Dr. Lynn Westphal, United States

Lynn Marie Westphal, MD, FACOG, graduated with honors from Lawrence University, earned her medical degree from Stanford University, and completed OB/GYN residency training at UCLA and Stanford. She completed a molecular biology fellowship at Stanford and a reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) fellowship at UCSF, and is dual board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Dr. Westphal joined Stanford's full-time faculty in 1998 and served as professor of obstetrics and gynecology, director of the Fertility Preservation Program, director of the Third-Party Reproduction Program, and REI fellowship director. Her interest in fertility preservation for cancer survivors led her to establish one of the country's earliest oocyte cryopreservation programs. She has held many national leadership roles and chaired the American Society for Reproductive Medicine's Fertility Preservation Special Interest Group from 2008 to 2009. She served as Stanford's director of women's health from 2005 to 2012. In 2012, she co-founded the Stanford Center for Health Research on Women and Sex Differences in Medicine (WSDM) and served as co-director for two years.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Kindbody. Every staff member, from reception to the doctors, made our experience excellent. The phlebotomists made frequent blood draws a positive experience. Ultrasound technicians Brittney and Joellen were always kind and knowledgeable. Every nurse we worked with helped us navigate the ups and downs of fertility treatment with warmth and grace. Our nurse Laura supported us throughout and answered our many questions. Even the embryologists we met were professional and helpful during our IVF journey. My wife and I were treated like family, which made graduating bittersweet, but we are now 20 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby boy—all thanks to Kindbody! Even if you are only seeking information, they can help from the first phone call!

Kindbody supported us at every step of our journey. We are very grateful to Kindbody for helping us grow our family!

It went more smoothly than expected. After such a long process in such a short time, we conceived on the first attempt. We are fortunate to be expecting another baby girl 👧

Unfortunately, we did not have the best experience with Kindbody. This is not a reflection of the staff and nurses at Kindbody Rogers. Our poor experience resulted from Kindbody's internal approach to patient communication. Once we left the physical clinic, we could only communicate through the portal with people we had never met. Our "care team" consisted of a doctor in Missouri, whom we only met over Zoom, and a frequently changing group of nurses. All medical decisions seemed designed for people struggling with infertility, which is Kindbody's main focus, but that was not our issue. Every small detail delayed us and somehow increased our costs, including additional baseline appointments and tissue sample storage fees. Kindbody's billing team is a genuine nightmare, and for that reason alone I would not recommend them. You never speak with the same person twice about billing, so you must explain your situation repeatedly before anything is understood or corrected. They billed the wrong insurance, and it was almost impossible to explain something as simple as, "I have a new job and this is now my insurance; please do not charge us out of pocket." Just thinking about it gives me a headache. Unfortunately, we experienced a loss while working with Kindbody, and our care team communicated the news very poorly. We gave KB another chance and had another unsuccessful IUI. In the next cycle, we used a different local clinic for a fraction of the cost and conceived immediately, which makes you wonder. Again, the staff and nurses at the Rogers KB office were very kind and knowledgeable, and this review does not reflect on them. The internal communication and the care team directing our treatment through the "portal" caused the poor experience. If you have excellent insurance and are looking locally for IVF, this may be your best option. Otherwise, know that NWA has other options that will treat you like family and have in-house billing teams.

A wonderful facility! They were extremely helpful and informative throughout the entire process!

This company has the most convoluted and difficult to deal with billing department I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Absolutely nothing about the billing provided is understandable and then when you need a refund because they have seriously over billed you, they take months to respond. We have been with this clinic for a year, and found out in December that they had over billed us and were holding on to over $18,000 of our money! They did not inform of us of this and we only found out by accident. Then after requesting a refund at the beginning of December, we are still waiting for the refund. They will not respond to my daily messages asking for an update. Their shady business practices should be criminal and it’s disgusting that they would take so long to refund such large amounts of money to people who have had to scrape together huge amounts of money for the desperate hope of becoming parents. As much as I loved my doctor and nurses, I could never recommend this company to another person and highly advise you to save yourself the stress and drive out of NWA for care!

The staff was incredibly kind and helpful to myself and my wife. They answered all of our questions and made us feel very comfortable. They were extremely expedient and made the initial appointment stress-free.

Our experience with Kindbody was simply amazing. The nurses and staff were always so kind and encouraging. Infertility can be an emotionally difficult journey, and we were treated with kindness and respect at every appointment and whenever we had questions. They truly made us feel cared for and went above and beyond for us. I will always be grateful for the nurses and staff Kindbody provided.

We had a wonderful experience at Kindbody in Rogers, Arkansas. The egg retrieval and FET were successful on the first attempt, and we welcomed our son this February. The Kindbody staff were responsive and wonderful, especially our nurse Amy and Dr. Purdie.

My experience with KindBody during IUI was wonderful. From the moment I entered the clinic, the team was warm, friendly, compassionate, and fully supportive. They patiently answered every question throughout the process, making a vulnerable treatment experience feel empowering and safe. As a woman, this was absolutely the most positive medical experience I have ever had. I have recommended them to everyone I know!

Losing both fallopian tubes devastated me. I had always wanted to be a mother. Then I found Kindbody. The staff were wonderful! They were very understanding and kind. They explained everything and answered all my questions. Kindbody restored my hope and motivated me to pursue motherhood! Thank you, Kindbody, for helping my husband and me through this journey!

