Dr Rachel Mandelbaum, États-Unis

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Ghadir and his team, including Amber and others. Every appointment was on time and informative. Everyone was easy to reach, and egg freezing was very affordable: the event cost $7,500! What a bargain. I am grateful for this opportunity.

Freezing my eggs with Dr. Hackman was a wonderful experience. She was highly informative and made me comfortable throughout the process—everything you want in a doctor. The nursing staff were also kind and patient. I am grateful for my experience with Dr. Hackman and highly recommend her!

I feel fortunate to have found Dr. Ghadir and his team. I had many worries, but Dr. Ghadir put me at ease during the consultation and was supportive and communicative throughout. His nursing staff were attentive and gentle, making all the testing easier. My nurse, Amber, was very helpful, sent updated medication protocols, and quickly answered emails about any concerns. I appreciated the clear egg-freezing package options and knowing the financial responsibility from the beginning. I chose the Nest package, and the process was seamless. I am very happy with my results and trust that I will receive excellent care when I return to continue growing my family!

Dr. Ghadir and his team, especially Amber and Jennie, were attentive, respectful, and thoughtful throughout the process. I had many questions but never felt like a burden! Their prompt communication and responses to emails and calls impressed me, and I never waited more than 5 minutes in the waiting room. 5 stars are not enough!

Dr. VanHise and Marianne McClugkin make a wonderful team. From start to finish, they made sure I felt prepared, supported, and genuinely cared for. They checked in regularly, listened carefully to my symptoms, and provided excellent care before and after the procedure. My egg-freezing experience was smooth and reassuring, and I would choose them again for future fertility treatment. I especially appreciated learning more about my body and its response to hormones. Dr. VanHise took an educational approach during ultrasounds and medication discussions, explaining not only what we were doing but why, so I understood every step. On procedure day, I felt calm, prepared, and confident. Marianne was very supportive, hands-on, communicative, and kind. She explained the injection process step by step until I felt completely comfortable. I am sincerely grateful to Dr. VanHise and Marianne and recommend them without hesitation. Thank you, VanHise team!!!

Thank you, Dr. Hakman!!! I began IVF at 43, and 18 months later I am nearly 45. We first saw another highly regarded doctor said to treat many celebrities, but did not get the results we wanted. Although he was nice, I did not feel he took time to understand my situation or guide us. Everyone is different, and I felt I should not take up his time with questions. Our first retrieval produced 20-22 eggs but no usable embryos, and he immediately recommended donor eggs. After three rounds with him, we had only one euploid embryo. We then went to HRC in Beverly Hills. Dr. Hakman explained, based on my strong ovarian reserve and the data, that I was exactly the kind of patient who should keep trying. She showed me a chart of the average number of eggs needed per embryo by age—about 45 eggs at age 44—and stressed that this was only an average. Her careful explanation helped set expectations and prepare me for multiple retrievals. I understood that it was a numbers game and that continued retrievals could eventually yield good embryos. She also recommended improving my husband's sperm quality and seeing a urologist. This added 2-3 months but worked. After his sperm improved, two retrievals with Dr. Hakman produced two euploid embryos. She used the same medications as other doctors but kept the doses steadier, making injections much easier and reducing monitoring visits near the end of each cycle. Because I live out of state, this greatly reduced my stress. Dr. Sasha encouraged me throughout, like a cheerleader. She and coordinator Jenny were always reachable by phone or text. Jenny answered at any hour, seven days a week. An unexpected positive endometriosis test delayed transfer for several months while I received treatment. The wait and hormones were difficult, but Dr. Hakman called periodically to check on me. Our first transfer failed, but the second succeeded, and I am now three and a half months pregnant! Thank you, Dr. Hakman and the HRC team!!!

From our first meeting, my husband and I knew Dr. Ghadir was the right choice for us. His confidence and compassion immediately put us at ease, especially after two failed attempts at another clinic. My egg retrieval experience with Dr. Ghadir was completely different, in the best way. The entire HRC team was warm and attentive, and made us feel seen and cared for. Dr. Ghadir helped identify the underlying cause of my infertility, and thanks to him our first transfer was successful. We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Ghadir and cannot wait to meet our babies this summer!

