    My husband and I recently visited this clinic for what we expected to be a routine initial consultation. Unfortunately, our experience left us with concerns about transparency and patient communication. During our appointment, neither the physician nor the consultant clearly explained the examinations, testing process, or overall treatment timeline. We were shown a picture on one slide, our insurance coverage was briefly reviewed, and we were provided information about supplements. However, when we asked for more details about what to expect, we were repeatedly directed to the patient portal rather than receiving explanations during the appointment. In particular, when I asked the consultant to walk us through the timeline and procedures, the response was essentially to “check the portal.” At one point, I was even asked whether I had already asked the doctor. This felt dismissive and did not create confidence that our questions were being taken seriously. For patients who value clear communication, transparency about their care, and a more traditional bedside manner, it may be worth considering other clinics. While this approach may work for some patients, we left feeling that important information should have been discussed directly rather than requiring us to search for answers afterward.

    Overall a really great experience with everyone in the St Pete/Tampa offices. Dr. Sprague was great to work with. We absolutely love the nurse Cortney - she always gave really great explanations, answered our questions with kindness and empathy during the rollercoaster that is IVF. Draco is amazingly talented at drawing blood without any pain (and you get a LOT of blood drawn) One star off because the central billing department is not helpful at all. I received a random bill after ‘graduating’ and called them to see what it was and they told me I didn’t owe anything. Then, a few months later I got a different bill for my last transfer and it had never been submitted through my insurance. I called central billing several times and they just said they’d ’look into it’ with no details and I kept getting bills for months. Nelida, our original financial coordinator, was a rockstar getting this fixed for us.

    After a long, difficult fertility journey, everything changed when we came here in October 2025. They always listened and explained things clearly. We visited Tampa and St. Petersburg but chose St. Petersburg because of its outstanding team. Our nurse Cori is wonderful, and Dr. Torrealday always answers our questions. We are deeply grateful and cannot praise them enough. Highly recommended! 🙏

    Everyone I met at SGF-St Pete was helpful, kind, and compassionate. Dr. Sprague was very knowledgeable and explained IVF clearly to a newcomer like me. She understood my needs and tried to accommodate my request for a modified natural cycle. Together with my nurse Katie, she ensured I understood every step and felt as comfortable as possible. Katie and financial counselor Annie were very supportive, answered all my questions, and kept me on schedule for egg retrieval, embryo transfer, and every step between. Draco made blood draws relaxing and was always friendly and easy to talk to. After multiple spontaneous miscarriages, I am now 16 and a half weeks pregnant. I will always be grateful to Dr. Sprague and the SGF-St Pete team!

    My husband and I joined the infertility community last year after my OB-GYN diagnosed me with endometriosis and referred us to Shady Grove. Our experience so far has been excellent. Although this is not a journey we wanted to face, the Shady Grove team has made it as easy as possible. Our patient care coordinator, Katherine, is very responsive and patiently answered our questions about prescreening and testing. She has been an invaluable resource. She is kind and easy to communicate with, which matters greatly during such a difficult fertility journey. We feel very confident in the care provided by Dr. Sprague and his team and look forward to the next stage of treatment!

    I highly recommend this clinic. Every staff member is very kind and explains each process in detail. I am extremely afraid of needles and any type of medical test, but everyone at the clinic was patient and found ways to help me relax, which made a big difference.

