I cannot believe the vasectomy was so simple and relatively painless. The nurse was wonderful and helped calm me because I was nervous. Once the procedure was complete, I realized there had been no reason to worry. Dr. Bastuba spoke with me throughout the procedure; this man knows what he is doing. Amazing doctor! Another doctor assisted him and was also excellent. I had almost no discomfort during the 3-hour drive home. I woke today feeling great. I did not need any pain medication at all. None. There is very little swelling and no bruising. I was supposed to apply ice, but I felt no pain. I cannot recommend San Diego Vasectomy Center highly enough! The entire staff is wonderful. I have already recommended them to several friends. Do not be afraid or nervous. The procedure is nothing. Just do what you are supposed to afterward!

I completed the procedure just over a month ago. It was the simplest and quickest procedure. Honestly, it was the best experience I have had on an operating table. I had LASIK a few months ago, and if anyone has had that, it was comparably fast.
Dr. Bastuba's jokes never stopped, and I kept laughing...or perhaps the nitrous was talking. Either way, it was quick and painless, and at the end I received a free Dr Pepper. I walked straight out, followed their instructions exactly, and have had no problems since.
I am really looking forward to the follow-up in two months!

We love Dr. B. My husband had a vasectomy 7 years ago, and we decided to have it reversed. Dr. B admitted us in month 11, and we became pregnant in the second cycle!!!! I am now 8 weeks pregnant, and we are thrilled with Dr. B and his services. Everyone in the office is genuinely friendly and kind and was delighted to hear our news. Dr. B is very knowledgeable and gave us his cell number after the procedure so we could check in. If you are considering a vasectomy reversal, see Dr. B. We are extremely grateful and excited. Here is my experience with this clinic. I have a condition I do not wish to discuss, but it explains my perspective. Last year I saw a specialist, and everything was fine until I was billed for laboratory work that insurance could have covered. The insurer, clinic, and laboratory company would not assume the cost, so despite having insurance, I paid out of pocket and decided not to continue here. Now they want to charge me $30 for a consultation they did not provide. I have all documents and evidence of when and where I visited. First they claimed the balance was for one date; after I proved I had paid, they said it was for another date and that I had never received a consultation. They still harass me for $30 for a consultation that never occurred. This appears fraudulent and is shameful. I advise others to seek care elsewhere because I have lost trust and respect for this clinic.

We have not had the procedure yet, but we are already extremely impressed! Monika has been wonderful from the beginning—her professionalism, patience, and genuine care have truly amazed us. Dr. Bustaba has also gone above and beyond to help us feel comfortable and confident throughout the process. We could not ask for a better team!

Dr. Bastuba and his staff are wonderful. The entire experience was excellent, and I highly recommend him and his staff for a vasectomy. The process was thoughtful and performed very well. He offered several options to reduce anxiety and manage discomfort related to the procedure. He is current on the latest methods, and I appreciate his professionalism and personable manner. In an age when doctors charging $700 an hour can be found throughout the internet, the small things matter. Although I would say Dr. Bastuba performed well, much was lacking. I dealt with Tanya at the front desk to obtain a work note. A month before surgery, it took 3 calls and emails to receive it. When she finally sent the letter, she threatened to call my workplace if I did not attend the appointment on time, as if I did not care or was using a vasectomy to become unemployed. Two days after surgery, I requested additional prescription pain medication because pain control was poor. I was eventually told simply to use high-strength Motrin. Again, the staff were presumptuous, made mistakes, gave incorrect information, relayed messages poorly, and communicated badly. If you plan to see Dr. Bastuba, expect difficulties before and after the procedure.

This morning, Dr. Bastuba performed my no-scalpel vasectomy. The entire procedure was explained in detail, including preoperative and postoperative measures to ensure a full recovery. Pain and loss of mobility were minimal. His hands are clearly well trained, and his technique is highly skilled. During the procedure, when more numbing was needed, he and his clinical staff listened and administered medication until it was comfortable to continue. Thank you, Dr. Bastuba, Mel, and all the other staff.
