Doctor Introduction

Dr. Kaitlyn Wald, United States

Dr. Kaitlyn Wald is committed to building trusting, collaborative relationships with patients. Her approach centers on compassionate education that empowers patients to make informed choices about their treatment plans. Dr. Wald works closely with patients to develop personalized care strategies based on their unique needs. She is honored to support couples during such a meaningful and transformative time in their lives. Deeply empathetic to the stress and uncertainty infertility can bring, she guides patients through the physical and emotional challenges of the journey while working toward the best possible outcome.

Dr. Wald began her academic career at Syracuse University, graduating with honors in biology. A Seattle-area native, she returned home to work in a medical genetics laboratory before earning her medical degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Washington, followed by a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of California, San Francisco.

"I am a proud Seattle native who grew up on the Sammamish Plateau. I was even born at the University of Washington Medical Center, where I later returned to complete my medical training.

Dr. Wald's clinical and research interests include helping couples affected by inherited conditions that require preimplantation genetic diagnosis, studying the genetics of ovarian aging, and understanding how endometriosis affects fertility. She is particularly passionate about helping women with cancer preserve their fertility so they have options for conception after treatment. During her fellowship, she focused on fertility preservation for cancer patients and authored several publications on optimal strategies for this unique population.

Dr. Wald sees patients at the Everett location. Outside work, she enjoys spending time with family, distance running, skiing, attending local sporting events, and exploring the Pacific Northwest's natural beauty.

As another reviewer said, Seattle Reproductive Medicine's new pricing is outrageous and possibly unethical. Patients without fertility coverage must pay entirely out of pocket, and SRM appears to exploit that vulnerability. I was originally quoted $175 for a mid-cycle ultrasound in January 2025. By April 2025, the price had risen to $650, regardless of how many ultrasounds were performed. The fee also includes bloodwork that no previous provider required. To ensure proper timing and improve the chance of success, I insisted on a second ultrasound. I expected two ultrasounds to cost $350; now the charge is $650. This price gouging adds unnecessary financial and emotional strain to an already difficult process. I contacted three other clinics today and plan to transfer, even if it means commuting to Kirkland, Seattle, or Bellingham. Anything is better than continuing treatment here. Beyond the inflated costs, billing is disorganized and the clinic increasingly feels like a commercial assembly line rather than a place offering compassionate, individualized care. When I raised my concerns, the financial manager said she would “take the issue back to corporate,” which told me all I needed to know. The company does not care about my body or treatment outcome. Worse, the medical team gives patients little guidance during critical parts of the process. During my first IUI cycle, I tried to confirm the correct timing and method for administering Ovidrel, but the doctor seemed rushed and did not leave me feeling informed or reassured. This experience has made an already challenging treatment much more stressful. I hope SRM reconsiders how it treats and supports people entrusting it with such an important part of their lives.

Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) Staff: 5 stars; Dr. Ward: 1 star The clinic staff are genuinely excellent—professional, kind, and supportive at every step. My experience with Dr. Ward, however, was very disappointing. She often seemed more focused on selling expensive treatments such as IVF and genetic testing than on offering a thoughtful, individualized approach. This was especially concerning because my partner and I are both in our early 30s with no family history of genetic disorders. Dr. Ward repeatedly insisted that infertility must be due to my age and egg quality, citing the oversimplified, outdated idea that “women are born with all their eggs” while “men make new sperm every 90 days.” This narrow view ignores modern research showing that male fertility also declines with age and contributes substantially to infertility. I left appointments feeling dismissed and angry rather than heard or supported. To every woman struggling: this is not your fault. You deserve a compassionate doctor who listens without blame and supports you as a whole person, not merely as a set of laboratory results. Even if the outcome is not what you hoped for, your life remains equally meaningful. Your worth does not depend on your ability to conceive. If you are considering this clinic, know that the support staff are outstanding, but I strongly recommend seeking a second opinion from a doctor who truly respects and empowers you.

I received good care at this clinic for years until my miscarriage was handled so badly that I nearly died. I later gave a new doctor here a chance and greatly appreciated the care from her and my nurse. Today I learned that pricing is increasing from $175 per TIC cycle to $650, for only an ultrasound and, if you are pregnant, bloodwork. I have completed 6 unsuccessful TIC cycles and will now be forced to leave because the clinic was acquired and sharply raised its prices, making the care I need even less affordable. Although some good people work here, I recommend spending your money elsewhere.

They take a long time to respond. Procedures such as IUI and IVF are time-sensitive, but they do not accommodate urgent requests or questions. I do not think I am asking too much of the care team.

No one followed up after my appointment. After I sent a second message, the earliest follow-up offered was 2 months later and only by telehealth. Whatever excuse the company gives in its response, those are the facts.

I had one successful intrauterine insemination (IUI) at this clinic. They helped make my dream come true. Overall, the clinic staff were very kind, and all nurses and support staff deserve 10 out of 10. I only had two virtual consultations with my doctor/provider, so I cannot assess those, but the clinic staff were kind, patient, and helpful.

My experience at Pinnacle Fertility was amazing! Dr. Cindy Wong was excellent during my hysterosalpingogram (HSG). She was so gentle and skilled that I did not feel a thing and was completely at ease. She truly made me feel cared for and respected. Highly recommended!

Overall, we had a very good experience with Pinnacle Fertility. From surgery performed by Dr. Paul Lin to follow-up treatment at the Everett clinic, we were very satisfied with the services provided. The staff were friendly, efficient, and experienced. We especially appreciated that Dr. Lin continued monitoring our progress after surgery. My only caution is that you still need to manage your own treatment timeline rather than relying entirely on their guidance. However, our questions and requests for updates were answered promptly.

Choosing Seattle Reproductive Medicine (SRM) was one of the best decisions we made during our fertility journey. From the beginning, the team provided not only expert medical care but also genuine compassion and support throughout, which gave us great peace of mind. Every interaction felt attentive and thorough. The doctors, nurses, and coordinators patiently explained each step, answered questions, and ensured we felt confident about what came next. Their clear, timely, and professional communication significantly reduced our stress. What impressed us most was the personalized care. We never felt like one patient among many. Our circumstances, concerns, and goals were all carefully considered. The team achieved an ideal balance of clinical expertise and emotional support, which is essential in fertility treatment. The clinic itself is organized and efficient, with smooth scheduling and minimal wait times. The coordination and attention to detail behind the scenes are key to their success. We are incredibly grateful for SRM's role in our fertility journey. Their dedication, knowledge, and selfless care set them apart. I highly recommend Seattle Reproductive Medicine to anyone seeking fertility support. They offer more than medical care; they offer hope.
