Dr. Jonathan Kort is a recognized expert in reproductive endocrinology and the author of numerous medical publications and textbook chapters on infertility.
Dr. Kort completed his reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) fellowship at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, where he conducted advanced research on noninvasive measurements of oocytes to predict developmental potential, as well as genetic screening. At Stanford, he also trained in embryology and earned certification as a technical supervisor in embryology and andrology. He completed his OB/GYN residency at Stanford Hospital, conducting original research on egg freezing, the effects of weight loss on fertility treatment, and ovarian reserve. Dr. Kort earned his medical degree from Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Kort’s clinical interests include diminished ovarian reserve, hypothalamic amenorrhea, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), reproductive surgery, and gamete/embryo selection. He has a particular interest in patients with a history of poor embryo development during IVF. He serves on the editorial board of Fertility and Sterility, has published textbook chapters on gamete and embryo selection, and received a 2017 grant from the Stanford Child Health Research Institute to help develop new methods of embryo selection using preimplantation genetic screening.
Dr. Kort followed his father into reproductive medicine and credits him with shaping his bedside manner. “My philosophy is to treat patients like family and ensure that no question goes unanswered and no concern remains unresolved.”
