Dr. Callum Potts, United States


Dr. Callum Potts is the founding partner and Practice Director of CCRM Fertility of Miami. He is fellowship trained in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. His specialties include infertility, egg freezing, in vitro fertilization (IVF), fertility preservation including oncofertility, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), male and tubal factor infertility.

 

A native of Australia, Dr. Potts completed his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Queensland and was a recipient of the Class of 2013 Future Leaders award, the Dean’s Commendation for High Achievement, and a winner of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Women’s Health Prize. He went on to receive a scholarship to complete a Graduate Certificate in Executive Leadership from the University of Queensland, and then a Master of Reproductive Medicine at the University of New South Wales before moving to the USA for his clinical training. He completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Inova Fairfax Hospital and his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Vermont Medical Center, where he stayed as faculty before moving to Miami to found the Aventura CCRM Fertility office.

 

During his career, Dr. Potts has been elected to leadership positions within the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and received awards for teaching and clinical excellence. Dr. Potts has published multiple papers and textbook chapters and has presented his research at state and national conferences on topics including fibroid management, ovarian hormone synthesis, endometrial receptivity, and the relationship between menopause and cognition.

He understands firsthand the emotional and physical challenges involved, making him deeply committed to providing compassionate, personalized care. He takes the time to educate and empower his patients, helping them make informed, evidence-based decisions about their fertility options. At home, Dr. Potts is the proud father of twin boys, a joyful outcome of his own fertility treatment journey at CCRM. When he’s not with his family or at the clinic, he indulges his passion for food and is an enthusiastic player on the U.S. Medical Soccer Team, embodying the same commitment and energy he brings to his practice.

    The office is certainly beautiful, but I found the lack of billing transparency very concerning. Because the office does not accept most insurance, I had to pay out of pocket and received a sheet listing self-pay fees. Shockingly, they decided to change the price to 5 times what I expected and did not honor the pricing sheet they had provided. Although we liked Dr. Bados, the lack of transparency made us distrust this office and seek another center that accepts our insurance.

    This was not our first fertility clinic, but it will be our last. CCRM Miami leads the way in its medical office, clinical staff, and overall family-building experience. I will always be grateful to CCRM Miami.

    Short version: I wish everyone hoping to build a family had the opportunity to do so at CCRM Miami. Long version: I have worked with Dr. Potts and the CCRM family for more than a year. From day one, the doctors, nurses, and staff treated my wife and me with respect, compassion, and professionalism. I sincerely hope this review helps anyone on this difficult journey. Services provided, all in-house: - Donor sperm collection, donor physical examination, donor semen analysis + storage. - Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) - Hysteroscopy - All required bloodwork before and after IUI/IVF - Two IUI procedures - IVF, one egg retrieval and one transfer - Embryo storage - Obstetric ultrasound Financing: We paid out of pocket. Amanda and the finance team were transparent about pricing from day one and shared different financing and health-insurance options. Communication: I live out of state and flew in for treatment. The doctors and nurses were highly flexible and easy to reach. The Salve app is easy to use, shares appointment information and lab results, and offers chat access to nurses and the front desk. Even from out of state, I could meet with the doctor by telehealth. Beyond five-star service, the staff make you feel like family. The process is difficult from the start, so being welcomed with a warm smile at every appointment makes the journey worthwhile! We look forward to continuing to grow our family through CCRM 💕

    Everyone at the Miami office was flexible and friendly while I was in Florida for a week and needed monitoring appointments. They communicated with my home office in Boston and made sure my doctor had everything he needed. Dr. Bados, the nurses, and the administrative staff were helpful and kind.

    My husband and I found CCRM after a less-than-ideal experience at our previous clinic. Switching to CCRM Miami was the best decision we made during our 4-year infertility journey. Dr. Potts far exceeded our expectations. He truly took the time to understand our situation, listen to our concerns, and validate our feelings. From the first time we met him, we knew we were in excellent hands! While there, we also met Dr. Bardos and Dr. Waldman, who were equally compassionate and dedicated to their patients!     I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Jonah Bardos at CCRM Miami, and I highly recommend him.     CCRM Miami is the best. I was looking for a fertility clinic in South Florida for an elective egg-freezing cycle, but found that the clinics either felt like factories or only the doctor was good. My search ended when I met Dr. Bardos at CCRM! He is an absolutely outstanding doctor who provides excellent personalized care and maintains high standards for quality and outcomes. The staff and entire care team are also incredible. Special thanks to nurses Wendy, Aliza, Caroline, and Sam, who went above and beyond for me. The facility is the best I have visited—everything is state-of-the-art and brand new. My cycle was extremely successful, and I am very grateful to Dr. Bardos and everyone at CCRM.     Fertility clinics can make you feel like cattle, but CCRM does not! They care about their patients and spend time with each person. I have been to 5 fertility clinics, and I cannot even describe how CCRM took the time to make me feel like an individual!

