I wish I had read these reviews before going to RMA on my gynecologist's recommendation for an egg-freezing consultation. I visited RMA several times over about two months for testing as part of the consultation. The bottom line is that I would not recommend this clinic to anyone seeking any type of fertility care because of the administrative incompetence, condescension, and general apathy I experienced. The administrative team's behavior inspires no confidence that they can organize your care responsibly or with attention to detail. Seeking fertility care is stressful, emotional, and deeply personal. If you cannot trust that your care is organized appropriately, how could you trust that your eggs or embryos will be handled properly and responsibly? I would never trust this clinic with any medical procedure. Spare yourself a painful, confusing experience and seek care elsewhere.

The quality of medical care is truly first-rate, but the administration is almost laughable. Different nurses provide conflicting information, 'confirmed' appointments are not actually scheduled, resulting in multiple unnecessary trips, no one can be reached, and the staff seem unfamiliar with even basic healthcare services. It is unsurprising that this private-equity-owned medical practice treats patients like ATMs...

I had an excellent experience at RMA. They always responded promptly to my needs and were professional whether I called during office hours or after hours. My heartfelt thanks to Felicia, Jiselle, Tiana, Octavia, and all the front-desk and nursing staff for making my RMA journey so positive.

Amy and Lori are excellent communicators and supported us tremendously throughout the process! Kayla also made our experience wonderful. Dr. Setton was absolutely amazing!! Many thanks to the entire team.

RMA Brooklyn location has been incredible. Nurse Kayla is the best at drawing blood, so sweet and makes a scary process so quick and easy!

Lack of empathy: Except for Dr. Setton, who unfortunately was not my primary doctor, and several genuinely warm nurses in the transfer area, the medical staff were cold and uncaring. The kindness of those few staff members only highlighted the lack of compassion elsewhere. Warmth matters when patients are vulnerable. No follow-up after miscarriage: I miscarried after transfer but never received a call from a doctor or anyone on the medical team. There was no check-in or follow-up at all. Doctors were difficult to reach: After my D&C, it took almost two weeks to see a doctor. Meanwhile, my questions either waited for responses or received brief answers through the online messaging system, which cannot replace real communication for someone experiencing a miscarriage and trying to understand the next steps. Wait times: Even when I arrived on time, monitoring usually began 30-45 minutes late. If you arrive after 8 a.m., expect to wait over an hour. For patients already under the physical and emotional strain of fertility treatment, this felt deeply disrespectful of our time. Be prepared to spend what feels like forever in an overcrowded waiting room. Reception staff often seemed overwhelmed by excessive bookings. One-size-fits-all protocols and no weekend transfers: RMA does not perform frozen embryo transfers on weekends, apparently favoring medicated cycles because these allow the clinic, rather than the patient’s body, to control scheduling. If your body needs a natural or modified natural cycle, this creates major added stress. Instead of focusing on treatment, you anxiously monitor ovulation, hoping transfer can occur on a weekday. If you ovulate naturally and face male-factor infertility, this clinic may not suit you. I have changed clinics. Monitoring now takes under 10 minutes, and in one month I had more one-on-one contact with my doctor than during 5.5 months at RMA. RMA is an assembly line. I strongly recommend choosing another clinic.

Unfortunately, I can only give this clinic two stars, and the second is entirely for Dr. Jackson-Bey. She was the highlight of our experience. Based on her care alone, I would give five stars. Everything else was frustrating and disappointing. 1. Scheduling was disorganized. Appointments often did not specify their purpose, or staff asked why only after scheduling them. 2. The front desk was unprofessional, especially troubling in fertility care. Once, I approached for help but was abruptly interrupted and told another employee would assist me, although she was only using her phone. When I tried to speak, she interrupted and told me to write my name on a sticky note. After I did, she said nothing and did not look up until I asked whether I could leave. The encounter felt cold. Many patients here may have endured failed IVF cycles or miscarriages, so basic empathy and professionalism should be expected. 3. Insurance problems. My insurance covers IVF, but the clinic's authorization request was denied. I was told it had been sent to finance, but I never heard back. 4. Genetic testing error. My husband and I both gave blood, but his sample was somehow never sent to the laboratory. We waited over six weeks to learn of the error. Because testing itself takes about three weeks, this delayed treatment another month and a half. We later went to another fertility clinic and noticed the difference from the first visit. The experience was more organized and reassuring. Given the importance and emotional strain of fertility care, I strongly advise doing thorough research before choosing this clinic.

