The surgery, including anesthesia, went very smoothly, with no postoperative pain or adverse reactions. Importantly, I could communicate with Dr. Josephson by text after surgery. My recovery was better than expected, and less than three weeks after surgery I was able to mountain bike and ski. I am very glad I chose Dr. Josephson and Cedars Sinai for this RP procedure.

Dr. Bui is a rock star among prostate surgeons and is at the top of his field. When I was diagnosed at age 71 with Gleason 8, my wife and I interviewed several surgeons and chose Dr. Bui, even though he was out of network, because he had performed so many of these procedures with an extremely high success rate. Dr. Bui provided an exceptional level of care and communication. He spared my nerves, prevented erectile problems, and treated my extremely enlarged prostate. Recovery was relatively easy. Eight months later, my PSA is undetectable, I have no sexual problems, and the occasional minor incontinence has now resolved. I am extremely pleased with the treatment and care Dr. Bui provided and highly recommend him.

Scheduling was difficult, and the staff were rude. The doctor left for more than 20 minutes during a painful procedure to see another patient. He returned with a fake smile and denied the reason for the long delay. He was insincere and cold. I refused to schedule any other appointments. This is a very unpleasant place.

The care of the patient is wonderful, mama hadn’t been in for almost 2 years but Dr was very pleasant and treated her nicely, the office staff however, there’s a matter of professionalism that lacks. Not all of course but unfortunately as the old saying goes “righteous suffer for the sins of the wicked” and as they all work together! Bad habits, actions and attitudes are easily followed. Under tremendous stress and unable to secure an appointment with a top urologist, we contacted Dr. Houman at Tower Urology, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, on another physician’s recommendation. We were flying back from San Francisco and the clinic was fully booked, but the staff understood the urgency and gave us the first cancellation that afternoon. Dr. Houman saw me immediately, quickly understood the problem, took care of it personally, and had the situation completely under control within ten minutes. He prescribed medication, explained exactly what to do and watch for over the next few days, and scheduled a follow-up a few days later. Within a week, the problem was fully resolved and would no longer trouble me. Dr. Houman is approachable, kind, and consistently encouraging. His entire staff follows his example—an excellent medical team.

I came to Dr. Houman after years of dealing with a painful varicocele, ongoing testicular pain, and growing concerns about fertility. Other doctors brushed it off, but Dr. Houman took the time to truly listen and explain how varicoceles can cause pain and impact sperm quality and hormones. His depth of expertise in microsurgical varicocele repair and testicular pain treatment is obvious. He was thorough, honest, and never pushed unnecessary treatment. The care felt very precise and highly specialized. Since treatment, my testicular pain has significantly improved and my fertility testing showed significant improvement! Just as important, I finally felt confident and supported throughout the process. The receptionist was unprofessional. I called to schedule an appointment and was transferred to another receptionist's voicemail saying she was out of town. I called back and explained that she had transferred me to someone who was away. She became angry and said, “I know what I'm doing.” There was no explanation or assistance. I do not know why she was angry or why she reacted that way. I was simply trying to reach someone to schedule an appointment. I am sure the doctor is excellent, but the receptionist was rude and immature.

I had suffered from testicular pain for three and a half years, and this experience has meant so much to me. Activities such as hiking, weightlifting, and sexual stimulation made the pain worse. When my husband developed prostate problems that can devastate older men, he was referred to Dr. Houman. Dr. Houman resolved his difficulty urinating and, I believe, saved him from a future of permanent catheterization.
