Formação e treinamento

Dr. Littman formou-se na Georgetown University School of Medicine em 1977. Após um estágio de um ano em Medicina Interna e Cirurgia Geral, iniciou uma residência de três anos em Obstetrícia e Ginecologia, tudo no Programa de Medicina da Brown University. Em 1983, Dr. Littman concluiu uma especialização de dois anos em Endocrinologia Reprodutiva no National Institutes of Health. De 1983 a 1987, integrou em período integral o corpo docente da George Washington University School of Medicine. Desde 1987, mantém consultório particular em Rockville, Maryland, enquanto continua como professor clínico de Obstetrícia e Ginecologia na George Washington University.

Certificações, prêmios e publicações

Dr. Littman é certificado pelo conselho em Obstetrícia e Ginecologia e em Endocrinologia Reprodutiva. Atualmente, aparece como “Top Doctor in Infertility” na Washingtonian Magazine e no Washington Consumer Checkbook, e como “Top Reproductive Endocrinologist” na região de Baltimore/Washington pelo U.S. News & World Reports/Castle Connolly. Também foi reconhecido como um dos “America’s Top Obstetricians & Gynecologists” pelo Consumers’ Research Council of America e recebeu o prêmio Dr. Henry and Page Laughlin Distinguished Faculty Member Award da MedChi, a sociedade médica estadual de Maryland.

Além de um capítulo de livro sobre endometriose, Dr. Littman publicou vários estudos de pesquisa premiados sobre o uso de medicamentos para fertilidade. Participou de comitês que supervisionam pesquisas patrocinadas pelo NIH e revisa artigos para publicação na Fertility and Sterility, revista médica da American Society of Reproductive Medicine, e em Obstetrics and Gynecology, revista médica do American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Littman é membro do American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology e da American Society for Reproductive Medicine e da Society for Reproductive Endocrinology. Foi presidente da Montgomery County Medical Society e atualmente integra o Conselho Executivo da Montgomery County Medical Society.

Dr. Littman tem privilégios para internação no Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. A fertilização in vitro (IVF) é realizada em colaboração com o laboratório de embriologia da George Washington University.

Dr. Littman is very quiet, but he is excellent at what he does. He helped my wife and me conceive, and we are now happily awaiting the birth of our first child this summer. Although Dr. Littman is very quiet, he truly knows his field and clearly explained exactly what would happen and how we could achieve the outcome we wanted. I have already recommended him to friends who are now where we were in November.

He is one of the best OB/GYNs. I have been with him for about 20 years. He is very knowledgeable, addresses every concern, and even asks about your overall health. He spends time with his patients. I could not ask for more. I will certainly miss him when he retires. May God bless him and his family.

I consulted Dr. Littman because I was having difficulty becoming pregnant. Dr. Littman completed all the necessary steps. Near the end of my visit, I asked whether there was a natural approach I could try first, such as diet or herbs, and he simply laughed and said, "If only it were that easy." On my drive home, I remembered hearing about an acupuncturist who specialized in fertility. I made an appointment, saw her twice more, and was pregnant six weeks later. Nine months later, I delivered a healthy baby. So my response to Dr. Littman is, "Yes, apparently it can be that easy." He is clearly not a doctor who knows all the options or is willing to share all the genuine options with you. I can only assume now that he is in business to make money and does not put patients first.

Dr. Littman performed a myomectomy on me 22 years ago, and one year later I delivered a healthy baby girl. (Then another one a year and a half later.) He knows what he is doing!