I want to share my experience at HRC Fertility in Beverly Hills. I encountered repeated delays and poor communication there, which postponed my egg-freezing process. February 18, 2026: I first contacted them to schedule a follow-up appointment and emphasized that timely communication was very important to me. I received a reply that afternoon, but it came late, which made me begin to worry about the quality of their service. February 24, 2026: After my period began, I urgently needed to know when to come in. I received conflicting instructions—one staff member said to come on cycle day 2 or 3, while my physician, Dr. Wertheimer, had told me to come the day before my period started. I repeatedly asked for clarification but received only vague or delayed replies several days later. That day, I expressed my dissatisfaction and considered switching providers because of the lack of clear guidance, but they took no action and offered no explanation. February 24 to March 18, 2026: The clinic made no contact. March 17-18: The situation remained unchanged. Because my period was approaching, I contacted them. The emails I received were inconsistent, with staff alternately telling me to come 2-3 days early and again 2-3 days early. They had not even communicated with the doctor since the previous month. Because of them, I missed the opportunity to start treatment for two consecutive months. I asked them to confirm with the doctor. The doctor was copied on the emails but did not contact me or provide any explanation for a month. I had to repeatedly press the team to confirm the treatment plan, and even when I raised questions directly, I received no apology or response. March 18, 2026: My next menstrual cycle begins tomorrow, but I am still facing the same problem. I need an immediate appointment, yet I am again caught in vague instructions and repeated delays. I feel frustrated and unsupported, especially during a time-sensitive and emotionally difficult process like fertility treatment. Overall, the repeated poor communication, slow responses, and lack of accountability caused me to lose confidence in the team. For a process requiring precision and empathy, the experience was extremely stressful and disappointing. Trusting this clinic delayed my embryo-freezing cycle by two months. I am 36, and based on my test results, my doctor told me the cycle needed to be completed within six months. Two of those six months have now passed, 'thanks' to HRC. The people I dealt with were Ari, Aleesia, and Dr. Wertheimer.
25/03/2026
The coordination was extremely poor. Dr. Ghadir created a two-month medication preparation plan for us, but the nursing team completely ignored it. They sent the medication without even checking the patient’s menstrual cycle. The written instructions were entirely different from what the doctor told us. Fortunately, a family member caught the mistake in time. This was a major warning sign! We decided not to continue treatment because we did not want to take the risk.

Posting for a friend because they keep inexplicably deleting her review. HRC Fertility’s disregard for patient safety and accountability is alarming. My doctor clearly instructed me to complete a mandatory two-month preparation period with specific supplements before beginning treatment. However, the nurse, Nurse Jenny, completely ignored this medical plan. Without checking my menstrual cycle, physical condition, or health status, she blindly mailed the medications months early. Even more alarming, when I questioned her, the nurse admitted in writing that she was ‘confused’ about my physical condition—after the high-dose medications had already been sent. This was extraordinarily reckless. If I had not been especially vigilant and carefully checked her instructions, I might have started treatment that could have had catastrophic consequences for my health. HRC management promised to resolve the issue by the end of the week, then went silent again. They are trying to withhold $5000, an amount directly resulting from their serious negligence. If you value your health and safety, be aware that this clinic prioritizes moving medication boxes over following the safety protocol prescribed by its doctors.

Choosing Dr. Ghadir was one of the best decisions I have ever made. He developed the best ovarian stimulation protocol for me, and the procedure was very successful, retrieving 31 eggs. With Thomas's careful guidance, I was also able to follow the protocol throughout. He was very attentive before and after the procedure and always responded promptly to my questions. Overall, my experience was excellent. I highly recommend Dr. Ghadir—he is the most experienced doctor I have met!

I froze my eggs a week ago, and the experience was perfect! Dr. Ghadir and his team were amazing—thorough, attentive, and considerate. From start to finish, I felt fully informed and supported. I may have sent countless emails before the procedure, but the entire team remained kind and responsive. They addressed all my concerns so well that I immediately knew I had made the right choice. My nurse Ally was also incredible; she will definitely be my future child's godmother. She is truly amazing! Overall, 10/10. Highly recommended!

I believe this is generally a good place, but I was treated rudely from the beginning. The receptionist had the worst attitude I have ever encountered. At first I thought she was simply having a bad day, but when my wife came to deliver a sample the next day, she experienced the same rudeness. It was the person on the left as you enter, but unfortunately I did not get her name... We felt discriminated against. There is no reason to treat others so rudely. If staff members do not like their job, someone else should do it and could do it better. This place should be the beginning of something wonderful, so receiving such unequal treatment was deeply discouraging.