This is the best place I have ever visited! Every staff member was warm, friendly, and caring—from reception, phlebotomy, finance, nurses, coordinators, and embryology to everyone else. Scheduling was easy, and everything ran on time. My doctor was Dr. Rachel Danis, and I cannot thank her enough! Dr. Danis is the best. She is thoughtful, understanding, and kind. I even enjoyed getting up early to see her! The other doctors at the clinic also seemed very approachable. Thank you, RMA Brooklyn, for putting so much care into every patient!

***STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLINIC*** The financial and emotional distress they cause is worse than the stress of IVF itself. I genuinely believe the stress they create can affect the success of your fertility treatment. Despite having dual insurance coverage and paying all my out-of-pocket costs, they charged me more than $26,000, and the amount keeps growing. I was discharged over two months ago, yet they continue automatically charging my card on file for services I never paid for. In 2026 alone, they sent me a $1,000 bill for services from 2024. The entire billing team, including senior leadership, is extremely incompetent and unhelpful. They claim to be investigating my case but keep delaying the “investigation” while continuing to charge my credit card and make the situation worse.

I have been dealing with RMA for a year and a half, and I came here to find many people with similarly terrible experiences. I am very glad I only completed the initial consultation and did not continue, because they are clearly a heartless company. In September 2024, a friend referred me to RMA. I knew my insurance did not cover fertility treatment, so before my first appointment I asked many questions, including what the $525 fee covered and how treatment worked. I was told it was a fixed $525 fee covering everything. My appointment with Tia Jackson-Bey felt extremely unprofessional. She seemed completely indifferent to me and my situation and instead tried to sell me expensive IVF treatment throughout the visit. I know IVF is costly, but she appeared not to care about me or my feelings. During the ultrasound, she told me I did not actually have ovarian cysts and probably never had, shrugging dismissively despite several previous diagnoses. She also said the pain and ruptured cysts I had experienced for years might never have happened and that the dark spots on the ultrasound were merely follicles. After this terrible visit, I waited in their waiting room for a blood draw. Tia came out and told me the blood tests would cost about $2,000 if done there. She said my insurance would cover them if I stopped at Quest Diagnostics on my way home. I went to Quest and explicitly told the phlebotomist that I did not want any test that insurance would not cover. She said I would only need to pay a $25 copay and that this would cover everything. I repeatedly confirmed this. When bills began arriving for the appointments, I found an unexplained $37.50 charge, a $275 ultrasound charge, and a $2,300 Quest blood-testing bill in addition to the $525 visit fee. I immediately called RMA billing, and they told me that because I was self-pay, the extra charges would be removed and I would owe only $525. They also said they would contact Quest about the blood-testing bill. For a year and a half, however, my emails have gone unanswered, and calls to RMA often involve waits of two and a half hours followed by promises of a callback within 24–72 hours. Their billing department is nearly impossible to reach. When I do reach someone, I am told only a financial coordinator named John can correct my bill. John was the first person I contacted after the visit, and he told me he would adjust my bill to the $525 self-pay rate. Since our last call and email, he has disappeared. No one in the office can tell me his working hours or provide a way to contact him; they only say he will adjust the bill as promised. I have spent far too much time and energy on this terrible company, leaving me feeling helpless and vulnerable. When I called today, I asked the woman in billing how she would handle my case. She said she was also unsure and could only escalate it again and have me wait for a callback. I said I did not want to hang up until I spoke to a real person and asked whether a manager or John's manager was available. She put me on hold several times, saying she was looking for someone to speak with me, but ultimately only promised a callback within 24–72 hours. All the bills have now been sent to collections, and there appears to be no way to resolve them. Do not subject yourself to the anger and frustration caused by this terrible organization. If anyone who is able can help us, please let us know, because this has caused enormous emotional and financial harm to people who were already vulnerable.

I had an excellent experience freezing my eggs with Dr. Dennis at RMA Brooklyn. She was thorough, thoughtful, and meticulous at every step. Everyone at the Brooklyn office was also very kind and efficient and respected my time. I highly recommend RMA Brooklyn to anyone considering fertility preservation or reproductive care.

