Dr Alice Shapiro, États-Unis

Unmatched concierge service. Thank you, Dr. Morin and the entire RMA team. We had a wonderful experience, and every visit was pleasant. Dr. Morin was candid, knowledgeable, and highly ethical. Our first IVF cycle produced amazing results.

After a long, emotional attempt to conceive—with much heartbreak and disappointment at Stanford—I switched to RMA. From the moment I entered, the staff and Dr. Morin made me feel genuinely welcome and supported. Their kindness, attention, and professionalism made an enormous difference during a vulnerable time. Although my time at RMA was brief, I was very fortunate: under their care, I became a mother. That gift means everything. I will always be grateful to Dr. Morin and the entire RMA team for guiding me through this chapter with compassion and hope. Thank you for being part of my miracle.

I am currently undergoing IVF at RMA and cannot express enough gratitude for the care and support I receive. My primary physician is Dr. Kort in San Francisco, who is excellent. I appreciate that RMA allows weekday monitoring at Danville, closer to home. This flexibility makes the process easier and more convenient. From my first visit, the Danville receptionist was always welcoming—I need to learn her name because she is wonderful! The nurses and doctors there are kind, professional, and compassionate. Special thanks to my assigned nurse, Carmela, who has provided comfort and reassurance throughout. IVF is emotional and challenging, and feeling truly seen, heard, and cared for makes an enormous difference. Because doctors rotate for monitoring, I also saw Dr. Morin and Dr. Shapiro there, and both were excellent. From laboratory work to ultrasounds, the staff clearly care about patients, and I value that attentiveness. If you are considering RMA, I highly recommend them. The journey is not easy, but a compassionate and knowledgeable team makes all the difference. Thank you to everyone at RMA Danville for making the experience as positive as possible.

RMA's team and system are excellent and seamless. My primary RE is Dr. Morin, and he is the best! At our first consultation, he sat with me after already reviewing my history and recommended a plan we could implement immediately. He cared throughout, was approachable, and highly responsive. Their app is excellent. My experiences with some other clinicians varied, but overall RMA is the best fertility clinic I have worked with, and I have used several. I highly recommend Dr. Morin!

I highly recommend Dr. Morin and the entire RMA team. From the beginning, he was kind, caring, and compassionate. I most appreciated how he balanced warmth with a sound, evidence-based approach. He always offered honest, thoughtful advice and explained the reasons for each decision, so I felt informed and confident in my care. The RMA team was equally excellent. Communication through Spruce was seamless, and I always received prompt, clear answers. Everyone was professional, friendly, and committed to making the process smooth. I have completed two retrievals with Dr. Morin and felt confident in his expertise and my care each time. I am very grateful for everything the team has done and recommend Dr. Morin and RMA to anyone considering IVF.

I have been considering writing this review for some time, but ultimately decided it was important for others who may face a similar situation. A friend recommended RMA, and after reading every positive review and doing some research ourselves, we saved money for an initial appointment. Unfortunately, RMA did not accept our insurance, so we called in advance to confirm the out-of-pocket cost and which services were included. During the visit, the entire team was very kind and welcoming, which we appreciated. However, friendly staff alone are not enough in this field. Our concerns stemmed mainly from two issues. First, they were unable to draw blood at our initial visit. This was a major warning sign because blood draws are an essential and repeated part of fertility treatment. Second, we encountered unexpected hidden fees. We were told that blood would be drawn at the clinic, but not that it would be sent to a third party, resulting in a substantial additional charge. After trying on our own for two years, we invested significant time and hope in finding the right clinic to guide us through this emotional, sensitive, and expensive journey. Instead, we ultimately felt overwhelmed and did not receive the clear answers we expected. The experience may be different for patients whose insurance is accepted, but if you are paying out of pocket and seeking a more transparent and supportive fertility clinic, I recommend exploring other options.

RMA played a vital role in our long fertility journey. Although the journey lasted many years, RMA stood by us throughout. They supported us through setbacks, were always the first to share our joy when things went well, and stayed in close communication so we always knew the next steps. They became like family! They have now helped us fulfill our dream of building a family, and we sincerely thank the entire team, especially the Danville team and Dr. Motin.

Avoid this clinic at all costs!!! Endless refund nightmares. Since my August 2024 visit, this clinic has been a nightmare, and I am posting to warn others. I paid out of pocket rather than billing insurance. The clinic owed me a difference of over $100, but nearly a year later I am still pursuing the refund. Billing and finance are in another state and nearly impossible to reach; I am in California. After many calls and follow-ups, they blamed my insurer, UHC. I called both the clinic and UHC repeatedly between September and December 2024. Still no refund. I contacted the clinic again in January 2025. Months later, I received a new bill for over $200 without explanation or notice—another charge after going in circles. Is this legal five months after service? What provider treats patients this way—overcharging to avoid a refund, delaying it, evading responsibility, then adding charges without explanation? If you are considering this clinic, do not go. Save yourself stress, time, and financial trouble.