I completed several frozen embryo transfer cycles at this clinic, and after three failed transfers, I no longer trust them to provide IVF patients with the attention, organization, and oversight they deserve. Problems arose throughout treatment, including missing or unclear instructions, forgotten pre-transfer bloodwork, conflicting medication guidance, and errors in the treatment calendar, even though IVF depends entirely on precise timing and coordination. I also had to follow up repeatedly about adjunct treatments such as intravenous intralipid infusions because they did not appear to be actively managed. The level of disorganization was astonishing. I often waited in examination rooms for long periods without any update and eventually had to step out and ask whether anyone was coming, only to be told, 'Oh, you're still here? We thought you left.' After one transfer, they instructed me to keep my legs elevated for 10 minutes and said a nurse would return after setting a timer. Given my previous experiences at this clinic, I set my own timer as well. Twenty-five minutes passed, and no one returned. No one checked on me. No one seemed to notice I was still there. This experience perfectly summarizes how I felt throughout my care: there was no follow-up, no communication, and no attention to detail during one of the most vulnerable medical experiences of my life. After two failed transfers with no clear explanation, I eventually did my own research and suggested a hysteroscopy. After repeated transfer failures, I should not have needed to advocate for further testing myself. At times, I felt like my own case manager instead of a patient receiving coordinated fertility care at a clinic that presents itself as a leader in the field. I constantly had to piece together important information myself while hoping nothing critical had been missed. The financial side was another major problem. The clinic's financial department told me in writing that I would owe no more than $4,520, but I later received a bill for $34,100. The email signature of the person providing these financial estimates identified her as a 'marketing coordinator,' making it difficult to trust that I was receiving qualified financial guidance. A bill tens of thousands of dollars higher than the amount provided to me in writing is completely unacceptable. IVF is already physically, emotionally, and financially exhausting. Patients should not also have to worry about missing instructions, forgotten laboratory tests, inaccurate schedules, whether medical records will be withheld in violation of state law, or bills suddenly increasing by tens of thousands of dollars. Based on my experience, I absolutely would not recommend this clinic.

They never answer the phone, and I felt they cared only about selling me egg freezing rather than what was best for me. The doctor was terrible and recommended IVF without even reviewing our test results.

I had an appointment at 8:00 a.m., but no one arrived at the office. It is now 8:45 a.m. This level of unprofessionalism and lack of respect for clients is unacceptable and does not meet good customer-service standards.

HRC is the most disorganized medical practice I have encountered, and the extreme carelessness I witnessed made an already painful IVF experience far worse. I recently read a news article reporting that HRC was sued for implanting the wrong embryo. I cannot link it here, but searching Google for "HRC wrong embryo" should find it. Given how incompetent their staff are, this does not surprise me at all. The practice has some positives: short waits, doctors who seem kind enough, and friendly nurses at the surgical center. However, these are outweighed by HRC's errors, which ranged from highly irritating, expensive, and inconvenient to emotionally traumatic. First, dealing with HRC's financial adviser was a nightmare. She made countless errors on my account that cost me extra money. It took substantial effort, including escalating some matters to management, to get anyone to acknowledge her mistakes. She forgot to issue an owed refund and failed to provide records and bills; I suspect she hoped I would overlook the extra charges. A simple question should not require multiple emails to receive an answer. Whenever I requested clarification or information or asked her to investigate a possible error, she either refused or gave an answer that appeared to be an outright lie, as shown when her manager provided a completely different explanation. She could only claim that a quote was "no longer valid," which was impossible given the timeframe. Other questions were simply ignored, or I was told to contact someone who never replied, replied weeks later without answering, or hung up. Their inability to communicate clearly or promptly is shocking. Although the billing and recordkeeping problems were frustrating and expensive, they pale beside the apparent extreme carelessness on the medical side. All treatment and medical communication went through a nurse coordinator, which was frustrating because she made many errors. I identified many and replied to her emails requesting clarification or correction, but these requests were often ignored or severely delayed. For example, she overordered nearly $1,000 of one medication. I emailed about it, but the question was avoided until my next office visit with her. When I pressed, she admitted that HRC "estimates" medication and often deliberately orders, and charges patients for, too much. I found no disclosure of this in their medical forms and was not told verbally. She then said my only option for the extra medication she ordered without my agreement was to sell it on the "black market." She even suggested Facebook groups as a good place to sell excess fertility medication. A PA gave me the same advice, making me think that miscalculating medication and encouraging patients to do something questionable and illegal to cover HRC's errors may be common practice there. She also failed to provide key details, including changes to treatment timing and schedules. Instead, she pretended this had always been the plan until forced to admit she changed things without telling me. I also had to remind her to send necessary laboratory request information for my treatment and testing and to perform other critical administrative duties. The final straw was an error in my transfer-procedure instructions. Again, the nurse coordinator failed to provide basic details about the requirement for taking Valium, leaving too little time to correct the error so I could take it during the extremely unpleasant and invasive procedure. This added unnecessary pain and trauma to an already stressful day.