A friend recommended RMA Eastside after a good experience, so I chose the RMA Brooklyn location near my home. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Danis was very disappointing. At my first visit, Dr. Danis wore a red vest, which felt unprofessional. She did not listen carefully to my medical concerns, focusing instead on my occupation and repeatedly promoting IVF while ignoring the original reason for my visit. The ultrasound and bloodwork were supposed to be included in the initial consultation. Because I had to leave early, I specifically asked whether I could return another day to complete them and whether there would be an additional charge. She clearly said no and emphasized that they were included. A week later, before the blood draw, I specifically requested an additional genetic test. Dr. Danis had me sign paperwork related to genetic testing, implying that she would arrange and complete it. A month later, however, I was told that the blood test had never been done or even started. I then received a bill from the financial department. After repeated attempts to resolve it, I was told that Dr. Danis was “wrong” and that I should not have followed her advice about the out-of-pocket cost. It is very concerning that a patient is penalized for following a doctor’s instructions. They offered to have me return and complete the missed bloodwork for free, but I had completely lost trust in the organization. Worse, this morning they enabled automatic payment in my patient portal without my consent and charged my copay. Overall, the experience was disorganized, unprofessional, and frustrating. I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend this organization based on my experience.

My experience at RMA was very disappointing, mainly because of poor administrative and insurance coordination rather than the medical care itself. First IUI cycle: My bloodwork and monitoring appointments were scheduled in advance, but the clinic failed to obtain prior insurance authorization. I did not discover that coverage had not been approved until after I took time off work and completed the blood draw. This wasted a visit and my time and caused unnecessary stress. Second cycle: The process was never explained clearly. I had to call the pharmacy and insurer repeatedly to push through approval for the stimulation injections because no one proactively guided me. After my ultrasound, they also failed to give me a semen collection container, forcing me to return to the clinic. After the first IUI failed: The clinic called once, but unfortunately I missed it. I returned the call several times, but no one contacted me again. When scheduling my next cycle, I specifically reminded the team to obtain insurance authorization in advance. Despite this, it was not completed. When I arrived for the required bloodwork on cycle day 3, I was again told that insurance had not approved it—another wasted trip. Overall: The doctors are professional and competent, but the front desk and financial/insurance teams are inefficient, disorganized, and poor communicators. In an already physically and emotionally draining process, patients should not have to keep chasing basic administrative steps. The lack of coordination caused repeated delays, unnecessary appointments, and substantial wasted time. I hope the clinic improves its administrative workflow, because this inefficiency adds needless stress to an already difficult journey.

It took me a long time to write this review because I wanted to move on. I suffered PTSD afterward, but after meeting someone who had a similar consultation with the same doctor, I felt obligated to share my experience so others can make an informed decision. We chose RMA Brooklyn for its convenience and multiple NYC locations. We consulted with Dr. Lekovich, who was friendly but very straightforward about our age and the likelihood of multiple cycles. The facility was new and close to home, and I assumed this would be a fairly simple process. Red flags appeared early. Daily bloodwork often meant waiting close to an hour with no timeframe provided. After the initial consultation, I rarely saw my doctor, only once during the nearly 10 day process. After my egg retrieval, I fainted at home. My husband called RMA multiple times asking what to do, but only nurses responded, saying I just needed to hydrate. He ultimately took me to the ER, where I was diagnosed with internal bleeding and required emergency surgery. The ER doctor told us they could not reach anyone at RMA and called the situation “despicable.” No one from RMA assisted, followed up, or offered any apology. While Dr. Lekovich was aware of the situation, it almost felt like the clinic as a whole had no idea what was happening. Nurses contacted us during recovery only to discuss routine next steps for the IVF procedure, but no one from the hospital reached out to check on me, offer comfort, or explain the emergency. If a patient nearly lost her life, you would expect the clinic to proactively reach out, but we had to contact them ourselves just to understand why this happened. When we finally spoke with Dr. Lekovich by phone, she stated that this type of complication occurs about one in every 5,000 cases at RMA. We were stunned. This was never disclosed beforehand and was framed as unfortunate but not her responsibility. After switching to a different hospital, our experience was completely different. Although the commute was slightly longer, they had a Brooklyn satellite office for simple check-ins, wait times under five minutes, and doctors and nurses who were attentive and communicative. I always saw my assigned doctor or was notified if they could not meet in person. To this day, I still do not know the exact cause of what nearly cost me my life. I feel obligated to warn others. NYC has many excellent IVF programs, and you do not need to settle for a place where patient care disappears the moment you are no longer an “easy” case. IVF may be a two-week process or a long and difficult journey. Choose your provider carefully. I sincerely hope RMA is not the one you choose.