I wanted to rate RMA 4.5, but after two cycles, the second experience was poor. Perhaps they were too busy, but I felt neglected 😅 On my scheduled first medication day, my nurse forgot to request the medication, so I drove to the pharmacy before closing instead of receiving the usual delivery. She forgot many other things during the cycle; when I was flying to another state, they were supposed to call a clinic there for monitoring but called one in a different state 😅. I never met my doctor in person. Retrieval and freezing can be significant, and the assigned doctor could reassure patients and ensure things go smoothly. All communication was through chat, which felt impersonal. They retrieved fewer than half as many eggs as in my first cycle, so I cannot call it successful and was very disappointed. The team did not seem thoughtful about my second cycle; it felt as though we proceeded merely because it was convenient. I understand cycles and bodies vary, but they could have cared for me better. I was very stressed throughout.

I was an RMA patient last fall and had a wonderful experience. The clinic was organized, punctual, and used a messaging platform for seamless communication. I had already scheduled a consultation elsewhere and am glad I changed, because RMA was a major improvement. More importantly, everyone was professional and kind. My nurse Laura was approachable and an excellent source of support. Dr. Noel was also outstanding—talented, personable, warm, reassuring, with a lovely bedside manner and genuine commitment to patient outcomes. I highly recommend this location. :) Thank you, RMA, for making a potentially intimidating experience easy and pleasant. 🙏💕

I am currently completing an IVF cycle with Dr. Kort and highly recommend him. From the beginning, he was kind, caring, attentive, and knowledgeable. The process can be overwhelming, but his thorough communication and compassionate approach made it manageable. I especially appreciate how approachable he and his team are. I can always ask questions through Spruce and receive quick responses. Whether from Dr. Kort or the nursing team, support is excellent and replies prompt and thoughtful. Most importantly, I never felt like just another patient or number. IVF is emotional and challenging, and a doctor who truly cares makes all the difference. Dr. Kort and his team made me feel seen, heard, and supported at every step. I am very grateful I chose RMA and cannot imagine this IVF journey without Dr. Kort. If you want a fertility specialist with expertise and genuine compassion, I highly recommend him!

Everyone was friendly, and my doctor, Dr. Shapiro, was wonderful. My only complaint is that there is no parking, so I had to use a paid garage and then walk five minutes after driving for five hours. Perhaps that is normal in San Francisco, but the lack of parking is very inconvenient.

I waited two years to post this review so I could gather more information and ensure my assessment was fair. I completed a 23-week IVF cycle with RMA. From 15 mature eggs, I had no healthy embryos. Incredibly, they told me one embryo dissolved during thawing. :) Three months later, I completed two cycles with Spring and now have 6 healthy embryos. My diet and sleep schedule did not change, and I took no supplements during any of the three cycles. Two stars for the nurses because everyone was kind. But if outcomes matter to you, stay away.

Working with the entire RMA team was a pleasure. They truly are a bright light in a struggling healthcare system. Kaiser told us it would take six months just to enter their fertility clinic, while RMA scheduled us immediately. RMA’s physicians are among the most caring and compassionate you will find. Dr. Daniel Kaiser and Dr. Scott Morin have excellent bedside manners and always listened patiently to every question, fear, and concern. They clearly explained proposed treatment plans, giving intended parents a clear path forward through this emotionally challenging journey. The nurses also deserve special recognition. They were exceptionally attentive, caring, and responsive. Whether we had a simple question or an anxious moment, they always went above and beyond to make us feel supported. The entire RMA team was also available around the clock through the Spruce app, providing reassurance and answers whenever needed. After working with RMA for more than four years, we were overjoyed to welcome our first child. Dr. Kaiser is meticulous, and every recommendation is carefully considered. With RMA’s support, my wife and I successfully navigated egg freezing, IVF, and surrogacy. Dr. Kaiser set extremely high standards in matching us with the best surrogate, giving us confidence in the best possible outcome. We are deeply grateful that RMA accompanied us throughout the journey and highly recommend them to anyone pursuing this path.

Absolutely terrible service. You cannot reach anyone. You are either left on hold or forced to leave a message. Completely awful and unacceptable. It caused my wife tremendous stress. Communication was terrible, with none of the patient advocacy RSC provided. They could not even be bothered to prescribe Valium in advance for the transfer procedure, then mishandled it when asked. You cannot reach anyone through their pretentious, useless app or by phone or voicemail because they cannot be bothered to answer. Do not come here. No one should. The doctors say the right things, but the quality of the procedures and service is absolutely inadequate.
25/10/2025
Their communication with patients and clinics when coordinating treatment is very poor. They often fail to send lab results, images, and other records automatically as they should, so patients have to follow up themselves. Sometimes the records still do not arrive even when they say they sent them. It is extremely frustrating.

