GreatIve been in the process of getting dentures for at least a year. My teeth were in very bad shape and Hillary has been extremely good with the process. I have always been very comfortable with the care that she has given me professional and courteous people.

It's really unfortunate that I have to write this. We love our Dr. But she isn't the billing department and couldn't help us. We went in for our routine Crohn's appt. While there decided to get the COVID and Pheumo vaccine as required when you're diseased and suseptible. They charged us $750. My insurance said they would pay if the hospital would change the bill code. The hospital refused. Said I should have gone to CVS instead. Ya....... We will never go back after that comment. I tried to dispute as well. Got no where. Probably would have been better off hiring a lawyer. Sad, we really enjoyed their nurses and Drs. The billing department cost them a profitable diseased customer. Their favorite cash cow. No better than a car dealership.

My husband came to treat his kidney failure and this is the worst hospital experience we have ever had. I can't call it anything besides neglectful. The nurses that are taking care of him have no idea what is going on and the actual Dr never stops by. The food has been terrible. We thought he would be going home yesterday, but he was told they wanted to keep him a little longer because his blood sugar is high. They have been feeding him French toast, pasta, rice and juice for days. He had to ask THEM if he could have food that would be better for his diabetes. I'm not even sure why he is still there. They aren't doing additional glucose checks. They aren't adjusting his insulin. He's just sitting ignored and neflected in his room being told he can't go home.

Late night ED services leave much to be desired. High volumes and inexperienced physicians to be expected. I spent 12 hours there and the only good thing I have to say was they gave a shot of morphine. My problem was NOT solved, in fact it worsened. Choose a smaller/non University hospital for late night emergency services. I will not be back.

Dr. Taylor is an excellent doctor. He takes my treatment needs seriously and spends time ensuring that I receive the best treatment plan. I feel very fortunate to receive dental care from Dr. Taylor. He is not only an admirable person but also an outstanding medical professional.

I will be filing a nice little lawsuit of discrimination against the University of Utah Emergency Room Department. They had me waiting more than 5 hours in that same waiting room watching so many people come and go before me yet they knew I was there 5 hours later because one of them came out and said that hopefully we will hear something back soon. Just to find out at exactly 6 hours of sitting in the waiting room waiting to see a doctor that the night shift crew at the window who earlier told me to keep waiting because there are more severe patients which I understand and be respectful towards, that he checked me out because they called me 3 times and I “wasn’t” there.?! Even after I told them that I needed to go to my vehicle and get a charger to get me food because I’m hungry sitting there that long. I told them I am hungry being there for that long and the only way for me to pay is Apple Pay through my phone but it was dead while waiting. They checked me out while I was still sitting there in the waiting room as they have been informing to me keep waiting even 5 hours waiting in the Emergency Waiting Room. Never was seen by a doctor and I went back home with the same condition I went in. The only difference is that while I was waiting in there for 6 hours in the waiting room, there were gathered together in their little office by their computer chatting and laughing with each other. I couldn’t believe what America has become in 2026!

Dr. Christianson and Dr. Theisen are both highly skilled and truly care about their patients. I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. The treatment was very effective, and the quality of care far exceeded anything I had experienced elsewhere.

Our family’s experience at the University of Utah Hospital has been devastating. My mother entered the hospital walking, talking, and living independently. After her stay, she left with severe complications, including loss of mobility in her leg, significant cognitive decline, and constant pain. We were told the procedure had been repaired. However, after returning home to Idaho, physicians there informed us that the repair had not been successful and that there were no remaining medical interventions available. She has since been placed on hospice care. The financial impact has also been overwhelming, with hospital charges totaling approximately $893,000. Because we were from out of town, our family had to remain in Utah for nearly two months staying in hotels while trying to manage her care and understand what was happening. Unfortunately, we struggled to receive meaningful assistance from social services during that time. We also experienced significant challenges getting clear communication about her care. There were periods where our family felt excluded from discussions about her condition and treatment plan, which made an already stressful situation even more difficult. We filed a formal grievance with the hospital on November 1st. After more than two months, we have only received a letter stating they need additional time and have not yet received a full response addressing our concerns. This has been an incredibly painful experience for our family. We hope the hospital carefully reviews situations like this and improves communication, accountability, and support for patients and families.

Very happy meeting the doctor and being able to learn tremendous amounts of good information from Dr. Bunch. He was very friendly and he thoroughly dispensed valuable insights and recommendations about my future medical needs. I felt I was the beneficiary of several decades of experience and wisdom into a very specialized area of cardiology. Thank you so very much!!

I have gone to the University of Utah Hospital ER far more often than should have been necessary because I was dismissed each time and made to feel like a burden. I was turned away and seriously misdiagnosed when I had meningitis. My abdominal pain was called menstrual cramps, but it was actually a ruptured appendix. My hernia was called acid reflux, and I ultimately needed emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder and repair the hernia. The hernia was not repaired properly, and they later said I had a condition for which I had never been tested or diagnosed. Perhaps the ER is a training site for students, or perhaps it is medical negligence. Fortunately, LDS Hospital saved my life when the University of Utah Hospital could not be bothered to help me.

Response from the patient’s primary caregiver: The dental school staff went far beyond their duties to help this patient with special needs. It was a valuable learning experience for everyone.

As stated to me by the medical director of sugarhouse health center earlier this year, "We are really good at giving people C. diff". Not only is the University of Utah good at giving people this disease because physicians are uneducated, once you have had it they are great at otherizing you by asking you to avoid touching things in their clinics or doing gown&glove treatment when you are not infected while talking down to you about a disease they know nothing about. Infectious Disease is great, but maybe they should be educating your providers so you can stop infecting people and start actually keeping people safe from HAI instead of pushing them to want to seek care elsewhere or not seek care at all.