I found Dr. Setton through my insurance directory because of his high ratings. The positives: Dr. Setton himself is excellent. He is kind, understanding, and knowledgeable. He believed I could become pregnant through IUI and supported me during a vulnerable time. The drawbacks: Communication and response times were inconsistent. Sometimes the nurses and staff responded very quickly; other times, they were slow. After IUI, they did not proactively schedule an IVF consultation in case it failed, which could have caused me to miss a treatment cycle. Care coordination and insurance guidance were inadequate. I ultimately became pregnant after taking letrozole prescribed by the clinic, despite previously saying I intended to try a “natural cycle.” While waiting for the IVF consultation, I had to contact another clinic in my state to avoid losing another month. After the IVF consultation, I learned that my insurance actually required at least three IUI cycles before covering IVF. Billing and prior authorization problems were extremely difficult. The billing department was hard to reach and slow to respond. My husband was asked to provide a sample to the Center for Reproductive Diagnostics without prior authorization. After testing, we were told to contact the insurer ourselves and submit forms retroactively. When we asked about the missing authorization, no one responded until I submitted a negative survey. Even then, the submission date and CPT code were wrong. As a result, we now face higher laboratory charges that insurance should have covered. The sample was collected on June 30, 2025, and it is now December, yet the issue remains unresolved despite repeated emails and calls. The billing and authorization departments are deeply disappointing. This was the fourth fertility clinic I consulted while seeking treatment for secondary infertility. Although Dr. Setton is highly skilled, administrative, billing, and coordination problems significantly harmed our experience.

I went to this clinic hoping my experience would differ from the many similar online reviews. Unfortunately, it did not. Communication was terrible from the start. Despite repeated promises of a callback, calls went unanswered for days. My husband even visited the clinic in person, only for the head nurse to say his presence was “disruptive” and that this “efficiently run clinic” might not be right for us. It was nearly impossible to reach the doctor directly, and the nurses often gave conflicting information. After my failed IUI, the clinic offered no apology, compassion, or follow-up. In the next cycle, I completed lab work and was told a nurse would call to discuss the next steps. Only the finance department called; no nurse ever contacted me. Ultimately, they said they would stop monitoring me because insurance approval might not arrive in time and I did not want to self-pay, even though my cycle had already begun and I had completed lab work days earlier. This clinic does not prioritize patient care or communication. Doctors are almost impossible to reach, calls go unanswered, and billing is the only department that responds promptly. The clinic seems to respond only to positive Google reviews while ignoring negative ones, all of which identify the same issues: unresponsiveness, poor communication, and lack of care. It operates like an assembly line and provides a heartbreaking patient experience. I strongly recommend considering another clinic to avoid adding pain to an already difficult process.

A complete waste of time and money. A month of emails with no response. Such poor service for something so important to us. More than $300 wasted on these incompetent people.
    Dec 13, 2025
I wish I could give zero stars. I arrived on time for a confirmed appointment, only to learn at the front desk that it had been moved to a distant location without notifying me. What a waste of time and money! To avoid disappointment, find a more professional healthcare provider.

The disorganization was shocking and especially concerning for a medical facility. At my first appointment, the doctor called expecting me to be in the waiting room, although it was supposed to be a virtual visit. I needed a receipt for employer reimbursement, and it took 5 emails, 4 phone calls, and 3 weeks to receive it. I received a bill for a copay I had already paid. When I called, they said my account had a 'credit' for exactly the same amount I supposedly owed... What?? I scheduled a meeting with a financial counselor who did not attend, yet I still received an automated survey asking about the call. There were numerous spam emails and lengthy online forms to complete. Most concerning, when I went for an examination, other patients' names and dates of birth were visible on a computer screen in the exam room. Needless to say, I will not receive treatment there. I strongly advise against this place because your personal information may be exposed.

