Dr. Caroline Juneau, United States
Dr. Juneau is board-certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI). Raised in a family of physicians, she knew from an early age that medical school was in her future. Early in her career, REI caught her attention. “I am a fixer. I fix everything around the house,” she jokes. She describes herself as goal-oriented and driven, and reproductive endocrinology and infertility met every criterion that inspired her.
After residency, Dr. Juneau completed her fellowship at Jefferson—Reproductive Medicine Associates of New Jersey. “I knew I wanted a high patient volume and brilliant people to learn from. For me, RMA was that place. As fellows, we spent six months in the embryology laboratory. I do not know of any other fellowship that offers that.”
After fellowship, Dr. Juneau worked in private practice while continuing her research and teaching. Asked what prompted her return to RMA, she says, “At one point in my career, I did not have the opportunity to interact with patients every day, and I felt that something was missing.” She adds that her current role allows her to participate in leading research while providing patients with knowledge and access to these resources as they build their families. Her work has been published in 6 peer-reviewed journals, including Fertility and Sterility and Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics, and she has presented more than 50 abstracts nationwide. Her clinical interests include embryo culture, autoimmune disease and infertility, and advances in preimplantation genetic testing and diagnosis.
Dr. Juneau understands that the fertility process can be exhausting for patients. She says that communication and patient education are top priorities for her at RMA—she helped redesign RMA’s patient education modules.
Outside the office, Dr. Juneau can be found with her family. “We enjoy cooking spicy food and spending time outdoors,” she says, adding that she and her husband were both born in Louisiana and raised in Alabama. “Actually, I enjoy eating more than cooking,” she says with a laugh. Her relaxed manner makes her easy to talk to, which she attributes to the love and support of her family, her husband, and their three young children.
