonderful. The nurses were always helpful, available, and incredibly kind. The front desk was consistently warm, courteous, fast, and efficient. Notice that all the one-star reviews have many likes, while the high ratings have few or none. The voices of people who are disappointed, dissatisfied, and frankly even hurt deserve to be heard more widely. Please also take time to read the one-star reviews and note the recurring complaints. My wife has already written her review, but I want to add one observation from my experience. Their office has a “wall of honor” covered with footprints from babies born after successful treatment. I spent months looking at that wall and considering what it meant. I now realize it has less to do with the footprints or the happy parents who write names beside them and more to do with the image Carolina Conceptions wants to project. These are their trophies, but in retrospect, they are not much of a trophy. During my time there, I saw only one family place footprints on the wall and take a photo with their doctor. I remember it clearly because the scene was somewhat overdone and made things even harder for the anxious and frustrated people in the waiting room. We are happy to share that we successfully conceived through UNC Fertility. They were far more professional, attentive, knowledgeable, and willing to provide guidance than Carolina Conceptions.

My overall experience at Carolina Conceptions was very pleasant, but Marie, one of the nurses, made me feel much more relaxed every time she appeared. She is an exceptionally positive person and truly made a major difference in my care. Thank you, Marie!

Requiring payment by phone before the appointment felt profit-driven and uncomfortable. They also never answer the phone and seem more concerned about my wallet than me.

5 stars, without question! I could write a novel about our truly amazing experience at Carolina Conceptions. My husband and I are so grateful to all the staff, especially Dr. Johnson, for helping us through infertility. We feel incredibly lucky and blessed to have found this clinic. We began with an egg retrieval in January 2025, had our first IVF transfer in April with a positive pregnancy test, and ended December 2025 with our baby girl. We cannot thank Carolina Conceptions enough. They are truly miracle workers and are all sweet, genuine, and caring. Thank you for helping us start our family as first-time parents. Highly recommended; we hope to return for our second child someday!

Our experience at this Raleigh clinic was so disheartening that I feel I must warn others. Fertility treatments are stressful and expensive, yet this office treated our time and health with complete disregard. The Doctor & Scheduling: The level of unprofessionalism regarding appointments was staggering. The doctor completely missed two scheduled appointments without prior notice. At another appointment, the doctor arrived significantly late and did not apologize for the time we wasted waiting. Communication Breakdown: The medical coordination is a mess. We received conflicting instructions from the nurse and doctor. In a field where timing and dosage are critical, this negligence is dangerous and creates unnecessary anxiety. The Staff: The front desk staff were kind. However, the woman working in the back was curt and dismissive on several occasions. Asking a question seemed like an inconvenience to her. Bottom Line: Ultimately, this clinic felt like a "money mill." They request and process payments very quickly, but consistently fail to provide reliable care, show up for patients, or communicate clearly. If you want a clinic that cares about your journey and respects your time, look elsewhere.

Dr. Bowling and her team at Carolina Conceptions have been exceptional! My husband and I have been with them for 3 years. Although this journey is extremely difficult in every way, Dr. Bowling and her team go out of their way to talk with you and listen to all your worries and concerns. Dr. Bowling never gave up, and we will always be grateful to her. We now have our precious baby boy, who is almost 7 months old! Never give up on yourself or your team at Carolina Conceptions. My wife and I had an excellent experience at Carolina Conceptions, especially with Dr. Johnson. The entire staff were warm and friendly, and we always felt safe and comfortable. We welcomed our daughter on Thanksgiving Day!

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this fertility clinic, mainly because of poor communication and a lack of patient care. Calls went unanswered, messages were not returned promptly—or at all—and getting even a basic question answered was nearly impossible. Fertility treatment is already emotionally, physically, and financially stressful, and this level of disregard is completely unacceptable. You rarely see an actual doctor. Instead, you are rushed through with little explanation, no continuity, and no sense that anyone truly understands your case. Appointments felt hurried and impersonal, as though patients were products on an assembly line rather than people receiving genuine care. I never felt heard, supported, or informed. For a clinic dealing with such sensitive issues, I expected professionalism, clarity, and compassion. Unfortunately, this clinic provided none of these. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone who values communication and transparency or wants to be treated as a person rather than a number.

