Dr. Amanda Schwartz, United States
Dr. Amanda Schwartz is a distinguished specialist in reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI). A Chicago-area native, she graduated from Northwestern University and earned her medical degree with honors from Rush Medical College. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Duke University in North Carolina and her reproductive endocrinology and infertility fellowship at the University of Michigan. She joined the Reproductive Medicine Institute in 2023 and is delighted to be home helping patients achieve their family-building goals. Dr. Schwartz is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Society for Reproductive Investigation, and the Endocrine Society.
Dr. Schwartz provides comprehensive reproductive endocrinology and infertility care. Her research focuses include LGBTQ+ family building, elective oocyte cryopreservation, diminished ovarian reserve, disparities in access to fertility care, and individuals with previous unsuccessful fertility treatment. She has published peer-reviewed manuscripts in leading journals, including American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Fertility and Sterility, and Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her award-winning fellowship thesis examined the effects of gender-affirming hormones on reproductive potential, and she has presented at national meetings including those of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Endocrine Society, and the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society.
Dr. Schwartz helps patients make informed decisions about their fertility options. She provides unbiased, open care that affirms patients’ reproductive rights and partners with them to achieve their reproductive goals.
Born and raised in the Chicago area, Dr. Schwartz had the opportunity to travel across the country for graduate training. She is pleased to return home and join the Reproductive Medicine Institute to help patients build their families. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, playing golf and tennis, trying new restaurants, and cheering for the Chicago Cubs.