Absolutely amazing! The staff were very kind and caring. Everyone went above and beyond to make the entire visit feel comfortable, relaxing, and safe. Definitely a five-star clinic!

I have only positive things to say about Kindbody in Rogers. From my first contact with them through my first egg retrieval, everyone was very kind and friendly. I never had trouble reaching anyone. I usually received a response within a few hours, if it even took that long. I used insurance, and whenever a billing issue arose, I messaged the billing team. They responded within two days and corrected it without any difficulty. The issue was only an oversight, so it was not a big deal. All the clinical staff are wonderful and lovely. You are truly well cared for at this location!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Kindbody Rogers! It was one of the best decisions we have made since moving here last spring. We had been receiving fertility treatment at another clinic in Cincinnati before deciding to transfer here. The difference in care was remarkable. The team tailored the treatment plan to our situation, listened to the difficulties we had experienced, and made improvements. We now have a healthy two-month-old daughter and are very grateful to Kindbody!

I am very grateful to have had them with me on this journey. The Kindbody team was wonderful: compassionate, attentive, and supportive throughout. They gave me hope and confidence during a stressful process. I liked having virtual consultations and communicating through their portal, which made everything very convenient. If you are struggling to conceive, I highly recommend Kindbody!

I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Kindbody team for their professionalism and attentive care! I completed IVF here, and the entire process was well organized and compassionate. The doctors and nurses were always available, helped ease my stress, and answered all my questions. Thanks to them, we are finally expecting our long-awaited baby. I am sincerely grateful!

From my first visit through graduation, Dr. Purdy and the entire Kindbody team were outstanding. Words cannot fully express my gratitude for their care and support. Even through unexpected setbacks, the team in Rogers, Arkansas, remained beside me. I am very grateful for my Kindbody family.

We are so thankful for the Kindbody staff. They were always so kind, accepting, and helpful. We had a great experience. They worked hard to provide services that fit our needs. We welcomed our beautiful baby boy last month and couldn’t be more grateful.

The medical team and doctors are excellent, but the billing department is terrible. Kindbody really needs to improve this process, as I believe it causes many negative reviews. My husband and I completed one round of IVF. The finance department required payment upfront before we had even signed the IVF consent forms and agreement. I asked many questions about costs before starting IVF, but it was difficult to get clear answers. Finance only gave me the self-pay amount, which was useless because I have insurance. They demanded such a large prepayment before even receiving accurate information from the insurance company. We prepaid $3,400 just for IVF and egg retrieval, not including cycle monitoring visits, medications, or anesthesia. After retrieval, billing sent me a $1,600 bill. I had to remind finance that I had already paid $3,400, which they seemed to have forgotten. They told me that once insurance finished processing and all charges were posted to the visit, they would notify me if I was due a refund. I did not understand this because I had already received the final statement showing the insurance payment. We need another round of IVF, so who knows whether I will receive the refund before the next cycle begins. If you plan to use Kindbody, review your bills carefully to ensure you do not overpay. Good luck, and I hope you can communicate with them successfully.

I will not lie—the process was not easy, but the clinic staff were so caring and supportive that they made everything much easier. I sincerely wish them happiness and good health, and I thank them for all their care.

Summary: Overall, this is a very good clinic. The staff are friendly and the medical care is excellent, but smoother communication and billing processes would make it ideal. More details: Background: Egg freezing Strengths: The staff were very friendly and pleasant in person. Guidance was very clear once stimulation began, and the follow-up after egg retrieval was thoughtful. The backup medication they provided when my eggs arrived late was a lifesaver. The financial advisor was very helpful and responsive. The medication videos and post-stimulation/retrieval documents were excellent. I genuinely felt that minimizing complications was their highest priority. Areas for improvement: (Preface: I have a Type A personality, value organization, and like to have all the information.) Communication delays: Several time-sensitive questions went unanswered for days. With a narrow treatment window, delays could mean missing a cycle, which made me very anxious. Once, I had to call on a Friday before I finally received a response and an appointment was arranged. The assigned nurse was ill, which I completely understand, but the process needs a backup plan. Perhaps the primary and backup contacts could proactively reach out and track the patient’s upcoming cycle because treatment windows are so tight. A minor personal complaint: Several nurses asked, ‘You are doing IVF, right?’ I was not; I was freezing eggs. Although this was minor, as someone new to the process who did not understand the similarities, it made me worry that the wrong protocol might be used. Cycle discussion: I would have appreciated a more detailed discussion of progress and dose adjustments during stimulation. After each visit, they clearly explained the next medication doses but did not mention other factors under consideration. In the post-retrieval call, I learned that my slow follicular growth and longer stimulation period might have warranted dose adjustments. Of course, hindsight is clearer, there was no guarantee this would have helped, and they may have considered every factor, including the risk of overstimulation. Still, I personally would have preferred a deeper discussion. As a newcomer without a medical background, I could not ask about issues I did not know existed. More information during stimulation would have improved my understanding and allowed me to consider other possibilities, even if the dosage remained unchanged. Billing: One issue was especially frustrating. I had a billing question about a vitamin D laboratory test that continued for weeks, with repeated follow-ups and reassignment but no clear answer. Receiving an unexpected bill while trying to determine which codes were standard and which were additional was very frustrating. One message was marked resolved even though the issue had not actually been resolved.