We recently froze embryos at RMA Northern California with Dr. Noel. We retrieved 30 eggs, 26 were mature, 24 fertilized, and ultimately produced 7 mature embryos. Six met PGT-A criteria, and 6 embryos were frozen. Pros: - We are very happy with the results! I am 29 and had 30 follicles at my initial assessment, so the number of eggs and embryos was generally what I expected. - We were able to choose a doctor and schedule an initial fertility consultation quickly. Dr. Noel was excellent during the consultation, which lasted nearly an hour, and she was very attentive and thorough. - I liked being able to view the follicle-size distribution in the Artemis app after every ultrasound. - It was also great to receive regular blood test results, most within 2-3 hours, and nurse feedback through the Artemis and Spruce apps. - The egg retrieval was smooth and pleasant. - All our interactions with RMA staff were positive, including my favorite ultrasound technician, who performed most of my scans. - Collecting medication from Alto Pharmacy was convenient and easy, with free same-day delivery. - I was relieved that I only needed to stop running for two weeks to freeze my eggs. RMA’s injection instructions were also clear and helpful. Cons: - Financial approval took several days, which was frustrating because it delayed my cycle and extended the time I had to take progesterone pills and avoid certain things before the cycle, including alcohol, sex, cold medicine, ibuprofen, sushi, and more. - Some aspects between the initial consultation and the final decision to freeze eggs required guesswork or were unclear. I had to research online and learned that egg freezing commonly starts on the first day of the menstrual cycle. Because my cycles are irregular and I had many travel plans, I was unsure whether I could proceed. It appeared that taking progesterone when menstruation began could delay the start of the egg-freezing cycle, which is ultimately what we did while awaiting financial approval. However, this was not explained clearly, leaving me uncertain about whether I could proceed. My irregular cycles and busy travel schedule made this especially frustrating. At one point, I asked, “Can I freeze my eggs if my period is delayed by one week?” They replied, “Of course, we’ll schedule you!” I thought, “How can I guarantee my period will be exactly one week late???” Then they stopped responding. In the end, I was glad I replied promptly when my period was exactly one week late. They prescribed progesterone that day, and I began IVF injections 8 days later. —The doctor could have communicated more throughout the process. I did not see Dr. Noel again after the first ultrasound. However, one night when I felt dizzy during an injection, I messaged her through Spruce and she responded, even though it was already late at night. Because I received daily messages from the nurses on Spruce, I do not feel this negatively affected my experience.

I do not recommend this clinic if you are self-paying. I was incorrectly charged, the front desk refused to update my visit receipt, and the billing and administrative staff were extremely rude. Although the medical care seemed excellent and I liked my doctor, I can no longer trust this clinic because of the terrible billing and administrative experience. Details: They offered a $250 telemedicine consultation for my initial visit. I completed it and gave my doctor a detailed medical history. I then went to the clinic and completed diagnostic testing. After the visit, another $450 “new patient consultation fee” was added to my receipt. I told the staff I had not received this consultation because I had already completed it online, but they said the $450 charge was “non-negotiable” and “applies to all first-time clinic patients.” My diagnostic testing receipt also listed three items I had declined during the visit. Even while I was still in the exam room and they could have confirmed this with the nurse, the staff refused to update the receipt. When I asked about the bill, I found the staff arrogant and hostile. The experience was deeply upsetting, and I left in tears.

Although I ultimately did not receive treatment at RMA, I have nothing but praise for the RMA team and Dr. Noel. I was recently diagnosed with cancer and advised to consult a fertility specialist before starting chemotherapy. I called several clinics on a Saturday to get an appointment as quickly as possible. RMA answered and scheduled me within three days. Before the appointment, Dr. Noel called and recommended UCSF based on my circumstances. Within hours, she contacted several doctors and arranged for me to see one the next day. Even though I did not become her patient, she stayed in touch and kept me informed throughout the process. I was extremely pleased with the experience.

Dr. Noel sets a high standard. Before joining RMA, I went to another clinic, and the difference was night and day. At RMA, Dr. Noel and his colleagues closely monitor hormone levels, checking daily or as needed. The previous clinic felt more like an IUI/IVF assembly line and never checked my hormone levels, even when I raised issues that I believed could affect fertility. At RMA, they took my concerns seriously, tested me, confirmed them, and resolved the issue within a week or two of my initial consultation. I feel very fortunate to work with this team and Dr. Noel!