    My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Shady Grove Fertility and cannot say enough good things about the entire team. From the beginning, Dr. Sprague took the time to develop our treatment plan carefully and stayed in close communication throughout the process. We always felt informed, supported, and genuinely cared for. The staff at both the St. Petersburg and Tampa locations were outstanding, but the St. Petersburg office—our home clinic—holds a special place in our hearts. We were always greeted with smiles from the moment we walked in. I do not like needles and had to have several injections, but Draco always made my wife and me laugh and helped ease the stress. Special thanks to our fertility nurse coordinator, Amber Graham. Through every high and low, she remained patient, kind, and incredibly supportive. Her communication and care meant so much to us.     I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Sprague and her team, especially my wonderful nurse Raven. I firmly believe Dr. Sprague is the best. She is brilliant, kind, experienced, and compassionate, and she and Raven make an exceptional team. I felt completely safe in their care. What stands out most was a surprise visit from Dr. Sprague during a routine follicle check before retrieval. She immediately put me at ease and patiently answered every question. I had been worried that she might not be there for the retrieval, but she assured me I would receive excellent care regardless of who performed it. She was absolutely right 🥹. I could not have found a better doctor. Her team is truly outstanding. My very selective husband and I researched extensively before choosing Shady Grove, and we chose it because of Dr. Sprague. We have no regrets. Dr. Sprague made our dream possible. She is brilliant and knows her work inside and out! As I prepare for my first transfer, I feel reassured knowing she is directing my care. Raven is also amazing; she patiently takes all my anxious calls and listens to my concerns. She is a treasure, and hearing her calm voice stop me from overthinking is always comforting 😆 We now have seven beautiful embryos and feel incredibly fortunate to have reached this point.     I was referred to SGF by several people and so far my experience with the staff at the St. Pete location has been great. Katherine S. was my coordinator and she was always on the efficient with answering any questions I had or things I needed to do. Fertility is a very sensitive topic, but Dr. Sprague and her team provide exceptional, reassuring patient care. They patiently explain every step in detail and are highly knowledgeable.     I have been coming to this clinic for several months after a referral from Women's Care. Katherine and Dr. Sprague are both wonderful! The past few months have brought a lot of anxiety and challenges for my boyfriend and me. Everyone I have met in St. Petersburg and Tampa has been reassuring, helpful, and caring, making everything much easier when we need support most. Katherine truly cares about my situation and goes above and beyond to help me, which I love! I met with Dr. Sprague last week to discuss treatment options, and everyone in the office and on the team was very supportive.     At the beginning of treatment, I was assigned a financial counselor whom I did not like. I later switched to Ann McKnight, and she was wonderful!! She gave me tremendous help, as did Cortney White. She is truly an angel!! I was excited every time I saw her. She always answered my questions with warmth.     From the beginning, Dr. Sprague was welcoming and genuinely considerate. She makes you feel valued and cared for at every stage of treatment. My coordinator Katherine was wonderful; she was organized and helpful and made the entire process easy to navigate. The team is exceptional. Draco is outstanding at drawing blood and makes the process as comfortable as possible. Jacque at the front desk greets you warmly with a smile from the moment you enter.     I arrived at this clinic carrying more emotional baggage than an overstuffed suitcase. I had concerns and convictions about IVF and honestly expected to be judged or forced into a standard protocol. That was completely wrong. Over the years, I may have become Dr. Sprague's biggest fan, and I am not easily impressed. She is brilliant and compassionate and worked tirelessly to create the treatment plan that best suited me, even when it required an approach she might never otherwise have devised. After my miscarriage earlier this year, Dr. Sprague cared for me not only medically but as a person. I am sure she checked on me during her commute home. I do not know whether she ever rests, but she is always compassionate. My nurse manager, Amber, is phenomenal. I never feel rushed on calls with her. She answers every one of my countless questions, talks me through difficult parts of treatment, and genuinely celebrates with me. I joke that I hope to meet her in person one day because, for now, she is the best phone friend I never knew I needed. She embodies the same kindness and thoughtfulness as Dr. Sprague. Then there is Ann, the financial counselor. Fertility care is expensive, and billing can sometimes be harder to navigate than the hormones. Getting answers from my first counselor was extremely difficult, but Ann is a superstar. She recently resolved numerous billing issues just before the deadline for my next cycle and still cleared everything on time. She answers calls, calls back, and follows through—rare customer service today. Courtney and Draco also deserve recognition. Courtney performs most of my ultrasounds and feels more like a friend than a technician. She is calming and makes an awkward, stressful process feel completely normal. Draco is a master at blood draws: quick, gentle, and reliable every time. I may not have had success yet, but I have never felt like a dollar sign here. I feel like a person with a team behind me, whatever happens. If you want a clinic with intelligence, compassion, and humor, choose Dr. Sprague and her team.

    Going through this can be nerve-racking and frightening. Everyone experiences infertility differently, and Shady Grove St. Petersburg made me feel that my unique experience mattered. From the start, the staff validated and addressed all my feelings and concerns. They were welcoming, attentive, and caring. I am especially grateful to Draco and Jacques, who were there every time, and to Catherine, who answered every question my husband and I asked, no matter how silly it seemed.     I had a very positive experience at SGF in St. Petersburg. The office is smaller, so everything usually runs smoothly and on time without a wait. The best part is the team, especially Courtney. She is extremely kind, positive, and welcoming. At every follow-up visit—and there were many—she took the time to explain everything in detail and always reassured me that everything was fine. I arrived nervous and left hopeful and positive, entirely because of her.