I had an excellent experience at Kindbody! My egg retrieval was successful, I became pregnant with one of the embryos, and now I have a healthy daughter. I am so grateful to Dr. Rhee, Dr. Purdy, and nurse Laura Largent for helping me build my family!

Communication was excellent. This is the only doctor's office I have visited where you can check in ahead of time, and the staff are very friendly!

For the past three or four weeks, I tried to arrange a referral to Kindbody for male fertility testing. My primary care doctor sent it, but the “wording was wrong,” so it had to be revised and resent repeatedly over three weeks. They ultimately submitted it four times, and I had to visit the office in person to confirm it had actually been sent because Kindbody kept denying receipt. Kindbody gave many conflicting explanations: they had received it but had not, the wording was wrong, or they failed to read the final correctly worded referral carefully. After making me wait a month, they finally called to say they would not provide the service if I came alone, wasting an entire month. Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise. If this reflects their other issues, I am glad I avoided them.

My IVF video consultation was rescheduled three times. Once a date was finally set, I received a call and was very excited, only to be told that my insurance would not cover it and I would need to pay $300 out of pocket. After the call, they canceled my appointment, seemingly assuming I could not afford it. 💔😢😢😢💔 I wanted to try this clinic because of its good reviews, but I am deeply disappointed. The person on the phone was extremely rude and remained rude after canceling my appointment for the fourth time.

My first Kindbody appointment was by telehealth, and it was an excellent experience. Throughout the process, I felt heard, respected, and supported. The doctor explained everything patiently and thoroughly and answered my questions without making me feel rushed or dismissed. Starting fertility treatment can feel overwhelming, but this telehealth visit eased much of my anxiety and made the process feel more approachable. My patient experience consultant Ewelina was very responsible. She always responded promptly to my questions and kept our conversations relaxed and positive, making the process less stressful. The virtual platform was easy to use, communication was clear, and I left feeling hopeful about the next steps. I would recommend Kindbody to anyone beginning a fertility journey or considering an initial telehealth consultation.

Kindbody is terrible. They cannot even code bills correctly. They say they have been working on it for more than two months, yet have not corrected their own errors. If they cannot code billing records properly, how can patients trust them to help create a child? Customer service is extremely poor. Calls are never answered, and there is no way to reach anyone to resolve problems they caused. Our health insurer told us that several bills were coded incorrectly, but Kindbody still has not fixed them, leaving us owing thousands of dollars that insurance should cover. I would never recommend them for any service.

Everyone at Kindbody was kind and helpful from the beginning. Their genuine concern for patients is clear. They patiently guided us through every step and answered every question. Their support meant so much, and we are very grateful for everything they did on our path to parenthood. We cannot wait to welcome our baby boy this summer!

I have truly enjoyed my fertility journey with Kindbody. I visited other clinics, but their service was not welcoming, making it hard to feel motivated to schedule follow-up appointments. Kindbody’s care is warm and attentive, the clinic feels comfortable and inviting, and I can message them at any time and receive a prompt response. Everyone is friendly at every visit, and virtual consultations are available when needed, which is very convenient. Fertility treatment is challenging enough, so it is wonderful to find a clinic that feels welcoming and comfortable. I had been looking for this kind of environment, and Kindbody was exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend them! :))) I gave four stars rather than five because I recently had problems with billing and insurance verification. Twice, they suddenly told me I was out of network and would need to self-pay, which was not true. I received little explanation for these notices and had to contact my insurance agent. This caused unnecessary stress, but it is the only issue I encountered.
    Apr 20, 2026
Staff communication was exceptional and faultless. I sincerely recommend this clinic. From the moment I entered, the receptionist was warm and attentive and made me feel welcome. The women in the laboratory were wonderful, the ultrasound team was extremely friendly, and everyone was excellent.
    Apr 16, 2026
The entire process, from the initial consultation to insemination, took only two months, and every staff member responded promptly. Everyone was attentive and caring. We drove four hours to the clinic and have no regrets because we felt cared for and heard here.
    Apr 13, 2026
Do not go to this clinic or any similar facility. Go to Dallas, where they are more professional. Before I agreed to insemination, they clearly told me my insurance would cover everything and that I would only need to pay certain specified amounts. Everything seemed straightforward, so I proceeded. They had clearly explained that my insurance would cover the blood tests and all follow-up visits. Two years later, they called to say I still owed $800 because my insurance company had denied the claims, so I had to pay everything out of pocket. Would you be shocked if this happened to you or your family? Would you be happy as a customer to receive a call a year or two later saying your insurance had denied payment? Put yourself in my position. If I had known insurance would not cover it and I would have to pay out of pocket, I would never have agreed to the procedure. This was your error because you did not communicate properly with the insurance company before treatment began. How can you blame us? Do you do this to every customer—mislead them into treatment, then charge them when insurance refuses payment? You did not even offer a reasonable solution, only demanded that we fully pay for your mistake.

