Dr. Aimee Chang, United States
Aimee S. Chang, MD, first became interested in reproductive medicine as a medical student while studying how the brain influences the menstrual cycle at fundamental cellular and molecular levels. She conducted early research in the laboratory of a pioneer in reproductive neuroendocrinology at Yale School of Medicine. This interest became a career caring for patients with fertility difficulties while studying and training at leading universities and medical centers.
Dr. Chang is board-certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility and in obstetrics and gynecology.
She earned her undergraduate degree in biology from Stanford University with distinction and academic honors and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She was selected as a Regents Scholar at the UC San Diego School of Medicine. She received a Howard Hughes Medical Institute fellowship for research at Yale, where she also completed her OB/GYN residency. Dr. Chang completed her reproductive endocrinology and infertility fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, then served there as assistant professor and director of the oocyte donation program.
Dr. Chang has presented her research nationally and authored many peer-reviewed publications in reproductive medicine. She received the President's Presenter Award from the Society for Gynecologic Investigation, an Ortho-McNeil research grant from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and a Berlex Foundation Faculty Development Award.
She is an active member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, Oregon Medical Association, and Medical Society of Metropolitan Portland.
Her clinical and subspecialty interests include all aspects of infertility and assisted reproductive technology, in vitro fertilization (IVF), reproductive endocrinology, menstrual disorders, recurrent pregnancy loss, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery for conditions including endometriosis and fibroids, Müllerian anomalies, and outcomes after assisted reproductive technology.
After growing up in Southern California and studying on both coasts, Dr. Chang settled in the Pacific Northwest and now lives in Portland with her husband and two young children.
