    Avoid this clinic at all costs! They seem to treat patients as test subjects, putting profits above genuine care and playing with people's hopes. I spent five months trying to obtain a refund so I could use another clinic. Although I explicitly asked them not to refund the money to my credit card and they confirmed they would consult me about how to process it, they issued the refund without my consent. It went to a credit card I had already paid off, which carries a high interest rate and prevents me from using the funds. This experience has been deeply frustrating and disappointing. After the procedure, the doctor called me and, rather than explaining what went wrong, immediately asked when I would schedule my next cycle. When I asked about a refund, the blunt response was, “You won't.” However, when I contacted accounting, they said I would receive a refund based on the claims already completed. This lack of communication and conflicting information only added to the frustration of dealing with this clinic. I regret not trusting the earlier reviews and choosing this clinic. It is clear that they place pharmaceutical contracts above patient care, disregarding patients' emotions and personal finances in the process.

    Renata on the billing team has the worst performance. She is extremely rude. My wife accidentally prepaid for services before insurance was added. Although insurance told me by phone that it would cover 90%, they refused to issue a refund.

    This review keeps being deleted, but I will repost it every time! This is the worst fertility clinic ever! Do not trust their finance department. I believe they are misappropriating funds. They wrongly charge patients for services. I will investigate this thoroughly and determine who is ultimately in charge there.

    I do not know how some people get jobs. There is one woman—Destiny Everett. ***** This employee has since begun calling me from anonymous numbers and harassing and threatening me over my Google review!!!!!! She has called me 5 times—swearing, screaming in my ear, and calling me insulting names verbally/in writing!!!!!! I will file a police report and call management!!!!!!!! ******** I kept speaking with the same AA woman with a country accent. Answering one question required putting me on hold a million times or scheduling me weeks later to discuss a bill with “finance.” My journey with Duke ends now. She was the last straw—I wish I knew her name. Please find someone competent who can speak professionally on the phone. How can I keep having conversations about finances and other matters with the same person, with the same voice, attitude, and manner every time?

    No one answers the phone. I would give 0 stars if I could. The front desk staff seem to have plenty of time to talk to each other but not enough time to answer the phone. After my doctor sent the referral information, I had to drive there to schedule an appointment. The receptionist sarcastically said she was sorry for not answering my call and offered to schedule the appointment. I understand why there are so many negative reviews.

    Our fertility journey is just beginning, but after a poor experience at another local center, we switched to Duke Fertility Center, and I am glad we did. The administrative and nursing staff are very kind and responsive. They answered all my questions and helped us feel comfortable and confident throughout the process. The introductory meeting with the physician was also very helpful and informative. We also received clear communication about pricing. Everything was transparent, unlike at the *other* center. At Duke Fertility Center, we feel that we are receiving professional, high-quality care. Thank you all!

    I had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience with Duke Fertility Clinic that I feel compelled to share. My partner and I made multiple visits to the clinic, traveling from several states away, and underwent various procedures in preparation for starting our family. We met with Dr. Sarah M and clearly explained our desire for a dual surrogate journey. Initially, everything seemed “fine,” and we proceeded with additional appointments as required, investing significant time, effort, and thousands of dollars in the process. After 6-7 months of commitment, we were blindsided by the news that Duke’s “policy” doesn’t allow for a dual surrogate journey—apparently based on the opinion of an outside psychology consultant. This critical detail was never mentioned to us upfront, despite our clear communication about our goals from the beginning. It felt like a complete bait-and-switch. We wasted months of precious time and a substantial amount of money, only to have to start over elsewhere. Since this ordeal, we’ve found a much better fertility clinic that actually listens to us and supports our family-building plans. Looking back, I deeply regret choosing Duke. What stings even more is the lack of accountability or empathy from Dr. Sarah M—she never called to follow up, never advocated for us with the consultant, nothing. It’s been weeks since this all unfolded, and the silence is deafening. I strongly advise anyone considering fertility treatments to steer clear of Duke Fertility Clinic. Save your time, money, and emotional energy—go somewhere else!!!

    Dishonest practices. If this clinic cannot even be trusted to handle billing correctly, I would never trust them with fertility care. They also do not proactively follow up about the problems they created. I was billed twice for my initial visit, which is completely unlawful. I had already paid the original bill, but they submitted another claim to my secondary insurer for more than twice the original amount, so I received a second bill. When I pointed this out, Duke Fertility's billing department said that because of all the confusion they had caused, they would withdraw the second claim and refund the cost of the visit. They did not keep that promise. They refunded the smaller original amount, then resubmitted the claim to my secondary insurer without notifying me. I called and left messages repeatedly, but no one returned my calls. They communicated directly with my insurance company instead of with me. If the billing department is this dishonest, I would not trust them with such a sensitive process. Their staff were also cold and clearly dishonest. Getting a return call is nearly impossible. I went to another clinic for a reason. Do not trust this clinic.

    My fiancé and I tried six IUI cycles here, all unsuccessfully. Most nurses were kind, but a few seemed resentful about serving certain populations. They also had the terrible practice of bringing students into procedures without patient consent. I was told to undress from the waist down and wait for the nurse. She entered with a group of students. I especially remember a male student walking in, rubbing his hands and looking disturbingly eager. The nurse said she was going to ask me, but I told her to remove them. Consent should be obtained before a patient undresses and places their feet in the stirrups. It was my most uncomfortable medical experience. I strongly advise against wasting your time and money here. They do not seem to care about patient outcomes.

    I had an excellent experience at Duke Fertility Center. Dr. Sarah Moustafa is knowledgeable, empathetic, and highly skilled. She explains every step patiently and never makes you feel rushed, overwhelmed, or dismissed. The nurses and staff were also outstanding—warm, supportive, and consistently kind. Special thanks to Rosemarie, who cared for me through good and difficult days. From scheduling and monitoring to medication guidance and egg retrieval, the team's attention and reliability made me feel well cared for at every step. I am deeply grateful. I sincerely appreciate Duke Fertility Center's professionalism, warmth, teamwork, and expertise and would recommend them without hesitation to anyone seeking fertility treatment. Thank you!

After two failed IVF cycles elsewhere and being turned away by many doctors, I met Dr. Young, who gave me a chance when others had given up. From the first consultation, I felt supported and understood and had real hope for the first time in years. Dr. Young went above and beyond to understand my unique case, conduct extensive research, and create a personalized treatment plan. His expertise, determination, and compassionate care turned an impossible dream into reality. Today, I am delighted to have a three-month-old baby, thanks to his dedication and exceptional skill. The entire Duke Fertility Center team also deserves high praise. Everyone treated me with kindness, professionalism, and respect. The clinic was welcoming, and I always felt I received the best care. From nurses to administrative staff, everyone worked together to make this journey positive and memorable. Dr. Young and the team truly changed my life.     After years of trying to conceive and multiple IVF attempts at several institutions, we finally welcomed our son. The professionalism, care, and attention to detail at Duke Fertility Center are unmatched. I now understand why they rank among the world's top five clinics. Words cannot express my gratitude for the precious gift they gave our family. My only regret is not coming sooner.

    My wife and I just completed our third intrauterine insemination (IUI) at this clinic. Everyone there is very professional and friendly, and I have no complaints about that. Billing, however, has been a problem. We requested an itemized statement for all out-of-pocket services, but they could not provide any information. We contacted the financial manager we had spoken with before our previous IUIs, but she was also unable to answer our questions. The clinic is very professional, but I advise patients not to pay out of pocket until they provide a detailed breakdown of charges. My wife and I found this suspicious, so we called their finance department and requested an itemized list of everything we had paid for.