Words cannot express my gratitude to the entire staff at Kindbody Arkansas. I recently had an egg retrieval there, and the whole team was wonderful. Dr. Purdy is professional, knowledgeable, and caring. She knows how to adjust treatment plans to achieve the best possible outcome. Megan is responsive and patiently addresses any questions or concerns. Mckenzie was extremely reassuring and patient while we decided whether to pursue IVF. She assured me that the entire team would support me throughout the journey, and I felt that her words were true at every stage. Our ultrasound technician Pam showed indescribable compassion and empathy. Early in treatment, she quickly eased my anxiety, hugged me while I cried, and reassured me that I had come to the right place. Deciding to undergo infertility treatment can feel overwhelming, but the staff at Kindbody made me feel cared for and made the process much easier. I highly recommend Kindbody and trust that they will provide excellent medical care.
    May 5, 2026
I had high expectations… I do not understand why anyone would give Kindbody Arkansas a positive review. Based on my own experience and what I have heard from others, their communication is absolutely terrible. Our treatment could not proceed because of the lack of communication. This is deeply frustrating for people going through an emotionally difficult time while trying to build a family or find answers. To make matters worse, there were other unacceptable problems as well. I hope this review encourages others to seek better treatment, support, and answers. I hope it helps others avoid the additional harm we experienced.
    Apr 30, 2026
My experience at Kindbody Fertility was one of the most disappointing healthcare experiences I have ever had. From the beginning, communication was inconsistent and unclear. It was difficult to obtain straightforward answers about treatment plans and costs, and the information seemed to vary depending on whom I asked. The pricing was also extremely frustrating. There was almost no transparency or choice of packages, making an already physically, emotionally, and financially demanding process even harder. Much of the time, I felt left to calculate the costs on my own without clear guidance. Infertility is already an extraordinarily difficult journey, and patients deserve compassion, clear explanations, and consistent care. Unfortunately, I did not experience those things here. I hope they take patient feedback seriously and make meaningful improvements to their communication and care structure, because their current service is far from adequate for patients undergoing such a painful treatment process.

Every staff member at this clinic was wonderful. Throughout my IVF treatment, I always felt safe and heard. After all the highs and lows of IVF, I finally welcomed my baby girl in March 2026.

I cannot say enough great things about Kind Body in Rogers! From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel so welcomed and genuinely taken care of. You can tell they actually care about their clients — not just as customers, but as real people. They take the time to listen, answer questions, and make sure you’re comfortable every step of the way. It’s rare to find a place where the entire team is this passionate and attentive. If you’re in the NWA area and looking for a place that truly has your best interest at heart, this is it. Highly, highly recommend!

Following up again—Kindbody is a mess. For weeks I have been trying to get them to complete the paperwork needed to transfer my embryos, but I have received no response. Instead, I received an email saying that if I do not move my embryos soon, they will transfer them to Colorado! This is gross mismanagement. Public reviews seem to be the only thing they respond to. I am leaving my old review below, but I want to say: do not go to Kindbody for egg retrieval. They currently have no RE, as Dr. Adams is leaving at the end of August. When I tried to transfer my embryos to a new clinic, I discovered that Kindbody either failed to complete the necessary laboratory work or lost my records! Now I cannot get another clinic to accept my embryos! If anyone else is experiencing this, you are not alone. The next step may be legal action—I am furious.
    Jan 2, 2025
Terrible mismanagement and a complete lack of communication. From the beginning, we were given a list of tasks to complete. We left the time-sensitive items until last so we could begin the IVF process without problems. Just before we were ready, we were told we first had to complete a consultation—one that was not time-sensitive at all. We called to ask whether it could be waived or postponed while we began IVF but received no response. We called again a few days later and then twice a week, but no one ever called back. Next, we tried the online portal and were promised that someone would follow up, but no one did. I messaged them and received the same empty promise. My wife finally drove to their location. When she managed to speak with someone, their response was, “Oh, sorry, we are actually closing.” What a waste of time. The lack of follow-up is completely disrespectful. If you cannot serve people, do not keep them waiting for weeks with empty promises!
    Dec 17, 2024
Update: I completed my final IUI with them in February 2024. The pregnancy ended during a routine visit at their clinic in April 2024. I just received a message from them saying, “Our records indicate that you were pregnant at the time and were to follow up with your OB. We are checking to see how things are going and whether you have any updates for us!” How incompetent and insensitive can these people be?! If they bothered to scroll through my entire chart, they would find the answer without retraumatizing me. These people cannot read patients' medical records and have terrible bedside manner, especially considering the extremely sensitive nature of fertility challenges. Please take your business elsewhere! I wish I could give them 0 stars. I agree with everything mentioned in the other reviews. Communication and customer service are terrible. I had to contact them repeatedly just to reach someone and schedule an appointment. Their current phlebotomist shamed me after several attempts to draw blood. They are insensitive toward LGBT patients: I was repeatedly offended when providers recommended timed intercourse during my cycle, and I had to keep reminding them that my partner does not produce sperm. I also noticed that charges on my account had increased. This clinic operates more like a bad business that puts customers/patients last and focuses on profiting from people's fertility difficulties. Unfortunately, there are no other options in Vancouver.

If you don't care about being treated as an individual with unique needs, this might be a great place for you. I say that without sarcasm. We, on the other hand, had a pretty terrible experience here. The facilities seemed great, from my limited experience, but Kindbody really lacked in patient care (ironic!). The staff do not have the patience to treat you as an individual. We needed quite a bit more: Explanation of the process and costs (we still don't know!), empathy, communication (it was a very frustrating experience to try to get ahold of someone). Infertility and treatment is a very difficult journey to begin with, one that should be met with empathy and consideration, and having a medical team that doesn't show up in this way makes it 100 times worse. I felt like I was seen as a problem patient, just because I was trying to get answers about next steps or an explanation as to what was happening. (My partner says, "They act like you're crazy just for asking questions.") There isn't a local doctor at this clinic. They fly one in once a month to do procedures. This may give you some indication of their availability, or lack thereof. The phlebotomist we saw was great. And one RN, who we only knew virtually because she lived elsewhere, was compassionate, but pretty unavailable. We've been assured by a naturopath specializing in fertility, that we would receive far better patient care at another local fertility clinic, so that is our next step. Fingers crossed.