I first went to HRC in July 2018. I had just been treated very improperly at Pacific Fertility, where they prescribed medication without bloodwork. I had already begun an egg-retrieval cycle and thought I might need to start over. In a panic, I saw Dr. David Tourgeman to learn whether the cycle could be saved. I was immediately impressed by his manner and knowledge. He took time to explain where I was in the cycle and how he and his team could help. He assigned me a team, and I received 24/7 care that made me feel like their only patient. We ultimately saved the cycle, and I was pleased with the egg-retrieval outcome. Years later, in April 2022, I returned to HRC and Dr. Tourgeman to use the eggs I had retrieved. We ultimately needed another retrieval and two transfers. I was very pleased with the care and outcome: spoiler alert, I became pregnant. He was not only very kind, as before, but the team assigned to me made me feel like their top priority. My care coordinator Mei was consistent and reliable. I could always count on her to answer my many questions and emails, usually within 24 hours and often within a few hours. My nurse Maria was always kind and professional. She drew my blood many times throughout the process and never hurt me; she has such a gentle touch with needles. Maira handled finances and was always helpful and answered my questions. I always understood the costs associated with my care. I highly recommend HRC, Dr. Tourgeman, and his team. They were very supportive and helpful. Dr. Tourgeman is attentive, caring, knowledgeable, and available. Most importantly, he assembled an incredible team that demonstrated the highest professionalism and dedication to my care.

I am not someone who writes negative reviews. We scheduled an appointment here several weeks ago. Before it, we went off-grid camping in Arizona. Without prior notice, they said we had to reschedule because we had not quarantined for 72 hours after returning to the state. We both had antibodies as well. They made us wait 30 minutes in the waiting room and pay $8 for parking before telling us. Having rules is fine, but it is completely unreasonable not to disclose them. The office was also dirty and dusty. Find somewhere else to spend thousands of dollars.

I am currently freezing my eggs with Dr. Mandelbuam at HRC Fertility, and I am extremely pleased with her and the entire staff. I am 37 and learned through this process that I have low ovarian reserve, so egg freezing has not been easy. I began at UCLA and found the process impersonal, expensive, and difficult. After transferring to HRC, I was struck by Dr. Mandelbuam’s attentiveness, knowledge, and kindness. At our first meeting, she spent more than an hour explaining the process and my condition in a way no one had before, using visuals. Dr. Mandelbuam performs every scan I need. After one cycle did not go as hoped, she personally called on a Friday evening to check on me. Whether you are freezing eggs with low ovarian reserve, undergoing IVF, or managing another infertility issue, this journey is very emotional, and you want someone like Dr. Mandelbuam on your team. She even invented a needle-free IVF catheter system, which is amazing for people uncomfortable injecting themselves day after day. Other staff, including her nurse Jasmine and financial counselor April, are kind, supportive, communicative, and helpful. Jasmine responds quickly by email or text to every question or concern. She explains how to take medications and even offered to FaceTime during my first dose to ensure I was comfortable. Everyone who drew my blood was wonderful. Special thanks to Leah at Encino Surgical Center, who held my hand during a painful ovarian cyst aspiration—my advice is to pay for anesthesia—and was exceptionally kind. In summary, I highly recommend HRC Fertility!

I had a wonderful experience freezing my eggs with Dr. Mandelbaum. She was very kind and took time with me. She performed every ultrasound herself and closely monitored me throughout the process. Her needle-free medication delivery system was amazing. I am very grateful that someone recommended her to me. 10/10.

We had an excellent experience with Dr. Mandelbaum and her team. From the first consultation, she listened patiently to our concerns, clearly explained every option, and guided us through each step of the process. She was both compassionate and thorough, making what could have been a stressful experience feel easy and positive. The clinic staff were equally outstanding: professional, responsive, and always willing to answer questions promptly by phone or email. We greatly appreciated how organized the entire process was. Clear instructions and regular updates put us at ease and gave us confidence in our decisions. 10/10, highly recommend!