Enough time has passed, and my wife and I successfully conceived at another clinic, so I can discuss my experience at RMA. I would never recommend it. Fertility treatment is already stressful, expensive, and daunting; the way we were treated made it worse. If you are plus-size or in an interracial relationship, this is not the place for you. My wife scheduled examinations and testing for both of us, although the plan was for me to provide the eggs and carry the pregnancy. We told them I am afraid of doctors, which raises my blood pressure, and that I did not want to be weighed unless absolutely necessary. The nurses were kind. When my blood pressure rose again, they gave me time to calm down and adjust, and said I did not need to be weighed. When the doctor entered, she completely contradicted them and forced me to be weighed. This made me so anxious that they could not obtain my blood pressure because it was too high; later that day at my primary care physician's office, it was a normal 113/72. More than a month passed before we spoke with the doctor again. During that time, a nurse called with measurements for both of us but offered no explanation. We were left on our own for over a month and eventually turned to Google for answers. The nurse also noted that my blood pressure was lower than my wife's and suggested that she carry the pregnancy. We are an interracial couple and had clearly stated that, unless absolutely impossible, we wanted to try using my eggs as the person of color. When we finally spoke with the doctor, after they had taken our money and insurance payment, she discussed my weight and said I needed to lose a great deal before the procedure, information never mentioned earlier that could have been addressed while we were in the office. She then tried to pressure us to use my wife instead of me, disregarding both our wishes and the racial concerns we raised. We were devastated and furious. Thankfully, we found another clinic that communicated with care and sincerity, listened to our wishes and concerns, and worked with us to create our dream family. I am saddened that we wasted time and energy at such a heartbreaking, fatphobic, and uncaring place.

For now, this review concerns only their communication. Before Shady Grove and RMA merged, I was Dr. Setton's patient. I liked Dr. Setton but disliked Shady Grove's administration. RMA's administration is even worse. Getting any response from them is like pulling teeth. I do not understand why communication is so poor when I am emailing about another embryo transfer, which would earn them more money. It is almost as though they do not want... money? Very strange. Update: Unfortunately, I must add to my previous negative review. RMA's communication is terrible. In short, it took them more than a week to provide what should have been simple, routine information about insurance coverage for a specialty medication. They kept putting me off and made it seem as though my insurance might cover it. I am not upset that it was not covered; I am disappointed that RMA took so long to determine this. It significantly delayed my access to the medication. The reality is that I am older—really too old to waste time while trying to conceive. I hear the clock ticking almost every day. For a company devoted entirely to helping people become pregnant, they take an exceptionally long time to respond to time-sensitive issues. My opinion of Dr. Setton remains unchanged: he is excellent and the only reason I came to RMA.
    Oct 28, 2025
My egg retrieval experience was excellent, and the medical team was professional, attentive, and first-rate. However, the experience with the financial department was extremely disappointing. Although I prepaid for two years of egg storage and have receipts, someone contacts me every six months demanding additional payment. It is also nearly impossible to reach anyone in finance for clarification. Unfortunately, these persistent billing problems have seriously tarnished an otherwise wonderful experience.

I wish I could give zero stars. Fertility care should not be this difficult. I rarely leave reviews, but sharing my experience is important so others can make informed choices. My time at RMA Brooklyn was deeply disappointing and physically and emotionally exhausting. Communication was extremely poor. I worked with Dr. Dennis's team and went days without updates, even after my period was delayed. I often had to pursue information and advocate for myself at every step. There were multiple administrative errors, including mishandled documents and financial mistakes. I even arrived for a scheduled appointment only to be told my cycle was not ready to begin. The front desk staff were consistently curt and cold, adding unnecessary stress to an already difficult process. Although the doctors were polite, appointments felt rushed and impersonal. Treatment seemed to follow a rigid, one-size-fits-all protocol rather than an individualized plan. There was little counseling or emotional support, leaving me largely to navigate the process alone. Fertility treatment is already emotional, and this clinic made it harder than necessary. I truly wish I had gone elsewhere. Every passing month felt like a missed opportunity.

Dr. Setton is highly knowledgeable and very approachable. RMA is an excellent resource for those considering pregnancy and IVF. Our baby is now 4 months old and healthy. Thank you to RMA for the excellent work!

They charged me hundreds of dollars without ever providing any service.
    Jul 29, 2025
Although I ultimately cannot complain about the medical care we received, because the treatment plan worked for us, I have to write this review because our experience with the finance department at RMA Brooklyn was extremely frustrating. The clinical staff were generally welcoming, and my doctor was both professional and friendly. However, the clinic's administrative side, especially the finance team, left much to be desired. To receive reimbursement for treatment through my husband's employer, we needed itemized receipts after each visit. We contacted the finance department almost weekly to explain the situation and request these documents. Although we sometimes had to send multiple follow-up emails, they eventually provided the receipts, which frankly should have been very straightforward. The real issue began before my embryo transfer. We received a $1430 bill and immediately paid it by check. A few days later, when I returned for a follow-up, I saw an outstanding balance in my online account. Believing the portal had been updated and worried about delaying treatment, I paid again at check-in. We later realized that we had been charged twice for the same treatment cycle. We immediately contacted the finance department to resolve the duplicate charge. To be clear, I am now 14 weeks pregnant, and this happened before my embryo transfer. We have sent 10 emails, but the finance coordinator's only response was that “he had brought this to the attention of the team lead in the PCS department.” We have heard nothing since. We never receive an update unless we follow up 2-3 times. This is incredibly frustrating, not only because we still have not received a refund or an explanation for why this seems so complicated, but because no one has acknowledged the error or taken responsibility. For a clinic serving emotionally vulnerable patients, this level of disregard is unacceptable. Calling it “poor customer service” would be a serious understatement.