Thank you to Dr. McQueen and the entire RMA staff for their support and for helping me complete IVF successfully. They are amazing!
14/04/2026
I sincerely hope RMA SF improves (RMA Paloalto is much better organized). If possible, I recommend choosing Paloalto. Facility hygiene: Cotton swabs were scattered on the floor in the blood-draw area. This creates a serious cross-contamination risk and threatens medical safety. Restroom cleanliness: The restroom was extremely dirty and clearly poorly maintained. Nursing care: I found the clinical nursing care insufficiently attentive. My assigned nurse seemed distracted and dismissive. Clinical accuracy: Most concerning, the calculations provided by the nurse contained major errors. The discrepancies were large enough to raise serious concerns about their accuracy!
12/04/2026
They are somewhat unreliable and missed a test, so I had to drive back. I did not find out until I got home and asked them on Spruce. Be sure to confirm your appointment plan with them rather than relying entirely on their scheduling. When I returned for the test, the nurse performing it told me I should have asked her... Well, if I had known another test was needed, of course I would have asked. It was very unprofessional, and I would never use that tone with someone who had gone through so much trouble.
09/04/2026
The scheduling team is a complete mess. I will update this review if they resolve their issues.

I completed three egg-freezing cycles at RMA, and I strongly recommend that anyone considering egg freezing choose Spring instead of RMA. My insurance did not cover Spring. One important thing to know is that at RMA, you are only guaranteed to see your designated physician at the initial appointment. The physician who performs your egg retrieval is simply whoever is on duty that day. During my three egg-freezing cycles, my designated physician performed only one of my procedures. My third egg-freezing cycle was the most concerning. The number of eggs retrieved was only about 20% of the number from each of my first two cycles. The physician who performed the procedure said he was surprised that my ovarian stimulation medication had not been adjusted and that my eggs were not mature enough for retrieval. I had raised this concern beforehand—my ultrasound physician said I might need an additional day of injections—but the adjustment was never made. The experience that day was also terrible. A nurse named Rachel rushed me to recover before I was ready. She seemed impatient and lacked empathy, in sharp contrast to the other nursing staff, who were excellent throughout. The procedure itself was more painful than my previous ones because the physician made repeated attempts to retrieve eggs, but they were all immature. I remained dizzy on the way home and even lost consciousness at one point. During my second cycle, I developed a cyst, but I received conflicting information at different appointments—some providers said it was a cyst, while others said it was not. This lack of consistency between visits made it difficult to feel confident about my care. I tried four times to share my concerns with the clinic. I was told that the office manager, Ingrid, would call me back, but she never did. I eventually reached someone through my physician's financial assistant, who helped escalate the issue. However, when my physician called, I did not feel it was appropriate to raise the matter directly with the person responsible for my medical care. There was no proper feedback process. For such a personal, physically and emotionally demanding experience, the care was extremely disappointing. If I had not needed to use my insurance, I would never have chosen RMA.
14/06/2026
The one star is for Dana McQueen. This clinic forgot to order one of the medications in my treatment protocol, yet today they told me I needed to begin the protocol immediately using the medication they had never ordered. I called their emergency line, sent countless messages, and contacted the pharmacy for help. RMA took an hour and a half to respond—what kind of emergency line is that? Even worse, they had previously made it extremely difficult to transfer my embryos to another storage facility. The process took more than two months because RMA repeatedly delayed signatures and authorizations. My medication order was also delayed because they could not obtain confirmation from the physician for two weeks. Yet my nurse expected me to keep providing pharmacy numbers and other information to fix the problem instead of handling it responsibly. Stay away from this terrible clinic! I know RMA will respond with its standard “we cannot discuss this” template. I simply want others to know what they may encounter here.
09/06/2026
The worst experience I have had yet. The staff need basic training, and the nursing team has no idea what is happening. I constantly have to conduct extra research and do parts of other people's jobs at this clinic to get RMA SF to do anything for me, all while paying thousands and thousands of dollars. Their ignorance keeps delaying our treatment. Despicable and incompetent.
03/06/2026
We had an amazing experience with RMA and Dr. Noel. I wish we could stay with them throughout our entire journey. I loved the all-female staff, the communication, and the appointment availability. They made a difficult process and situation as easy as possible. Thank you again to Dr. Noel and the team—we will miss you!

I had a hysteroscopy at RMA today, and I sincerely want to express my gratitude to Dr. Kort and the entire medical team. Dr. Kort was very attentive, kind, and professional. He came into my room several times, patiently answered every question, and made me feel comfortable and reassured throughout the process. All the nurses and staff were also wonderful—welcoming, patient, attentive, and considerate. Everyone treated me with genuine kindness and compassion, making an otherwise stressful day much easier. I am very grateful for the attentive care I received at RMA and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a medical team that truly cares about its patients.