I rarely write reviews, but my experience at this clinic made me feel that I needed to share it. Fertility treatment is already an emotionally demanding and extremely expensive journey, especially when paying entirely out of pocket. Patients deserve care, communication, and the feeling that they matter. Unfortunately, I did not receive that here. From the beginning, there were ongoing problems with scheduling, communication, and excessive wait times. On one occasion, I sat in the examination room so long that the lights automatically turned off before anyone came in. During a procedure, I was left in the procedure room for about 25 minutes before the doctor arrived, with my legs raised and completely exposed from the waist down. I remained in that position so long that my legs began to go numb, and I had to tell the staff I was uncomfortable and ask, "Where is the doctor?" Being left waiting in such a vulnerable position for so long was humiliating, embarrassing, and frankly absurd. The final straw was a scheduling error that directly affected my care. I saw the doctor on 5 18, and the doctor clearly told me to return on 5 22. I rearranged my schedule and arrived on time, only to be told that my appointment was not on the schedule at all. The mistake was on their end. What was most upsetting was what happened afterward: nothing. My last contact with the clinic was on 5 22. By 6 23, more than a month had passed without anyone contacting me to apologize, explain what happened, discuss next steps, or even check in. No call, no email, no response at all. I now genuinely feel as though no one cares. This is heartbreaking because this was not just a routine doctor's appointment. This was fertility treatment. Becoming a mother is something I have wanted for years and poured everything into. I paid for my care out of pocket, invested my time, and entrusted this clinic with something deeply personal, only to feel that I did not matter at all. I do not know why my experience was so poor, and I do not want to speculate about anyone's intentions. I only know how I felt: ignored, forgotten, and never treated as a priority. When you entrust a clinic with something as life-changing, emotional, and consequential as building a family, a lack of communication, accountability, and compassion is devastating. I will never return to this clinic, and based on my experience, I cannot recommend it.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Mandelbaum and her team, especially Jasmine. Of course, this was a stressful and sensitive process, but I felt supported throughout, and all my questions were answered. I highly recommend choosing Dr. Mandelbaum for this process!

I highly recommend Dr. Mandelbaum! From the start, I knew she was an excellent fit because she was thorough, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. A single one-hour consultation taught me more about my body than any previous experience. She and her team, especially Jasmine and Maria, were kind throughout and made me feel reassured. They were always available if I had questions or concerns. Finally, the needle-free egg-freezing process was incredibly easy. I would not have been able to freeze my eggs without this extremely convenient technology. I have recommended Dr. Mandelbaum to all my close friends and am sincerely grateful for such a positive experience.

Dr. Mandelbaum, Jasmine, and the entire HRC West Los Angeles team are the best medical team I have ever worked with. I consulted several fertility clinics in Los Angeles before choosing Dr. Mandelbaum, and from the beginning I felt that they truly listened to my needs and cared for me. She took the time to get to know us and genuinely tailored the treatment plan to us. Dr. Mandelbaum is extremely knowledgeable and stays current with the latest research. I could contact Dr. Mandelbaum and Jasmine by text at any time and never felt unable to ask a question, request an explanation, or confirm something :) I developed a very close relationship with everyone at the clinic, and now that we have returned to our regular OB-GYN, I already miss them. I will always be grateful to you—thank you so much!

Dr. Mandelbaum and her entire team, especially Jasmine, made my embryo-transfer experience wonderful. They cared for me throughout, patiently answered every question, and were available 24 hours a day. They reassured me and helped me through a process I had been very anxious about. They handled every detail meticulously and with compassion. I am very grateful to this team and look forward to working with them again for the transfer.

I am very grateful to have worked with Dr. Mandelbaum and her excellent team. She made me feel comfortable throughout treatment and took time from her busy schedule to answer all my questions. Her staff were warm and friendly, making appointments easy and convenient. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Mandelbaum. She is not only highly skilled but also kind, compassionate, and genuinely caring. I feel fortunate to have received her care and recommend her to anyone seeking a truly exceptional doctor.

Dr. Mandelbaum and her entire team were a pleasure to work with. I explored other egg-freezing options, but they felt cold and impersonal compared with HRC. At my first appointment, Dr. Mandelbaum spent over an hour consulting with me and explaining every detail of the process. She also returned for my regular appointments during treatment, and it was reassuring to see her and all the other familiar faces in the office. Now that my cycle is complete, I will genuinely miss seeing them!
