Dr. Alice Shapiro, United States
Dr. Alice Shapiro is a reproductive endocrinologist and fertility specialist who believes in patient-centered care, placing each patient’s needs above all else.
“Taking the time to truly listen to and understand my patients is essential to building trust and connection,” she says. “Fertility treatment is often challenging, and every patient’s journey is unique. In addition to providing the best possible medical care, it is very important to me that patients feel comfortable, heard, and supported throughout the process—and that I am with them every step of the way.”
Dr. Shapiro sees her role as partnering with patients to create the family they want on their own terms. “I enjoy working closely with my patients to achieve their individual goals, whether they are building a family, preserving their fertility, or simply planning for the future,” she says.
Dr. Shapiro’s dedication to patients, together with more than a decade of training and clinical practice, guides every decision she makes. For her, putting patients first meant finding a medical practice aligned with her values, and she chose RMA for its focus on research and patient care.
“Working in an organization that prioritizes patients is very important to me. Fertility treatment is already challenging, and RMA does everything possible to make the process as simple and streamlined as possible,” she says. “There is also a great deal of science behind the art of helping patients achieve their reproductive goals, and RMA is a leader in research in our field. I am pleased to offer my patients high-quality, individualized treatment plans at RMA.”
Dr. Shapiro earned an undergraduate degree in chemistry and biochemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara (USCB); attended Tel Aviv University’s Sackler School of Medicine; completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School; and completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and has been invited to speak and present her research throughout the United States. Dr. Shapiro is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG).
