Dr. Abittan is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and board-eligible in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. He is committed to providing the highest level of care through advanced technology and treatments and has developed and led research aimed at optimizing IVF success rates.
Dr. Abittan was accepted into an accelerated undergraduate and medical program and subsequently earned his medical degree from Commonwealth Medical College. He completed his residency at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where he was appointed research chief resident. Dr. Abittan remained on Long Island to complete his fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Northwell Health Fertility.
Dr. Abittan is passionate about working with all patients, couples, and families to achieve their personalized fertility goals. His fellowship research focused on optimal IVF protocols for patients with diminished ovarian reserve and modifiable lifestyle factors that affect the genetic makeup of embryos.
He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and American Medical Association (AMA).
A versatile researcher, Dr. Abittan has contributed to more than 45 presentations worldwide on IVF success, frozen embryo transfer, preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), and early prediction of IVF outcomes. He is actively involved in several prospective research trials and serves as a peer reviewer for multiple medical journals, including the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics (JARG).
As the father of a young child, Dr. Abittan hopes to help all patients experience the gift of family.