We achieved the outcome we hoped for—a healthy baby—so I want to acknowledge that positive result first. However, future patients should know that although the physicians are highly skilled, the clinic’s operations, billing, scheduling, and communication systems need major improvement. I am writing this review to help future patients navigate the process more efficiently and encourage the clinic to strengthen its administration. I have tried to remain objective rather than emotional, but I want to emphasize that I have not recommended and would not recommend this clinic. 1. Arrange a second consultation early One of my most important lessons was this: if you think you may change clinics, schedule a consultation elsewhere before completing your first IVF cycle. Other clinics may have waiting lists of several months, and if you wait until a failed cycle, switching may no longer be practical. A mid-cycle second consultation can provide: • A parallel review of your treatment plan, time to transfer care if needed, and peace of mind. 2. Insurance and timing: maximizing benefits If you have infertility coverage, timing matters. Lifetime medication maximums are often lower than procedure maximums. Ordering medication in January, before meeting your deductible, may protect pharmacy benefits and let you strategically schedule several cycles in one benefit year. Ordering in December may cause you to meet the annual deductible twice. Waiting until midyear may leave time for only one cycle before benefits reset. This is not clinic-specific advice, only a financial-planning strategy that may help others. 3. Physician style and patient interaction Some physicians here are clinically excellent but communicate very directly and provide limited statistical analysis. Some patients may find this efficient; others may find it blunt or discouraging. Despite our repeated requests to complete as much testing as possible early, testing seemed unnecessarily delayed. An invasive procedure was even recommended and completed before the result of a simple blood test improved. Although patients are assigned a primary physician, the physician on duty handles monitoring and procedures. That is acceptable, but patients should be told what to expect. 4. Remote monitoring: avoid it Remote monitoring was the most difficult part of our experience. The clinic charges $400 per cycle to coordinate outside appointments. In practice, ‘scheduled’ appointments were often only referrals, lab orders were sent in batches rather than by date, and we repeatedly had to correct scheduling gaps. Despite paying the fee, we did most of the coordination ourselves. 5. Administrative and billing recommendations Billing, estimates, and claim submission need improvement. Problems included: • Repeatedly incorrect estimates, delayed callbacks, threats to cancel cycles before errors were reviewed, denied claims due to missing documents, attempted balance billing for in-network services, and refunds delayed until patients complained. These problems were pervasive and created significant instability during fertility treatment. Recommendations for the clinic: • Audit claim submissions. • Peer-review cost estimates before issuing them. • Create an internal feedback channel independent of public review platforms. Patients interact far more with administrative staff than physicians, so this area has the greatest effect on the clinical experience. The clinic is clearly growing. Expansion increases volume, which puts pressure on weak systems. Based on two years as a patient and my professional process-improvement experience, I strongly recommend redesigning the customer journey, analyzing billing workflows, conducting random patient-experience surveys, and training front-desk staff to communicate consistently.

From the very beginning when my wife and I walked in they made sure we were comfortable. They went out of their way to help us in any way possible. The staff is absolutely amazing. Karen is my absolute favorite person! She has such an amazing personality. She is very kind but she also is very true to her job . She handles every situation as delicate as possible. My husband and I had been trying for a child for 2.5 years before we started looking for fertility help. We set up an appointment with Dr. Park and from that first meeting knew we were in good hands. Dr. Park clearly explained what type of testing would need to be done, and helped us through the least invasive options first before eventually moving on to IVF, which has successfully allowed us to be pregnant with our first child! I have never canceled an appointment so quickly. When scheduling with Lauren, they requested my bank information, which immediately concerned me. This is not a pizza order; why need banking details before meeting me? After talking with family and reading reviews, I called back to cancel. A person named Ashley laughed twice when asking why. I will ask my provider for another clinic. This place is a joke. Do not go.

In short, book the appointment.\n\nLike many people, I felt overwhelmed at my first consultation and urgently needed attentive care and a plan.\n\nDr. Park provided that and more. He is a gifted physician at the forefront of best practice, supporting his judgment with research, skill, and precision. Arriving heartbroken and doubtful yet being able to trust a doctor completely is extraordinary. I felt that trust from the consultation onward, even before becoming pregnant.\n\nAfter three consecutive miscarriages, previous doctors said it was simply “bad luck” because I had previously carried a healthy child to term. Dr. Park worked to find the cause of my secondary infertility. It was a relief not to be dismissed.\n\nI felt care and affection from the entire CC staff and was surprisingly sad to leave for routine prenatal care. It was the best end-to-end care I have ever received.\n\nThank you to Dr. Park, Ashley, Delshaw, Lauren, Jamie, Toni, Logan, and everyone else for answering countless questions and providing the care, speed, and attention I needed.