Dr. Setton at RMA is a genius. I previously had five failed transfers of chromosomally normal embryos with another doctor! With him as my doctor, I became pregnant after the first transfer. Because I had conceived naturally before, he deliberately reduced my medication and placed me on a “natural cycle.” It worked miraculously well. His bedside manner is incredible; I always felt comfortable with him. He also understands the entire IVF process because he and his wife went through it themselves. I highly recommend Dr. Setton to everyone, especially anyone who has experienced failures and is losing hope. He is the right person for the job!

I should have paid attention to the negative reviews of this place, because I cannot imagine the positive ones are genuine. If you come here expecting better treatment and care because it is a private clinic, think again. They barely explain which tests you need or why. When I questioned the rationale for unnecessary additional testing that I had already completed elsewhere, neither the nurse nor the doctor could provide a clear, logical answer. It is evident that they do not prioritize the patient experience, fail to listen to patients or document information properly, and are disorganized. They cannot use or facilitate the use of prior medical care and information to make care decisions, which is a basic requirement of a healthcare facility. As providers, they are also responsible for explaining the rationale for tests and procedures, but the doctor did not take the time to do so. They do not meet the basic standards of a medical facility. I would never entrust my health to this organization. I question the intelligence of the doctors here.

I cannot thank Dr. Setton and the entire RMA New York team enough. From day one, Dr. Setton treated me with compassion, honesty, and unmatched professionalism. He listened carefully, explained every step, and supported me throughout the process. I am now 15 weeks pregnant, and I will always be grateful to Dr. Setton and the entire RMA staff for making this possible. Their care and dedication changed my life. Highly recommended!

I am deeply disappointed with my experience at RMA Fertility. Because of their poor communication, my IVF cycle was canceled and I lost the opportunity to use my insurance for IVF, a heartbreaking and costly setback. They later told me they would cover the cost of the IUI cycle, but they have now contacted me and charged me for it. The experience left me physically and emotionally exhausted, and the staff's lack of accountability and clear communication made it worse. For a clinic handling something as sensitive and life-changing as fertility treatment, I expected better care and transparency. I would not recommend RMA to anyone seeking fertility care, especially those relying on insurance or hoping for honest, supportive guidance during such a vulnerable process.

Dr. Setton helped me become pregnant at 41, which was everything I had dreamed of! When I first saw him, I was experiencing unexplained health problems after a miscarriage. I had already seen two other doctors and a naturopath, but none could determine what was wrong. Dr. Setton diagnosed and treated me immediately! He is always smiling and optimistic. I highly recommend Dr. Setton and his team at RMA Brooklyn.

I am giving two stars because the billing and finance department is an absolute nightmare. The first time I called, they said I could use my insurance only if “I had been diagnosed with cancer.” That was completely wrong, and I had to advocate relentlessly for myself and explain my coverage to them. Almost eight months after the procedure, I began receiving unexplained claim bills even though my insurance covers 100% after the deductible. I tried contacting them several times by phone and email to obtain more claim details so I could contact my insurer, but I received no response. I have now received a notice from a collection agency. I will dispute it, and if RMA does not respond to my final request and withdraw the collection, I will report them to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Better Business Bureau (BBB), and state attorney general's office. The medical care was good. Unfortunately, I believe they neglected another crucial aspect of healthcare: affordability.

We had a wonderful experience at RMA. Dr. Danis is a caring, kind, knowledgeable, and outstanding doctor ♥. Nurse Dara Berg, whom I never had the opportunity to meet in person, is also a kind and caring staff member. I cannot say enough good things about this clinic. Highly recommended. Wonderful! I had an excellent experience during fertility treatment, and everyone was outstanding. From Dr. Tia Jackson to Dr. Sutton, they were especially warm and attentive to me as a woman of color undergoing this procedure for the first time. All the staff went above and beyond and communicated seamlessly about medications, appointments, postoperative care, and more. Highly recommended! I also appreciated the shorter wait times for all treatments. Highly recommended! I felt safe, valued, and respected.