Update: Dr. Adams was wonderful, but now that she is gone, they brought in Dr. Westphal to fill the gap, and she is simply...well, terrible! Honestly, after my first negative review, the clinic staff improved considerably. They genuinely made an effort to turn things around, and I was very grateful. Now, back to Dr. Westphal—she should not treat patients. I am sure she is a great scientist, but she was disengaged and refused to follow the treatment plan established by Dr. Adams and the team. It largely felt as though she did not want to treat patients because she lives in California. For full transparency, my BMI is high. To become a patient, it needed to be under 45; mine was 43, and I was ready to begin. Dr. Westphal initially told me it needed to be 40, which I thought I could achieve. She then told my nurse that I needed to reach 30%. When my nurse, who was incredible, had to deliver this news, she was upset and said she knew this was not Kindbody's policy and did not understand it. She has since left Kindbody too. Perhaps I fell for good marketing, but I desperately wanted a #Kindbaby and truly wanted it to work. I wasted thousands of dollars trying, and I am heartbroken. I may try visiting a nearby Kindbody location in California or Denver for retrieval and transfer, but Dr. Westphal is an absolute no for me. There may even be a racial issue: according to a Black IVF group on FB, at least 3 patients requested a different doctor because Dr. Westphal treated them poorly. Fortunately, they had success with Dr. Ekpo in San Francisco/Walnut Creek, reportedly 2/3 women, and Dr. Bendison, reportedly 1/3 women. Another woman stopped altogether because her experience with Dr. Westphal was too painful. Alternatives: ORM was not a great experience for me. I found their online system difficult to manage. They also recorded all my vital signs incorrectly without any explanation. A friend also transferred from Kindbody to Spring Fertility after a poor experience with Dr. Westphal. They need to remove her. She is damaging Kindbody's clinic and reputation. I assume this is because she works in California and, while they search for a new resident doctor, she simply does not want to travel to treat patients. That was the impression she gave me. Once again, I am heartbroken and disappointed by my Kindbody experience. I know Portland is not a large market, but we deserve better treatment than Dr. Westphal provided. Please, someone fix this! ___________________________________________________________ As a Black woman, I truly wanted to make this work with Dr. Adams! But the errors have already been alarming, and we have not even started the major procedures. Dr. Adams was excellent during the initial virtual appointment, but communicating with the staff was difficult. Scheduling follow-up appointments was terrible; no one answered or returned calls. I recently had blood drawn for genetic testing and was told the wrong test had been performed. Now, because of the clinic's mistake, I must pay for another test and blood draw. Their nurse also treated me like a pincushion and had to stick me more than seven times to draw blood, so that aspect of the experience almost seems minor. I truly wanted to give Dr. Adams a chance, but this organization is seriously lacking in care. I feel that going through the process here would be more painful than simply switching clinics. I also forgot to mention that I was forced to stand outside in the dark and cold because I was told to arrive 15 minutes before my appointment, but the people inside neither answered the phone nor opened the door. Because of the lack of service and communication, I feel it would be difficult to trust or have confidence in this clinic as treatment progresses. New patients, beware.

Considering a law suit under hipaa for a delay in releasing my wife's information to her, to initiate the transfer of our embryos, and lack of transparency in light of their closure. Very unprofessional, and a potentially huge loss for them!

I started with this clinic when Dr. Adams was at Vios Fertility. Dr. Adams and Vios were wonderful, but everything went downhill when it became Kindbody. They are closing this location, yet charged me for a consultation about another transfer of embryos currently stored with them—a service I can no longer receive because they chose to close. The only option they offered for a free embryo transfer was Denver, Colorado. I reluctantly paid a third-party company $1,200 to move my embryos to a clinic in a more convenient location, then Kindbody charged another $250 for the time and effort involved in releasing them. They gave me less than 30 days’ notice to arrange all this, which was a major undertaking in itself! I do not recommend KINDBODY clinics.

Do not go here. I am not surprised this clinic is temporarily closed. The communication, or lack of it, is a complete joke. Several times, I was asked to sign consent forms only an hour before a procedure with no advance warning. I received no instruction on how to inject my medication and actually had to Google how to do it. Whenever I called to report the first day of my cycle or ask a question, I either reached voicemail or the call center, where they always said, “I will send a message to [insert random person here], and they will get back to you.” Of course, no one ever did. Just now, I waited on hold with the call center for more than 30 minutes simply to learn whether there was a balance on my account. They seemed content to leave me waiting with no interest in returning to the call. I have never been treated so poorly by a clinic, especially one intended to help families grow. Do better and be kind. I hate that I wasted my hard-earned money here.

Please do not go to this company. After weeks of attending appointments and spending about $35,000, which we are still paying monthly, the final result was not positive. When we asked why there was no result, they said there were no guarantees. They are taking advantage of desperate people who want children.