We are so grateful to everyone at Carolina Conception, especially Dr. Meyer! After a stressful, heartbreaking journey, we were welcomed warmly and optimistically. We previously had a terrible experience at Shady Grove Fertility, so Carolina Conception was a true relief. After one IUI cycle, we are now 13 weeks pregnant with our first baby. I cannot say enough good things about Carolina Conceptions (CC)! My husband and I visited two other clinics in the Triangle and had acceptable experiences, but we were never fully satisfied. Those clinics offered only virtual appointments, and we felt disconnected from the treatment plan. At the last minute, before starting IVF at another clinic, we switched to CC, and we are so glad we did! We found Dr. Park, who may be my favorite doctor. Our initial consultation was in person, and he took time to discuss our concerns carefully and offer options. He was the first doctor we met who genuinely involved us in the treatment plan instead of simply telling us what the plan would be. His explanations were also excellent. During our first IVF cycle there, doctors rotated, and we ultimately met every doctor except one. Dr. Meyer was another favorite. I recall only one doctor whose personality did not suit me, but I think that was simply a personality mismatch. The nursing staff always answered our countless questions warmly and patiently, and the front desk and financial staff were excellent. We were also fortunate to succeed and are now pregnant! We did like the care team and felt the consultation, testing, and process were thorough. We ultimately had a child successfully. However, the clinic's administration is absolutely terrible. We encountered endless problems, including poor communication, refused appointments, payment issues, and arbitrary policies. Unfortunately, our sperm is stored here, so we cannot change clinics.

I do not remember the name of the woman I just spoke with on the phone, but she was incredibly helpful. They do not accept Tricare, so I told her I was not interested, but she still gave me excellent advice and helped ease all my concerns. We need more customer service representatives like her!!

This location is amazing! I highly recommend it. My wife and I never felt uncomfortable. Everyone from the front desk to the nurses was very patient and helpful. We had Dr. Schointuch, who was wonderful! They also communicated well with us through the portal. We drove 4 1/2 hours to see them, and we would do it again! We never had any problems, and now we have a beautiful baby girl!

Carolina Conceptions is a light in the darkness of infertility. The footprints on the baby wall give you hope by showing the families they have helped, while kind and dedicated staff welcome you at every step. Although you are assigned a specific doctor, you may rotate among all the doctors, and they are all excellent. They also have a highly effective portal messaging system. We had questions about everything from billing to embryos. Using the drop-down menu routes messages efficiently to the right person, and you typically receive a prompt response within 24 hours, if not sooner. Of all the medical offices I have visited, this clinic consistently had the shortest waiting-room times. Most of the time, your scheduled appointment time is approximately when you are seen. Only about twice did I wait longer than expected, and both times someone came out to update me and apologize. Thanks to Carolina Conceptions, I now have a healthy baby girl. I will always be grateful for the time and effort they invested in helping my family and me realize our dream. It may not be the easiest path, but having a doctor's office that felt like a true partner in our fertility struggle meant we knew we were not alone and received the support we needed through every small issue. In summary, I highly recommend Carolina Conceptions.

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Carolina Conceptions! The doctors and providers we worked with were wonderful. We worked closely with Karen Onori, who was very understanding and took time to truly know us. My wife and I felt seen and heard, and we thank Karen for that. Our experience with the front desk, every nurse, and the doctors—Dr. Meaghan Bowling and Dr. Monica Schointuch—was excellent. We are very grateful to the practice for making a stressful and sometimes difficult journey such a positive experience.

We were extremely fortunate to work with Dr. Johnson and the entire Carolina Conceptions team. We began our fertility journey at another clinic and immediately felt transferring here was the right choice. The scheduling and front-desk teams were kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Every provider was capable, professional, and personable. The clinic runs like a well-oiled machine and is highly efficient, yet I never felt rushed. This is a baby farm. In other words, unless you want to use a surrogate to have a child, they will not treat you respectfully or professionally. I am disgusted by how they handled my experience. I had no problem with the staff; it was the doctors, or at least those I encountered. Absolutely terrible.
