This clinic should be closed and lose its license. I am a survivor of medical abuse at this practice and am finally ready to describe my treatment by Dr. Van Deerlin and Dr. Weisman. My Axia OB-GYN referred me after I spent ten years pleading for help with pelvic pain and suspected endometriosis. As reproductive endocrinologists, these doctors should diagnose and treat endometriosis. Dr. Weisman initially recommended an HSG and hysteroscopy, performed on consecutive days in 2020. I raised concerns about pain management because pelvic-floor dysfunction causes days of pain after any stimulation. They said the tests did not hurt and gave me half the lowest Valium dose, which did not relieve anxiety or pain. My memory is incomplete because I fainted during one procedure. I believe an endometrial biopsy was performed during the hysteroscopy without informed consent. I remember severe pain, pleading and shouting for her to stop. She did not stop; her nurse forcibly held me down until I fainted, and they continued. I believe trauma blocked the memory until years later, when Labcorp told me I owed for an endometrial biopsy I had not known about. The memories later returned in therapy. At another visit, Dr. Van Deerlin told me I had endometriosis, could never conceive naturally, and should begin IVF immediately if I wanted children because I was too old. I was 30, not ready for children, and had never tried to conceive. He was wrong: I conceived on my first attempt after stopping birth control. I have always felt fertility care can be profit-driven, but his behavior was unconscionable. Find an ethical, compassionate doctor. I would not want someone like this near my child.

I hesitated to write this because infertility is deeply personal, but I feel responsible for sharing my experience so other women can make informed choices. I saw a different doctor almost every visit. That alone was not a problem, but continuity of care suffered. At every appointment, they gave me incorrect verbal information: they misstated my husband's sperm count before IUI, asked whether it was my first IUI when it was not, and gave incorrect medication doses. I repeatedly had to correct doctors and show them my records. It was unsettling and felt as though they had not reviewed my chart. I left every visit confused about the reasoning behind their recommendations. Communication was extremely poor, with no app or similar direct-contact tool used by most fertility clinics. As a healthcare professional, I understand efficiency, but they seemed to have no time for questions or explanations. My HSG there was a nightmare. I specifically asked whether to take medication beforehand and was told none was needed. I was in severe pain, and afterward the doctor smirked and said, “You passed the first test, because this is what childbirth feels like!” Afterward, a medical assistant quietly suggested medication for next time, as though pain management for women were a secret. After my second IUI, which they performed without telling me the number of mature eggs—information that would have made me decline because of the multiple-pregnancy risk—I switched to RMA Marlton. The experience was entirely different and personalized. A dedicated nurse called after every monitoring visit with results, and the app provided direct access to nursing, billing, and every department, as well as easy scheduling. My doctor, Franasiak, is amazing. I am now 36 weeks pregnant with a baby girl :-)

    Do not go. Stay away.

I just had my first consultation with nurse practitioner Morgan, who was knowledgeable, warm, and very professional. We spent a full hour on Zoom reviewing my submitted documents, answering questions about the process, and identifying next steps. I still need to confirm costs with billing, but my communication with the staff so far has made me confident in choosing them as my provider.

After the pain of recurrent pregnancy loss, South Jersey Fertility helped us find answers with exceptional care and compassion. Now we can finally celebrate the holiday with our son. Forever grateful.

If you want to be judged for your weight or age or undergo repeated—and in my case unnecessary—tests, this clinic is for you. My weight met a certain threshold from my first appointment, but they never mentioned that it would prevent treatment. They required several invasive tests and repeated blood work, each with a copay and insurance billing. Only after I completed every supposedly necessary test and paid all charges did they say they could not help unless my weight met another standard. Why not say so initially? This clinic seems more interested in billing insurers, making money, and judging patients than helping people conceive. Fortunately, I chose another nearby clinic, not RMA. My first appointment there was September 10, and I was pregnant by October—even at age 40 and with a BMI South Jersey Fert considered too high. If you want compassionate, genuinely personalized care, avoid this clinic.