Stay away!!!! Absolutely awful experience and terrible billing team. I would give zero stars if I could. They overcharged me, and months later it is still unresolved. As a result, my FSA card was suspended because of unverified expenses. Every time I contact them, they say they are investigating, but after more than 20 exchanges it remains unresolved. I cannot get a refund or use the remaining funds in my FSA account. An absolutely awful situation to deal with. Never use them!!!! Dishonest business; they will do everything possible to deceive and pressure you! 😡😡😡😡

Our experience at Kindbody was wonderful. We loved all the practitioners, and although the journey was difficult, we felt supported every step of the way.

Kindbody truly helped me fulfill my dream of becoming a mother. As someone choosing to become a single mother, I worried that I would be judged or questioned, but that never happened at Kindbody. The expert care and very kind staff were extremely supportive. I would immediately recommend them to anyone trying to become pregnant. A big shout-out to the Kindbody Los Altos office and all its staff!

Honestly, IVF is not easy! But staying hopeful and knowing it takes time is half the battle. The other half is the people around you: family, friends, and the staff at Kindbody. The staff here, especially the nurses, ultrasound technicians, and phlebotomists, are second to none. They were so kind and supportive that they became my friends! It took time, but none of us lost hope. After nearly a year of hormone regulation, two egg retrievals, and two embryo transfers, I finally have a little miracle in my arms! Thank you all for making this possible. You are amazing.

Updated review: After I posted this review about my experience and medical findings, I was pleased that Dr. W messaged me and then called to debate me for 30 minutes, explaining why she believed endometrial testing lacked sufficient supporting evidence. This makes sense because when I was a patient and asked Dr. W to perform ERA/EMMA testing, she refused because there was not enough evidence. Therefore, I strongly caution anyone considering this clinic. They will not test you for anything in IVF medicine—such as ERA/EMMA or endometriosis—or anything else they believe lacks sufficient supporting evidence. I find it hard to believe that a clinic would not explore every avenue and rule out concerns with such testing. Testing does not provide 100% accurate results, but it can 1. eliminate possibilities, 2. open the door to further considerations if it is positive, and 3. give patients peace of mind that their doctor and clinic explored every possibility to help someone who has already endured so much achieve a successful journey. This review is long overdue. I was treated at Kindbody Los Altos for about 2 years. Their staff turnover is extremely high. The company clearly focuses more on opening additional facilities than on caring for its employees. Kindbody created a visually pleasing facility that is modern, airy, and bright. They focus mainly on the company's exterior while the substance is lacking. Communication—I absolutely dislike their communication. You cannot speak with someone at the office. You must call their customer service center, which then contacts the office on your behalf. When I first joined Kindbody, nurses and coordinators took a long time to respond. Even when medication was needed at a certain time, they left you anxiously waiting for instructions. Care—I was treated by Dr. W and Dr. J, who is no longer with Kindbody. They are kind when you speak with them. But when you invest so much time, energy, and money, you expect better care throughout the journey and an effort to identify the cause of your infertility. Example: After 3 failed transfers, Dr. W told me she needed to consult other Kindbody doctors because she was confused about why I could not become pregnant. You are the doctor, and you do not understand why I cannot become pregnant? She did not fully explore every option and diagnosis until she wanted to try a fourth transfer and put me on Lupron to suppress the endometriosis she now suspected. Why was endometriosis only suspected after 3 failed transfers? As my OB at the time, why did she not consider that I might have endometriosis? If endometriosis is your specialty, how can you not rule it out? Fast-forward from 2023 to late 2024. I had worked with an acupuncturist for more than 2 years and with a functional nutritionist. Both asked me to take the ReceptivaDX test for inflammation and possible endometriosis. Guess what? I tested positive for endometriosis! No one at Kindbody thought to explore whether I might have endometriosis. They truly failed in my care. I wasted my time, money, and energy with them. By the way, I encourage everyone to advocate for themselves, even if you remain with Kindbody. If you are diagnosed with “unexplained infertility,” I urge you to be tested for endometriosis. New research indicates that 50% of unexplained infertility is caused by endometriosis.

Donor agencies should never use Kindbody. They are deceptive: after you pay the account balance, they create a separate account for the donor and try to collect the same balance from them.

The billing department is terrible. They pretend to have lost records of your payments, forcing you to go to great lengths to confirm that invoices were paid. They also add extra charges. If you come here, be sure to obtain an itemized receipt confirming all charges and payments.

We are honored to write this review for Dr. Ramya Sethuram and the entire team at Kindbody Los Altos. Thanks to their attentive care, we are now proud parents of a beautiful three-week-old baby! From our first interaction, Kindbody Los Altos created an exceptionally calm and welcoming atmosphere. From the earliest to the final stages of our IVF journey, every staff member was remarkably kind and supportive. Dr. Sethuram was a beacon of positivity and help throughout this challenging process. We still remember our first Zoom consultation and how she guided us through every step. She was always there for us and even called personally to share the wonderful news that my wife was pregnant. Her dedication and empathy made this difficult journey feel manageable. We wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Sethuram to all couples seeking IVF treatment. Our experience was excellent, and we will always be grateful to her and Kindbody for helping us realize our dream of parenthood.

Update: When I originally wrote this review a week ago, I contacted customer service. The representative swore on the phone that he had personally escalated my issue and that it would definitely be resolved by May 23, last Friday. I still have not received my refund. No one from billing has followed up either. This is insane. Imagine dealing with this while undergoing fertility treatment. It is a nightmare. ______ Original review: Unbelievable. I paid out of pocket for a service covered by insurance. After receiving notice from my insurer that the service was indeed covered, I have spent more than a month trying to recover my money from Kindbody. So far, I have spent hours on the phone while Kindbody transferred me from one department to another, refused to provide any specific information, and gave no indication that they would issue a refund. Terrible experience. Given the cost of fertility treatment, do not come here unless you plan to pay for everything out of pocket. Fortunately, I only came for some preliminary lab tests, and I am glad I left this early.

