When I first called Shady Grove Fertility to begin our fertility journey, I never imagined that the person who answered would become such an important part of our lives. That person was Vanessa. At the time, Vanessa was helping at Dr. Griffith's office, but from our first call, she became one of the people closest to me. Through every step of our journey—the highs and lows, the waiting, uncertainty, and celebration—Vanessa was always there for us. Her kindness, compassion, encouragement, and genuine care made even our hardest days a little easier. More than a year and a half has passed since that first call, and today we are overjoyed to hold our miracle boy in our arms. Vanessa was our steadfast support throughout the journey. She is no longer simply someone who helped us through the challenges of treatment; she has become family. Everyone needs someone like Vanessa in their life. She has a kind heart and always makes you feel seen, heard, and cared for when you need it most. I cannot say enough good things about my experience at Shady Grove-TMC! I was previously a patient of Dr. Shah at the Woodlands office, but this medical center was closer to my home, so I went there for all my monitoring! Everyone made us feel so comfortable and safe. Honestly, we could not have made it through without these ladies; they played such an important role throughout our journey! Amber at the front desk knew us by name and was always so friendly. We absolutely loved her warm personality. Whitney, the medical assistant, always made sure all our questions were answered, and her warm, friendly manner made us feel like family. Then there is Ishia, the phlebotomist. If you need blood drawn, she is absolutely the person to see. Every blood draw was painless, and she always remembered that I used the other arm! After graduating from the clinic, we went back to celebrate with these ladies because they had such a profound impact on our lives. We cannot wait for our baby to be born and to introduce him to them! Shady Grove-TMC, 11/10! Highly recommended! No complaints whatsoever! Thank you for helping us make our dream come true!

I am a proud veteran who was referred to this clinic four or five months ago. Every time my menstrual cycle began, all testing had been completed, and the medications had been ordered, they would skip steps and postpone my procedure. They did this only to increase costs for the VA and me instead of actually proceeding with IUI/IVF. I lost not only money but also patience and time. I genuinely longed to experience the joy of motherhood for the first time, but they deprived me of that hope and happiness for months. I will never return to this fertility clinic and advise the VA and other veterans to reconsider choosing it as the place to begin your family-building journey. I am extremely disappointed.

We owe our beautiful baby boy to Dr. O'Hearn. My case was extremely challenging—severe endometriosis, advanced maternal age, and inconsistent ovarian function—but she never gave up on me. She is highly skilled and compassionate, taking time to explain everything clearly and thoroughly, address all my questions and concerns, and ensure I understood every step of treatment. I never felt rushed, and she genuinely listened. The entire clinic team was equally outstanding. Everyone was kind, welcoming, and professional, making each visit pleasant. Fertility treatment can be an emotional journey, and having such a compassionate, knowledgeable team makes all the difference. I am deeply grateful for the care I received and highly recommend Dr. O’Hern and the entire Shady Grove Fertility team to anyone seeking a supportive and skilled fertility team. Today I said a bittersweet goodbye to this amazing team, taking a piece of their friendship with me. Dr OHern and her team made my dream of becoming a mother a reality. I always felt listened to and validated here. The staff were always so kind. Appointments never took longer than necessary. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Shady Grove. I also had the privilege to have procedures done at another location by Dr Bruno and Shah. Melody was also an incredible nurse that assisted during these.

I have been coming here for about a year. Amber, Whitney, Tiffany, Liz, and Dr. O’Hern are all warm and friendly. That is especially important when dealing with fertility concerns.

We really like Dr. O'Hern, and the nurses and technicians provided satisfactory service at every clinic visit. On the two occasions we called the nurses, they were friendly and somewhat helpful, but their information contradicted itself after each call. SGF's “communication” about timing, coordination, scheduling, and expectations is terrible. It is nearly impossible to schedule an appointment by phone, and getting a clear answer from SGF about when testing, collection, or procedures will occur is almost impossible. Our timeline was repeatedly delayed because SGF left gaps in information and only provided critical timing details weeks later. It is impossible to overstate how poor SGF's communication is. They send bills quickly but are abysmal at communication. Not recommended. …… This medical center location has notable environmental and hygiene problems. Parking is inconvenient. The blood draw room is cluttered with papers and files and does not look like a medical facility. Some staff wore hoodies rather than scrubs, and their manner and appearance seemed unprofessional. [However, the two women who performed my ultrasounds were warm, friendly, and professional, and wore scrubs. They were the only bright spot in my experience.] When I used the restroom, the soap was almost gone and had to be poured from a nearly empty bottle because the pump had been removed and discarded to get the last bit of soap out. That might be acceptable in a gas station restroom, but it is not something you want to see in a doctor's office. …… Given the emotional and financial toll of this process, my husband and I are very disappointed with everything except Dr. O'Hern, whom we like very much. It is now too late to change doctors. We hope SGF resolves these issues appropriately and will update this review afterward.

I had an excellent experience at this clinic. Dr. O'Hern and her team were outstanding and made me feel exceptionally well cared for from beginning to end. The egg retrieval center staff were equally wonderful—kind, attentive, and considerate, providing tremendous support during an emotionally difficult process. Special thanks to nurse Brittany, who was exceptional, and Amber at the front desk, who always greeted every visitor with a smile and made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived. Everyone here genuinely cares about patients, which meant so much to me.

The biggest issue is that if your provider requires authorization, they will not contact you proactively. They also do not respond to emails.