Devyn was my assigned nurse, and she was also very helpful and responsive, making all the details involving medications, billing, scheduling, and more easy to manage. The clinic is very clean.     Dr. Bardos and his team are truly exceptional! After a long and challenging fertility journey, Dr. Bardos became our fifth doctor. In addition to his outstanding medical expertise, he offered invaluable wisdom that guided us in making the best decisions throughout the process.     As an OB-GYN who interacts with many reproductive endocrinologists in the area, I rank Dr. Potts as my first choice. We just had a consultation while I was extremely discouraged. He provided much-needed relief during the process. Being a patient while working in the field is difficult: you must give up control but also want every aspect assessed, and I felt that happened here. What stands out is that the doctor personally performs stimulation scans, so you are likely to receive greater oversight and concierge-style care, supported by an excellent laboratory. I look forward to seeing where our fertility journey leads.

    I’m convinced this place is a SCAM. My husband and I had one consultation via zoom. They instructed me to call the nurse once my cycle started. I called and left two voicemails, my calls were never returned. They since tried charging us over $500 for “therapeutic care” when all they have done was give us a consultation…. Any time you try to call you only get the voicemail. Thank god they don’t have our credit card on file. Hopefully after writing this review we will get our phone call returned about the charges we are getting

    I was very nervous about this experience and introducing so many hormones into my body through injections, but everyone at the CCRM clinic made me feel safe and comfortable throughout the process. I told my partner today that I am even excited to go back for the third time this week.     CCRM is wonderful! Everyone is very kind and helpful. I also appreciated that everyone—the nurses, phlebotomists, and Dr. Potts—was always on time for appointments. I value a punctual clinic! Having to send messages through the app instead of calling was a little frustrating, but IVF MD works the same way, and everyone here replied quickly through the app. Overall, it was an excellent experience!

    I cannot speak highly enough of CCRM Miami. Dr. Potts, Sam, and the entire staff are kind, attentive, and conscientious. After three years at another clinic, where I often felt like a number, coming to CCRM was a wonderful experience. The facility is modern and beautiful, the staff love their work, and they genuinely care about their patients. They communicate well, are thorough and attentive, and supported me throughout the process. After three failed embryo transfers elsewhere, I am finally pregnant, and I truly believe the exceptional care I received here contributed greatly. My only regret is not transferring to CCRM Miami sooner.

    This is the most unethical and uncaring clinic I have encountered. First, I was charged $1,000 for blood tests at Quest because they did not submit the physician authorization correctly, and they refused to help when I asked. Second, my previous doctor, Dr. Bados, abruptly left the clinic on the day the announcement was made. Only one doctor remained afterward. Do not trust them; they constantly make mistakes. Third, they repeatedly gave me incorrect instructions with complete confidence, delaying my treatment. I could explain the fourth, fifth, and other reasons in detail. In short—if you value your life and time, do not go there. I tried to resolve our issues privately and amicably, but that failed, so I had to let others know.

    My criticism is directed at CCRM's finance and billing department, which is a disaster. They lack basic customer service, empathy, responsiveness, and any sense of accountability. I had an egg retrieval last year that was paid through a third party. It took them three months to make the payment, and afterward I kept receiving notices that I owed the full amount. Every time I contacted finance, they told me to 'ignore it' because my account should have been paid in full. Then, one month ago, I received a debt collection letter saying I owed the full balance and had never paid. This is completely unacceptable. I contacted CCRM immediately, and they took three weeks to 'investigate.' After three weeks, there was still no accountability, resolution, or even an apology. Worse, I still have not received the proof of payment I repeatedly requested, and no one has called to explain professionally what happened. This is more than incompetence—it is negligence. It caused unnecessary stress and damaged my credit standing. I have no complaints about my treatment. The doctors and nurses who treated me were wonderful and helpful.