This is a long-overdue and well-deserved review of Dr. Westphal and her entire team. We are now 8 weeks pregnant and could not be more grateful. After two egg retrievals and one transfer at Kindbody, our experience was very smooth. Our team included the most attentive, proactive, and responsible staff, and I felt they truly did everything possible to make our experience positive. The process is difficult and exhausting, and the staff understood this and treated us with great kindness and gentleness. Dr. Westphal is highly experienced. I immediately noticed that she never rushed our appointments. She spent ample time with us, explained everything thoroughly, listened, and answered every question. I trusted her completely and valued having someone whose years of expertise allowed me to let go of my need to control the process. That trust clearly served us well. The Los Altos team is exceptional. Once you experience these treatment cycles and understand their complexity, the many steps involved, and the coordination required for each patient, you appreciate their carefully organized work even more. Lori and the phlebotomy team made my many blood draws painless. Natalie, usually my sonographer, was warm and friendly, explained what she observed, and supported me during difficult treatment. Courtney was my nurse throughout and took excellent care of me during frightening moments, always calling before and after procedures to ensure I was well cared for. The anesthesiologist was also wonderful, joking with me and helping me feel comfortable as I entered the operating room. Dr. Westphal’s nursing team—Amy, Illy, Abby, and Brianna—never missed a detail through hundreds of interactions about medication and treatment protocols. When I wanted to change a protocol at the last minute, they worked hard to make it possible rather than simply refusing and making me wait weeks for another cycle. Finally, the PGT team was outstanding. KC and Genevieve answered all our genetic testing questions and gave me tremendous support during an emotional experience. Their nearly immediate portal replies relieved my anxiety more than they may realize. I also want to address negative billing reviews. I was fortunate to have a company-sponsored Kindbody cycle program that integrated seamlessly with my insurance. I sometimes had to follow up on apparently incorrect charges or incomplete information provided to the insurer. Insurance is extremely complex, and it seems unreasonable to expect perfect handling of every person’s unique situation and plan. Major medical services often require patient follow-up and advocacy, so I strongly recommend considering this before treatment. I never received false charges or unexpected bills after the fact. Before every treatment, I signed an agreement listing the estimated amount due. Fertility treatment is very stressful, and the emotional and financial pressure can be overwhelming. If you are considering Kindbody, do not let these reviews frighten you away. We will always be grateful to Kindbody for helping us build our family.

The Kindbody Los Altos clinic treated me exceptionally well! Dr. Westphal is knowledgeable and approachable. She is committed to providing patients with the best care. All the nurses, front desk staff, and sonographers were also very friendly. I would recommend Kindbody to anyone who needs help on their fertility journey!

If I could give 0, I would. Don’t waste your time and money. They’ll charge you for services you never had and don’t even want. It’s been months and the billing department still hasn’t figured out how to remove a simple claim. I will be contacting my lawyer if this doesn’t get resolved.

I had a wonderful experience at this clinic. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff were warm, friendly, professional, and very helpful with check-in and paperwork. They made the entire process smooth and stress-free. The clinical staff and doctors were equally outstanding—knowledgeable, patient, attentive, and clear in explaining everything. I never felt rushed and left confident in my care. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a caring and efficient team. We welcomed our son in December 2023 🫶🏼

I recently completed an egg retrieval at Kindbody Los Altos as a self-pay patient, and I am deeply grateful for the care I received. From the nurses, lab staff, and ultrasound technicians to the doctors, the entire team was supportive, responsive, and organized. Their platform made communication very easy; whenever I messaged or called, someone answered and genuinely helped. I was nervous on retrieval day, but everyone did their best to help me relax and feel safe. The procedure went smoothly, and I felt supported at every step. I highly recommend Kindbody Los Altos to anyone seeking fertility treatment or considering egg freezing.

I highly recommend this clinic. All the nurses and staff were kind, considerate, professional, and helpful. They explained everything clearly, answered all our questions, and put us at ease. Dr. Sethuram in particular patiently addressed every concern. We are very grateful for everything they did to help make our dream of having a child come true. Thank you so much!

My experience at Kindbody Los Altos was excellent from the first consultation. The doctor was patient and welcoming and took time to answer all my questions, immediately putting me at ease and giving me confidence in their care. I was initially unsure about the care model because I was used to seeing a doctor at every appointment, but I quickly came to understand Kindbody's approach. The sonographers, nurses, and phlebotomists made me feel comfortable and well cared for. The finance and administrative teams were also professional, kind, and helpful. Overall, I am very pleased with my experience at Kindbody Los Altos. The whole team felt like a warm hug. Thank you for everything.

I had a wonderful experience at Kindbody Los Altos. The clinic is warm and comfortable and feels more like a resort than a hospital. Everyone was friendly and responsive whenever I contacted the team. Most importantly, I am very grateful to Dr. Westphal and her team, whose skill helped our family grow. I highly recommend them to anyone considering IVF.