The medical care was excellent. Dr. Shah, his nurses, and the front desk staff were kind, professional, and highly supportive throughout my treatment. Clinically, I felt very well cared for and am extremely grateful that my baby was delivered safely. (Photo attached) However, my experience with billing and the finance department was entirely different. My out-of-pocket costs exceeded my insurance reimbursement, even though my assisted reproductive technology coverage was over $30,000. I was charged twice for embryo storage, and other services were also overbilled. Resolving these issues was extremely difficult. I called and emailed financial counselor Elizabeth Rodriguez multiple times but received no response. Because the charges did not match the final insurance statement, our FSA card was frozen, adding further strain to an already stressful pregnancy. Mine was a high-risk pregnancy, and we needed the FSA card for maternal-fetal medicine visits, but we first had to repay the $500 paid to this clinic before we could use the card. This meant paying twice for the service again. The medical team deserves praise, but the financial side needs major improvements in transparency, accuracy, and responsiveness. I hope this feedback helps improve the overall patient experience, because the medical care itself was truly excellent. Thank you, Dr. Shah and team. You helped us receive our greatest blessing!

I contacted this clinic because I am considering IVF with my current husband. After my previous marriage ended, I had a bilateral salpingectomy because I had decided not to have more children. I have since changed my mind, and my husband and I want a child. The clinic left me a voicemail asking me to call back. When I did, I began asking about the IVF process, including the approximate timeline from ovarian stimulation medications to embryo transfer. The woman who answered mumbled her name, so I could not hear it clearly, but I believe it was Jennifer. Apart from pricing, she refused to answer any questions. After I said, "Okay, thank you," she immediately hung up before I could ask anything else. She did not ask whether I had more questions or even say goodbye. I had wanted to pursue IVF at this clinic, but based on that call, I felt they did not care about me and that it would be a poor experience. As someone who has donated eggs twice and served as a surrogate twice for other families, I expected the call to be more personal and reassuring. She could have answered my questions more helpfully instead of dismissing me and providing only the price. Based on our previous reading and research, we were nearly ready to schedule a consultation and begin treatment here. Now they will not even be among our final ten clinic choices.

Excellent fertility clinic! I was impressed by their standard of care. From the front desk and financial staff to the phlebotomists and doctors, everyone was kind, professional, and highly supportive throughout. Nurses Liz and Brittany were especially helpful and made everything smooth and stress-free. My doctor, Dr. O'Hearn, provided outstanding care, and we are very grateful to her. I highly recommend this clinic!

Unfortunately, I could not get past the initial questions to schedule an appointment. Fertility can be difficult and sensitive for some people. I found the clinic staff impatient and rude; attitude is clear from tone of voice. I spoke with a doctor at another nearby fertility clinic and had a completely different, much more pleasant experience.

After years of infertility, we finally decided to begin fertility treatment. Dr. O'Hearn and her team provided excellent diagnosis and treatment for our infertility, and our first embryo transfer was successful! Now, as I hold my newborn, I cannot help reflecting on everything the clinic did to help us have a child. Without SGF, he would not be here today. Thank you all for your help! I am deeply grateful!

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. O’hern and her team at SGF. I highly recommend her when choosing a fertility doctor. When my husband and I decided it was time to begin our fertility journey, Dr. O’hern and her team helped us through every step. Dr. O’hern took time to address my concerns and explained my options with honesty and compassion. After meeting with her, I always felt comfortable with my decisions. Our second IUI cycle resulted in pregnancy. Dr. O’hern and her team were very supportive during both IUI cycles. I had many questions throughout the process, and no matter how many messages I left, her nurses Brittany and Taylor always responded. I always felt well cared for. Everyone at SGF Medical Center was consistently welcoming, and I never felt uncomfortable.

Dr. O’Hern gave me the best HSG and SIS (saline ultrasound) I have ever had. About a year and a half ago, I had an SIS with another doctor, and it was so painful that I hyperventilated and cried. With Dr. O’Hern, I barely felt anything and was in and out of the office very quickly. Highly recommended! 5/5 stars.

I am deeply grateful for the outstanding care I recently received during my HSG test at SGF Texas Medical Center. I was anxious about the test, but from the moment I walked in, I knew I was in the best hands. The entire process, from scheduling to receiving the results, was seamless. Every staff member was warm, which eased my stress, and Dr. O’Hern was amazing ♥️ She took time to explain each step patiently and clearly. The procedure was much more comfortable than I expected. Yes, there was some brief discomfort, but it was over within minutes. The doctor reassured me throughout and made sure I felt safe and supported. Then came the moment I had been hoping for—clear tubes! The joy and relief I felt are hard to describe. I received the results immediately after the procedure! For anyone nervous about an HSG test, I want you to know that with the right medical team, the experience can be smooth, quick, and even empowering. I very highly recommend SGF Texas Medical Center and Dr. O’Hern and her team for their excellent care, expertise, and genuine compassion. If you are looking for a place where you will be treated with kindness and professionalism, this may be the right choice. Dr. Ohern and her team are wonderful. I began the process at the start of the year. My husband and I had tried for a year without success. I contacted Shady Grove and was fortunate to find Dr. Ohern. I was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and she developed a complete treatment plan for me. We began intrauterine insemination (IUI) in April and had the procedure on the 19th. I was very anxious throughout the process, and after every appointment a nurse sat down with me and explained everything. My IUI was successful, which has been the greatest blessing. My first two ultrasounds were wonderful experiences. The final visit, our graduation, was bittersweet. I had formed such a strong bond with her that it was difficult to leave. The celebration Dr. Ohern and her team held for us was the sweetest way to send us onward, and for good reason. I highly recommend Dr. Ohern. She is wonderful, and we will definitely return when we are ready for our second baby.