After completing all the paperwork, receiving insurance approval, and waiting months for an appointment, we got a call saying we had to pay because they had now decided our insurance was unfavorable to them! We are all human and mistakes happen; what matters most is the response, and this team responded with care and professionalism. What impressed me most was Dr. Potts's attentiveness, knowledge, and empathy. He listens carefully, explains everything clearly, and genuinely cares about every patient. He also develops personalized treatment plans based on each patient's circumstances to ensure the best possible care and outcome. This degree of dedication is rare in medicine in this state, and it meant a great deal to us. My husband and I always felt supported and understood.     I had an excellent experience from start to finish! They made every step feel easy. I was greeted with smiles at every visit, the nurses were warm and friendly, and I rarely had to wait. My IVF nurse, Sam, made everything seamless. She was always there for me! Dr. Potts gave me a sense of calm and confidence that was hard to find during this process. From the first time I met him, I felt reassured and supported. He always made you feel that everything would be okay—and it was!!! I will always be grateful for his care and kindness.     After unsuccessful treatment at other clinics, I had the best possible outcome at CCRM. I had high hopes but low expectations because of my previous experiences. AMH: 1.61, endometriosis, and recurrent miscarriage. Cycle results: 16 eggs retrieved, 12 mature, 11 normally fertilized, 10 embryos biopsied, and 9 healthy euploid embryos! Dr. Potts genuinely cared about and understood me; he truly has his patients’ best interests at heart. He explained everything clearly and patiently answered all my questions. Tianna managed my care with seamless coordination. Devyn responded quickly, was very kind, and even helped complete forms for fertility medication discounts. She stayed in touch throughout and was always on my side, like a friend who understood me. Rachel held my hand at every monitoring appointment, explained everything she saw on the screen, and always made sure I was informed. They even provided vaginal wipes before appointments. Five-star care! Amanda made sure I had everything I needed and was the glue keeping my cycle on track. Esther and Ashley were always warm and smiling, asked how I felt, and genuinely wanted to hear the answer. Chelsea played videos during appointments to keep this nervous patient calm. Caroline and Mandy laughed with me during daily blood draws, and I never bruised! The pink bandages were cute too. Nurse Aly called with daily updates, gave clear instructions, and is bilingual!! Although I thought I had no IVF coverage, Nichole contacted my insurer and discovered I had $15,000 in coverage plus PGT-M coverage. This saved us a great deal of money, and she persisted even after I had declined. She did an excellent job, like everyone here. The next morning, Nurse Aliza even gave me my second trigger shot because I was alone and could not do it myself. She kindly did it without hesitation, and it was the least painful trigger shot of all. At egg retrieval, Wendy, Aliza, Tzivia, Devyn, and anesthesiologist Dr. Sarue made me very comfortable. Because I have an arrhythmia, anesthesiologist Dr. Sidash gave me a thorough consultation and created a heart-rate plan. Wendy checked on me before, during, and after retrieval and even called when I panicked about the trigger shot. She is the most caring nurse I have met, and I have met many. I completely trusted the whole team. CCRM’s lab is incredible. My embryologist, Debbie, reviewed the entire plan with my husband and me, explained everything perfectly, and answered all my questions with humor and confidence. My husband’s embryologist, Richard, eased his nerves. They laughed together, carefully reviewed the plan, confirmed every detail, and even had him initial the label on the specimen cup. Everything was very thoughtful. We were fortunate to have Debbie and Richard. Sasha called with our fertilization results, which were much better than expected, and explained what would happen next. I could hear her smile over the phone. At the end of my cycle, Tanya called with our PGT results, and we laughed and cheered together. She told me how she spoke to my embryos during biopsy, called them beautiful, and said they were the perfect matches for my future baby. Knowing my embryologists spoke to my embryos, prayed for them, and were genuinely excited for us was more healing than I ever expected. When our first PGT-M lab failed, CCRM lab director Alex personally called to comfort me and help create a new plan. Devyn and Dr. Potts both supported me in finding another genetics lab rather than giving up. The new lab reviewed my case immediately, and Alex and Dr. Potts both offered to communicate with them personally. They told me CCRM fully supported our reproductive choices, especially reducing the risk of passing on a genetic disorder, and I felt they meant it. In an ideal world, I would have gone to CCRM first and avoided heartbreak. Without CCRM, my family would never be complete. Thank you all.