I recommend my experience at SJF to everyone, so it is time to write a review. Infertility is a dark period for most people, but all the staff, especially at Marlton, were very supportive and professional. I will always be grateful. Graduation day was bittersweet because you work closely with the entire staff during treatment.

Do not go to this clinic! About three years ago, after difficulty conceiving, I went to SJF. My dissatisfaction began when I started IVF. My egg retrieval outcomes were poor, and I met with doctors several times to understand the problem and how to improve. Each time they were vague, saying I could try certain things if I wanted but offering no specific treatment plan. I had to research every major decision and judge its value myself instead of receiving guidance from medical professionals with decades of experience. I have never known a specialist unable to provide direction. My time and money were wasted, and I regret not changing clinics sooner. I felt like a number in a deli line and received no personalized treatment. I am very grateful to have found Dr. Dougherty and Dr. Manara at the Center for Reproductive Medicine. They are the best doctors I have met and genuinely care about every patient. I also disliked the receptionist repeatedly saying that I, rather than my husband, paid the copay. That was extremely rude.

I recently had a baby with SJF’s help. The entire staff was outstanding, and I benefited greatly from their professional expertise. They identified the problem and found the best treatment plan for me.

Both my husband and I could hear a nurse say, ‘Someone has to tell her this is never going to work.’ I had already tried many times but wanted to attempt one more IUI here. I felt completely dismissed, as though they did not even want me there throughout my final cycle. The feeling was sickening. I went to a new clinic and succeeded, but I will never forget how they treated me during such a painful journey.

Every staff member was kind and helpful. They patiently answered all my questions, even repeated ones, without the condescending attitude sometimes found among medical specialists. Fertility issues of any kind place enormous emotional strain on patients, and everyone at SJFC handled everything with grace and kindness, providing tremendous support at every step of our care.

What a great experience we had at SJFC. So thankful to have a small office close to us in EHT, where the staff were very kind and supportive. We traveled to the Marlton office for procedures where we were also met with kindness and on time appointments. Any time I had a question, even after hours I received feedback right away. The app kept me up to date in a timely fashion with all results and appts. Staff made it very easy to communicate/ explain instructions and medications via phone, email and paperwork. We are so grateful to the staff and SJFC for giving us our miracle! highly recommend this fertility center

Using a patient’s BMI to determine what treatment they should receive is outdated. Many doctors say BMI does not account for every patient. It was invented in 1830, for heaven’s sake. Do not come here if you are even slightly overweight. My first appointment was by telehealth, and they were very kind and encouraging. However, when I entered the clinic, I felt they were looking down on and judging me. All my lab results showed that everything was normal—better than expected for my age—and I felt great. Yet they told me they would not even review my results with me until my BMI was below 36. Later, when I visited my regular OB-GYN, the system showed that they had reviewed my results with me, although all they had done was call and say I had a genetic defect. That may also constitute fraud, especially if they billed my insurance for it. Edit: They claim their BMI requirement is different. Perhaps they need to address this with their staff. The receptionist told me in advance that unless my BMI was below 36, they could not review my test results with me, proceed with further testing, or provide any treatment, including medication. Perhaps they need to train their staff better. Please save yourself the trouble and do not come here. It is sad that we live in a world where the standard they follow was invented by someone in 1830.

The staff were very friendly and respectful. The environment was clean and tidy. The wait was reasonable, and privacy was excellent. Amber was very gentle during the laboratory work. Dr. Weismann was knowledgeable, professional, and an excellent communicator. She explained everything in great detail and gave me plenty of time to ask questions. Tracy Krause and Melissa were very professional and understanding.

I highly recommend SJF. We saw Dr. Van Deerlin, Dr. Sawin, and Dr. Weisman, and had a very positive impression of all of them. Amber often drew my blood and did an excellent job; I felt at ease every time I saw her. Kate was our IVF nurse and was very attentive and kind. Overall, we had a wonderful team that helped us through a difficult process. The doctors always offered valuable advice and listened carefully to our views. I received attentive care throughout. I must give special thanks to the embryologists. They work behind the scenes and we rarely see them, but they helped create all the miracles. Thank you, SJF!