Dr. Setton and his team at RMA Brooklyn, New York—Sarah, Ada, Kaila, and others—were simply incredible throughout our IVF journey. It was not an easy road, and there were moments of doubt, but they never gave up on us. They were always transparent, provided clear guidance, responded incredibly well to my millions of questions and emails, and offered support and empathy. Their positivity and encouragement helped us remain hopeful during difficult times. Thanks to their dedication, expertise, and genuine care, we finally reached graduation day. We will always be grateful for everything they did and highly recommend them to anyone facing an IVF journey.

Primary care team: My primary doctor was Dr. Danis. Whenever she performed my scans, she tried to be personable and make me comfortable. However, she failed to keep me informed about many aspects of treatment, which mattered more to me than small talk. For example, after I learned my insurance had approved my embryo transfer, her team scheduled monitoring, but I had to ask Dr. Danis and her nurses, Rachel Dreznin and Alivia Weinstein, what came next. If I had not advocated for myself, I would have known nothing about my treatment. Alivia in particular became impatient when I asked follow-up questions. For example, no one told me where my embryos were stored, which is important in itself. When I asked Alivia, she snapped that they were ‘obviously at RMA.’ In another example, when I asked nurse Rachel how much longer I would need treatment after a successful embryo transfer, she said ‘another month’ and provided no details until I continued asking follow-up questions, which clearly annoyed her. Other staff: At RMA, scans are often performed by other doctors. Some I saw, such as Dr. Lekovich and Dr. Jackson-Bey, were very kind and knowledgeable. However, I saw two fellows, Dr. Bayefsky and Dr. Ghofranian, who were very unfriendly and disrespectful toward patients and caregivers. Their incompetence was so severe that at the end of the scan, the nurse and I exchanged looks expressing disbelief at how poor these doctors were at patient-centered care. Their conduct should be flagged. Monitoring: Dr. Danis's team was very disorganized in scheduling monitoring appointments. The most frustrating scheduling failure occurred when I asked Dr. Danis whether one pregnancy monitoring appointment could be scheduled on Sunday so my husband could attend the ultrasound. She immediately said yes, as though it were no problem. However, when we arrived Sunday, she passive-aggressively noted that Sundays are generally not appropriate for pregnancy monitoring and that my next appointment had to be Thursday. How were we supposed to know that? I came alone the following Thursday and waited 50 minutes for another doctor to perform my scan because Dr. Danis had scheduled poorly and was in surgery. My husband missed hearing the baby's heartbeat for the first time. Finance department/insurance billing: As many other reviews note, RMA is very opaque about billing. It took three months to obtain an itemized bill from their financial coordinator. When I received it, I realized they had overcharged me by more than $5,000. They labeled this a ‘credit’ and said it would be refunded if my deductible/out-of-pocket costs did not use it by the end of treatment. My treatment has ended and I have been discharged, but I have not heard from financial coordinators Jonathan Carrasco or Danielle Weimar about my refund. I have also never heard of ‘medical credit’; it is clearly a way to avoid admitting they overcharged me. This is another example of having to advocate for yourself at RMA. If I had not requested an itemized bill, I might never have learned about the credit. I also expressed my frustration to Dr. Danis, who told me to ‘be more patient,’ the most condescending and unrealistic thing she said during my care. In summary, this office will get you where you need to go, but they will overcharge you, inadequately explain your care, and force you to do your own research and self-advocacy during an already extremely difficult and physically demanding process.

Dr. Lekovich was recommended by my OB-GYN, which was one reason I chose RMA Brooklyn, along with its convenient location. Overall, Dr. Lekovich was very direct in handling my procedure. However, I especially want to highlight her team, particularly fertility coordinator Aster Disbrow, who was highly responsive and attentive throughout my treatment. I felt I could truly rely on her for the answers I needed, especially when I was unable to reach the head of the financial team for nearly two weeks to obtain a receipt. Aster stepped in as a mediator and helped resolve the issue, going beyond her role when she could have ignored me because it was not her responsibility. I am also very grateful for her guidance during treatment. She was kind and helpful, which meant a great deal to both my husband and me.