    It feels like a money-making machine. We scheduled a virtual consultation and soon received a call asking for insurance information. They said they did not accept my insurance and immediately requested my credit card, stating the consultation cost $360. When I asked what the fee included and whether any labs or other tests were required, the representative said no and that the doctor would ‘create a treatment plan’ during the consultation. How can a doctor create a treatment plan without testing? It is like paying a mechanic to diagnose your car without opening the hood. I did not understand what I would be paying for. They said, ‘That is our process.’ I realized I could get the same advice from artificial intelligence for free. We canceled. I recommend staying away; they seem interested in charging as much as possible rather than helping patients.

    This is the best fertility clinic in the area. We were fortunate to find Dr. Potts and her team, who guided us through every step with exceptional professionalism and care. Their service was outstanding—attentive, compassionate, and focused on every detail. The facility is new and thoughtfully designed, with coffee and snacks that mattered during such an emotionally challenging journey. We genuinely looked forward to each visit and were almost sad to leave when we graduated with the happy news that we were expecting. I firmly believe our success came from the team's expertise at every stage. We had visited other clinics before, and this experience was entirely different.     I just started my fertility journey at CCRM. I am 32 years old... I have been having women's health exams since I was 18, and I always left the gynecologist feeling discouraged, upset, or afraid. This was completely different. I left CCRM Miami feeling uplifted and optimistic for the first time in my adult life. I know my husband and I will receive highly professional care as we begin this new chapter. I am so impressed by the clinic's atmosphere, professionalism, and positive attitude.     I rarely write reviews, but given the many shortcomings of the IVF system, CCRM Miami deserves recognition. After two years in New York and trying several clinics described as the “best” and “top”—whose greatest weakness was a lack of humanity and empathy—we are incredibly grateful to have found CCRM Miami. As a woman working full time, IVF was one of the hardest experiences of my life, and they made it manageable. No one judged or dismissed me.     The CCRM Aventura team is nothing short of amazing. I first met with Dr. Potts, who immediately made us feel comfortable and confident, and that solidified my decision to complete my IVF journey with him. Then there is his team—chef's kiss! From Ester at the front desk greeting you by name the moment you walk in to the incredible nurses Devyn, Mariah, and the many other nurses and medical assistants whose names I unfortunately do not remember, every single person has made this process so much easier. They truly make you feel like you have your own team of personal cheerleaders, supporting you and rooting for you every step of the way. This can be such a difficult and emotional journey, but having Dr. Potts and his team by your side makes it feel so much more manageable. I also cannot forget the anesthesiologist—he was so kind, patient, and reassuring. Just incredible.     My egg-freezing experience at CCRM Miami was wonderful and went smoothly from beginning to end. Dr. Potts and his team were very professional and gave me all the information I needed to feel comfortable throughout the process. I rarely write reviews, but I felt this experience was important to share. I have health anxiety, so I was nervous about giving myself injections and worried about possible mood changes or discomfort afterward. By the second day, however, the injections became much easier, and the entire process went very smoothly. I experienced no mood changes before or after the injections, gained only a few pounds, and felt only mild discomfort on the day of the procedure. Fortunately, the entire process was very easy for me, although I know everyone is different. I am glad that I decided to freeze my eggs and that I did it with Dr. Potts at CCRM. Highly recommended!

    Beware! This clinic's finance department is terrible. They never told me the price of genetic testing, and I have now learned that Myriad billed my insurance—even though I was initially told the test was not covered—for nearly $5,000. That is almost more than the total cost of a complete IUI cycle. Had I known the test cost $5,000, I never would have agreed, especially because it tested only me and not any embryos. I carefully reviewed every email from CCRM. They never mentioned the cost, only that the testing would be outsourced. Failing to disclose a $5,000 test fee is criminal! I will report this under the No Surprises Act. A clinic with so little integrity cannot be trusted. This complaint concerns only the financial side; I could write another review about the clinic, including its clinical nurses, but it would be three pages long. My advice is to use a clinic in another country. It is cheaper, more compassionate, more successful, and far less deceptive.