We have had a wonderful experience at Kindbody. My husband and I are undergoing IVF for genetic reasons, and I am now in my second stimulation cycle before egg retrieval. The first cycle went very well, producing two healthy embryos for transfer. Dr. Westphal recommended two embryos per cycle, so we decided to complete a second cycle before transfer. Everyone at the clinic has been kind and supportive, and I cannot express how grateful I am. Dr. Westphal is knowledgeable, compassionate, and patient and always makes time for our questions. The nurses, Lorie and Amy; sonographer, Mayra; and front desk staff all made us feel seen, heard, and understood. Some staff shared that they had also undergone IVF cycles. As a patient, working with people who truly understand is invaluable. My husband and I are very pleased with Kindbody and its care!

I walked into Kindbody thinking it was a spa, then learned it was a fertility clinic. To my surprise, the room was full of smiling staff. They were warm and friendly, especially a kind young woman named Amy. After she explained their services in detail, I will definitely try them in the near future.

This review is for billing team of kindbody. They are very late in applying initial paid amount and refunding after getting money from insurance. We did not get money back until december for visits in august. That too we have to ask, they did not process it themselves. When I complained to practice manager, she reassigned to senior billing team member who gave a generic response. She did not even apologize. They dont care about customer experience or even hearing out customer complaints. Very unprofessional

Kindbody Los Altos supported me tremendously throughout my fertility journey. My partner and I underwent reciprocal IVF with them in 2022, and our daughter was born on January 2, 2023. I will return to the clinic this year in hopes of completing an IVF cycle for our second child. I highly recommend this clinic and Dr. Westphal.

I had an excellent experience at Kindbody and highly recommend them! From day one, the entire team made me feel welcome, supported, and genuinely cared for. A fertility journey can be overwhelming, but the staff made everything organized and transparent, greatly reducing my stress. Special thanks to Dr. Setharum, who was extremely helpful throughout. She is knowledgeable, compassionate, and caring. She took time to understand my needs, ensured I understood every step, and made me feel like more than a patient. Her approach made all the difference and gave me confidence about the future. I especially appreciated Kindbody's communication and level of care. The team always kept me informed about next steps and timing and patiently answered my questions. I never felt rushed or overlooked. I will truly miss the staff. They made me feel like family and made the journey less lonely. I am happy to share that I am 9 weeks pregnant and will now transition to OB-GYN care. I could not have reached this point without their tremendous support. I am deeply grateful to the Kindbody team and Dr. Setharum and highly recommend them to anyone seeking professional, compassionate fertility care.

    May 28, 2026
My experience with Kindbody over the past two years has been extremely disappointing and physically and emotionally exhausting. In addition to recurring billing problems, many staff members were extremely rude and indifferent, and communication was highly unprofessional. I repeatedly received conflicting or incorrect information from different team members, making an already stressful fertility journey even harder. More concerning, I was sometimes given incorrect prescription instructions and contradictory guidance about cycle timing and medication. This repeatedly caused me to miss important treatment windows and cycles, resulting in delays and emotional distress. Ultimately, despite investing two years at this clinic, I achieved nothing. Fertility treatment requires precision, coordination, compassion, and trust. Unfortunately, my Kindbody experience was marked by administrative confusion, poor communication, and a lack of accountability. After everything I endured—physically, emotionally, and financially—I cannot recommend this clinic based on my experience.

Dr. Lynn Westphal and her team helped me build the little family I have today. Thank you so much!
    May 22, 2026
I strongly urge anyone considering treatment at Kindbody to think twice. My experience at this clinic over the past six months was extremely poor, both operationally and financially. Almost every aspect—scheduling, communication, billing, and clinical coordination—was highly disorganized. First, scheduling was chaotic. I was repeatedly scheduled at the clinic for bloodwork, only to be told afterward that I needed to go elsewhere for additional tests. What should have been one visit often became two or three separate appointments, each generating additional charges. The clinic also frequently scheduled unnecessary follow-ups lasting only one or two minutes but costing hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Second, the nursing staff were extremely unprofessional and inconsistent. In my experience, over 95% of patient questions either went unanswered or received incomplete and contradictory responses. Different nurses, Abby and Illi, frequently gave conflicting instructions about medications, timing, and treatment steps. One nurse would provide one protocol, while another would give completely different instructions later the same day. The nursing team appeared to lack coordination and consistency. Communication was also extremely unreliable. Nurses often disappeared without notice—whether on leave, out of the office, or no longer employed—without patients being informed beforehand. Timing is critical during fertility treatment and ovarian stimulation, so when a nurse gives strict instructions and then suddenly becomes unreachable, it causes tremendous stress and confusion. I was also deeply concerned about the handling of bloodwork and patient records. On one occasion, staff drew my blood even though the same test had been completed the previous day. After discovering the error, they discarded the sample without informing me. This degree of negligence and lack of transparency was shocking. Billing was another major problem. I continued receiving additional bills even after insurance or I had already paid. I was repeatedly charged more than once for the same appointment and had to audit every bill myself to identify duplicate charges. The scheduling administrator, Jessica, was also extremely unprofessional. If I missed a call, they called repeatedly, sometimes as late as 9:00 p.m., trying to schedule unnecessary appointments. When I explained that I did not need an appointment, they immediately hung up without listening or attempting to resolve the issue. Overall, my experience at this clinic was exhausting, highly stressful, and financially damaging. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend it. Fertility patients deserve organized care, clear communication, efficient coordination, and transparent billing—none of which I consistently received here.