    My first consultation with Dr. Potts was excellent. I was diagnosed with breast cancer last December and underwent a bilateral mastectomy in February. On March 19, I met with Dr. Potts to discuss my best fertility preservation options. I was impressed from the start. The first thing I noticed was that he had already reviewed all the medical records and lab results I uploaded before my appointment. Even more impressive, I had scheduled only the previous day, set up my patient portal that morning, and uploaded everything about 30 minutes before the visit. In my experience, most doctors review records during the consultation rather than beforehand. I was deeply touched that he came prepared. He explained every step clearly and thoroughly. We even ran a few minutes over, but I never felt rushed. He was patient, knowledgeable, and confident. I ask many questions because I want to understand everything fully, and he answered each one patiently, making me feel calm and reassured. It was a breath of fresh air. His team was also wonderful. They were extremely responsive. Normally, I expect to wait one or two days for a response after sending a patient portal message. At this clinic, I never waited more than 15 minutes. That level of communication and care was impressive. I also want to recognize Devyn, who I believe is a nurse or patient coordinator. I spoke with her several times, and she was very attentive and helpful. Nicole, the patient financial coordinator, was also outstanding. I compared three clinics, and she was by far the most efficient. What I appreciated most was that everyone I met truly listened. I never felt ignored or misunderstood. I openly compared insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs across clinics because I may need a second treatment cycle that I would pay for myself. I explained that I preferred to remain at one clinic, so cost was an important factor in my decision. Nicole understood immediately and quickly provided all the information I needed to make an informed comparison. Although I have not completed treatment, I still highly recommend this clinic based on the attentive care, efficiency, and strong support I have received so far. They were also extremely flexible while I recovered out of state, allowing me to complete bloodwork and ultrasounds before returning to Florida. I am so glad I found this clinic. I plan to update this review after my egg retrieval, but so far my experience has been excellent.

    Dr. Potts is very professional, kind, and easy to talk to. I have a chronic illness, and doctors often skim over my medical history or simply ask me to recount it. Dr. Potts, however, had carefully reviewed every document I submitted through the patient portal before the visit. This immediately put me at ease and made it easier to ask questions. I never felt rushed during the appointment. He gave me plenty of time to ask every question and said I could call if I forgot anything, since there was a lot of information. He is knowledgeable and answers candidly without being harsh. I drove an hour and a half for my first visit and was very satisfied with the care I received.

    My experience with Dr. Potts at CCRM was excellent. Everyone—from patient coordination and finance to nursing—guided me at every step. Finance submitted insurance claims and warned me about possible denials, so there were no surprises. They accept insurance, though not every plan covers egg preservation. Staff communicated through the app and answered questions the same day or next morning. I always felt supported. Dr. Potts listened, answered every question, and helped me achieve a very satisfying result. The clinic and equipment are new, the atmosphere is welcoming, and everyone kept me comfortable on procedure day. I highly recommend this clinic in South Florida!

    After visiting several other South Florida IVF offices over 3 years, I started with CCRM in September. CCRM scheduled my consultation quickly. After consulting Dr. Potts, we felt we had truly found our IVF home. He made us feel cared for and was attentive during our first telehealth call. From Ashley at the front desk to Devyn, Samantha, and Wendy in the back office, everyone was wonderful! Every email and question received a prompt response. There was none of the attitude, hostility, or anger found elsewhere. We began IVF in November and had our retrieval in December. During my 2 weeks of stimulation monitoring, I met Dr. Bardos and Dr. Weldnan. Everything was wonderful! From day one, the care, attention, and bedside manner were impeccable. We are very glad we switched and recommend CCRM to everyone. Do not waste time elsewhere! If you are unhappy, make a change!

    As someone who generally dislikes doctors because of past experiences and was initially hesitant to choose a male fertility specialist, I can confidently say Dr. Potts is the exception! From the first appointment, he made me feel comfortable, heard, and genuinely cared for. He takes time to listen, encourages you when you are discouraged, and prioritizes the best course of action instead of rushing into unnecessary procedures. His bedside manner is impeccable: every interaction is kind, patient, and reassuring. What truly distinguishes him is his patience and willingness to explain things thoroughly. No matter how often you ask, he gladly repeats himself to ensure you fully understand. He is always available for questions and makes patients feel informed and supported at every step. I sincerely wish more doctors were like him. If you want a knowledgeable and compassionate fertility specialist, Dr. Potts is the right choice!

    CCRM has been a breath of fresh air. We have been through two other clinics in the Miami area and the treatment at CCRM is unmatched. There is continuous interaction with its doctors, from first appointments, to regroups, to ultrasounds. The office staff is calm, welcoming, caring, and attentive. The doctors, including Dr. Potts, are knowledgeable, dedicated, forthcoming, and treated us like patients, not a number. The staff is super responsive through their App, answering even the silliest of questions with grace. Any time that I need an appointment with my doctor I can get one within the week. The treatments are customized and the lab is state of the art. I am so grateful for my time and treatment here. I look forward to holding my CCRM baby in the near future!
